This is a family owned business. Very hard working people. I had to move my date with them 3 times due to matters out of my hands. It was really short notice, and I had never used a moving service before. I'd heard all kinds of not-nice stories, of course, so I decided to play it by ear. I was kind of edgy because the other movers I had called gave me the impression that they were giving me the run-around. When Cynthia took my call, she immediately put me at ease. She said they were fully booked for the weekend, but that there was a chance they could handle my request if I didn't mind an evening move. And although it was late, Darren came that same night to check out my needs. Right on first impression, he struck me as being honest and expert at his job. We agreed on a moving date - and time - as well as the charges that Cynthia had filled me in on previously. Moving day came, and Darren was there right on time with his truck and 2 helpers. They even provided "wardrobe boxes" with hanger poles, and would have done all the packing for us if we had wanted to. They moved the refrigerator, 52-inch plasma tv, sofa set, and all our sundry furniture from our 2nd floor unit to the new (also 2nd floor) unit. Their moves were "by-the-number", they knew exactly what they were doing. NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH on the fridge, plasma tv, and sofa set. No scratches on the apartment walls, either. They moved EVERYTHING in the time they estimated. Well, they went a little over, but only because they did a little more than what we had agreed on. In spite of that, Darren very honestly calculated the overage down to the minute! I was happy to pay him more than he asked for. I have used this company since 2004 and they are simply the best. My first move with them was a nightmare situation - we owned the house and showed up with the moving trucks only to find the sellers were still in the house and nothing had been packed. Darren and his crew worked hard to help us figure out storage options and re-delivery dates. Since then I have used them 2 more times and have referred them to many friends. Each time has been a superb experience, both for me and for my friends. Most recently, I had them load the moving pods when I was relocating to NC from CA in October 2018, and when my stuff arrived in NC not one thing had shifted or broken. Darren was even concerned about how I would get my things unloaded in NC and offered to find me someone I could trust to do this. I read so many nightmare situations where people's possessions are held hostage, lost, stolen...just call Darren and you won't have to deal with any of that. I hope not to move again for a long time, but my big regret will be that now I'm in NC, I can't call Movin' On to help me move again. Will really miss them. read more

I am a real estate agent and have had experience with several moving companies. Movin' On was head and shoulders above the others. When I first called, Roslyn was so informative and detailed in asking what kind of furniture we had so that she could provide us with the best quote, time frame and necessary amount of movers. Due to a change in close of escrow date, we had to reschedule the move and Rosyln was understanding and made arrangements to accommodate us. On the day of the move, the guys were on time and moved our entire house in the rain. They were careful to cover everything and moved very quickly. Not once did they even stop to take a break. When moving the furniture into our new home, they reassembled everything at lighting speed and even hooked up our dryer to the gas line and refrigerator to the water line. The movers never took a break and there were times when I actually saw Darren, the leader, running from one location to the other. Really! Backed by his highly efficient team, Darren turned our challenging move into a surprisingly positive and somewhat simplified experience We were only charged for the 4 1/4 hours that the operation took--no rounding the fee out to the next half-hour. Years ago when I employed a large interstate moving company, the process was stressful and did not compare to Movin' On efficiency. The interstate workers were not as detailed-oriented, careful or fast in spite of the fact that the dispatcher, an acquaintance of mine, said she was sending me her best employees. In short, Movin' On was far superior. I doubt that it is possible to find movers who are more efficient, courteous and professional than those of Movin' On. For my last and final move I decided I wanted a company that was local. They were prompt on time and moved my home without any issues, they were reliable, honest, and hard workers. I am a moving expert. My husband was in the Air Force and we moved so many times around the country and the world that I lost track. But I know a great moving company when I experience them and Movin On is that. I had already contracted with a mover and thought everything was settled, but a week before the move my mover cancelled and left me in a lurch. I heard about Movin On from another neighbor who said they were familiar with the idiosyncrasies of the property from which we were moving. They could not have been nicer, more understanding, and totally competent. Darren visited our condo and gave me a realistic estimate (that was significantly less than the prior mover). Our move into our new home was delayed, but Movin On worked with me. They had to store our household goods in a storage facility for a little over a week, then transport and unload at our new home. They were fair, honest, conscientious, and courteous. They were solicitous of my welfare, careful to leave something for me to sit on when moving out and in (in consideration of my advanced age). I cannot say enough about these very nice folks and their excellent service. Roslyn orchestrated the scheduling and Darren and Brian provided very fast and efficient service. I did not lose a single object or find any damage to any of our 45 year accumulation of household goods and memories. First off Rosalyn and Darren are good people. I was referred to them from our friend and realtor. I have to be honest, everything was great until day of. The original 10am start time began with a phone call at 8am saying that they double booked, but would it be ok if we showed up at 12pm instead. Turns out Darren, being the nice guy he is, went to move an older lady whom hadn't packed any of her stuff so Darren and team packed it all for her. Very nice gesture on their part. Unfortunately, that meant for us that the 12pm start time didn't actually happen until 4:45pm and we had to be packed up that night. It was my 40th birthday to top it off and my family was having a dinner for me, which I ended up missing because they didn't finish packing us up until 9pm when we were originally supposed to be done by 2pm. With that said, Darren's team still did a great job getting it done in time. It was definitely a rush job and there were a few pieces of furniture that were scratched, so I'm indifferent about this one. I don't want this review to discourage people from using them because they are good. I just want Movin' On to be aware of how double booking can have an effect on their clients. At the very least, I felt like I should have been compensated. Best of luck to Darren and Rosalyn, I know they won't let this happen again. read more

I would never use this moving company again. I found them to be unreliable and no longer feel that I can trust them to keep their word. My family engaged with them to move my wife's mother from her house in LA County to a new home in Orange County. On the day that the move was to take place, only 30 minutes before the moving van was scheduled to arrive, we got a call from the company saying that one of the employees "had the gout" and they would be unable to perform the job since that left them with only one person to handle the assignment. If that story is true, It is shocking to me that a company who accepts an assignment does not have a backup plan when an employee becomes ill. What kind of customer service is that? It is called contingency planning or being prepared. If that story is not true, then I am only left to wonder why they "dropped the ball" on us at the last minute. The story in my mind is comparable to a student telling a teacher that "the dog ate my homework!" Either way, that is no way to treat a customer, especially at the last minute. They did provide us with a referral to another moving company and we had no choice but to accept them as the provider since we had to be out of the house that day and had no other options readily available. This whole experience caused my wife and her mother serious stress and left them in tears. The move was completed with Morris Moving and Storage, whom I highly recommend. Their people were super responsive, hard working and conscientious. After the move was completed, I attempted to contact Movin' On to let them know my concerns from a customer perspective before writing this review but they failed to return my calls. So much for customer focus! In my opinion, if you choose to engage with this company, you proceed at your own risk and pray that "gout" is not contagious. read more
