So, our kids ate our food, and after a very long wait, their dish finally came out. By that point we had already been there for about one hour. They gave us a free ice cream dessert to make up for it but the additional time we had to spend there wasn't really worth it. We were there for nearly 90 minutes because of this oversight. So, it's a good place, and I know people make mistakes, but it kind of put a damper on what would've been a great family dinner. Can't say if we will return in the future.

The broth was rich and flavorful, the fat fragrant but not greasy; the noodles were thin and straight, firm and chewy; the wakame seaweed is crisp and refreshing, adding to the umami flavor, and the fresh green onions are just right in terms of crispness and aroma. As a Hakata ramen, everything is perfect. But for me, it would be even better if the chashu were a bit thicker and fattier. They only accept cash, and the space is cramped, which is a bit inconvenient. But it's still worth eating alone.

However, I have to warn future customers to not bring any valuables that can absorb odors. :') I had a large plastic tote with a Coach purse & Sony headphones inside. Both were inside the tote the entire time we ate. It's been 3 days & I still can't get the smell of onion/garlic out of my headphones. The smell mostly faded from my tote & my purse after being hung outside with baking soda packets for a few days, but I think my headphones are a lost cause. I took off the ear pads, washed them, & wiped down the rest of the headphones as thoroughly as possible, but the fragrance persists. I only got the smell out of my clothes by doing an extra wash with vinegar. To be clear, I didn't spill broth on my belongings or anything -- the air in the restaurant just smells so strongly of onion/garlic that it seeps into your things. The food is great. Enjoy the food. I have been here a handful of times and it is a reliable choice for comfort food. They have these daily bento specials with ramen, sushi, and appetizers that look like a great deal. I tried, but they are intriguing. The main downside is the broth quality compared to the price. There are definitely more authentic ramen spots in the city if you are a purist. You can tell the base is not a homemade tonkatsu broth, which is a bit of a letdown for what they charge. Still, it is a decent spot for a quick meal. * Tempura Ramen (7/10): The tempura is a total highlight because it is served on a separate plate to keep it from getting soggy, though the broth itself is fairly standard. I actually think this would be the perfect spot to solo dine! It was busy for Friday night dinner but I managed to grab a table for 1. First you order by the entrance & after ordering, they you a table to sit + bring your order to your table when it's ready. You have around 40 min max to eat (when it's busy). I ordered just the Spicy Roasted Miso Avocado Sushi Roll (4 pieces), ~$10. This served as a great snack! It was flavorful, but of course had no meat because they do vegan dishes + ramen here. I remember coming here before, a while ago, and not being the biggest fan of their ramen. Not really because it was meatless but the broth was a bit too thick for my own personal liking. So, I would definitely come back again and get this avocado roll! I might consider trying their ramen again too. Staff were very kind!

And her impact was proven while we were there last night because some kids asked their parents to come in as they were walking by just to say hello to her. Every time I come, she recalls exactly how I like my hot pot sauce and which unique beverage each of our family member will likely order. Fairy is an intimate setting. Not too loud. There's a strong following from the neighborhood. Their AYCE hot pot offering is reasonable in price and choices up against all the other hotpot choices in Quincy. Their ala carte menu is just as satisfying. We also enjoy a frozen smoothy to go with dinner. My favorite is banana avocado or red bean. There are ample free apps that come with AYCE hotpot. My favorites are fried oysters and coconut shrimp. From there is ordering from a huge variety of meats, vegetables, and other hot pot fixings. Love their hand made dragon fruit shrimp paste and giant clams. But for my family, it is really always all about the choice beef - fat cow. I never leave hungry. There's nothing like the taste of the unique broth resulting in all of the foods you cook in the hotpot. I love to enjoy a bowl of the broth at the end of the meal. The kids enjoy the included ice cream.

Four words: spicy cold niku udon. The signature is also good!…read more I've been a fan of Yume ever since I found out about it when I went to Tufts for college. It was the Asian-American community's go-to spot for dine-in, take-out, or both! This was back when they had their location in the Lesley University food court too - people would be lining up for 30+ minutes to get a coveted seat at one of their humble seats. I look fondly on when they would yell "perfect" whenever I finished my bowl, praising how I slurped every freshly cut udon noodle and devoured every ounce of broth or crispy tempura bit they put in there. The new location is just a few stores down, still in/out of the Lesley University mall area. It has a nice ambiance and feels less cramped. While I miss the "perfect" yelling, the flavor still tastes just as good even if it's gotten an insane amount of hype since then. Would highly recommend ordering takeout if you're in a rush - they do it very efficiently, both at the original Cambridge location and the new Seaport location too. So, I ordered the spicy hot Niki udon and my bf ordered the hot Niki udon. The spicy one was good. I know the bowl looks red and scary but I promise it's not actually that spicy- just enough for a little kick. Broth was flavorful and has good balance of savory/spicey/just a bit of sweetness. However, my bf's non-spicy wasn't as good. The broth was weirdly a little too sweet? It also kinda reminds me of a curry broth which we weren't expecting. He wasn't happy with his broth and preferred my spicy broth. Besides the broth, the actual items in the soup were delicious. The noodles are very thick, slightly bouncy (but not as bouncy as I prefer) and taste fresh. They give you a good portion of beef which is tender. There are probably like 2 tbsp of green onions which was amazing bc I love green onion! And the green onions weren't spicy, just fresh. I think what really leveled the bowl up was the pieces of tempura which added a nice texture. I actually finished my whole bowl and didn't need a takeout container which rarely happens. So each bowl is enough for like one serving (do not share!). There is an open kitchen type situation so I could kind of peak over the counter and see the chefs. They played music on a volume louder than average, but there were good songs. Overall, I would not recommend the hot Niki udon but the spicy Niki udon is great. I do want to try their infamous cold udon which is broth-less. Service was quick and staff were very nice.
