DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I was shopping around for a moving company to move the contents of a one bedroom apartment into a storage unit. I found Move For Less and based on the reviews I reached out for a quote. The storage facility is in the same neighborhood as the apartment building in Queene Anne, so this move should have been quick and low hassle. I had selected the moving only option (I had everything packed so I didn't need packing services). I sent photos of the items I needed moved and was quoted a 3-4 hour job for between $400 and $600. I have moved these exact items a few times before, and the jobs have taken between 3 and 4 hours, so I had no issue with my quote and booked the move. Two men showed up under the company name "Two Men and a Van" which is probably contracted under Move For Less, which I wasn't informed about but as I needed to move I just went along. I signed the first initial signatures for the contract (the start time and the insurance option) and they began moving my stuff. Everything was ready to go so how did it take them 4 hours just to load up the truck? I had boxes taped up and ready to go, and they took their time to tape over the TOPS of each box (which were already taped). If they wanted to secure the bottoms I would be more understanding....but the tops??? They also used their own wardrobe boxes (which they ended up charging me for) to put items in. Why am I getting charged for packing services when I only hired them to move from point A to point B? It was very clear they were padding the time, so be aware of that before hiring this company. They loaded everything up, shut the door, and then demanded over $600 CASH before they would finish the job. They threatened to take everything to their storage facility in Kent and I could get it once I paid. This was already at the tail end of what they quoted me, and the job was only halfway done. I refused to pay them in cash until the job I hired them for was completed, because I'm not handing cash over to a company that is already acting shady. I also spoke to their supervisor and refused to pay the high amount. After a lot of back and forth, he agreed to a lower amount and they would complete the job. I told them I would meet them at the storage facility, which the two men said they were going to stop for food and meet me there. If this is based on hours worked, I'm not paying for you stop for food. This whole situation was already giving me a bad feeling, but I needed my stuff back so I met them in the front of the storage unit. They STILL wanted cash before unloading my stuff, and kept the engine running and wouldn't even get out of the truck. I fully believe they would have taken my cash and driven off in order to get me to pay the "full" amount. I heard them on the phone with their supervisor since it was on speaker, and after they told him what I told them he very clearly said to tell me to "get fucked". They ended up driving off and I was sent an email later saying my stuff was in their storage facility in Kent and I could pick up my stuff after paying $1300 dollars, as well as the monthly $350 for putting my stuff in their storage unit. After I requested the contract I saw that they signed the remaining part FOR me. I sent a message asking them who signed for me, and they admitted to signing it THEMSELVES. THIS IS FRAUD. When you look up common moving scams, this company checks every box. They will jack up the price, hold your stuff hostage if you can't pay, and then act like you agreed to it. The funny thing is, when I clicked the link to see my account with them, my original quote changed to double the price. Legally, they can't charge you more than 110% of the original quote, so they changed it on their end. Good thing I took screenshots of everything. Please don't use this company, and if you do, screenshot everything. I have included photos to show proof of their scams. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Moving out from Merrill Gardens during the Corona Virus was quite a complicated experience, especially since I was very traumatized from being kept prisoner there for six weeks before the move! I moved into Merrill Gardens this past November, as an Independent resident since I couldn't find a regular senior apartment in the location I wanted. It was fine...and I was leading my normal extremely active lifestyle UNTIL the monster Pandemic occurred! Then, all residents of Merrill Gardens were literally "locked down"...unable to leave the building or have any company coming in at any time. I knew I couldn't stand not being able to go out at all, but since I'd been relatively happy at Merrill Gardens before the shutdown, it took me awhile to come to grips with whether I should move out temporarily to a sublet, and wait for the shutdown to be lifted, or find an apartment to move out permanently. I finally decided, since it is unknown how long the lock down will last, I should find an apartment and move out permanently. But that wasn't easy because of the salary requirements of the Seattle rental quagmire. Staying in the neighborhood I wanted was very challenging! Anyway, I FINALLY was lucky enough to find a decent apartment. I could only tour it virtually, but it seemed okay. I'm sorry, I know you only want to know about the services of this moving company!...But I felt I had to add a bit about my history so you'd realize what these two guys, Dan and Robert, had to contend with! An old lady stressed to the max and an Assisted Living Retirement Center manager who was very unhappy about having to have movers come into their facility, and making it clear to them the time frame they had to meet and the other "hazmat" type requirements. Okay, finally to the part you're interested in! This moving company is obviously the very best in Seattle. I've never been impressed with any other moving company I've used! Even the ones recommended by Merrill Gardens as specialists for senior citizens would not even compare to these two employees who were obviously very well trained, they took the utmost care with everything and worked unbelievably fast too. They seemed to shake off the stress that I know they must have been under and were just the very best you could ask for! And Alice, the office manager was very caring and helpful You cannot go wrong with this moving company! read more

The team was very efficient and professional. We moved from our 3 bedroom house to 2 bedroom condo a couple of days ago. The booking process was smooth and easy and both people I spoke to were super nice and friendly. Great communication and the price was competitive. Movers showed up on time, wearing a mask, and maintained social distancing, we moved during this Covid-19 and we needed to follow this regulation for our safety. After some introductions and discussions about the process, they quickly got straight to their work. They repaired some boxes, wrapped many furniture items and carefully organized the storage locker where my contents are now stored. I had this big couch that took an our to get in but took them 10 mins. to get it out with no damage. Amazing! The packing and unpacking was done promptly with utmost care and no time was wasted unnecessarily. All of our belongings was places in our new home in the right place, with no damages and scratches. They worked hard all day with great attitudes and really went above and beyond in helping with our move. Moving in general is a difficult and tiring task and having a company to take care of it with such professionalism is a weight off our shoulders. THIS is a company that truly puts customer care first - and in this day and age, that is worth every penny (and to mention the prices are very reasonable). Leading up to my move, Murphy's Law was at every corner - delayed move in date via landlord, our kitten almost dying from a bladder obstruction, my clients (I create 3D renderings and animations) were slow to keep projects moving, family illness, etc popped up right until the day of the move. Move For Less accommodated for my chaos. The three gentlemen (from Move For Less) who arrived to help in both the packing and unpacking were considerate, communicative, attentive, kind, listened to my concerns, etc were nothing short of a miracle. I'm not kidding or being hyperbolic - they were exactly what you would hope for but not expect. The professionalism to the packing and protection of my home's goods was outstanding (and it was clear they cared beyond just the paycheck. i.e. yes, they work to make money, but they had something that went beyond that: they wanted to do a good job - for themselves, for the company, and for me, their customer. We needed to pack up my youngest daughter from her apartment and help her move back home. Her sister found Move For Less on the internet and called them. The price they gave her was very reasonable and they could do the job quickly. On the scheduled day of the move, two young men Dan and Ulan rolled up to the apartment building in a large white truck. I took them to the apartment which was on the second floor of the building of which could only be accessed by stairs. I showed them the things we needed moved which were too heavy for my middle daughter and I to pick up. They went to work packing up the furniture and carrying it down the stairs to their truck. Everything was handled with care and wrapped in plastic if it needed protection. I couldn't believe how quickly they removed everything. In a little over one hour, we were all headed to my house. Dan and Ulan parked next to my basement where everything needed to be stored. They brought everything in and gently placed it where I asked them to in record time. They were very polite and experienced in moving. I would recommend them and their company to my friends and neighbors with a 5 star rating. read more

The movers were friendly and fast enough but they left holes and scratches on my walls, chips in the interior walls and exterior trellis, left my items taken apart and covered in plastic wrap, and put tape on a wooden family heirloom resulting in the finish being torn off. I was almost willing to forgive them for all of that until last night when I finally got to connecting my TV I realized that it is broken despite my asking them to REPEATEDLY handle it better and being told "it's OK" and "I am a TV guy so I promise it's alright" --- no, it wasn't because now it is broken. These movers are going to cost me hundreds, if not more, in repairs and replacement costs not including attempting to restore my generational valued items. In short, if you care about your home (mine was a brand new purchase) or your belongings, DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY! Edit: A little over a month later they did compensate about half the cost of the TV and enough money to hopefully hire someone to fix the walls. They were unable to find someone to fix them, however. I still would not use this service again but I do feel better about it. read more

Move for Less was able to schedule a next-day move for me (and on the last day of the month!). I was scheduled for a 3-5pm start time, out of a storage unit and into an apartment building. But I hadn't heard from my movers by 4:30pm so I gave them a call -- my storage facility was closing at 6pm. My movers informed me that they'd arrive around 5:30pm or so, but once I mentioned that my storage facility was closing at 6, my original movers found a different team, included an additional mover free of charge, and arrived at my storage facility to move out my stuff at 5:20pm. The move itself was very quick, all my stuff was moved out of my storage unit and into my new apartment by 6:30pm! I know it's hard to predict how long moves will take, so I don't fault Move for Less for being a little late, and I'm very grateful to them for finding another solution so quickly when they realized the first team couldn't meet my deadline. COVID info: my movers all wore masks (and so did I). One mover had the mask pulled down to expose his nose initially, but later on he adjusted it. read more

Glad to put in a good in a good word for the Move-For-Less team. We had a challenging situation for the team. We needed to move several large pieces of furniture, 1000+ books, and almost the whole contents of our adult child's apartment that we were holding in storage. We had had a water leak in our daylight basement, and needed to get things out of the way so that repairs could be made. Some items were packed and ready to go - but many were not. Items -- furniture, books, were spread out in several major piles covered by painter's plastic. Most of the 1000+ book volumes were still on the shelves. The team packed books straight from the shelves into boxes, and quickly -- but carefully -- wrapped all variety of items quickly but carefully using strong plastic wrap. And I mean everything -- a 51" television set, mirrors, lamps, a large china hutch, large table, chairs, exercise equipment and more. The team was quick, efficient, careful (very important), and professional throughout. I'd definitely use them again. read more

I initially reached out for a quote and got some many responses so I forgot about them. Then Alan called and texted a few times to answer additional questions. I decided to go with another vendor since they were a bit cheaper. However at 10:30pm PT the day before the move the other vendor canceled last minute. I texted Alan right away at 11pm PT and he said he will do his best to make it work next day. Alan followed up in the morning and got everything booked for the day after. His team arrive early and worked from 9am-12:30am that day. The original estimate was just 6 hours but took well over 15 hours with no complaints. Every single mover was patient and kind. They worked hard and had forgot to bring in the TVs in at 12:30am and came back at 1am and unpacked the TVs and asked if there was anything else they could do for my elderly parents hours after they already got paid. The two movers who showed up from Move For Less to help us were absolutely amazing. James and his partner showed up early to setup, had all the supplies we needed for our move, and in less than 3 hours we were able to have our entire apartment packaged, boxed, and stored in our unit. These two carefully wrapped, boxed, and moved all of our things with no problem, and did not even stop for a second for a break! These two are some of the hardest workers I've seen, and after being burned by a few moving companies in the past, we will only use Move For Less. They have an online portal with dedicated customer support that actually responds, and before your move can upload photo's and and inventory list of your move with is very nice to know there will be 0 hidden costs/fees when they show up. Best prices you can get for hard workers and a reliable service. I wouldn't risk contacting any other movers but Move for Less. read more

Move For Less...what can I say? In one word...Phenomenal! We had a difficult move, to say the least. The house sold much quicker than anticipated and we were unprepared. John, of Move For Less was so accommodating. We had scheduling issues, on our end, and had to move items over two different days...John said it was no problem. His men tirelessly moved the items; some very heavy, some awkward (stuff in a garage). I say tirelessly, they were getting tired by the end of the day but they pushed on, carefully and professionally finishing up the job on the first day, about 8 hours. The second day was much smoother as most items were already packed. He sent over a 3 man crew and they had the 26' van loaded, moved to new location (storage unit), and unloaded in 6 hours. Great moving company! I hired Move for less llc to move me from Bellevue to Mill creek on 5/14/17.This was the best experience we've ever had with movers... They Showed up on time worked very hard and were respectful with our stuff . Before we left Bellevue they gave me an estimated quote of what they thought the charges would be and final total came in under what they quoted me :) They use wheel lifts , padded dollies, used lift belts which allowed them to move large pieces of furniture safely also they nicely wrapped our things in plastic wrap and moving blankets it was perfect job. The amount of work they were able to do in 6 hours with 128 an hour for 3 people was astonishing . Best of all, they were professional and polite with me and my husband .Excellent service! I've used Move for Less now 4 times in 3yrs, and everytime they beyond exceed my expectations. Not only do they show up on time, but they have extra packing supplies in case I need any. They wrap my items to protect them, and SUPER wrap my delicate & precious items (electronics, high value items like pc chair/pc desk/desktop towers/etc). I requested 3 people to assist in my move on 11/27 because I was moving to a place with 3 flights of stairs (36 steps). Seriously don't know where they get their energy from but they were go go go and completed everything in record timing! This time Jordy, Fernando, and Rodrigo helped and I am forever grateful. I have been moving myself between apartments for years, using a two door hatchback like a clown car but I decided to pay for movers this time. I was very concerned about the cost and care anyone would use, and these guys did not disappoint. By far, they had the best moving rates per person per hour. Alice was professional and communicated with me before and during the move to confirm everything was going as planned. When the guys showed up, they thought it might take 8-9 hours because we lived in a top floor apartment with no elevator and 6 flights of stairs, and we're moving into a 3 story townhome with two flights. They got it done in 4.5 AND they jumped my car with truck when it died! They took care of all my belongings and there were no hidden fees. Super nice guys! I used their service for the first time and it was a great experience. They were very careful during the move and the overall experience was pretty smooth. Had some difficulty getting all of my stuff because my room is on the second floor and just needed to use stairs,  but they managed to make it without any scratches or damages. Easy to work with, fast and efficient. I liked the way they handled my things during the whole process. They wrapped all my furniture and fragile things very well for water and damage protection. Not worrying about packing and moving the furniture, lifting the boxes, and moving all my things to a storage unit and they made my move hassle-free. Moving during this pandemic is really stressful, but with the help of Move For Less, everything went smoothly. They arrived on time, the crew wearing a mask and respectfully greeted us, following the social distancing and started what they needed to do. I had a lot of glass furniture and these guys took extra care to wrap everything, as in twice. They took the time to disassemble and reassemble everything. They brought all the proper equipment for packing and loading/unloading my belongings, everything moved very carefully and nothing was damaged or broken, The movers were polite and well trained in handling people's properties, treating my stuff like their own. I used move for less twice in three days to accommodate a fairly sizable and complicated move encompassing three different stops (condo unit, furniture store, & storage unit(s)) before delivering everything to our house in crown hill. I'm not sure which company the reviewer below is referencing in her negative review, but I found all the movers to be in their 20's and spoke/understood English very well. They worked their tails off and were delightful to engage with. I have an insanely high bar for customer service (primarily thanks to the customer obsessed company I work for) and can say 100% that John (owner) is focused on providing an amazing end to end experience for his customers. I will use John and his crew again and refer them to fellow co workers if they ever need strong backs and top notch service. read more
