Their minimum machine price is $6.25, and their bill exchange only takes multiples of $5, meaning that if you have to use the exchanger, you will be left over with laundry tokens which will find its way into your cup holder or in your change jar, which is the equivalent to lost/ unused money. The location is convenient and because it's in a strip mall with several banks and a grocery store, it's easy to get change when the change machines in the laundry aren't working. This is a bare bones laundry - no TV and only 1 bench. I usually bring a book or do my grocery shopping. They have a couple of carts to transfer your bags of laundry to your car or move from the washer to the dryer. I have an irrational hatred for laundromats that is far above and beyond the appropriate level of hatred that they deserve. I hate it so much that sometimes the only way for me to force myself to go is to pack it all up into the back seat of my car the night before work. (This often takes place on a Sunday afternoon after several hours of 'I don't want to - but I really need to - but I don't want to - okay, me: let's strike a deal.) ....and that's how I end up at a laundromat 35 miles away from my home (but just up the street from work). Anti-Laundromat-Prejudices aside, I have mixed feelings about this particular mat. In general it has much less of the chaotic ickiness that makes me twitch, but on the other hand it has less of the things that make it efficient/practical to use. Let's break it down: Pros: - No screaming/racing children, sketchy tweekers, homeless people, or weirdos. (Not to say that there has never been one here, but I personally have never seen one in my handful of visits.) The parking lot/plaza is across the street from the high school and so is often patrolled by security - I think this helps with the weirdo/tweeker/homeless issue. - It's in a safe, well-lit plaza full of places you can walk around and pop in and out of while you wait for your loads to finish. This includes a grocery, dollar store, drug store, several food joints, bank, cheap hair cuts, and other various commodities. Cons: - It is small, and the type/number of machines is pretty limited. I never have any problem with this on my week night visits, but I can imagine it being a significant issue on the weekends/peak hours. - EXPENSIVE! It costs me about $25 to do what would normally take me $15 to do down in my 'hood. - No timers on any of the machines. Washing machines it's not as big of a deal bc you can kind of 'guesstimate' when to come back, but the dryers are pretty annoying because you have no idea how many minutes your quarter is getting you, so no idea how many to put in. (I suspect it's intentional so they can sneakily gouge you here - I think this is where most of my money goes.) I thoroughly checked every sign on every wall and didn't find this posted anywhere. Meh. - The loading/unloading situation is not so ideal. It's in a huge, shared, busy lot with plenty of parking, but since it's shared there is no guarantee you will end up anywhere near the mat. You may end up having to park across the relatively busy/heavily trafficked aisle and making several trips across with large loads of laundry in your hands - not particularly fun. Also, the plaza is built on a hill and so has several sets of stairs built into the sidewalk (one of which happens to be right in front of the mat) making for yet another obstacle to maneuver while carrying/balancing a full laundry basket. And the nice little cherry on top is that the laundry carts won't go outside - so no 'easy button' there. - The machines are hit and miss. Two equal loads in side by side dryers: One will finish in about 20 minutes, the one next to it in 40. Annoying because of the extra quarters, and because of the extra time and the wrench thrown into your plan of attack. - You need quarters. :/ I know that's still fairly common - but it's still a pain in the butt and there are plenty of other places you can go where this is not the case. They do have change machines, however - but this still requires you to have the proper amount of bill-change to plug in there. So yeah.... Lots of cons and only a couple of pros... even if the pros are aesthetically nice, they're not really enough to cancel out that sheer number of cons. Only reason I keep coming back is that I do so infrequently enough to not have bothered to research a better near-work option (yet). read more

I kind of like just the name Mr. Bubbles. When I see or hear anything "bubble related" it reminds me of the ads they used to run in comic books back in the early 1980's promoting Mr. Bubbles bubble bath. He was a pink cartoon bubble that promoted cleanliness to dirty kids around the world. He also sold t-shirts and sweatshirts for 15 bucks. Good old Mr. Bubble...I wonder what he's doing tonight? That precious childhood memory is ninja chopped in the face inside Mr. Bubbles laundry in Vista. The facility is nice. It's clean, big, and has plenty of washers and dryers of various sizes to knock the laundry out. It was also NOT crowded and that = awesome. I will say it's a little pricier than most facilities but we're talking a few quarters here so lets not get too angry people. I used the huge 14 load washer that fit everything. It was quick, got my stuff nice and clean and the spin cycle reached warp speed. They also had like 50 TV's mounted around the perimeter of the store which was great! I sat down on the bench and enjoyed.........absolutley nothing. Every stupid TV was off? Not even an infomercial or a bubble trying to sell me something....just the sound of washers, dryers and the oppressive Vista heat. Not cool Mr. Bubble. So, while you wait you can eat some Thai food, do your taxes, shop at Albertsons, take a Karate class, open a account at Chase or hit up CVS. This is basically my go to Laundromat when I need to wash stuff not at my house. Like when I'm being lazy and would rather do all my laundry at once instead of 4 loads, or my comforter that's too big to fit in my washer or dryer. The main reason I like it, is because its open pretty late (11PM) and it is in a pretty good area. Unfortunately most Laundromats are in crappy areas and then I don't like going at night. There isn't much seating space, I guess that is my biggest complaint with this place. Other then that, I have never had a problem with machines not working, or too many people there or anything. It will definitely continue to be my go to read more

This place is usually pretty clean, and the prices here are cheaper than my neighboring apartment complex's laundry rooms prices once they started nickel and dime-ing me (who charges like 60¢ more for using hot water?!). The 10 load washer here breaks down a lot and eats quarters, so just make sure if you try and close the door that it activates a different prompt screen before you get everything loaded in and have to move it to the smaller 6 loaders. 10 loader is like $9.75, 6 loader is $6.25, 4 Loader is $5.25. They have a ton of two load washers that are $2.00. Dryers you get 5-7 minutes per quarter depending on which one you use. The big dryers give you 7 minutes for the first quarter and only 6 minutes every subsequent quarter. I don't know why. Great hours. Open early, stays open late til 11pm, open 7 days a week. We leave and come back and take the load out of the washer to put in the dryer. Except the sheets are missing. Someone stole our sheets! Who does that?! Straight up, 3 stars. It's not phenomenal because there seems to be a broken machine every time I go in. And the outcome of dried clothes for each dryer is quite varied. But in this economy and in particular areas, this is as best as it gets. One, there isn't one near so there's absolutely no competition. Two, price point, its a bit on the high side. The smallest of the dryers, 1 quarter will get you approximately 6 minutes and a few seconds. I find that to be odd that they don't have an exact time but then again, it doesn't seem my quarters go far here. You have to watch out for the dryers, some of them have bent metal. Unfortunately, a clothing item got caught on those and tore just a bit. ugh. But alluding to what Honey P. put in her review, I agree, coin operated machines are a bit dated for such a high price we pay. I mean, aren't they operating on credit card now? Or how about free wifi? I've seen tons of places of where I've driven that has free wifi. I wish they would upgrade the machines or at least fix the drying time on the machines. 2 dollars for a small washer wash is a bit exorbitant but then again, when you don't have any other closer laundromat, you gotta deal with it. Had to bring comforters to wash. Machines cost more than I'm used to. But then again, I'm used to laundry mats in Los Angeles. It's a pretty small place with only 4 six load machines which Is what I needed to put my blankets in and one of them was broken. Dryers were quick. My only complaint was none of the washers or dryers tell you how long you have on the cycle or even how long a cycle is. read more

My kid peed all over our comforter last night and of course my washing machine breaks this morning so I figured I could bring a set of sheets and one comforter to wash until we can get our machine repaired. Nope. Only small machines which hold 15 or so clothing items. When we lived in Oceanside, we used to use Oceana Laundromat and that place was awesome. This one sucks. Our washer was broken and this was the closest laundromat to us. I used the top loading washers and it didn't clean my clothes at all. Some of the load didn't even get fully wet. My towels still had the smell of beach and chlorine on them. I should have known better. A coin operated laundromat in 2010? Of course the machines were super outdated. The dryers burned some of my shirts. Some of the silk screened patterns got crumply and some shirts got fuzzy. I am super bummed that I compromised 2 loads of my clothes at this place. read more

I like coming to this laundry mat, I usually come when its not too busy that's during midday on the weekdays. When I do come it's slow, machines are good. The pricing I think is about average for a laundry mat. It's clean, and in a shopping center so if you get hungry you have a grocery store, and CVS and dollar tree nearby can't beat that. Overall location has very little seating so be prepared to sit in your car while you wait for your laundry. WASHERS: The washers seem small for the indicated load sizes. A 3-load washer looks more like a 2-load washer size at the laundromat I used to go to in San Diego, but it's priced at a 4-load price (used to pay $1/load as a base, plus extra depending on what wash settings you used). So basically this place seems way overpriced based on the small cruddy old machines. DRYERS: I read the reviews about this place that complain about not being able to see how much time was left on their clothes and figured I could deal with that because I could just use my phone to figure out how much time was left. The problem is there isn't any indication how much time you get per quarter on the dryer in the first place! I put 6 quarters in and that ended up running the dryer for 30 min which seems really expensive to me considering I got 7 min per quarter down in San Diego when I lived there and the laundromat was far better in terms of service and amenities! To make matters worse, when my clothes stopped spinning in the dryer, they were still totally wet and cold despite the temperature knob being all the way over on high. Also, there are apparently no employee working here for me to talk to about getting my money back... I won't be coming back to this place again. read more

I don't have a washer and dryer in my house at the moment, so luckily Mr. Bubbles is close by. I'm not a fan of laundromats in general, but this place is pretty clean and has nice machines. The people inside (who are not staff) are usually nice and there aren't a lot of sketchy characters around. The front loading machines are super nice and fast, but they also cost something like $4.25 a load, which is great if you combine multiple loads of laundry (or just have a ton of clothes to wash period). Unfortunately that doesn't really apply to me, so I use the top loading $2.00/load washers. I recommend Mr. Bubbles. read more
