This is a local family business, and the McFarland boys (John, Zach, Drew and Scott) replaced our ENTIRE system from the air handler and condenser to the electrical and refrigerant ducting. They were warm, genial, well mannered, and efficient.... but most importantly, extremely competent. They were also the only contractor I've ever had that didn't leave some amount of trash behind whether it be sections of electrical wires, hosing, or plastic wraps. It's as if they've never been here. Amazing. We chose them despite gotten a slightly lower quote from another installer who came highly recommended by our neighbor because McFarland Heating was willing to work with us on an very niche system replacement (my partner was particular about what he wants), while that didn't end up working out, the time we spent with them problem solving gave us a ton of confidence that they are dedicated to their work and we can trust them to do the job well. We are a household of engineers, and as far as we can tell, everything is installed to (or above) spec. I highly recommend McFarland Heating without reservation!

I called yesterday and explained what the, "Symptoms", were. The issue was correctly diagnosed over the phone. The technician said he could be out today to replace the part. He was right on time. Very quick turnaround!! And, I was told the part was still under warranty, which I was not aware of. No cost to me. No delay in the fix and no issue with the warranty! I highly recommend this company for not only the initial install but the service after the sale. They stand by their work.

They then rescheduled and sent two other technicians, but shortly after, I was told they would not be available for another three weeks. Because I am preparing to sell my house and working on a tight timeline, I had no choice but to hire another contractor to complete the job. Despite multiple follow-ups and being told they would call me back regarding the refund, I have not received my deposit back and have not received any meaningful communication. I understand that unexpected issues can happen, but the lack of follow-through, delays, and failure to return the deposit for work that was never completed is very frustrating and unprofessional.

I moved into a pre-owned condo 5 years ago and noticed an "annual maintenance record" on the unit…read morethat showed the previous owner had used Evergreen State for 10 years or so. With that said, I decided to continue using Evergreen as my annual maintenance company for my HVAC unit. Their service technicians are fantastic...always prompt and efficient. As part of the service, the technician installs a filter that's included in the cost of the service. I have a Honeywell system, and anything less than the exact size of 20x20x4" ends up being cockeyed in the return duct. Most generic filters are sometimes at least 1/4" smaller on all sides, so they do not fit securely in the bracket. During the last visit, the tech installed a generic filter. I didn't discover it until a couple months later when an alert popped up in my calendar reminding me to change the filter. It was indeed not seated correctly due to its size being smaller, and it essentially wasn't "filtering" my air at all for the two months since the service. I called Evergreen for a proper replacement, which the tech delivered later in the week. Same problem - too small, as it wasn't a Honeywell. I pointed it out to the tech and he said he is aware of the issue and will have a correct one delivered. Two weeks later, still no replacement so I called the office and was told that if I wanted a Honeywell I would have to pay for it. Funny, but in the previous 4 years I've had an exact-sized replacement included as part of the annual service. And when I suggested that my annual service should be reduced if a proper filter isn't included, I was advised that they couldn't... Poor response, as after 15 years of consistent annual services of which 5 were mine, I'll be looking for another company...

CM Heating Review…read more We decided to go with CM Heating for several reasons. Their reviews online were very good. I talked to my neighbors to hear what their experience was and CM Heating name was brought up a couple times as a stand out company. The sales person Amber was very professional and gave us a ton of information. She was instantly responsive when I had questions. We got 3 bids for this job. I took all the information and used AI to compare the mountain of info to get its take in the bids. Cm Heating consistently had the edge over the others. The main reason was the warranty. If you are spending a fair amount of money, you need a good warranty. All said and done CM Heating was the winner Getting an install date was a breeze. All the detail work was handled by them. The office sent me the permits to print and post. Install Day I was notified of the time they would arrive and the guys were right on time Tim and Melvin sized up the job and jumped in at full speed. Melvin worked on the furnace Tim on the Heat Pump. These guys never stopped the entire time except when my wife brought them some home made chocolate chip cookies. I was very impressed with their performance. We had questions along the way and they provided answers immediately. Great trustworthy people. By the time they were done all the areas were spotless. Obviously I made the correct decision going with CM Heating and I would highly recommend them

We've used CM for heat pump installations in two houses. Most recently, we purchased a heat pump in…read more2019. When it stopped heating in Winter (thankfully, we have back-up propane), CM quoted us $3,200 for a thermal expansion valve (TXV) replacement. They explicitly said that while the parts were covered under warranty, the labor was not. We got a second opinion -- and while the part failed, the second company pointed out that we had a 10 year parts and labor warranty (he was easily able to get to this info, which means CM should have, too -- especially since they sold it to me). I've now called CM several times to inform them that they need to cover the repair, but I've been ghosted. I assume this is likely because they can charge a higher rate for labor on a customer-pay job than they can be paid by the warranty company and are hoping I'll go to another company, but I have no proof of that. As far as I'm concerned, they sold me the unit and the warranty -- and they can do the repair. Once the warranty is over? I'll never deal with CM again.
