That they charge $169 just to visit and diagnose, and then have to return to fix the problem, where for many problems they can fix the issue on their first visit, is a sign that they're more interested in increasing their revenue than helping customers. Additionally, the first time they visited, they told me that they record the various technical details of my installation, to make future calls more effective with respect to what model furnace you have, it's age and so on. However, a year later, when I contacted them, it was as though they have never been here before, and asking me information about the HVAC system. read more

When our furnace went out, I already knew who I wanted to hire to replace it because of the great reputation the company has on my local Nextdoor page. I called CM first and they did not disappoint. They were on time. The servicemen were polite and friendly. Our new furnace and Nest system have been a lifesaver this bitterly cold winter! And when we went out of town over Christmas, I got a notification sent to my phone 1000 miles away that our home had dropped to dangerously low temperatures and the emergency heat function had been activated. CM Heating has been to my home ~15 times in the last year and a half, just fixing mistake after mistake. Every time they come, something else that worked before breaks. It's been a nightmare. Most recently, their technicians took my entire system down, then wanted to charge me $2500 to fix THEIR mistake. Then when onsite to do the fix, they acknowledged that their recommendation was actually wrong (AGAIN) and that I should get a new system altogether. It started when they came to do a "free annual maintenance check," which I agreed to after 5 emails/texts/calls. They come, they took everything apart, put it back together, and then told me everything was fine. That was 12 days ago, it was the last time my heating worked, and when I called them back out to look at it, they (1) told me it would cost over $2500 to get a replacement blower motor to fix it (more than 2X markup from buying the OEM Carrier part online) and (2) took my cooling offline too! After 3 weeks of having NO HVAC in the house, they finally came back only to conclude that they were wrong again and found a new issue with a condensation leak in the furnace and AGAIN changed their recommendation. Their "Free annual maintenance check" is a joke. At a minimum, they completely failed to identify any problems with the system. At a maximum, they created the problems themselves. In 3 weeks time and 4 visits later, they went from "you have no issues in your system!" to "you need to completely replace your system!" In 3 weeks time, I went from a fully functioning AC system to literally the entire thing being offline and non-operational. That's what you get from their "Free annual maintenance check." Here is what is ridiculous to me. My heating worked all winter, just fine. We had cold snaps and snow. And it handled the load just fine. We have a dual-stage Carrier system with a communicating wire schema that seems complicated for them, and they just can't figure out how to service it and it seems most of my issues are because they put it back together incorrectly. We had CM Heating at our house 8 times last year to repeatedly try to hook the heat system back up after disconnecting the heat pump's communicating wire, redoing the communicating wire, and then repeated attempts to root cause an issue with my cooling system going down. I appreciated their persistence to fix the issue, I just wish there hadn't been so much costly rework and a revolving door of different technicians which allowed an ongoing series of intermittent outages over the course of 8 months. And we were fine, and fixed it at last, until CM Heating's latest "free annual maintenance check" which seems to involve taking it apart and putting it back differently enough that it causes the entire system to fail. The repeated visits to the house has been disruptive and has been almost as bad as the repeated outages. It's too much coordination overhead to have these guys at your house ten times a year before fixing your system, just to break it again half a year later. I think they are well-intentioned but we just always get different technicians who put it back together slightly wrong and then they spend months coming back trying to find the root cause, so I cannot give them a good review. PS - all their good reviews are fake or farmed; they give a donation to Make-A-Wish when you write a good review. So they are basically buying good reviews. They're terrible to work with though. read more

It was a shaky start from the initial install process requiring multiple trips and parts that were not quite available yet. I should've paid attention to the red flags. Not sure why they would schedule an install and not have everything ready. Also, keep in mind most of the reviews on here are about the technician that installs and maintains your products which they are very nice. Fast forward to a little over 2 years I shouldn't have ignored the red flags during this entire process. I was a naïve consumer during the maintenance process which I paid for annually. However, my AC stopped working 1 month after one of my routine maintenance appointments. Fortunately another technician was able to quickly arrive and assess the situation and identified a part that needed to be replaced that would cost $300. They were surprised to find out I do have routine maintenance and someone just came out last month. The feedback seemed like my HVAC and Heat pump haven't been maintained over the last 2 years. They mentioned that the part is still under warranty so should be replaced without additional costs. On June 24th 2025 was when that appointment was made and assessed I needed a new part. Fast forward to now, July 21st 2025 and the part has not arrived. During this entire time I had to operate without heat or AC and mind you I have a 1 and 5 year old that are suffering during this ordeal. I've followed up each week (sometimes daily) and the response I keep receiving is "sorry shipping is out of our control and since the part ships directly from the factory/distributor tracking information is unavailable." Keep in mind they also said that the shipping was impacted by the Texas Floods which is very unfortunate for the people in Texas. However, if the part was ordered and shipped on time the floods would not have impacted the lead time and my family would not have to endear these significant delays. Poor customer service and lack of urgency to provide transparency in the situation in my opinion. My only regret is I did not cancel and get a full refund on my products/services within the 2 year timeframe. Was told I was just outside of it. I don't normally write google reviews but wanted to potentially save another family from this situation to please look at other options. If you have already purchased and installed please pay attention to the 2 year fully refundable guarantee if you are not satisfied with your service. read more

We installed an A/C unit heat pump earlier in December. Since then, whenever we actually needed to use it, the fuse keeps popping. The first time it happened when it was extremely cold. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and they came by and fixed. The second time has just happened again during this heat wave, and now there is no power being delivered in the unit. read more

CM Heating was recommended to us by the Nextdoor neighborhood app. they send tech Mauro out who assessed the situation and was 100% honest about what's broken and what can be done to fix it. Mauro had a no pressure approach and told us we could go with a band aid fix that would last a while but would still leave us in need of a new furnace down the road. Yesterday Kyle McAllister from the sales team came out to go through options for a new furnace. He also had a no pressure approach and gave us options , including financing, how to best fix the problem long term. Kyle took his time and made sure we understood everything, he answered all our questions, gave us quotes and worked with us on financing options. In this economy needing a brand new furnace is a bug deal but Kyle worked it out to where it is very affordable for us to get the needed work done. Everyone we worked with from CM Heating was polite, HONEST, personable and respectful. Nobody exerted ANY sales pressure and we never once felt taken advantage of. We were very hesitant on working with a bigger company again as we had a very bad experience in the past with another company for a big house project but CM Heating is truly outstanding in all areas. For the second time we have had CM Heating in for a yearly "maintenance" and for the second time the next day something big has broken and our HVAC system has stopped working. There has both times been an expensive solution. only they can fix. Last time only after many, many visits and many occasions where sleeping babies were awoken and countless hours my husband spent on the phone, a fix was found that only cost us a couple hundred bucks and got us back to a system ALMOST as good as the original (They said the system could no longer support zone air conditioning. Fine.) I didn't ding them for the first time. I decided to suspend my disbelief and believe it really might be an organic issue. But this time they claim the only fix is a very expensive part we must buy from them. This was a part they checked when they did the maintenance and found no issue with just a few days ago. They are either completely inept or seriously playing us or all of the above. CM Heating put an A/C unit in our house a year ago. Last month it suddenly stopped working during a very hot day. I called, got someone on the line, and they had someone at our house within hours to fix it. It took him some time to trace it down, but he got it fixed. And then came the kicker...no charge for the service. We had A/C again and all was well. Then today I had them put more ducting for a return to the upper floor of our house to get better circulation. They left about 20 minutes ago. The two installers who did the job were cheerful, extremely clean, and did an amazing job. It took them all day and they stayed a bit late to get it done. CM may be a bit more expensive than the others, but showing up within hours when my A/C is down on a hot day is worth everything we've paid them. And today's work even more convinced me we made a great decision going with them. read more

CANCELLED. CM Heating cancelled our 3 appointments for having our systems checked. Really?? There's a little he-said, she-said in this, but one frustrated employee tried to reach me several times in 20 minutes while I was in a meeting, and cancelled all our appointments that we have arranged to work from home for today because I didn't answer. She didn't even try reaching my husband, and just texted to say she cancelled the techs. Wow. A manager did call afterward to hear our concerns and suggestions, which we very much appreciated. It seems their messages from different departments appeared to us to be updates, but they were actually 3 different arrangements, so that would be important to know that when you're working with them on multiple items that it may involve multiple totally separate techs. It seems this company just may not be what it used to be, but apparently some of the same employees are still there and still committed to their clients. read more

CM was truly a godsend when the company that installed our HVAC system 6 weeks ago failed to even answer their phones when the AC unit broke down. After waiting around all day waiting for 1st Response to follow up, we decided to just start calling HVAC repair companies. CM was the only company we found that offers round the clock service and had a tech on call who could come out at 10pm on a Monday night. Regis came out promptly and diagnosed the issue as a loose wire that was installed incorrectly by 1st Response. After securing the wire, he was able to get the AC unit up and running and even checked the temp of the air coming out of the vents to ensure the issue was resolved. If I had a time machine, the first thing I'd do is make some savvier stock purchases and the second thing I'd do is use CM over 1st Response. They offer amazing service and most importantly, they freaking call you back. Yup, that's how low the bar is. Thanks, Regis for all your help! Our heat pump suddenly stopped working so I called CM Heating to come diagnose the problem. The tech told me our compressor was broken and highly recommended we get a new heat pump costing $15,000 as opposed to just paying $5000 for a new compressor. I decided to have another heating company give us a second opinion and I'm so glad I did. Turns out the only parts of our heat pump that were broken were two fuses that cost a dollar a piece. This other company replaced the fuses for us and our heat pump has been working great! Update: CM Heating reached out right away to apologize and assured me this is not how they do business. read more

He returned after "inspecting...and said he couldn't smell anything. I asked him if he used any technology to determine his conclusion..."Nope...just nose!" I was charged $190 just for someone to come out and tell me what the problem is and provide me with a quote to repair my ductless unit. The quote I received was for Refrigerant Recovery & Re-Charge, Pressure test, Soap Bubble Leak test and a Spring Cleaning annual membership for $155.88 per year that would save me $525 on current quote of $2,785. So with the annual membership, my quote total is $2,472.91. I was referred to a company (Normal Mechanical) by a friend for a secondary quote, they came out and confirmed there is a leak and fixed the leak in about 20 minutes, after completing the recharge and pressure test, the total time the tech was here was less that two hours and the total charge was $500. This is only my second Yelp review ever, but I am tired of companies gouging customers, it's just not fair. read more

However on account of the nature of our current HVAC system, none of the typical smart options(tried both Nest and Ecobee) were able to support this setup. I have used this company before for plumbing repairs, and I have to agree with many of the reviews. They were prompt, professional and I thought they charged a reasonable fee. So when I decided to install a water softener in my home, I immediately thought of them and asked them for a price estimate. I was told that they charged $69. When I balked at that, they said they would waive the fee and send someone out. I thought that was really nice of them to do that and was looking forward to getting their estimate. I was going to supply the water softener myself, so all I needed was to have them install it. I am fairly handy around the house myself and I knew that this wasn't going to take much more than a hour or so of their time and a few parts. It was not a big job. I was absolutely floored when I go their estimate. They wanted $4,243 for installation only. I find it hard to believe that they would want so much money for so little. I truly felt like they were trying to rip me off. I found a licensed plumber on Angis's List who did the job for $600, which as about what I had estimated the job would cost. I was extremely disappointed in CM Heating's highly overpriced estimate for a simple job. It certainly didn't inspire confidence in the company. They have lost my business forever. read more

They are a good value, professional and reliable. One instance, we utilized our home warranty to fix (what we thought) was a bad thermostat. They sent Sears Home Services. After 2 trips they said they could no longer fix the issue after giving me a few guesses of what the issue was. Thermostat, nope. AC control board, nope (CM told me it doesn't exist). They finally gave up. CM heating came in and fix the issue in one visit. They are my go to for anything furnace/AC related. read more

I called Friday morning and the same technician came first thing and he thought fixed it. No heat on Friday. A new technician told me that I needed a new furnace. (After further review it needed a new part.) This seemed like a scam to me and my house was 47 defrees inside. When I complained the owner of the company called me personally. Since it may take several days to get the needed part he offered a new furance at cost on Monday. He also offered to bring me space heaters in the meantime. Our furnace in our brand new construction home stopped working and then we lost power to a large portion of our home. After fighting with our awful home warranty company and living in 57 degrees for a week, we decided to take matters into our own hands and called CM Heating. Kevin, the HVAC specialist, came to look at our furnace the same day and quickly determined that the issue was electrical. He was super friendly and knowledgable. Thomas, the electrician, was supposed to come the same day. There was a miscommunication about scheduling, and then he called us and offered to come out first thing the next morning (which was a holiday). He came early, went above and beyond in his diagnosis and repairs. He not only fixed the electrical issue, but he also got the furnace working again, and he pointed out several code violations committed by the builder (Tapert Homes LLC) for which we will be pursuing reimbursement. CM Heating were honest, professional, caring and reasonably priced. Hard to find all of those in one company these days. If we ever have new issues with our home, we will definitely call CM Heating again. read more

We chose these guys because of their reputation. Very sorry we did. The installers were very nice, but I have major concerns about their competence. The piping from the installation looked terrible. The worst part is that they lied to me about this. My wife was there when they arrived, I was there when they left. I looked at the piping and the look on my face must have said it all. The leader of the installation group said some thing like " yeah it's pretty rough, but your wife asked me to do it that way." When my wife came home, she told me that he just about begged her to do it that way and she consented when he wouldn't relent. Just corner-cutting. When they were all done, they fired up the furnace and it wouldn't work. The next day a higher level guy came out to inspect the work. He expressed shock at the work done and even said that the guy who came out to do the initial quote did not give us good advice. This guy was able to get the furnace going, but he couldn't get the heat pump to work. That's right, 2/2 components did not work initially. The guy apologized for everything and promised to make it all right. We never saw or heard from him again. When no one contacted us, we called their office. They said someone would be out in 2 weeks. We protested, but they said it was the best that they could do. The next day, we got a call and they sent someone out a week later. They next guy blamed the manufacturer and of course COVID-19 for everything. They made the piping look presentable, but advised fixing it outright as it might introduce more problems. He did get all of the components working. He thinks he made things right by throwing in an adapter that allows us to operate the thermostat by phone app. Nice does not equal competence. Don't fall for their window dressing. I have little confidence that the system I have in place will function a few years from now. I also have little confidence that these guys will honor their warranty. I would not recommend this company. read more

Wow! The reason we chose C&M over our other options, even though the price was more was due to all these fantastic reviews. Disappointingly we have had a horrible experience with C&M. We had a fireplace insert installed. It failed the post install inspection by the county because the emergency shutoff valve could not be located. I called C&M to ask how this could be corrected and told them it is very possible that I was shown where it was and forgot because it seemed near impossible that they would forget to install such a key component. When I shared that information with C&M they showed no concern nor apology for this possible mistake. They scheduled their install crew to correct it the next week. The gentleman who showed up was great, however he couldn't find it either, but like myself, was sure it had to be there in the unit somewhere. After several calls and looking through the manual he was able to locate it, however, to access it the crew was supposed to have provided me the specialized tool. He was shocked they did not, called the office and was informed one would be delivered the next day. Ten next days passed with no call nor tool delivered. I called the office, calmly explained the issue and again no concern shown at all for this lack of customer service. Additionally, I was informed that they don't keep the tool in stock, and it will need to be special ordered. I asked why it was not already ordered then ten days ago when I was told it would be here the next day. In response I got a I don't know, not an apology or even a show of concern at all. In fact, as I was quietly and calmly attempting to explain the sequence of events and why I am disappointed with their service I was cut off multiple times. It is clear to me that this company could care less if I am happy with the product or their service now that they have been paid. read more
