We had a water heater leak late afternoon on a Saturday. Not only were they helpful in providing steps to shut off water and drain it if needed immediately, but they got us in for a replacement on Sunday morning. The way it's set up now looks way better than our builder grade version, and the water is gets hot a lot faster. I needed my 10 year old water tank replaced for peace of mind. I was told to call Big Sky Water Heaters by my neighbor because they did an excellent job replacing her old tank. I called and spoke with Barry, he was great to deal with, he had me scheduled for next day. Barry called me and told me his guys were approx. 45 minutes away. His two guys showed up and I had a new water tank all complete within 30 minutes, a very nice job they did. They were one of the few companies that broke down pricing, Why they charged certain things and could give me a price a Instead if an estimate.Tankless water heaters are more expensive but to me it was so worth it. Trevor was so so so helpful! I still can't get over the fact that I called and literally within hours he was there to get my hot water back on. He made the process super easy. After I gave him my landlord's number he handled all the details, fees and other things with him. I just had to be there to let him in so he could get it fixed. Later that afternoon he was there and installed the new part super quick! I was expecting him to take a lot longer but no he was so fast! These people actually cared! I called a few other companies looking to fix my Rheem gas hot water heater and they were either not available or so over priced. Ok called at 8:30 am today spoke with Travis. My hot water tank was leaking and asked how quick someone could come out. We were a bit disappointed to have our original appointment canceled and rescheduled due to another customer's plumbing emergency, but having had plumbing emergencies in the past ourselves, we certainly understood. These guys are seriously amazing! Their receptionist was so amazing & kind to me! I was telling her I wanted someone to come out because my hot water wasn't getting hot enough even if I turned it up quite a bit. I just really needed hotter water & it was so annoying that it wouldn't get hotter even if I turned it all the way up. She put me on hold & the next thing I know a plumber was talking to me asking questions. He walked me through how to turn up the temperature on my hot water heater so that he wouldn't have to come out & charge me to do it himself. I called in the early afternoon and spoke with Barry, who was very polite and professional. He gave me an estimate and called me back within half an hour with the time to expect him the same day. Two plumbers arrived on time and went to work immediately to drain and remove the old water heater from a very tight space in the kitchen. They determined they would need to construct a small platform and install a drip pan and left to get materials for that. They were back very quickly to finish installing the water heater and also cleaned up the area they were working in. The final price was less than their estimate, even though they had to go and purchase other materials. I was VERY satisfied with their work and their prices were less than other plumbers and home improvement stores that we spoke with. The water heater that was installed was a Bradford White, which is the same brand that we had that had lasted over 12 years and we were pleased with that. Like most average people... I don't know anything about anything when it comes to water heaters. I actually at first wasn't even sure if the water heater was the problem. I called Big Sky and told them about the issue I was having and Barry came out and fixed the problem in less than an hour. The price was right in the same ballpark that my estimate was which was perfect since this issue popped up out of no where and i don't have the budget for random, expensive problems. My issue was a sudden low hot water pressure from all faucets throughout my house. A quick Google search on the matter suggested it may be some organic debris built up and lodged in the hot water line to the water heater. The suggested repair was beyond my skill set so I was in search of a plumber. After perusing many impressive companies, I settled on Big Sky Water Heaters. Thankfully I was not disappointed. I called Big Sky before dressing for work and was told someone would call me back within 15 minutes to schedule the appointment. Sure enough I got a call-back within 15 minutes. The appointment was scheduled for around 1 pm that day. As I was driving home from work around 12:30 I got a call saying they were on their way. By then I was already impressed with this company's business ethic and respect for time. Ryan arrived and started right in on diagnosing the problem. He started with checking the quality of the water lines and then the water pressure coming into the house from the main. From there he determined that the pressure was lower than standard and fluctuated even lower. Thinking that would solve the main issue, he replaced the valve. Once done he checked the hot water pressure and it was only slightly better. He then went to work on the lines going into the hot water heater. There he discovered nipples had lodged out of the check valves into the water line prohibiting the free-flow of water. After clearing the lines and soldering the copper pipes back into place the problem was solved. Not only was the hot water pressure at the proper level, the water pressure throughout the house was better than ever! For this reason we opted to keep the PRV valve Ryan installed at the onset as it proved to make a real difference and the life of the older valve was limited. Ryan was thorough and determined to make the situation right for us and explained his rationale all along the way. My girlfriend and I were very pleased with the service and the price and would not hesitate to use Big Sky Plumbing again when needed. read more
