Hit some of the old standbys -- chicken with broccoli, crab rangoons, lo mein and won ton soup. They were able to accommodate my request for lo mein without onions which is a good sign for its freshness. Chicken had a nice tang -- maybe from soy sauce or a rice wine vinegar. How many times does a Yelper need to order food from a restaurant until a coherent review starts to form in their mind? With Lucky Dragon, I think the lucky number is four, because after three times I still struggle... might just be the procrastination. Please bear with me as I stumble through my fading memory. Big Picture: what it comes down to is the purpose of your order. If you're having friends over for a party, Lucky Dragon fits the bill just fine. If you're craving Chinese food (and your palate is like mine) you might want to look elsewhere. The only notable thing is that the boneless spare-ribs are not chewy. Too many places make sweet, reddish rubber! Other items have been remarkably 'eh'. For example: Chicken Fingers: chicken was fine, but the amount of breading was excessive. Think of a cigarettes inside of a cigar for a visual. Yikes! Crab-Rangoons: I've been spoiled with these things... I have had them [elsewhere] straight out of the fryer with perfect balance of filling. These were fine, nothing terrible, but not the kind I'd devour with the zeal of a wood-chipper! Pork Fried Rice: Gets the job done. It is noted that the flavor of the rice had slightly more pronounced soy-sauce notes than do some other places. General Gau's chicken: It may just be my fire-proof taste buds, but I did not detect any heat in this dish. In any case, the chicken was fine, but nothing to write home about. I should note, generally I love when chicken like this preserves a little crispiness, and this one did not (I know with sauce this is very tough - so no points deducted). I thought they deserved a good review all be it late. We liked this place for all the basic reasons. The place was basic but clean & orderly. The service was good & friendly. While on Uber eats I was looking at the deals section. And while I was on said section I came across several BOGO deals from Lucky Dragon in Quincy. It was quite a drive for an Uber driver to go from Quincy to Winthrop so no matter what I was going to tip the driver well. The driver did an excellent job keeping it hot . Fortunately the food was good, my kids had some fries which were part of the bogo deal and some of their chicken fingers. The chicken Fingers were meaty it doesn't cheap out on the chicken. The roast pork fried rice was also bogo and a great price. Those alone could have been good enough for two meals but I also got Bogo Egg Rolls and those were tasty too and a small side of boneless spareribs which are my kryptonite . My apologies for not providing any pictures but we dug in quick before I could take any. My one critique is some items on their menu seem a bit price gauged .... Like their 2 liter bottles of soda . This has been my "go to" place for takeout. Not anymore. While the prices have gone up the quality of the food has gone down. My favorite dish, Singapore rice noodles now has more noodles than anything else. Their chicken wings are still great but the prices have gone way up. Egg rolls are thick. Wow this is embarassing. My bf went to pick this up and when we opened the food, it was just mainly peppers and a bit of steak drenched in oil. The boneless ribs were hard and also was drenched in oil. The amount of peppers and steak used is un-proportionate. My bf is not happy about this. We will take our business elsewhere. Stopped by this place while in the area and found the food very fresh, so I thought I would give it a second try. It did not disappoint. While they do serve your typical Chinese American fare they also have food that you would find in Chinatown. The restaurant was clean, the staff friendly and was very attentive to our needs. My wife started out with the hot and sour soup. It was loaded with Tofu and not canned mushrooms but fresh ones. How often do you see fresh mushroom in your hot and sour soup? She stuck with the Americanized food by getting the combination plate which had Chicken Lo Mein, chicken teriyaki, and an egg roll. The chicken teriyaki was nice and tender, the egg roll fresh and crisp. She thought the Lo Mein could have had more chicken, but it was delicious none the less. I couldn't make up my mind so I ordered the beef and veggie over noodles and the Chinatown rice plate with the salt and spicy pork chops. The noodle dish was amazing, the beef was tender and the noodles crispy, the pork chops were cooked just right, nice and moist. I used be a regular until I left the area but I occasional order pick-up when I do. Normally only do pick-up as dining-in is pointless for me. Dining-in experience is good. Not bad. Don't expect any bread if you're familiar with the more Americanized-style when dining in. This isn't a big deal to me since typical Asian dinner does not have bread (we eat rice... durr... order up). Food overall is good. I prefer their rice plates over noodles. Seems a bit healthier than your typical Chinese-Americanized restaurant. Less oily, greasy. Wings are always good. My partner was looking at the menu and ordered spicy chicken wings. There was a young man and older guy behind the counter shaking their heads as if they were out of spicy chicken?? The gravy was good, but different from the norm. The beef teriyaki was pretty good tho. Very meaty, juicy and had that Chinese boom we look for when we order chinese. The spicy chicken was simply fried chicken covered in a bazillion red pepper flakes. The flakes didnt stick to the chicken so when you grab the chicken, you get a handful of flakes. It was a mess. The boyfriend and I regularly get take out from here (it's on his way home from work) and it's pretty consistent with huge portions but I don't know that it's anything to go out of your way for. They do, however, make excellent chicken wings, and full sized, which you almost never get when you order wings from pizza or wing places. You could happily have the large chicken wings for dinner. I usually get a combo dinner which is 2-3 meals for me. I tend to stick to the Americanized stuff--General Gau's, sesame or orange chicken, or the sweet chili chicken if I'm looking for a little spicy kick--and it's all good. Heavy on the breading usually. Amount of sauce is hit or miss. Pork fried rice is basic. Lo mein is tasty for a nice substitute. The beef with mushrooms has tons of mushrooms and I like the brown sauce --I get this as comfort food with the boiled rice. Pad thai is ok. You always get a good 3 large shrimp but i find the huge pieces of scallion and the heavy helping of bean sprouts a bit unsettling. But then again, I'm not expecting top notch pad thai at a chinese food place. For apps, as I said, chicken wings by far the best. I also think the beef teriyaki is solid and the crab rangoons are tasty--they do not skimp on the cream cheese! Peking ravioli is hit or miss. I feel like every time I get them they're soggy but my boyfriend manages to get better orders. Scallion pancakes are also pretty good--again occasionally a bit soggy and occasionally the soy sauce spills from how they pack it. On one last note, I find the leftovers hold up well. The lo mein is good cold; any leftovers reheated make excellent hangover fare. And of course you can't go wrong with either cold or reheated chicken wings...but you knew I was going to say that. read more

My favorite items are the Chinatown rice plates, Thai basil fried rice, crab rangoons and the wonton soup. I love that the wonton soup isn't loaded with lots of soy sauce. It's perfect the way it is. If you order more than $15 worth of food, you get a spring roll, an egg roll, or a soda for free. It doesn't stop there.
