I found this place on my own when I moved close-by. After probably forty orders, I still recommend this restaurant to my friends. The food is always fresh, the fried foods are always tender and (My favorite) egg foo yung is right on-point! Only once was it less-than-satisfactory when I walked in at closing time. The counter staff is VERY pleasant. The portions are large. The dishes are wonderful. I'll always be a regular here. No place else I can go to get a combo with lo mein, egg fo yung, chicken (or beef) teriyaki and a great egg roll for ONLY $14.00. This is more of a take-out, although there are two dining tables. No flavour what so ever! Their was some sort of black sauce all over every thing. It was not sweet it was not salty. Basically it had no taste or flavor. And their were no Chinese vegetables. It was just regular broccoli , carrots and snow peas. So I don't understand why the menu option says Chinese vegetables. The tofu was raw. All I can say this place is for those that enjoy meat and standard American Chinese fast food. Not for me. I will say the attendant or owner was friendly. This was my number one favorite place for YEARS. Never had any issues or problems. But they must have changed the oil or something because the last two times I've gotten the food, I've had the worst heartburn ever, and I never get heartburn (and boy do I hope it stays that way!) I was not fair in the number of stars I gave in my previous review. It is good, not just ok; strictly a take out place as there's only two booths though they are generally free. I still love the Teriyaki beef and spicy chicken wings. The Peking Ravioli are a bit too doughy for me. I am a bit dubious of the processing of the chicken fingers, they have a fair amount of excess oil present. Maybe a quick spin in a small centrifuge and maybe replace the oil a little more often. read more

I am so sad to see this local and great Chinese restaurant have three stars here on Yelp when it is definitely worth more than three stars in my book. A place that was recommended to me from my former manager and we ordered here last year for New Year's Eve and it was nothing but the best. This year we decided to order the next day on New Year's Day and it still was fabulous. When you walk in it is a small restaurant with only a few tables to dine so we always order out delivery or pick up depending on your ZIP Code. We love their Pu Pu platter for two; which offers lots of variety, freshness of food, & taste that pair well with a sweet riesling or any type of white wine of your choice. I went here for the second time last night since I loved my takeout from them the first time. I ordered vegetable fried rice. The menu says you can order any rice with sub gum so that's how I asked for it. I was really excited when I saw that option. I didn't wait to long before my food was done. I'll start with the positive: chicken wings are good. Crunchy on the outside just like I like and meaty on the inside. The beef teriyaki was thick, huge and delicious. Not chewy or over cooked. The last time I was there, see photos posted, I loved the chicken, onions, green peppers and celery. Also, their crab rangoon was filled pretty good with a nice crunchy shell. Negatives were the chicken fingers. Eek! I bit into one and could not even chew the chicken. I actually looked at it to see if it was actually chicken because it was so rubbery. Tried a second one and it was ok. Tried a third and the same rubbery "chicken" was inside. I ended up throwing them away. The rice wasn't anything special. It did have water chestnuts in it which I love but there was no great flavor to it and I think ordering it Sub gum style didn't make any difference. All in all I have had way better experiences at other Chinese places. And to the guy who took my order, let me give you a tip. Try not to make faces at what people order! read more

Nothing special here in this hole-in-the-wall I found on my lunch break today that is in a strip mall with about 10 other stores. I ordered the pepper steak with pork fried rice and crab rangoons. The rangoons were greasy and fell apart easily upon biting down on them. The duck sauce was standard and fine as a dipping sauce. The steak showed a little red, so it was barely cooked since it was already razor thin. It was tender but this still scared me a bit. We're not talking about month aged porterhouse here from a high end steakhouse that you can order rare and not really worry about.....this is lower quality beef that should be at least cooked to medium, if not medium well. The pork fried rice had some burnt pieces of pork in it, although it wasn't overly greasy. The dish in general had too much goopy sauce, little flavor and either burnt pieces or undercooked pieces of meat. Not anywhere close to my expectations. The heat melted a bit of the sides; leaching into the food. I ate 'here' too. Styrofoam and plastic forks. Went to the Golden Crown today on New Years Eve. Called at 4:30 and was told order would be ready at 8:30, but because of the upcoming holiday, found that understandable. Was hoping the food would be worth the wait, and sadly that was not the case. The General Gao's chicken, had zero flavor, was over cooked, and consisted mostly of batter with a hint of chicken. This batter vs meat filling was a consistent theme, as the chicken in the chicken fingers and the shrimp in the fried shrimp were nearly impossible to find. All in all, I would take a pass on this restaurant unless all the other Chinese restaurants in the area all go out of business first. read more

This was my favorite Chinese food until today. Lately the food hasn't been that good. I have given them 3 tries in the last 3 months. Each time the food gets worst. The food is Subpar at best now. Hot food is placed directly onto styrofoam package containers which allows the food to directly absorb the chemicals/BPA. We purposely ordered items that typically come in paper box and did not order a mixed meal to avoid this problem. Our fault for not first inquiring about the use of styrofoam. This ruined my order. I did eat from the middle that had not touched the styrofoam and found the low mein to be extremely salty and the sesame chicken would have been average to good if it had not been touched by the styrofoam. After two years of living out here I still love this place ... The Chinese that I order is the typical lo mein, spare ribs, wings, and rice. While I have not tried anything else, I have had great experiences with my food. It is very difficult to find good Chinese food in the suburbs... So I am happy that they are out here. read more
