    Mark and Jericha helped me so much. They worked their little butts off helping me design my new living room and linear fireplace! We didn't think electric fireplaces were for us, but after seeing their new DaVinci electric we were in love. They helped with the process from A to Z and we couldn't be more grateful. The showroom was nice and clean and we will for sure be back when we remodel the cabin.

    From the get go Monroe Fireplace met or exceeded our expectations. They came recommended by our chimney sweep and I understand why. We have an older home and thus were limited a little, however, they worked with us to find the perfect fit. They made updates that were custom to us and were upfront with that process. They were clear with pricing and adjusted the bill when some steps were not necessary. They also were similar in price to competitors so we felt we got a good deal with the level of service provided.

    We wanted two new gas inserts to replace the old wood fireplaces. Damon came out to do the measurements and estimate, he was professional, knowledgeable and helpful in providing the information we need to select the correct size inserts. They were able to fit us into their installation schedule earlier than originally promised. The total cost was reasonable but the workmanship of the installation left something to be desired. Follow up is on the way and I look forward to update this to a five stars review.

    After getting a couple of bids, we decided to go with Monroe Fireplace for our new gas insert. Damon came out for a home visit and helped us select the right unit for our space. I appreciate that they sell only the highest quality products. We had a fairly difficult installation because if our retro 60's stone faced fireplace, but he assured me that they had the skill to "make it look right". Other competitors said "no way, it will look terrible." Today the team showed up for the install. They were polite, took care to cover our new flooring, and worked quickly to install our fireplace in just a few hours. Joe did a fantastic job doing some custom trim work to make it fit nicely. We are super happy with our new Lopi and feel like we made the right decision! Thanks Damon and crew!

    CM Heating did an excellent job from the first person who came put and talked us through our new…read moreHVAC systems options to the installers and most recently, Tobin, who came out and inspected a potential problem I reported and provided a ton of great information so we can optimize efficiency and longevity of our systems. Everyone has been really great to work with. May 2024 - I finally scheduled our annual maintenance. They sent James out. He was fantastic. A wealth of knowledge, polite and professional. I signed up for the annual maintenance plan to save money. He made good recommendations based on my needs and concerns of my allergies. Much appreciated! 2026 update - our heat pump stopped working and needed replacement parts. I paid for them to send a tech to diagnose it and they followed through with the work which is under the 10-year warranty. Tech, Hagen was very nice and professional and made sure to answer all of my questions. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I hope that this fix lasts a long time, or at least until we upgrade to a newer, more environmentally friendly unit.

    Their tagline is "there is no beating CM heating" but it should be "no beating like the one CM…read moreHeating gives your wallet." $600 for a regular maintenance and replace parts under warranty for a unit they originally installed incorrectly. They are actually very friendly and customer service oriented when you call them, but not surprisingly their business model is built on grossly high margins and milking as much labor revenue as they can. They installed our air conditioning a few years back and connected the wires wrong. It seemed to work fine but would shut off on days when the temperature got too high. On my first "complimentary" service call, the technician noticed the install was wrong and fixed the wiring. It worked fine. Fast forward a few years to my first paid service call. They set an appointment and then cancelled the evening before and had me reschedule. First world problems but it is hard to arrange your schedule to be around for the service window - so I complained about the inconvenience. On the day of the actual service, two parts were found to be "out of spec" and while the parts were under warranty, they still charged 30 minutes of labor to install them. It rubbed me the wrong way because the call itself is already expensive ($379). That price includes a filter replacement, a cheap one-month filter that doesn't even properly fit the unit. I asked if I could skip the filter and have the price reduced. Of course the answer was no. So they are getting great high-margin revenue from the call, but they couldn't resist tacking on another $160 to replace "out of spec" parts that probably weren't needed. Everything was working. The technician was nice. He even called management to ask if he could waive the service charge. See his notes in the picture I shared. Management valued $160 over any future business. Compare that to The Garage Door Works, who similarly missed an appointment with me and proactively offered a discount on a new door installation as an apology. Or Les Schwab Tire Centers, who fixed a flat tire for free on a tire they didn't even sell me. Just a courtesy. At the end of the day it wasn't the dollar amount, but the fact that they would rather squeeze another 30 minutes of labor out of me than extend a courtesy after two sub-optimal experiences to earn my continued business. It says a lot about what kind of company this is. I left a message for the manager, voiced my frustration, and gave them the option to call me back if they felt they could help. No call. So I wanted to share this with you. It's not unusual for these companies to have bloated rates/fees/prices, but many have the decency to earn your business by going above and beyond, especially because they know how much margin they are already getting on things like service calls. CM behaves differently. My advice is to check out Greenwood Heating and Home Services or Aurora Plumbing instead. I haven't tried Greenwood yet but I personally had a great experience with Aurora Plumbing, and when you shop in their store they have experts who actually want to help you solve a problem. Do business with people that demonstrate customer service through their actions and not their marketing and customer service call scripts. Let me know who you think I should use going forward.

    tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

Warranty on the service - which is great in case I have any recurring issues. Price is a bit on the higher side but I knew that before scheduling the appointment.
