Better Air NW's proposal was not only the least expensive by a fair margin, but also offered the highest quality machines and best warranties. Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. All in all, great experience, these folks deserve their lofty reputation.

Much appreciated! 2026 update - our heat pump stopped working and needed replacement parts. I paid for them to send a tech to diagnose it and they followed through with the work which is under the 10-year warranty. Tech, Hagen was very nice and professional and made sure to answer all of my questions. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I hope that this fix lasts a long time, or at least until we upgrade to a newer, more environmentally friendly unit.

I had to call them five times before they finally sent someone. Turns out the salesman hadn't secured the door properly, so the safety switch never engaged -- a super easy fix. We had a cold night with small kids in the house and they showed zero urgency fixing a problem they caused. Their quote was also the highest I got. I don't blame the salesman for the mistake, but the company doesn't stand behind their work at all. I'd never use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I needed the airflow balanced in the system so all the rooms were the same temperature. After calling my current HVAC company and finding out they couldn't help me, I started looking. Turns out not many do this. Fortunately for me, Legacy One Heating does. After talking with Karl and having him look at the system, he came up with a plan to resolve this. I scheduled an appointment, and two very professional and caring men came out to fix the problem I was having. Collin and Brian are excellent! We talked about what they were going to do and how they would balance everything. They listened to my thoughts about labeling corresponding components, and went to work. After they made the changes to the ducts, they went around and balanced the airflow coming out of each one so that the airflow evenly covers the whole house. It's a tri-level, so that's three floors with ducting. Lots to consider when balancing the system. I have to say that I am thrilled with how well the system is now working! I no longer need to wear a sweatshirt when I go into my office to work. It's not cold anymore! In fact, there are no longer any cold spots in the house. Just even temperatures throughout. Needless to say, Legacy One is now my HVAC partner. They do everything around a furnace. They are interested in what I have to say, and they are true professionals. They only did the outside and when I asked him about going inside he said that is appliance issue. My husband ended up purchasing brushes on Amazon and cleaned the vent out from inside, which in turn made him have to clean it out from the outside again. Not to mention all the lint that it pushed through on the roof again. Very frustrating. I actually took a picture and emailed it to them with all the lint that was taken out but never got a response.

tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

AirPro's originally installed a new heat pump and furnace for me almost 10 years ago. In that time,…read moremy heat pump stopped working so I called around and chose another HVAC company to come fix it since they were the fastest to respond. It turns out that they were also very expensive, so I reached out to AirPro's again to see if they could come check it out. Unfortunately, I didn't submit the warranty registration almost 10 years ago for my Lennox heat pump so I had to pay out of pocket for the replacement (Tip: submit your warranty paperwork otherwise you'll pay out of pocket for any repairs, even under the warranty period)! However, the guys at AirPro's were able to confirm the issue and ordered and installed a replacement part for half of what another HVAC place wanted. They were also able to install the new part and service my furnace and heat pump in a little over an hour since they had two guys working on it. Everyone I have dealt with at AirPro's throughout the years have been courteous and explained everything in detail. I've also never had them try to sell me on something I didn't need. The bottom-line is that AirPro's is still my preferred HVAC company after 10 years of working with them. They're quick, efficient and cost-effective. I'm planning on using them again in a few years once it's time to replace my aging HVAC system.
