Right after installation, my gas bill jumped from $30 to $350 a month for several months. Three different technicians came out before they finally found a defective part in the new furnace. I kept asking the owner what exactly was wrong, but no one ever gave a clear answer -- they don't seem to communicate with each other at all. Most recently, a tech left my furnace running but disconnected from the thermostat. It blew loud nonstop air for 12 hours, making it impossible to sleep or stay in my house. On the scheduling side, Elena took great care of me and kept me in mind for any cancellations during a time when fireplace services were booked out several months. Elena also was willing to work with me on a follow up warranty request even though I contacted her slightly outside of the warranty period (completely my fault for the lack of communication). On the service side, Justin Lanier was my technician. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and it was evident he takes great pride in his work. I had called about 5 heating companies trying to schedule one. Some wanted to charge me juts to come out and look. Others were booked out quite a ways. No one went out of their way to help (I did not expect them to). I called Alexander's Heating and Air Conditioning and talked to Scott about the problem. He was also booked out 1 1/2 weeks but he enquired about the problem I was having (the furnace kept tripping the circuit breaker). We talked on the phone for about ten minutes. He looked up the model number of my furnace, pulled up a diagram and specs, and asked a lot of questions. He determined that the problem was most likely my GFI circuit breaker. I rerouted my electrical for the furnace and the circuit breaker no longer tripped. He went out of his way to help without me incurring any cost for his services. Our A/C stopped blowing cool air during the June 2020 heat wave. Alexander's Heating promptly responded to my Yelp inquiry with their next available time and date (about 10 days, vs 6 weeks from other businesses), and the cost for a visit + diagnostic test. Justin the technician arrived on time on the service date. He inspected the furnace and A/C unit, and ran diagnostic tests on the A/C unit. He quickly determined that it was just a blown capacitor, and provided the cost to fix. He quickly replaced the part and checked to make sure the A/C was blowing cool air again. Good service and good work performed. Friendly technician. I'm happy with the job from beginning to end, and will consider them again for any future needs. read more

**EDIT**: Upon learning of my poor experience, the service manager got back to me and admitted to the service being substandard and promptly refunded my service fee. I have bumped up the review by a star for the professionalism and responsiveness of the service manager. I had them come out to troubleshoot a gas fireplace that was not turning on. The tech from Alexander's heating arrived on time, but it quickly became apparent to me that he didn't seem to have much expertise on gas fireplaces, or experience fixing them. He didn't even open up the glass panel to dig deeper or to look at potential root causes. All he did was looked around a little at the control knobs and valves at the bottom, talked to someone on the phone, and told me that it needed a new part. He then said he called the fireplace company to get an estimate and delivery ETA on parts, and that they'll get back to me the same day, or the following day at the latest. Ten days have passed since the appointment. I have heard nothing, none of my calls have been answered and no voicemails returned. This, in the middle of a severe cold snap, and with a 2-month old in the house. The fireplace is our source of auxiliary heat when temperatures go into the low teens as the heat pump's efficiency drops at such low temperatures. Tired of waiting around, I contacted another heating company that actually sent an expert technician who went to work right away, opened up the unit, determined the root cause to be a clogged valve and broken seal on the burner assembly, cleaned up the valve, resealed the burner on site, and viola! we have a working fireplace again, no new parts needed. Here I am, $180 down in "service fee" for Alexander's Heating with no service, no problem diagnosis, no communication, and just lack of professionalism all around. read more

I had them Install a tankless hot water heater that was set to run off of propane when they installed it they left the natural gas fitting in instead of the propane one. My entire system burned up. They sent a technician out and he confirmed that they installed it wrong when it was new. They are 100% Responsible for the failure of my system. There service manager Scottie said he would talk to the owner Alex and get back to me the next day and they would have some type of resolution that would make me happy. This is the first time I had to file a Better Business Bureau Complaint to a business, good job Alexander's Heating! Their staff are far from professional, the business owner and technicians refuse to talk to you and ignore all your calls and emails. They hide behind doors and refuse to even make any efforts trying to provide a satisfying solution to the trouble they caused! I would highly recommend avoid using them for your AC/heating installation/maintenance!!! 07/21/2021 - A/C unit installation 07/24/2021 - The first hot day, so we turned the A/C on. After around 4 hours, my wife noticed ventilators had trouble sending cool wind off. Around the same time, I reached out to Alexander's Heating requested an inspection. Scott who was in charge of the maintenance work arrived the next week, did an inspection and diagnosed there was an issue with TXV. They mentioned it could take roughly 2 weeks to have the replacement part arrive to them. 09/02/2021 - Their technician Justin Lanier came and replaced the malfunction part. 09/03/2021 - The very next day, we realized the same issue happened. Then reached out to their maintenance department. 09/15/2021 - Justin did a second inspection and noticed the same malfunctioning with TXV. They told us they need to replace TXV...(I seriously doubt if they really know the root cause of the issue!!!!) and they suggested to wait till next summer when the weather is hot, so they can fix and test the system. 09/21/2021 - I emailed Alexander's Heating expressed my frustration about this issue. Since the A/C was installed on July, for the past 2 months, IT NEVER WORKED FOR A FULL DAY WITHOUT ISSUE! WE HAD TO USE FANS THE WHOLE TIME! My wife is running a family daycare business at home, all kids have a lunch break nap time from 1PM to 3PM. Every time their technician came to our house for inspection and repair, it disturbed her schedule and my work from home schedule too. Plus we really doubt if the issue can be fixed by KEEP REPLACING THE STUPID TXV! We requested them to remove the A/C and give us a refund. Did not receive any reply... 09/24/2021 - I called their office again, Scott was on the phone and told me they could keep fixing the issue since the unit is still under warranty, but they CANNOT guarantee the next fix could resolve the problem, and they CANNOT remove it and refund us since they 'would be out of money'. According to Scott, 'things do break', and having their A/C broken the next day after the fix don't happen a lot but 'is normal' (To anyone reading this, please consider if you want to experience this NORMALITY!) After I explained why the solution they offered won't work for us, Scott said he would let Mr. Alexander call me directly. And THAT CALL NEVER HAPPENED! 09/25/2021 till today - I kept calling and emailing them trying to resolve the issue. I had Alexander Heating come out to assess my fireplace insert and they charged me $170 to tell me what I already knew -- my pilot light was broken. At that time I asked them to order the parts and come back for repair. Technician was very nice at the time -- so I thought -- no problem let's get this fixed. That was all he wrote -- he left and never came back or called to follow up! I have called REPEATEDLY and left messages-- receptionist told someone would call me back and it has been over month and a half and not one response! I have emailed repeatedly as well. Just so you know, the house call costs $170 and that money DOES NOT go toward a repair or future repair. So sorry Yelp suggested this company! Yesterday (6/29/21), your man Scott came to our house to fix our Bryant air conditioning unit which conked out a couple days prior, just as we were experiencing a historical heat wave in the Pacific NW with temperatures running 100-112 degrees three days in a row. Unheard of here. No superlatives are enough to describe the fast, efficient, professional, effective way he fixed our unit, and at a fair price. Scott came at the time he said he would, looked at our unit for about a second and a half (maybe less) and knew what the problem was (a failed capacitor) and replaced it chick-chock. The unit was humming and spitting out cold air immediately. He also made sure the rest of the unit was functioning well, including the compressor and refrigerant, even taking care not to let any refrigerant leak out during his inspection. I originally hired Alexander's per my realtor recommendation, when I first moved to my house, to bring a gas line to new gas range, fireplaces, dryers and bbq and they did a fabulous jobs. Recently I hired Alexander's again about a month ago, to install an AC unit & coil, as our summers are getting hot and hotter and I dealt with Dean as I had previously. First of all, Dean is very knowledgable of HVAC world, knows about all brands, thermostats, vent work, their pricing is very competitive in this area, and their workmanship is excellent. They'll give you a quote based on your needs and that's very important for me! I also decided to go with the Honeywell Redlink Thermostat as opposed to my Nest, it works really well and I very happy with the system overall, especially all the support they gave me on using this system. If I could give zero stars I would. Alexander's heating installed a Fujitsu mini split system for me in 2015. In May of 2022, the system had an epic failure. I've now had 6 different HVAC experts, technicians and sales people out from 4 different industry companies to give bids on repair versus replacement. Each and every one has started by saying what a "horrible installation job" "total neglect" "not the standard for safety or material even in 2015." On top of that, I had Alexander's heating out first, Dean Covell, since they did the job. Its been a month now. No repair bid, no return calls or texts, never connected me with the Fujitsu rep "the next day" as promised. They will not give me the phone number for the owner and Alex has not returned my communications. They are clearly avoiding my communications because they saw what a terrible job was done when they came out and are trying to avoid taking responsibility for their terrible work. More than one service tech has said that their poor installation was definitely the reason the unit failed. It should've lasted me 15 years, it only lasted 7. And not seeing the damage show up until 7 years later is totally feasible. read more

These guys fixed my problem before their competitors could show up, with a labor cost that there competitors could not match! Over the phone troubleshooting, onsite within a couple hours of my phone call (the same day), found and overnighted parts for my antique furnace and had it working by noon the next day. Their competition: I called around and their best competitor was not going to be onsite until the next afternoon.
