Highly recommend this local, small business. I needed my 1990s gas fireplace fixed in my townhouse, and most larger companies wouldn't come out for a repair unless I wanted to buy a new fireplace insert. Scheduling with B&C Comfort was easy and prompt via email, thanks to CJ. On the day of my service appointment, Eddie arrived right on time and talked me through everything he did and what was needed to fix my fireplace. He worked efficiently and was fun to talk with. A couple weeks later, a big windstorm blew out my pilot light, and I wasn't entirely sure how to re-light it (I recently moved into my place). I reached out to B&C Comfort again, and thankfully Eddie and Bob were going to be in the area the following week. They stopped by and checked to make sure everything was still OK (it was!) and showed me how to re-light the pilot and answered all my questions. They didn't charge me for the follow-up visit. Got referred to B&C comfort from another company that was not able to service my fireplace. Our fireplace had not worked for at least 5 years. Bob came out and fixed it within an hour and the price was very reasonable. I'm having them back to do a tune-up on our furnace and to install a shut-off valve for the gas leading into our fireplace. (This should have been done by code but is no where to be found). I'm also planning on having him back next year to replace our other fireplace once we're ready to tackle that project. The best, the best, the best . . . couldn't ask for a nicer, more professional, better qualified person to help whenever you need fireplace repair, or heating/air conditioning. We had never gotten around to getting our fireplace cleaned and Bob not only did a great job of cleaning it but also got it functioning (it had some quirky issue) . He's been in the business for over 20 years and the experience really shows. True, you have to wait a bit because he can get a little booked, but well worth the wait. Very thorough and trustworthy outfit. They were highly recommended by our fireplace BBQ shop Thompsons as the best to fix our fireplace that quit working. We were warned that there would likely be a wait. ...they were right....~6 weeks. When Bob arrived it was clear he was a true professional. He made sure a clean workspace was established & began troubleshooting the problem. He determined the problem was a bad valve. He had the required part in the work truck, replaced the thermocouple, cleaned the glass front & rebuilt the log display. End bill was ~$450 but more than half was the cost of the valve assembly. It was clear that fixing fireplaces is not a simple task further complicated by lots of manufacturers closing or merging. B & C run a fine business. ..honest & capable. Very happy with the service, starting with the phone conversation with CJ. My furnace had stopped heating but the fan was running constantly for 2 days until I noticed the temp drop in the house and shut it off. It was during the few warm days mid-November. Bob arrived on time on the day of appointment and fixed my furnace (replaced a capacitor). He verified that fan was not damaged (using starting and running amp draws). I asked him to perform a tuneup as well since the furnace hadn't been touched for at least 10 years since we moved into the house. He showed me the flame and said it didn't need tuneup. Bob was a pleasant fellow and performed good honest work on the day after thanksgiving. I actually had reached out to another yelp recommended contractor who emailed me immediately and continued to email me two more times before I eventually called him. He seemed to have a very low "initial visit" cost, and would not say how much the potential cost of the work would be. It wasn't going to be cost per hour, rather it was going to be cost per job (whatever it ended up being). Seemed pretty scammy. I called B&C based on Yelp reviews and how close he was to my house. The cost was reasonable at $160 (incl tax) and I have no complaints and don't look back. I highly recommend this husband and wife company and they will have my future business. read more

I had B & C Comfort fix my gas fireplace in 2012 after researching several companies on Angie's List, the Internet and the BBB. The fireplace would not turn on from the wall switch. They were on time and cleaned and serviced the fireplace. My problem was a really dirty pilot light (hadn't been serviced since installation in 1999). One hour and $185 later it was good to go. It's now it's November 2015 and is still working perfectly. I would definitely recommend and use them again. Update 02/28/2017 I called to make an appointment as my fireplace again would not turn on from the wall switch and there was black soot on the mantle and around the outside exhaust. I was told that the earliest appointment was two months out. I went ahead and made the appointment. Then someone was asking about gas fireplace service on Nextdoor and a few folks suggested RR Fireplace. I called them and was able to schedule an appointment one month earlier. They came out today and did an excellent job fixing my fireplace. They showed me that one of the clips was not fastened on the glass on front and that the logs were arranged in such a way that one was being singed from the flame causing the black soot. The technician asked who had service the fireplace the last time. He also had to look up on the Internet how to arrange the logs because he said the manufacturer uses the same logs in different ways on several of their fireplaces and he thought the previous technician used one of the other configurations by mistake. While fixing the problem, the technician explained the issue to me, showed me the faulty portions, and described what the fix was. He also suggested other small fixes that I could make myself. We hired this company to fix our gas fireplace and they did a great job! We just purchased a home less then 2 years ago and whoever installed the natural gas fireplace did not tighten a valve correctly. We began smelling gas near the fireplace. My fireplace had a problem to provide consistent fire for more than 5 minutes. I have tried at least twice in the past two years and called different handyman checking my fireplace. None of them can even find the root cause but suggesting the hardware replacement plan to me. B&C is actually my last try and it is also the right decision. the B&C comfort technician told me the problem after starring the flame for 30 seconds. it turns out that the problem is caused by the fault airflow pipe installation which exists at the first day of building this house. he fixed this problem in an hour and charged me the very fair price.
