Boneless Spareribs General Gau's Chicken

bussalicious the food is really yummy and perfect. the spare ribs are so good. the service is also good.

This review applies for VEGANS. I ordered tofu with veggies and Chinese Vegetables with rice $21 I requested no MSG and they nicely did not put any MSG. But every thing was extremely unmemorable. No flavour what so ever! Their was some sort of black sauce all over every thing. It was not sweet it was not salty. Basically it had no taste or flavor. And their were no Chinese vegetables. It was just regular broccoli , carrots and snow peas. So I don't understand why the menu option says Chinese vegetables. The tofu was raw. All I can say this place is for those that enjoy meat and standard American Chinese fast food. Not for me. I will say the attendant or owner was friendly. This is one of those walk up order at the counter and take away or sit at a few of the booths but every thing will be in take away containers I wish we had these style Chinese Shops on the west coast..

Generic. I ordered the #6. Sweet and Sour Chicken w. Pork fried rice. My appetizer was chicken teriyaki. The other review about the BPA styrofoam was super accurate. The heat melted a bit of the sides; leaching into the food. I ate 'here' too. Styrofoam and plastic forks. The chicken was okay, but the fried rice and the fried breading on the s&s chicken had the distinct smell/flavor of old fry oil. If they kept the oil fresh, the food would be much better.

The food comes in the mail and the soda taste expired. Sticky tables and only supply's one napkin per person. Overall a sucky experience.

Good old american chinese food. Better to get them when they are busy or at peak times. I always take out so that I get hot food.

When it comes to cheap eats, I prefer Chinese over other carbs because I can get vegetables with my food and still pretend like I'm being healthy. There's one of these places in every decently sized town and New Mei Garden is no exception: unassuming, plainly decorated with a sign straight out of the 90's? I'm there. After an Uber Eats fiasco where the delivery drivers played hot potato with my order on a rainy night--I recently moved to Braintree and apparently delivery from a restaurant 4.5 miles away is a no-go--I picked up the phone and called for pickup. Things were dire. I was hangry. This hit the spot. I got the hot and sour soup and the beef with green beans and pork fried rice combo platter. It was fast and fresh; the green beans were nice and crunchy and the fried rice had that wok hei flavor I can never get in my homemade version. I picked up within ten minutes of placing the order. Be advised that there is a $15 minimum if you're paying with a credit card.

Totally incongruous with the surrounding environment. Walked in... nothing fancy. Maybe 5 tables. The food was just not good. I had the big wonton soup ( the one with all the extras ). The broth was very bland. The wontons were the nice thin wrappers, but the filling tasted "off". And there was enough noodles in the bowl to make it difficult to eat. I ate a few bites and left the rest. I also ordered the boneless spare ribs. They had a nice cook to them. Nice color. Nice charing. But... just not flavorful, and dry. Very dry. I ate a few pieces, and left the rest. Over all, I would not recommend nor return.

It is literally across from a condo complex and offers 3 parking spaces in the front. Inside there is a relatively clean front room and a back room that is simply decorated. I highly recommend the wontons ($13 w/o tax) with noodle soup as it tastes very bouncy and not too salty. The beef chow foon ($16 w/o tax) has wok hei (smoky) taste to it. The lemongrass chicken on rice ($14 w/o tax) is okay. Service is friendly and prompt. There is one bathroom for customer use.

Too bad they did not do the same with the peanut sauce for the rama crispy duck. But still everything was good. And the 4 jumbo shrimp were quite large, and exceedingly crispy. The same broccoli, snow peas, carrots, and diced bell peppers were nicely formed into a nest under both the crispy shrimp and the crispy duck, while the Mixed Vegetables included yellow squash, zucchini, some leafy greens and baby corn with the carrots, broccoli and bell pepper strips. I noticed a dated sign in the window, celebrating their anniversary in April with a free dessert for those dining in and hitting a certain spend amount. *** January 2026 Their chicken satay sadly seems to have shrunk in the new year. We selected duck as the protein on the pad Thai and it was a good portion. And they provided plenty of tofu in our entree, which came with white rice.

I'm pretty much a fan of anything with peanut sauce. We both got pho for our main dishes, which were delicious. I had the Round steak & beef meatballs PHO, which was awesome, with the two types of meat. My friend enjoyed her Vegetables and Tofu Pho. The restaurant was pretty nice for a casual restaurant. The gentleman who helped us was welcoming, offered us tea, and got our table ready right away. It seemed like they were a bit short-staffed, as service started off slow. We ordered the shrimp fresh rolls, which were very fresh and tasty. The fried rolls were also delicious--the pork was moist and flavorful. The eye round pho had a flavorful broth, but the chicken pho was bland and almost sweet. Someone else at the table tried it and mentioned it tasted slightly like seafood. Both rice plates we ordered had very flavorful meat. The last dish we tried (not pictured) was the vermicelli combo bowl with a fried roll, chopped pork, and grilled shrimp, which was really tasty. For drinks, we ordered the brown sugar boba. It wasn't very sweet, and while that may appeal to some, I personally wished it were sweeter. The boba pearls were a mix of hard and chewy, which took away from the drink. The gentleman who assisted us was very attentive and even suggested how to dip the meat in different sauces to make it more flavorful. He was really attentive and kind. Overall, I'd rate our experience a 3 out of 5. It was decent, but I'm not sure I'd be in a rush to return.
