I do not recommend Sundance for gas fireplace repairs or inspections and here is the reason why. We paid $100 for the technician to come to our house, inspect and diagnose why our pilot light would not stay lit. He did not test anything and said he assumed (based on his experience) that the gas valve would need to be replaced as well as the pilot assembly. He said they would have to remove the insert including the fireplace masonry and quoted us between $8,000-$11,000!!! He said he was the best fireplace technician in Washington State. There was no way we were going to even consider this. Our research and inspection of our fireplace insert showed us that the parts could be replaced. It turns out we know someone who had the same experience with Sundance and they fixed it for the cost of the two parts. We had Precision Energy NW test the parts. It was the valve. On the spot he gave us a quote, replaced the pilot assembly and the valve using the same parts we found on Amazon for $650 total. He charged us $2950 for all parts and labor and cleaned the insert, the glass door, adjusted the flame up a little. It looks better than ever! Sundance needs to get an honest technician or change the way they do business. read more

Everything went as expected to spite it was a complicated job. They searched for and found a part in order to finish by move in date. Their people are absolutely great. Very helpful very attentive. They were about " middle of the road" in terms of bids, but they were well worth it. read more

I have been using Sundance for all of my HVAC and fireplace maintenance for about 3 years. The service has always been reasonably priced, and performed well. The process for scheduling an appointment is easy and convenient. Normally, I will be notified of arrival time and they have always bern on time. UPDATE: We are very fortunate that we live just around the corner from the Sundance Energy Services office in Bothell. Our furnace got fixed in a prompt manner, and we are thankful for that. However, I wish Sundance Energy would have been transparent about pricing and willing to right their wrong. We were told that they charge $199 for diagnostic testing, which would be waived if we utilized their repair services. They failed to inform us that their minimum repair charge is $300. I did not receive the receipt at the end of the technician's service because he said something about how it would not go through to my email and that he would have the office staff forward the receipt to me. Later on, the service manager sent the receipt to me via email. The invoice showed the total cost of $429.00 described as furnace diagnostic and replaced faulty pressure switch but had no breakdown of the charges. It was only when I called to verify that I found out about the $300 minimum repair charge. When I called the office person, I was told that she did not know about a $300 minimum. When I told the service manager about that, he said that the office staff would not know about it because they do not talk about such things with the office staff. The service manager rudely said, "we are done," and he hung up on us. So, beware when considering doing business with this company. The people at Sundance are dishonest, predatory, and do not care about their customers. Very disappointing. read more

Our furnace went out right after the snow storm/cold spell hit and it was a nightmare thank goodness for sundance and technician Bryan H. Not only was he early both times he had to come out but he was even willing to work late one day to make sure our family got heat ASAP. I hope we never have heat problems again but if so I'd definitely go back to Sundance hoping for Bryan or a technician with his same attitude and commitment. read more

I didn't end up hiring Sundance. They were pushy and unhelpful during the estimation process and their bids were far more than any other I received. I collected 11 bid from four companies, my experience with Sundance was the worst. My bid was to replace my furnace and add a heat pump. When I had questions about quality of the hardware or differences designs the answers were vague and unhelpful. He frequently fell back on a "we're the best, trust me" line of reasoning, but couldn't back it up with anything other than "people love us so much you're going to have to wait for a month to get the work done." Their bid was for a 16 SEER heat pump and an 80% furnace, total estimate: nearly $13,000 I ultimately went with another HVAC company, Green Top Heating and Cooling, who was more transparent and friendly. They installed a 19 SEER heat pump and 80% furnace for about 60% of Sundance's estimate. When I followed up with them to let them know I was going with somebody else I got a bunch of thinly veiled warnings about the hardware and installation quality or my decision making process. The icing on the cake at the end was when I got an email that they added my email to another spammy referral website without asking. Overall my communication with them was frustrating and their bid was expensive. read more

I hate to say it but I would stay clear of Sundance. I hired sundance to do a heater, air conditioner, tankless hot water heater and some gas piping. It took almost a month for them to come on site to start the work, which was a little dissapointing but would have been fine if they had finished the work. We were told the work would be done that week (last week of october), here we are in Feburary and the work is still not completed. They have been very unresponsive to telephone calls (I've called and left voicemails for multiple people there without timely responses, I've sent emails that were responded to weeks later. At one point I decided to just drive there and sit in their office until someone talked to me which finally worked). Our air conditioner still doesn't work, the water heater is still not installed, and the additional gas pipes have not been run. I am frustrated beyond belief. We went with these guys thinking they were a solid local company but their lack of due dilligence prior to starting the project, lack of communication and terribly long wait times to get the work done (I can't say what quality work they do at this point since they are only half done with the project) leaves me very upset that we chose them as our vendor. If there was a way for me to get another company to come in and do the work and have Sundance pull their stuff out I would. In fairness, some of this delay is my fault, I think you could reasonably add up about of month of delays from me traveling and not responding to emails. The most frustrating thing at this point, is their lack of taking responsibility. The emails I get from them are often defensive and don't accept responsiblity for this. From what I can tell They are not focused on doing the right thing by the customer and they don't see this project as a partnership. At this point we are going to drop the water heater installation from the project. One last thing. Multiple times they tried to insist that I (the husband) was home including claiming that one trip was wasted because I wasn't there (my wife was home so wouldn't have been wasted but they didn't really engage with her), which I interepreted as sexist and insulting. Maybe that isn't how he meant it but certainly how I took it That coupled with a statement that one employees made about them not being a union shop so they have trouble staffing for jobs makes me suspicious of them of a few levels. That isn't confirmed, just repeating what an employee there said so take that for what it is worth. Everything appears to be up and functional now in April. (Some of the delay was my fault, as I was getting bids on having the work completed by someone else). FWIW I ended up having a tankless water heater installed by Bob's Heating and they did a great job, at a lower price. Just to be clear, Deanna states in their response that on 11/2 both units were fully functional. That is not true, they didn't complete the air conditioning hook up until this spring. It was installed, and I'm not sure what all had to happen but they finalized it and hooked it up to our nest in april or so. I should also note that the water heater location we were requesting was agreed to prior to the contract being signed with a consultation from Sundance who assured us it would be fine in the location we asked for. read more

Everyone who works here, they are all so professional and accommodating. From the CSRs (Karen especially), the Sales Rep, the Installers, and Maintenance Reps. I use them whenever I can, since 2002 - yes, they found my original work order. The few times that I did not use them, it was because a company near my house could schedule a service more quickly. I have been reaching out to a half dozen companies for a service call as I have no working gas fireplace which is one of my prime sources of heat. The good is Sundance called me back within a few hours which some companies I have not heard back from at all. The bad is the soonest they could come out to look at my situation was into February next year. There has to be a service company out there to help the people that are in need of heating repairs during this very cold time in the Puget Sound. I have called companies claiming to be 24x7 with no return calls for over 2 day now. Thanks Sundance for the return call but waiting months is unacceptable especially for what a service call will likely cost. Looking elsewhere. read more

I had Bryan come out to my home to complete a general service for my furnace. He was a ROCK STAR HVAC guy!!! He did an excellent job and gave me suggestions on how to save money in the future. Very professional too! Sundance charged me half of what others quoted me to come out ($99.00 vs $199.00). They were also able to get me on their schedule very quickly compared with Bob's who could schedule me for more than a month. I couldn't be happier! read more

We had a great experience with Sundance. We just moved to a new house and our primary heat source is our gas fireplace. It went out this week, the middle of Seattle winter, of course. We had no idea where it had been previously serviced and called 10+ HVAC companies to service our fireplace. All of them said they wouldn't come because we aren't current customers (including our fireplace brand contractors). Sundance was the only place that said they would help us and even though they were booked out for months they puts us on their emergency list and came out in a couple of days. The contractor was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He got our 20+ year old fireplace working but there was still an issue with the vent and he went on the roof to try to clear it. Turns out we need a new unit, which isn't the best news, but it was helpful to have an experienced professional opinion to help us make an educated decision. Docking one star because he couldn't fix it, but sounds like it's truly time to retire our unit. read more

My neighbor complained about the noise from our heat pump so we agreed to move it - wish we would have had a say on who did the work. The workers trampled on my flowers, places a big boulder on one of my ornamental grasses and trashed my brick flower box to the point of my plant ending up in the middle of the yard. I understand that my plants might be in the way, but honestly one could try to not kill them. And of course I never heard back from anyone either when I complained. read more

They called to reschedule my appointment a little after I made it. I had rearranged my work schedule so it was an inconvenience for me, but I was able to reschedule the appointment. A few weeks passed. I got another call from them a few days before the scheduled visit saying that they would have to reschedule again, and this time for a new date that was about 2 months away. I just had my 20 year old furnace replaced by the team at Sundance Energy Service and from beginning to end they did a great job! They diagnosed the problem right away, cracked heat exchanger. Justin showed me the cracks with a flashlight and a mirror so I could see what the issue was. He explained my options and gave me several quotes for the different types of furnaces I could get. I scheduled my install date and their team showed up on time and installed my new furnace. Adam explained the ins and outs of the filter and how to work my new thermostat.
