I had an overall good experience with All Points Heating & Fireplace. Ron came to my home within a week of my phone call to do an estimate. Ron's pricing was competitive with other companies, and about 25-30% less than some of their more expensive competitors. Once I selected All Points, Christopher scheduled my installation of a Kuma wood-burning fireplace insert about a month later. The installation included a chimney cap and stainless steel chimney liner. Overall, the installation was done smoothly. I had one small issue with the fan not turning on, and Christopher sent his men out within a week to fix the issue. The Kuma product is an American-made hybrid wood burning stove with a catalytic converter. It is manufactured in Idaho by a family-run company, and I really like the product. I've enjoyed burning wood in the stove multiple times since purchasing it, and I'm confident that I'll be using the stove every Fall/Winter/Spring for many years to come. I reached out to All Points to get a quote for a wood fireplace insert installation. Chris responded first via email and shared with me some materials to look over. I did some basic measurements to make sure my masonry fireplace would fit the Kumar wood fireplace insert that I would like to get after looking thru the brochure. After that I contacted Chris again and he scheduled an appointment with me to come and take detailed measurements. He did a wonderful job in answering my questions while he was here. In the end I did not go with All Points because I decided to have Regency brand which All Points does not carry. I feel a little guilty leaving a response this late, especially after having a great experience! Moved into a place that had its an originally 1950s furnace and it was not efficient to say the least. I had several quotes from other places, not only was working with Chris was great, the quote was too. They weren't pushy, or salesy like a lot of others I dealt with and took the time to answer all my questions. I ended up getting a newer high efficiency furnace and AC added at the same time. Their installer Damian came out and made quick work of everything. He asked questions along the way to make sure it was set up how I preferred and not just what was quickest easiest. This was all back in the summer and since then the AC has worked great and my heating bills went wayyy down has been great. They offered great service when we first got our A/C installed a few years ago. Then, just the other day, we needed service and it was extremely hot out. We thought we would be miserable having to wait for a repair but they immediately came out to fix the problem. They let us know the fee up front and we were charged that plus the new part but no other mark-ups. Outstanding customer service! All Points did service on my furnace and fireplace. Why outstanding? 1) quick appointment I called because my fireplace stopped working suddenly- right before Christmas . Busy time for this service. Most places are booked out 2 months. So was All Point BUT they put me on a cancel list and actually called me back. I got an appointment in 2 weeks. 2) On time Techs came to my house on the day and time the appointment was scheduled. They were respectful of my home and cleaned everything after themselves. 3) Knowledge I've had my furnace serviced yearly before. Ryan discovered that my damper was rusted open and had been for awhile. No one else noticed that. He didn't even pressure me to repLace it. He explained the advantages of fixing it. He also identified the fireplace issue and gave me options on repairs with explanations on pro/con. I appreciate his time explaining the problem and solutions available. 4) Follow through My fireplace needed a new part that had to ordered ( odd size not frequently used). Ryan ordered the part and CALLED me back when the part was in AND returned to fix it promptly. In comparison, I called another coompany who came out prior and gave me an blank invoice for $700. They sent out Mac who was such a great guy! He explained a lot about what we have, how to upkeep it, and what to look for if we start having issues. I felt he was very honest. Ryan is the epitome of customer service and expertise - after he went above and beyond to restore our gas fireplace functionality (thoroughly cleaned it all out, rearranged it the way it was supposed to be for efficiency and safety, revived the rusting fire grate, and did his magic with the fire starter thingy), he personally responded to us the following week when our pilot light went out again - he drove to our home and got it going again even though it was something we could've done ourselves but couldn't figure out. In Dec 2020, They Installed a gas insert in our family room. They performed the work as planned. The install team was courteous and followed COVID protocol wearing masks when in our home or around others. We had a minor problem with the surround, they ordered the wrong one, but they promptly did a replacement order and switched it out. I was referred to All Points thru a program of Puget Sound Energy that support energy efficiency improvements in residences. AP was efficient and thorough in providing an estimate , and it was in line or better than other ones I got (it is a little hard to compare sometimes as the actual specific equipment (furnaces , hot water heaters, etc) vary as far as brand and/or performance . In the end I replaced an older furnace (20 years approx) with a more efficient one and replaced a tank hotter heater with an inline heater. I ran into difficulty with PSE as they were very slow figuring out if I needed a new gas meter of higher capacity (I did) and then they dropped the ball in coming out to install. Ultimately AP staff Rachel helped me out with PSE and advocated for me and this got PSE moving . Rachel also kept in touch thru the project and always recognized me and knew where things were out. Rachel deserves special recognition. These installations involve a fair amount of planning and measurement and logistics and AP did a great job. All their staff and an electrical sub were great. They always showed up as scheduled. It took me awhile to write this review, so I do not remember all the names. Chris was great and very professional. Finally there were a few minor issues /loose ends left which when I bought to Rachels attention, she scheduled Chris to come out the day after New Years! I don't write many reviews and usually if I do it is about something that went really badly. However A P was so good as above, I felt I needed to recognize them. read more

I have been a satisfied customer of All Points for years. That has changed. The new technicians take a great deal longer than those in the past which generates a much higher labor bill. In March it took Ryan and Cody twice as long as in the past to service the furnace and gas fireplace. To be fair, Cody was training, although I did not see much interaction at all between the two technicians. Ryan worked on the fireplace, Cody on the furnace. That process took 2.5 hours, about the average for previous visits by ONE technician doing BOTH jobs. I was not charged for Cody's time. The owner reached out to me and adjusted a $1280 bill to $556. In 2017 that same service was $297, in 2016 $278, in 2015 $223. Very recently it took Ryan 6 hours of labor to replace a circulating pump, requiring new fittings, etc. Two years ago, another technician from All Points replaced the pump in 2 hours. In 2017, I was charged $590.80 and that included a furnace filter. In 2019, I was charged $1480.64. That was after negotiation with the owner. Originally, Ryan quoted me $800+ for just the pump, not including any labor. I will no longer be using All Points Furnace and Heating. I expect bills to go up, but not at this rate. Nor do I want to "negotiate" what I believe to be outrageous bills any more. All Points no longer has my trust in workmanship or honesty in billing. read more

My wife and I hired this company to install a wall switch on our fireplace. Everything seemed fine up to the point where they were supposed to give us a quote. Someone from the company came over to observe what kind of fireplace we had and he explained the different options we could select. When he left he indicated he would get back to us shortly, but after a week we had not heard anything from them so my wife reached out to him repeatedly and never heard back. My wife emailed the owner instead and we were finally emailed quotes, one of which we selected. But again we couldn't get them to contact us to schedule so after multiple attempts by my wife we finally succeeded in making an appointment for today (December 20th) and were told they would get to us around 8am as their crew would be leaving from Mukilteo around 7:30 and we live in Edmonds. So today my wife and I were waiting for them to show up and by 9am no one had and we had received no phone calls as to why they were running late. My wife called the store and no one answered. She waited 30 minutes, called back again, and finally someone answered. This person (I believe it was Eric) told my wife that our appointment was for Thursday until he checked his email and realized that the appointment was in fact today. He then told us that they had to order a special part that might not be delivered this week. So of course that begs the question of when they planned on telling us this since they had already missed our morning appointment today. Long story short, this company is far from punctual and as a result attempting to use their services proved to be way more stressful than it was worth. Very poor customer service read more

In 2010 my wife and I decided to take the plunge and buy a furnace for our 1986 house. We were very green at being homeowners, but still felt confident in our decision to go with AllPoints. Their salesman seemed knowledgeable and persuasive. The technical crew they sent to us to do the work could not have been more opposite than their sales team. As we got closer to Labor Day weekend the finish work was rushed and ultimately botched. Being new homeowners, we didn't inspect the finished product until it was too late. Fast forward a half decade later and now we're coming face to face with all of their inadequacies. We are currently remodeling our home and seeing first hand the shortcuts, lack of attention to detail, and the low quality installation that took place 5 years ago. When going into our crawlspace AND attic it was evident that no or very little clean up was done. Insulation is everywhere and no longer serving its purpose. The cold air return looks functional from the outside, but when pulling off the drywall for our remodel and seeing the grate from behind the wall, you notice that there is very little surface area for cold air to return to the furnace. When talking to other HVAC companies in regards to our current remodel project, each one has made disparaging comments on the inefficiency of the current pipe routes, insufficient cold air return, crawlspace mess, and choice in materials they used (diameter of pipe, etc). Each company has thrown in additional costs to their bids to fix the problems that occurred from the AllPoints work. This has been a tough life lesson to learn and an unnecessary one. If I could do it over, the next time, when spending $13,000 on a new furnace and ductwork, I would do even more research on the reputation and credentials the company doing the work. I would ask more questions about the qualifications of the subcontractors they use. Most importantly, I would not choose to use AllPoints Heating and Furnace. read more

As it turned out, Tony installed my new furnace a few years ago, but he also showed up to relocate it a few months ago for our basement remodel. Redoing things in construction is NOT fun. It takes a positive attitude to rework what you had done a few years earlier. But that is not what set Tony apart from others whom I've worked with in the construction world for the past 40 years. I had strict requirements for routing ductwork and there were many challenges. Tony and I would review the impossibility of the situation and then he would have an idea for a possible solution. I didn't work with PSE and the specific individuals at AP may not be exactly the same, but otherwise, I echo Mark L's well written review. Had a great experience with AP. I had a complicated install because the furnace is in my attic and I wanted to add air conditioning and go 90%+ energy efficient so a lot more equipment had to go into my attic than was their originally and then had to connect to the outside unit which was basically at basement level. The electrical sub did an amazing job of getting from my electrical panel to the outside unit. There were a couple of issues afterwards and they came out and addressed them both and I think have fixed them (one was a small leak so I won't know for sure until drier weather). I chose the Carrier brand and as far the compressor noise, it's really quiet which is what I wanted since the unit is in the backyard which is where I hang out. The ONLY problem is one AP says they can't fix--there is a constant hum from the transformer that is 24/7. I am bummed about that and intend to reach out to the manufacturer to see if there is anything that can be done. If I get it together, I'll let you know what their response is. Other than that issue (which from my point of view is a big one) I was very pleased with all aspects of the install. read more

Terrible communication. First, the wait for an appointment was almost 2 weeks, then they claimed that they left a message that their technician hurt herself and had to reschedule after I waited all morning for someone to show up on the appointment date. I had to call the office to find this out. Wasted my whole morning. Their next appointment date for the day that I can be at home won't be for weeks down the line.
