So me and my wife went to Mr. Crabby's for an early dinner. We had good service and enjoyed our early food and drink. We ordered way to much food and had the left overs placed in a container. I had a lobster roll wrapped up and my wife had a pizza wrapped. We left the place got into our car and realized we forgot to take our food. 3 minutes topps!! . I went back in to ask about our containers and the bartentender said we threw your lobster roll out and the dishwashers were about to eat the pizza!!! WTF are you kidding me!! Give me a break you can't throw out or eat a customers food inside of three minutes of them leaving !! This place SUCKS!!! Won't ever go back!! read more

I ran across this seafood restaurant and wanted to try it out. The fish and chips is really good for a young person. It's wasn't my cup of tea. Would I come here again? I would to try another entrée. But that's only if I'm in the area but to come an hour out of my way no I would not. But they do have cute waitresses. read more

The restaurant is in a nice location with plenty of seating. It was trivia night with a decent crowd. We stopped in for drinks and appys. Our server was great, got our drinks right away. We had wings and baked clams for appetizers, neither were good. The clams were soggy and had breadcrumbs that resembled paste. Pretty disappointed but I'm hoping next time is better. read more

The place was OK. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I went on a Friday night and was very loud. There was a band playing but I couldn't even see them. I had the boneless buffalo wings dipped in garlic Parmesan. I didn't love them but maybe I would like the bone in ones better. From my entrée I had the garlic shrimp tacos and they were pretty good. They did not skimp on the shrimp at all. The waiter said they were short staffed And it showed but I can excuse that. Overall OK experience read more

There were some definite improvements from the last time we came here. The service was better and we didn't have to wait a month for the food. The snow crab pot actually came in a pot, which was better than I thought it would be. Digging down in the bottom was messy but the crab legs were delicious and the chorizo was the perfect addition. The calamari was decent size for an appetizer. It was a good experience overall. read more

PROS: - oysters are the best thing on the menu - large portions - lost of parking - lots of seating options - large space - lots of tv monitors to watch diff games - good for groups - good for game nights CONS: - food does not taste the best - cocktails/drinks are watered down - service is hot or miss This is an okay place if you want to come to have beers and watch a game with friends. Otherwise, I can't say I would recommend going here. Staff is fine, beers are good, everything else is not that good. read more

Don't recommend this place at all. Food was way to expensive for what you get and only subpar quality. I went with my mom and the bill was $130! People that work there are strange too. Weird vibes... Also it wasn't even crowded and the food took way to long to come out read more

I'm a relatively new diner at Mr. Crabby's, having had my first visit perhaps 3 or 4 months ago. I specifically craved a crab cake sandwich. Love crab cakes! On my first visit, Mr. Crabby's did not disappoint. My crab cake was delicious. It contained sizeable lumps of crab meat and a flavorful remoulade sauce. The remoulade had a bit more of a kick than I would normally prefer, but it was still enjoyable. My sandwich came with fries, which I normally don't eat, but I tried 3 or 4 of them and they were good, too. I also liked the side of coleslaw that was included in a little plastic cup, along with my sandwich. I returned a couple of months later to have the same for lunch. My reaction was the same with the sole exception of the coleslaw. Somehow, they screwed that up. The slaw had a dark color that made me doubt that the cabbage was fresh. It didn't matter. My focus was the crab cake sandwich. My next and last visit was today. I ordered my sandwich to go and discovered that it was barely cooked. The crab cake mixture was wet, runny and cold. Any seafood chef should know better than to serve an undercooked crab cake. And once again, some of the cabbage in the coleslaw looked like it had gone bad, plus the texture was very soupy. Tossed it again. I only ate a few of the fries to quell my hunger pangs. I can't help but to wonder whether Mr. Crabby's hired a new chef after my very first visit a few months ago. If so, that was a mistake. read more

My family and I went here, the environment is very cute and the employees are very friendly, but the food was absolutely awful. The crabs barely had any meat in them, the lobster macaroni and cheese had chunks of lobster shell, one of the shells got caught in my cousin's gum, and she had to pull it out, the toppings on the pizza were flavorless, and tasted like they were pulled out of a garbage disposal, and the some clams were sealed shut. The bill was just pushing $200, we will never come here again. read more

I have passed this restaurant so many times and finally I got a chance to try it. I called in my order of the shrimp tacos and it came to a little under $15. When I arrived I parked in the private lot. I walked in and found the nice man that took my order. He handed me my food, I paid and left. When I ate the tacos were good and so were the seasoned french fries. I enjoyed the meal. read more

In the interest of full disclosure, my chum and I did not come here due to positive word of mouth, or because we had an intense hankering for crab meat - we literally met up in the Rockaway Mall parking lot and made an impulse decision based on nearby location. That's it. That strategy can absolutely blow up in your face (and I have the psychological scorch marks to prove it), but it worked out well this time around. We came here for an early lunch on Friday (a little before noon). The weather was gorgeous and we would have strongly considered eating outside if that area hadn't been closed off upon arrival. It looked like they were still opening up that section and possibly doing some mild construction-type work; for what it's worth, by the time we left a few customers were sitting out there, so this is actually a rare example of the early bird not getting the worm. Instead we made ourselves comfortable at the sparsely populated bar, which had two or three other customers sprinkled in throughout our meal. I had recently deposited an ample supply of nickels into the bank and was feeling a bit frisky, so I went with the Stoli Hurricane, while my noble chum ordered a Peartini. I've had a lot of Hurricanes in my time, and while it was made well by the bartender, it was a little too berry-forward for my taste - I tend to like the ones that emphasize the pineapple and grenadine. But the ingredients were right there for my review, so that's completely on me. I will say as an aside that in the midst of trying to eat my entree (which we'll get to), my arm tipped my second drink over, which was probably 80% full at the time. After quickly checking with the manager, the bartender poured me another without my asking (frankly, I thought I deserved to lose out on that drink due to my poor glass placement - who puts a full glass of anything three inches from their elbow?). Huge, classy points in their favor. We split the steamed chicken potstickers app, which came with a sweet/sour pineapple dipping sauce. Pretty tasty - nothing mind-blowing, but fulfilled their purpose as a palate-whetting bar appetizer, and they didn't last long. Still riding high on my nickels, I went with the Alaskan Snow Crab Legs (market price, which I think was close to $50). It seemed naughty to get something that didn't have crab in it based on the name of the establishment. It was very good but probably not something I'd get again. I have ample experience ripping crawfish meat out of the shell, but crab is still a learning process. It's a minor miracle that my chum is still speaking to me, given how much crab juice accidentally ended up spraying all over her on multiple occasions as I tried to manhandle the seafood cracker. Such a trooper. Constructive feedback - I think crab bibs should have been supplied for at least me and probably my chum too. I really liked the potatoes that it came with; seasoned well and complemented the dish overall. The corn was fine, but (and this is probably a betrayal of my Jersey roots), it's always such a hassle to eat it off the cob and gets in my chompers, so I often forget to eat most of it. The chorizo sausage was a strong contender as well - I actually ended up accidentally eating chorizo again later in the weekend, and this was the better option by far. My chum also went with a crab option, ordering the signature crab cake sandwich. It was warmly received. To top it off (and by this time we'd obviously thrown caution to the wind), we split a Reeses peanut butter pie/pastry dish. It wasn't made in-house - the bartender said she thought only the key lime pie option was - but we both enjoyed it. It's hard to really criticize a dessert frontloaded with chocolate and peanut butter. The service was very solid. I already mentioned the noble gesture by the bartender, but I don't recall having to noticeably wait for anything (though I had excellent company to distract me). The snow crab pot probably took a little longer than a normal entree but I certainly think that's to be expected. Price-wise? It was an expensive meal for a random Friday lunch adventure, but if you don't have a recently deposited nickel collection to coast on, there are plenty of more affordable options to choose from; it was a giant menu that we perused for almost 10 minutes before making our selections. I wouldn't classify this as Michelin-level food, but it's not claiming to be - it's a solid blue collar seafood/sports bar level establishment, and it got the job done. read more

The good: lots of choices. Good vibe. Food is good. Drinks are good. The bad: ask for the prices of the specials. I feel our waiter suckerd me with all the choices of the specials that we ordered the seafood tower. 255.00 !!!!!!!!! Wtf?!?!? It wasn't that great tasting for that price. You also only get one lobster tail. A bunch of clams. A few shrimp which they said are Jumbo shrimp and aren't. A bunch of oysters. A few snow crabs and a king crab leg. So if you don't see a price please ask. With two drinks two coca colas and dessert. Over 400 dollars. Smh. Has a joes crab shack vibe with fancy food prices. You have been warned!!!!! read more

Dry-Aged Steak is horrible. It is NOT dry-aged. If it is, then the poor cow died in vane. Worst steak I probably had anywhere. Ordered it medium rare. Charred. Medium inside. Chewy hard fat. That is not dry aged, medium rare bone-in ribeye. Should melt in your mouth. It was an oratory battle to chew it. At least our dog will be happy. I just couldn't choke it down anymore. Beer is nice and cold and staff is very friendly. Stick w the crab, lobster rolls or ahi tuna. read more

Out of the blue, my honey suggested that we give this local seafood eatery a try. She had a hankering for crab - we usually hit Mud City Crab House down the shore but that was too far for . quick hit. Happily, despite the Sunday NFL crowd and more TVs showing games than we could count, this cavernous hall had room for two hungry diners. Our server, Christine, was attentive and promptly served us our beverages and my appetizer - really well made hot wings - a generous portion too. My wife's crab cake sandwich was chock full of fresh meat and the roll was a perfect match. I had the lobster roll - I am a big fan - and it was New England, not Connecticut style - lettuce and mayo, not butter and nothing else. I really enjoyed it - fresh tasting meat and a nice blend of ingredients. I didn't eat all of the bread that came with my lobster since I wanted to save space for their Key Lime pie. So glad I did too. It's not that "green glop" some places serve. This is a classic pale yellow/green filling over a really tasty crust - winner! And if you like sweets, I think you should try it when you go. In fact, the portion was so generous, we shared one serving and we both felt satisfied. Wonderful service - Christine is a jewel - nice (a bit noisy) room and well cooked, tasty food. Recommended read more

Stopped in today with Wifey since the kids were out and we wanted someone else to cook for us one last time before the end of a long holiday weekend. We arrived after the normal lunch time (and after the Women's World Cup win) so the place wasn't packed and we were seated right away. Our waitress was over quickly with waters and we ordered a couple cocktails. Wifey got a crushed grapefruit mojito and I had a Tanqueray and tonic. Bartender did a nice job with both. Wifey decided on the shrimp and garlic tacos and I had the fish and chips. Wifey really liked the tacos- said they tasted fresh and loved the pico and chipotle aioli. Also loved that they weren't drenched in sauce and came without cheese...though I'm sure they'd add some if you asked. My fish and chips were very, very tasty, though a bit pricey at $19. Three nice sized pieces of what I assume was cod in a light beer batter. Not fried into oblivion, but rather they were fried just enough to be done and were moist and delicious. Add a little malt vinegar and tarter and you have a hit. My fries were also very good - ask for some Old Bay - a nice touch. It was probably the right amount of food...but I probably could have done with another piece of fish. Once again we had a great meal here at Crabby's. Great menu, great service. Give them a try... read more

Owner and Patrons beware. Some shady stuff going on at Mr. Crabbys. Came for a quick date night, sit at the bar have a few appetizers and drinks. Two sisters were working the bar. At first they didn't take our card to start a tab but later did. The younger of the two went to have a drink with what seemed like a manager while the older one went outside with another employee. They left what looked like a bus boy to man the bar. I guess the younger sister noticed we were looking around so she downed her wine and came to bring us a check. We were puzzled as to why she didn't run our card and she said some people like to pay cash. That was understandable but when she ran our card and gave us the bill to sign, she handed us a pencil. To the obvious dismay of her and her sister (she showed her sister after) we had a pen and weren't born yesterday. As business owners we have seen their game before. The manager coming behind the bar and helping themselves to impress a young lady, a bar employee drinking on the job with a convenient pencil and eraser. I don't know If the intention was to screw me over or their employer. Please know I don't dislike Mr. crabbys as a restaraunt, I just dont like feeling like I'm being scammed. read more

What HAPPENED to this place? The server was wonderful, but the food was NOT. Clam chowder was watery and flavorless. Lobster mac n cheese was swimming in a drippy bechamel, could not taste any cheese. Battered fish was unpleasantly mushy on the inside. Tiny piece of pie was over baked and dried out. For food that pricy we expected much, much better. Hadn't been there in a long time, don't need to go back. read more

I spent a lovely time with friends tonight at Mr. Crabby's tonight. I ordered the Wildside Chicken. I have attached a screenshot of the description of the meal in their own words. What I got was 4 pieces of shrimp that were delicious, cold broccoli that butter didn't even melt & very crunchy, and a thigh & leg. Let's not even forget the rice they called wild rice, just looked like rice they spiced up (almost darker than maple stain), and it tasted like it came from a box rice that sat around so don it was stale. Now the waitress was really good about it and did offer to replace the meal. I turned it down because I would be holding up my party. The manager only charged me for the 4 shrimp I ate. The service was good, the soup was ok, I left being hungry because I didn't get what was offered in the menu. My suggestion to the owners, if you run out of a piece of meat, always check with your customers in regards to the substitution. If I had that option, I would have gotten the fish, ate my meal with my party, and wouldn't have to drive 45 minutes home, hungry. I'm will to give it a second chance, but not right away. So here are my ratings for tonight: Waiting staff: 5 Manager: 3 Dinner: -5 Total score: 3 star read more

I've been to Crabby's twice. Once for drinks and appetizers outside with my wife, then dinner and drinks with the guys another time. A couple of Pro's...The atmosphere here is really nice. Sitting outdoors on a nice day for a couple of drinks was very nice (even if you are just looking at Rt 10). The bar is beautiful. Really well done and I love the Penn State flag! Not so hot...The food was average and high priced. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times as well. Bottom line for me is that if I just want to head somewhere quick for drinks and appetizers, Crabby's is an option. read more

Solid spot for a casual dinner! We went on a Friday night and they had live music which was fun to see considering most restaurants haven't been doing it post-covid. It was super loud in there but still enjoyable! The ambiance has a very beach-bar vibe, and their menu has a huge variety of seafood. I ordered the pear sangria which was delicious! The apps we got were the calamari and the coconut shrimp which were delicious! Our server was super busy (and i assume that they are reducing table talking for covid cautions) so we didn't see him a whole lot, however he was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Dinner we had the fish n chips which were delicious, and the cod tacos which were just okay. Not bad by any means, just not impressive. I would definitely come back and give them another shot in the near future. Seems like the perfect spot for after a beach day! read more

Gave this place another try. Food and service was good, prices have gone WAY up. The server pushed a house specialty alcoholic beverage, wife fell for the scam and it was all juice and zero booze. Crazy... They offer a 7% cash discount, if you don't have cash then they charge you 4% on top of the already overinflated prices. Visited last Friday, place was kind of empty, the "Crabby" payment policy and watered down drinks most likely the reason. Will I make the mistake of visiting again another 5 years from now... doubt it. Plenty of "better" dining experiences in the area, no need for anyone to ever visit Crabbys. read more

This is our first time back to this restaurant in probably 20 years when it was under a different name. From what I understand there are new owners as of a little less than a year ago. This restaurant has done a total about face. It is beautiful inside and out The crabcakes are absolutely the best I've ever tried. The servers and employees are extremely pleasant and sincere. I can't imagine what you find such good people these days. I believe the employees attitude comes from the top down. The place has a very wonderful vibe. I also noticed that at the bar no matter how packed this place would get you would never miss a play on there, giant television it's a great sports bar, a great restaurant, and even a place where you could have a private event whether it be a wedding or any similar event. The crabcakes I wholeheartedly recommend as they were probably the best I've ever had in my life! I am usually extremely critical about restaurants and don't make, many reviews if any about restaurants. I have to say Mr. crabby's is certainly the exception and the fact that it's a seafood restaurant says even more. My wife and I wholeheartedly recommend whether it be the sandwich or the crabcakes. I'm sure everything on the menu even the sushi and the rest is just as good if not better than one. The servers were particularly attentive and extremely pleasant. Fortunately we were there during an off time and I was free to roam around with my camera phone. Bon appétit..... read more

Waiter was very good, the temperature in the building was too cold. The burgers that we ordered medium well were medium rare, we took some of it to go however, when we were there 6 months ago, they drew a crowd, unfortunately this should have been a sign when there were 10 people on a Saturday afternoon. We Came in for a lobster roll and some lobster bisque. The service was excellent. The place is very clean and organized with very friendly staff. The lobster roll was a giant disappointment. They used the wrong kind of roll. It was way too big for the small amount of lobster meat served. If you enjoy a nice big mouth full of bread with no lobster meat, then this is for you . The roll should be a top split hotdog roll. The sides of roll should be buttery and Crisp like a grilled cheese sandwich not slightly buttered and warmed for the Connecticut style lobster roll. The lobster was dry and over cooked and they put shredded lettuce on the bottom of the roll. It was nice and soggy like seaweed. Lettuce should never be on a lobster roll whether it's Maine style or Connecticut Style. Ask any New Englander. It's lobster and mayo or lobster and butter. The lobster bisque was equally disappointing. It contained two pieces of lobster meat and did not taste like lobster at all. It had a strange creamy taste as if they simmered it with cheese whiz from a can. I've had better store-bought lobster bisque from legal seafood, or even ShopRite. The jersey fries were excellent. Very crispy, soft in the inside and flavorful. read more
