A great restaurant .. we walked into Mr Big Fish on a Sat. Afternoon to have an early dinner. Our waiter Henri was wonderful. He treated us so respectfully and he was happy and upbeat. He told us about the specials and Happy Hour. I ordered a drink even though it wasn't what I normally order (I like sweet frozen drinks, they don't have them). He was patient and so friendly. He brought us this amazing fresh bread and butter. I ended up not caring for the drink as it was very strong and he gladly takes it off the tab and brought me Iced Tea! The place was very clean and where we were seated was quiet and we were able to visit. The food was delicious ! The fish, the au gratins were amazing . My husband and I ate at Mr. big Fish in Naples Florida on June 5. We had a wonderful waitress by the name of Maggie along with excellent service and delicious food. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that's looking for a good place to eat great atmosphere and reasonably priced my husband and I don't eat out often but I will definitely be eating here again. My husband and I are relatively new to Naples and went there after seeing other reviews and wanted some big, juicy and flavorful oysters on the half shell. We were NOT disappointed!! We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. Drinks were well made and the bar tender was very attentive. We then ordered the 2 dozen oysters: OMG they were amazing. Just as we had hoped. We have already been back twice since then and can say the oysters they serve rival any high end restaurants that fly in theirs and charge exorbitant prices. My husband and I had dinner this past Friday, June 19th and it was delicious. Our salads were nicely chilled and very fresh, the dressing is homemade and tasted so good. It's really nice having salad included in the price of the entree I had Haddock and my husband had Black Grouper; both were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We both had au Gratin Potatoes and the Broccoli which were wonderful accompaniments to our entrees. Our Server Krissy provided fabulous service and made our evening even more special. We found this restaurant right after they opened their doors and used to love it, but Wednesday night it was just ok. Disappointed that there is no identification for GF items and both soups on the menu contain gluten. Blue cheese salad dressing was very runny and without much flavor. My sautéed red grouper ($35) was very dry and fries were cold and bland and the coleslaw didn't have any flavor either. Server was in a rush, talked fast and his accent made him difficult to understand. wow! How does the kitchen do that! Calamari was out almost within five minutes of ordering, hot and crispy. Both entrees and sides also out fast and hot. Excellent in every way. We've dined at typical expensive restaurants and Mr. Big Fish puts many of them to shame. We were visiting Naples and happened to find this gem close by. The packed out place is casual and not in the least pretentious. The lovely hostess was not only beautiful but so kind and welcoming to us. The service from Lynn was great and she has a fantastic personality that makes you feel right at home. They start you out with their ridiculously good bread and that itself is a good indicator that you are in for a real treat. Their food was absolutely delicious, just perfectly cooked seafood without missing a beat. Ocean Prime used to be the best sea bass we've had until we tried theirs. Wow! Mr. Big Fish gives you such a generous plate for a very good deal. I wish we could visit them more often as they have all kinds of specials throughout the week. We also had the lobster and were surprised at how much they give you for a fraction of what you would spend elsewhere. They could easily compete with high end restaurants and charge the extra big bucks and still get it, but we feel grateful that they stay down to earth yet still deliver you five star dining quality. Service is attentive and fast, atmosphere is like a noisy northwoods cabin. You come here for the fish, not the atmosphere. Pricing is reasonable for high season Naples and for what get. Never again. The manager denied our service animal to sit OUTSIDE. I have never heard of any restaurant denying a service animal. After questioning her reason for denying us, she screamed at us "to get out". She was extremely rude and embarrassing in front of the other patrons waiting to be seated. Tuesday was a bowl of chowder with beverage, then came back for 2 for $69 entrees with bottle of wine. All the service has been great, food fresh and perfectly done. The hot sour dough bread with chowder is a solid choice. Chrissy was our server tonight and was extremely helpful while the manager on duty Lynn stopped by to make sure we were satisfied with our experience. This place was hopping! Got there at 6pm in March which is "high season," I am told. There was a huge line with lots of people waiting outside. There is outdoor and indoor dining, but if there is a spot at the bar, grab it! I was by myself so it was easy and I was able to get dinner right away. The hostess staff also supported this choice. The bartender was friendly, attentive and willing to work with me. I modified their Island Mojito (which is made with pomegranate juice) into a mocktail, and it was delicious with fresh mint and lime juice. I ordered the Shrimp Oscar which is stuffed with crabmeat. 4 butterflied shrimp (not huge) came with a vegetable and saffron rice. It was the perfect amount. Went back for another try at Mr. Big Fish with some friends who were in town. Our Server was Vincent and he was excellent. Food and drink orders were delivered quickly and I asked Vincent about the Cioppino and he highly recommended it. It was a delicious dish and rivals versions I've had at other places. I tried my wife's Black Cod dish as well as her Scalloped Potatoes and found them both to be excellent. Mr. Big Fish was crowded but we were able to be seated even though we were 30 minutes early for our reservation. You could tell the Servers were really hustling to keep up with the food and drink orders. This is a well run restaurant with good drinks and good food selections. read more
