CM Heating did an excellent job from the first person who came put and talked us through our new HVAC systems options to the installers and most recently, Tobin, who came out and inspected a potential problem I reported and provided a ton of great information so we can optimize efficiency and longevity of our systems. Everyone has been really great to work with. May 2024 - I finally scheduled our annual maintenance. They sent James out. He was fantastic. A wealth of knowledge, polite and professional. I signed up for the annual maintenance plan to save money. He made good recommendations based on my needs and concerns of my allergies. Much appreciated! 2026 update - our heat pump stopped working and needed replacement parts. I paid for them to send a tech to diagnose it and they followed through with the work which is under the 10-year warranty. Tech, Hagen was very nice and professional and made sure to answer all of my questions. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I hope that this fix lasts a long time, or at least until we upgrade to a newer, more environmentally friendly unit. read more

Their tagline is "there is no beating CM heating" but it should be "no beating like the one CM Heating gives your wallet." $600 for a regular maintenance and replace parts under warranty for a unit they originally installed incorrectly. They are actually very friendly and customer service oriented when you call them, but not surprisingly their business model is built on grossly high margins and milking as much labor revenue as they can. They installed our air conditioning a few years back and connected the wires wrong. It seemed to work fine but would shut off on days when the temperature got too high. On my first "complimentary" service call, the technician noticed the install was wrong and fixed the wiring. It worked fine. Fast forward a few years to my first paid service call. They set an appointment and then cancelled the evening before and had me reschedule. First world problems but it is hard to arrange your schedule to be around for the service window - so I complained about the inconvenience. On the day of the actual service, two parts were found to be "out of spec" and while the parts were under warranty, they still charged 30 minutes of labor to install them. It rubbed me the wrong way because the call itself is already expensive ($379). That price includes a filter replacement, a cheap one-month filter that doesn't even properly fit the unit. I asked if I could skip the filter and have the price reduced. Of course the answer was no. So they are getting great high-margin revenue from the call, but they couldn't resist tacking on another $160 to replace "out of spec" parts that probably weren't needed. Everything was working. The technician was nice. He even called management to ask if he could waive the service charge. See his notes in the picture I shared. Management valued $160 over any future business. Compare that to The Garage Door Works, who similarly missed an appointment with me and proactively offered a discount on a new door installation as an apology. Or Les Schwab Tire Centers, who fixed a flat tire for free on a tire they didn't even sell me. Just a courtesy. At the end of the day it wasn't the dollar amount, but the fact that they would rather squeeze another 30 minutes of labor out of me than extend a courtesy after two sub-optimal experiences to earn my continued business. It says a lot about what kind of company this is. I left a message for the manager, voiced my frustration, and gave them the option to call me back if they felt they could help. No call. So I wanted to share this with you. It's not unusual for these companies to have bloated rates/fees/prices, but many have the decency to earn your business by going above and beyond, especially because they know how much margin they are already getting on things like service calls. CM behaves differently. My advice is to check out Greenwood Heating and Home Services or Aurora Plumbing instead. I haven't tried Greenwood yet but I personally had a great experience with Aurora Plumbing, and when you shop in their store they have experts who actually want to help you solve a problem. Do business with people that demonstrate customer service through their actions and not their marketing and customer service call scripts. Turns out the salesman hadn't secured the door properly, so the safety switch never engaged -- a super easy fix. We had a cold night with small kids in the house and they showed zero urgency fixing a problem they caused. Their quote was also the highest I got. We've decided to contract them for maintenance and I have mixed feelings on this because last year they came out did the cleaning of my mini units, which mine needed to have the gas level checked to which they said they'd come out later a year later...I ended up needing to replace my unit which wasn't that old. I just had a new heat & a/c wall mount unit installed They put in a new electrical panel in the shop and ran 220 service to my park model mobile home then installed the heat pump and air conditioning unit. Their work was exceptional . The total cost was just over $17,000 but I feel like I received, a good value for the work they did they weren't the cheapest estimate but they did the work in a professional and respectful manner I would recommend CM Heating & A/C to anyone looking for quality work . I had a furnace installed by c&m 2 years ago. Came with a 10 year warranty. Stopped working. You would think with a 10 year warranty that would cover any fix needed in that time span. No..was informed they are charging just to come out and look at what they installed and it will cost even more if something is wrong. They say warranty.. but they don't back it. Absolute disinformation. In other words.. If they have your money once installed they don't care. These guys are the ABSOLUTE WORST!!! I had ONE service call with CM Heating for a promotional furnace cleaning, where they replaced a part I later found out was still working properly, and which I also found out they drastically overcharged me for, and now this company won't leave me alone!!!! They call, text, and email me incessantly, and have woken me up several times with early morning attempts to contact me and get me to purchase additional service visits from them!!! The jokes on CM Heating however as I was going to purchase AC from them which would have been around $8k to 10k in additional business for them, but they've harassed me so badly that I'll never allow CM Heating to come anywhere near my home again!!!! This system was installed at my parent's home in Everett. Just a year later, system stopped working and blew cold air for hours and hours until my parents called CM heating. They came out and said there was a problem with the deep frost control board (and other parts). CM Heating fixed the issue, but then they charged us for a diagnostic fee. I called to get the charge waived, they said they still needed to charge my elderly parents for something that broke and is under warranty. Don't use CM heating. Would recommend! I have a cadet wall heater that was not working. An electrician from As You Wish Electric came out, handed me a $600+ bill, when I said I was just looking for an estimate he disconnected the heater and informed me that my heater absolutely needed to be replaced. I called CM heating for an estimate. Jon Jansen from CM heating came out, reconnected the heater and it started working! Jon said the heater probably wasn't wired in correctly. Happy to know there are electricians out there that are able to look at the problem first before handing me a $600+ bill. When I replace my heaters in the future, I will be going through CM heating! Our furnace was replace a couple of years back...even though it was a couple of years old, we were very pleased with the service. The technician was knowledgeable and went over the findings...of which there was none. They scheduled us and kept us up-to-date and time. Emmanuel with CM Heating was great! I had an emergency Sunday with no heating and he came out and although he was an HVAC tech he suspected the problem was at the breaker panel and sure enough there was a burnt out wire. He was very helpful and gave me several tips. He got me set up with their electrician team and the visit was considered a no charge despite coming out on Sunday. Edgar was the electrician from their team who was also awesome. He cleaned up the burnt wire and respliced some old splices and got my heat up in running in about an hour. He was very informative and gave me some suggestions for future upgrades. Our furnace was working intermittently so we got recommendations for services to come check it out. CM was recommended so we called them. They were available quickly, showing the next day, a Sunday without an emergency call charge. The tech spent almost two hours, thought he had identified the issue and left, promising to share his findings with a colleague and get back to us with an estimate. The next day they sent over an estimate to replace the blower motor that seemed very high with absolutely no details. We politely asked for an itemized estimate and were told they don't provide itemized estimates. Red flag! Based on their lack of transparency we looked for alternative companies to give us bids. What we found was discouraging. Their bid was roughly double what everyone else estimated for the same work. Eventually they did get back to us with the detailed estimate. They estimated two hours for the work and they were going to charge us $350 / hour. Their price for the part was double what we could find online. Needless to say we went with another company. They completed the work in about 45 minutes for less then half the price. It turned out CM misdiagnosed the issue, so in addition to replacing the blower they recommended we also had a valve replaced. In summary, they misdiagnosed our issue and tried to slip a ridiculously overpriced bid past us with lack of transparency. If you do decide to use them, demand a detailed bid and hold them accountable for how much time they bill you. read more

I have used CM Heating multiple times. I asked them to conduct an inspection of my two gas fireplaces; and to clean the glass where the soot had collected. Two technicians came out and when they were done one of the windows was worse than before they cleaned it. I received a long lecture about my fireplaces from a very condescending (very young) man. After they left I called my regular handyman and asked him if the glass could be cleaned. He came over and spent about an hour on two glass panels and now they look brand new. CM Heating charged me a LOT of money and I had to hire someone else. When I called to get refunded for the LACK of work done they asked me to send a picture of the glass now. I have yet to hear from them regarding any refund. I guess their slogan "There's no beating CM Heating" isn't exactly true. I won't use them anymore. read more

Paid into their HVAC maintenance plan and recently had a clogged condensate drain line 5 weeks after they performed the "maintenance". Those drains don't clog that fast. Video footage confirmed they never touched the drain. It flooded and I had to clear the drain, rent a dehumidifier, and replace about 60' of insulation. I called to politely let them know and was told I'd get a call back. Never happened. read more

I had CM heating replace a dual run start capacitor for me last year, and they got the job done right after a holiday weekend, which was good to get done. However, their pricing is quite high, and I would not use them again. I paid $600 plus tax for that capacitor, and they signed me up for additional $250 for their annual maintenance plan. That plan is supposed to provide service discounts, so the $600 for the capacitor replacement seemed steep. This year they performed the annual maintenance and discovered that the condenser fan is leaking oil, and recommended replacement. The quote for the discounted replacement was $927. I decided to call around, and I got quotes for this job ranging from $629 to $775 - this was with my model unit and serial number. And - annual inspection done by others is more like $150, so the $250 "club" is definitely not worth it. I am dropping the club and will try out someone else next time I need A/C service. read more

We had C M Heating repipe our house after we had several water leaks in one year. They did a good job on the repiping, finishing in one week as they had predicted. We picked this company because of their positive reviews and because they also do the drywall work to repair the walls afterward. This is where we had problems. At first, they scheduled a day or half day then weren't able to come back for another week and a half or longer. Then they did schedule a couple of days at a time, but didn't schedule a large enough block of time to finish the job. What was begun in mid February wasn't completed until about mid June. Work quality was usually good but taking over three months to complete a job that should have been done in a month or less was very frustrating. If you choose this company, be sure to discuss timelines ahead of time! read more

CM Heating sold me a heater that doesn't work when it gets cold: a Daikin mini-split. When the temp dips below freezing the light on the indoor unit blinks and the heat stops. When it does run the outdoor unit is incredibly loud. These issues were not fixed despite multiple calls and visits. Techs tell me this model has no defroster and also that no matter how loud the fan gets as longs its still working then there is no warranty coverage. There are lots of choices out there. Again, non-responsiveness. We paid $16k+ for a new furnace and heat pump a year ago. We were promised a complimentary annual "tune up" for this year. Got it scheduled, then they cancelled the day before due to very cold weather and several emergency call outs. Fine, folks that are w/o heat come first, I get that. They suggested a date range that would work for a reschedule. I suggested several dates (replying to their email, so no chance of the wrong email address). No response, the dates came and went. Followed up, they said they had no record of our response so I resent. Nothing. Sent a 3rd request, they said no record of previous requests. Sent another request, they responded with the "no record" dodge again and asked for our "phone number associated with the profile" which has been provided many times previously (and is always in my email autosignature, plus they've texted it MANY times). I realized I was in an endless excuse loop. Felt like I was dealing with a monopoly or the government. Of course, no way on the website to escalate. Sorry I chose these folks but I assume we are stuck with them thru the warranty period and can't contract with another company for the annual maintenance. read more

That they charge $169 just to visit and diagnose, and then have to return to fix the problem, where for many problems they can fix the issue on their first visit, is a sign that they're more interested in increasing their revenue than helping customers. Additionally, the first time they visited, they told me that they record the various technical details of my installation, to make future calls more effective with respect to what model furnace you have, it's age and so on.
