Sadly, I cannot recommend Bekins, because they lost two Turkish silk area rugs that had belonged to my mom. My mom died of Covid and I was having her stuff moved from her retirement home in Spokane Valley to my home in Las Vegas. I was expecting that stuff might get broken, but I wasn't expecting that two large items would simply go missing. The response I got from Bekins was, "Oh well, sometimes that happens." Other than Bekins losing stuff, everything else about the move was just fine. Kent, the estimator, was nice and helpful as can be, and the packers were very professional. Nothing was broken! The truck driver was great about communicating when he expected to arrive and his helpers were efficient. Maybe the helpers were too efficient, as I almost took delivery of someone else's box of Hannukah stuff. I was the truck driver's last stop, so everything left on the truck was supposed to be mine. Uh oh. Is someone missing their Hannukah stuff, but perhaps enjoying my rugs? I can only hope. When I pointed out the missing rugs, the driver seemed baffled and said he didn't remember seeing them, but thought it possible they were left in the warehouse. Argh. No help from Spokane. They said the rugs were on the truck. Next time I have stuff moved, I'll use a service that puts all my stuff in one crate, so it doesn't get mixed up with anyone else's. read more

Cannot recommend. Scheduled an in-home estimate for 1PM with Kent. Kent called me at 1PM and said he was running late. Rescheduled for 3:30PM. Texted at 3:45PM and said that he was in Spokane (2 hours away) and wouldn't be coming. Very unprofessional. Wasted an entire afternoon. Will take my business elsewhere. read more

We cancelled and then got a Call back after they said they could not make the original scheduled appointment and said "oh yes NOW we can make it," we said forget it! I got in touch Bekins to get a quote on moving some furniture. I put in an inquiry online and got a call within about 30 minutes. Rick showed up right on time, however I was running about 5 minutes late. He took off, but I was able to call and get him to turn around. I found it odd that they didn't call and at least see if I was coming. Regardless, Rick and was very polite. I took him around and showed him everything we were interested in moving. After punching the items into his computer, he took off. The next day, I received the quote - which seemed a bit more expensive than one other that I received. Overall, the process was easy and convenient. I'm not sure if I'll end up using them - but they seem professional and easy to work with! read more

We hired Bekins to move our business. Lots of heavy and sensitive machinery, so to say I was very nervous about who I chose is a major understatement. Thankfully Justin and his crew proved to be 100% capable professionals! Even from the initial estimate, I was struck by Juston's professionalism and confidence that they could get the job done. He walked me through every step to make sure we were both on the same page and was always available if I had a question to ask or quick change to make. Come moving day, they arrived precisely on time, managed to move our business in less than a day, and did it without any damage to our equipment! All in all, my experience with Bekins was incredible. The process was fine until the end. Well we were told the company could pick up the boxes and packing materials after the move which is not entirely true. IF the company is in the area then they will stop by as a "Courtesy" but otherwise your name goes on a list until the truck is in the area. Next, I packed everything myself. I spent about month packing up everything the way it should be packed according to many of the professional packing directions i read and with some help from the moving company itself, giving me some coaching. The day of the move the crew was actually impressed with how well everything was packed and shrink wrapped. The crew was courteous and worked hard to load the truck on time. Of course the problems start once the load arrives but in this case i did not know the load had some breakage since it was delivered to a storage unit. Either the pool table end that was broken happened in transit or when the unload crew packed it away in the storage unit. It is now costing me about $400 to replace the piece that was solid wood before I can put the table frame back together. This piece was wrapped in blankets and shrink wrapped just like every other piece of furniture. The issue happened because one of the crew placed the piece on its side instead of vertical like it should have been. The joint had to much pressure placed on it until it gave way. When I submitted a claim i was given a reply that they were not responsible for the breakage. They sited essentially the following: I packed the piece myself prior to loading, I signed off on accepting the load when it arrived. So, essentially unless Northwest Bekins packs and loads the cargo they are never going to be responsible for any breakage and if you spend the time to check every box and piece of furniture that comes off the truck then they will not be responsible for any damage. Now, if I was to inspect every piece of cargo the unloading would take more than twice as long and the company would pay out even more than it would take to reimburse me for my single item of breakage. Of course, I am not the one that hired the crew to unload it was Northwest Bekins, which does make them liable for any damage after the load arrives, they knew they were delivering to a storage unit prior to accepting the job. After receiving the letter of denial of breakage I called the person listed on the letter and have never received a call back, ir has been about four days since the call. In my experience, this probably applies to all moving companies, inspect every piece of cargo when you are paying a flat rate, if it takes them double to unload then it is no skin off your nose because your rate has already been set. Of course this assumes they will not just take off with your stuff when they do not unload after 8 hours. read more

Horrible experience. Rude, foul language, slowest movers ever. Estimated 8 hours, took over 10 and I had already transported two truckloads that were included in the estimate. Broke three separate pieces of furniture, put a hole in the wall. Dumped water on the floor (from a/c) then when I apologized they responded with I don't care about your floors I care about my wet g""""ed socks and shoes. Totally incompetent. Only thing done right was their receptionist was excellent and they easily rescheduled my move at the last minute. read more

Not impressed. I requested a quote online and received a phone call. The guy was really nice on the phone and we arranged for him to inspect my apartment at 5pm the following Monday. At 5:15 he calls and gives me a story that he borrowed his wife's car and "ran out of gas". He said his sons would come and bring him gas and he would still try to make it. I offered to re-schedule and he just said he'll call me back and let me know. So I waited for a call and nothing. Still no calls from him. Terrible customer service. I took time out of my schedule to make sure I was available at that time so I could make arrangements and find out the cost. I've never had a company simply flake out like that. Moving is stressful and difficult to plan. I have never hired movers before and was looking forward to the experience. I guess they didn't want my business. Luckily I have family who stepped in to offer to help. Thanks for wasting my time. read more

Most stressful experience ever. Estimator was incompetent, estimated 2500 pounds, final weight 5300 pounds. In addition, delivery of furniture was 6 days late, lousy communication, when delivery made they left a gas leaf blower on the truck. Still have not received the leaf blower, delivery of furniture was Nov 21 and I am writing this on Dec 12. Supposedly it will be delivered at 8 am tomorrow??? In all fairness, headquarters did give me $150 a day for the 6 days they were late. Every step of the way I had to fight for this. All I kept hearing was we are sorry. The extra weight cost me an additional $1300, the $900 refund of being late helped defray some of the cost but I feel that they should have negotiated the overage on the weight. I would think twice about using this company, very unfair business practice. read more

Best moving experience I have ever had. The crew in Spokane came through after I had to cancel the original movers hired and needed another mover last minute. I called Bekins on Tuesday in a panic and by Thursday morning my boxes were picked up and on route to San Diego with no extra charge for the last minute pick up. The boxes arrived on time to their destination, no damage, no extra hidden charges. I would give them 10 stars if I could !!! read more
