This is the second time I have used Better Air NW and will continue to use them. There prices were so reasonable compared to many other companies & their work is 100 % satisfactory.

Colin took the time to learn our wants and needs, understand our current system, and most importantly, what we did not want. It was a frank discussion to match the install with what we wanted; no upselling, no pushing for a heat pump once we said we didn't want one, no pushing extra services. Straightforward and honest. The estimate was right in the middle of the range (for this area), and we were able to schedule the work for early the next week. It was going to be a single day, but our "mission glitch" was some less-than-up-to-code electrical on the old system that needed to be brought up to code. That added a few hours and ran us over into the next day, but it was done at no extra charge. From start to finish, communication was timely and clear, by text and phone with email as a backup. Scheduling was a breeze and teams arrived exactly when they promised. The quality of work is excellent, and it all comes with a ten year warranty. Pleasant, professional, efficient.

CM Heating Review…read more We decided to go with CM Heating for several reasons. Their reviews online were very good. I talked to my neighbors to hear what their experience was and CM Heating name was brought up a couple times as a stand out company. The sales person Amber was very professional and gave us a ton of information. She was instantly responsive when I had questions. We got 3 bids for this job. I took all the information and used AI to compare the mountain of info to get its take in the bids. Cm Heating consistently had the edge over the others. The main reason was the warranty. If you are spending a fair amount of money, you need a good warranty. All said and done CM Heating was the winner Getting an install date was a breeze. All the detail work was handled by them. The office sent me the permits to print and post. Install Day I was notified of the time they would arrive and the guys were right on time Tim and Melvin sized up the job and jumped in at full speed. Melvin worked on the furnace Tim on the Heat Pump. These guys never stopped the entire time except when my wife brought them some home made chocolate chip cookies. I was very impressed with their performance. We had questions along the way and they provided answers immediately. Great trustworthy people. By the time they were done all the areas were spotless. Obviously I made the correct decision going with CM Heating and I would highly recommend them

When it stopped heating in Winter (thankfully, we have back-up propane), CM quoted us $3,200 for a thermal expansion valve (TXV) replacement. They explicitly said that while the parts were covered under warranty, the labor was not. We got a second opinion -- and while the part failed, the second company pointed out that we had a 10 year parts and labor warranty (he was easily able to get to this info, which means CM should have, too -- especially since they sold it to me). I've now called CM several times to inform them that they need to cover the repair, but I've been ghosted. I assume this is likely because they can charge a higher rate for labor on a customer-pay job than they can be paid by the warranty company and are hoping I'll go to another company, but I have no proof of that. As far as I'm concerned, they sold me the unit and the warranty -- and they can do the repair. Once the warranty is over? I'll never deal with CM again.

I found the company to be very professional, all the way from first contact, several calls to schedule, and through to to arrival. The tech was on time and followed instructions to call 5-minutes out so I could corral my protective German Shepherd. The tech was impressively knowledgeable about ancient heating systems, and did a thorough inspection of the masonry and mortar on all three floors and gave me wise advice, which I very much appreciated. I was surprised the tech knew about thermal mass heating that was common in the 1800's to about the mid 1920's. I think he enjoyed getting an unusual service call. Nothing was broken, I just needed confirmation of my suspicion, a chimney/mortar inspection, and advice on safety. I had them do a full inspection on this...monstrosity. Note there is NO FIREPLACE--there has never been one, but there IS a firebox and clean out in the BASEMENT! SEE PHOTOS and descriptions for details. Turns out--this thing IS an original heating system from 1920. Thermal Mass. It was used by building a small hot fire in the basement firebox, load some coal, and let it go. The heat is captured in the brick and held like a battery, released over time. The main floor section is a SOLID MASS OF BRICK. There was never a fireplace there. When the fire burns down, the warm bricks give off heat on the main floor for 8-10 more hours. Thermal Mass Heating. --Rightly, I was advised it's not a good idea to use it, but in case of an emergency... I could. It will still work as intended and the chimney is safe for occasional emergency use. --Later, in the 1940's, someone tied into the flue on the main floor for a wood stove, then in the 1960's that was closed off when natural gas was installed, along with cast iron baseboards--heated by a gas boiler. Hydronic heat via cast iron baseboards is the Best Heat Ever. No blowing air. Just Warm, Penetrating Deep Warmth. Hydronic Radiant Heat heats OBJECTS, not air. THANK YOU FUSE!!!
