We hired Movable for moving from our apartment into our new home after being recommended by a colleague. They are as good as it gets. First I got the quote from their online tool, and within 2 hours Julia responded. I then asked her multiple questions over several emails over mattress protection, TV protection, dumping unwanted items and she replied very promptly with a crisp answer for every question. The pricing was very transparent. On the moving day (today) the movers texted me as they were running 15-25 minutes late. When they arrived, they noted the time, confirmed it on paper and got me to sign. We were not sure whether they will take items slowly given it's a hourly-billed business, so there's an incentive to delay. On the contrary, both the guys (Victor and Miro) were extremely swift- we just gave them rough instructions of what to get, they took it from there completely- taking utmost care to protect all our sofas, glass items, mattress etc by wrapping in multiple layers of plastic. This also insulated it from rain. They used elevator only for heaviest items, and took the stairs otherwise for quick turnout. They moved all the items without fumbling, and were able to fit all our furniture, boxes, suitcases and miscellaneous items in one go. Neither of Victor or Miro look very bulky or muscular, but don't look initial looks fool you- they are extremely efficient at carrying and don't even visibly struggle to lift items which are extremely heavy. Once in our new house, they were very respectful of our request to take off shoes in carpeted areas which we got steam cleaned even though it could be very inconvenient while lifting a huge mattress. They made sure everything was placed exactly as we wanted it, and when we were unable to figure the couch configuration in the first iteration they entertained our multiple requests to lift it and re-align so it could recline best. They installed felts for us on our tables as we asked so as to not scratch hardwood floors. They arranged our bedroom exactly as we wanted it, and made sure we'd seen it thoroughly and examined to our satisfaction before finishing. They even carried our suitcases up the stairs. Not one item had even the slightest of damage. They brought a good end to what was otherwise a nightmare experience for me and my wife moving items ourselves over 20 days. If we had known Movable would be so efficient, we would have moved less ourselves and let them do more of the moving. Extremely satisfied. Some things worth knowing: 3 hours is minimum. We were done in 2 hours only. For dumping items, it costs extra. There is a one-time fee for travel too, and extra fee for stairs. There is a 3% processing fee for cards, and 5% discount for cash. I worked with Movable for a move about three months ago and took a risk that it was just a great deal rather than sacrificing quality for money. I was wrong. My experience was horrific and included: 1. Late arrival - the movers arrived 45 minutes late. They texted me ~15 minutes before they were supposed to arrive asking me if it was okay if they arrived late. "No, we need to finish the move by a certain time, I would appreciate it if you showed up at the agreed time." They responded traffic was bad and they couldn't, so they showed up 45 minutes late. 2. Very poor communication - I again reiterated that we needed to move in to our new place by 4pm due to condo rules when they arrived. I asked if there was anything we can do to help if needed. They said 4pm wouldn't be a problem. They were wrong and moving until 5pm and got us in trouble with our new condo building on the first day. Not only this, they were sliding down the driveway riding the dolly like a toy at one point rather than hustling to move us by the necessary time. 3. Damaged items - holy cow. I cannot find an item of ours that was not damaged. They damaged the hallway in both buildings, a couch, dressers, bar stools, etc. Literally almost every large piece of furniture now has significant, visible damage. I cannot warn you enough against hiring Movable for your next move. Even if you have to pay slightly more for someone else, it's well worth your money to do so. read more

We moved our belongings from a 3000 square feet home to another location about 15 minutes away. These three men worked SO hard - nonstop, efficient, professional and careful. They even moved a piano to our neighbor's house for $180, which was the heaviest item. Highly recommend this company for your next move. This was our first time using a moving company and we were very pleased with the decision to do so. The company was very responsive on yelp when we inquired about a quote. Two movers met us on move day and got started right away, they had a large moving truck and professional equipment to speed things up. They took great care with all of our items by using padded blankets and shrink wrap. The move took just about 3 hours since we had things petty well packed and ready to go beforehand. We were moving from a one bedroom apartment to a small house. We didn't have a lot of boxes, less than 20, and we had typical furniture - love seat, bed, desk, dresser, etc. The estimate given was 3 hours and total $480. One hour into the move it looked like they'd finish by their target and that is when the slowdown happened. With just a few pieces left it took another hour to get them into the truck. Unloading took just as long. They didn't bother putting the boxes into their respective rooms because "it's Saturday". I'm not sure what that has to do with anything - it's not a real move or job if it's on a Saturday? They didn't fully wrap the bedframe in plastic and had its side completely bare and on the ground outside. They broke the pins in my expensive set of weights, powerblocks, rendering them useless. Our living room is full of boxes and we can't find anything as it's a jumbled mess. Total: $710 including 3% fee. A far cry from the $480 and the final quality left something to be desired. read more

I have been moving a lot. It is hard to find a good mover company who gave me reasonable price and efficient their work. My Yelp's friend referred me to Movable LLC. We had miscommunication at first but Paul fixed the issue. They sent me 2 skinny guys and I was amazed how strong they were. I am impressed their employees' work ethic. Ramaz and Alex were working hard and no messing around. They focused and moved my stuffs carefully as I instructed them. My boyfriend really like their work. They speak limited English but we got through our communication. I like Ramaz. He was great. I will hire him any time for moving. Alex, I am not sure that he was quiet or little moody. May be both. Over all, I think they did GREAT JOB. I gave them tips to appreciate their work. I will be moving again next summer. There will be lot of stuffs to move. Since we were moving out of our apartment this year we thought of contacting the same movers we had such a good experience with previously , the movable, but sad to say we were highly disappointed this time. First of all we were moving from 1 bed to 2 bed and we had a lot of things, which we mentioned to them before but they seemed to have issues making multiple trips up and down cause our previous residence was on 10th floor but they saved so much time cause our new apartment is on ground floor. They did not call us before hand informing us about the time they will reach , we had to do that as well. They had a moving slot before us and they came in already exhausted and were just not fast enough. They took 1 hour to dismantle our bed which is so easy and then an hour fixing it back again and they were charging us by the hour. Overall they could have just sent more competent people . Alex and another guy did a great job moving my furniture to my new house. They are professional and efficient. I have carpet all over the house so I asked them to wear shoe covers, and even it is quite inconvenient for them to move they still did. One small problem is that they do not have tools to protect small fragile things so if you have small valuable fragile stuffs do remember to let them prepare in advance. read more

Booked them to help my aging parents move. Upon arrival, Chris and Julian knew exactly what to do. They shrink wrapped some furniture pieces and the mattress for protection. They knew exactly how to load up and unload all the boxes and items carefully. Professional movers that know how to do their job and friendly too! Kevin and Mike did an incredible job getting our things from point A to B. We knocked out our move in 2.5 hours. Friendly guys, worked efficiently and without needing direction. 5 stars is for the movers themselves. The scheduling was a little more hectic as I originally had a 4pm move time. I got a call asking if I could do 2pm or 7pm that same day (with me getting the call at 1:30pm, 30 minutes before the 2pm move). It worked out, and I understand that some moves can end up taking longer than others, but still an annoyance having to change my schedule on the fly for it. I hired these guys to do our recent in-town move because they had positive reviews and were the cheapest of anyone that I got bids from. My husband was a little nervous because they only had two reviews and was somewhat convinced they'd probably gotten their mothers or girlfriends to write them since both reviews were so good. Then I watched them get out of the truck at my house and started worrying because they looked so young. But our fears were unjustified and they were great. I received prompt responses to my request for a bid as well as all of my follow-up emails. They showed up right on time and got right to work. Despite the fact that they appeared so young, all three were very professional and seemed to know what they were doing. They were very careful with all of our belongings, even navigating tight corners and steps without damaging anything. Our new condo has only a single elevator that we were unable to lock open, but they seemed to get a pretty good system going such that they were efficient in spite of this limitation. There were two slight hiccups with the move. First, they were supposed to bring a king size mattress bag, but only had a queen in the truck. They were creative and split the bag they had, protecting as much of our mattress as possible. It arrived at our condo without so much as a smudge of dirt on it, so all in all, not a big deal. The other issue was that it turned out our sectional couch was too big to fit in the elevator or up the stairs to the new condo, which is a major bummer but totally not their fault. They did their best to try to get it to fit and tried all of my husband's suggestions without complaint (probably even past the time when they could all tell it wasn't going to go). Kevin and Eugene did a fantastic job moving us this weekend!! They called us about 30mins prior to arriving and showed up right on time. All of our furniture was taken apart, wrapped/padded, and assembled in our new apartment. I was quoted between 4-5 hours for a one bedroom move and these guys were done in just under 3 hours. Paul was very responsive over email and helped coordinate getting some of our unwanted items to the dump after. The only bummer was the credit card terminal was left in another truck so I had to pay in cash...but it turned out to be worth it with a 5% cash discount. Movable was extremely professional and efficient in every aspect from initially booking our move to ensuring the last items were brought upstairs. I hired these guys about a month ago to move all of my belongings into a condo on Capitol Hill. I had never hired professional movers before, but now I'll never do it any other way. They arrived right on time, were very quick and efficient, and their rate was affordable. The most impressive thing, though, was how they dealt with my monstrosity of a couch. After hauling it up to the 2nd floor (the floor my condo is on) they patiently tried every possible approach to maneuver the large, insanely heavy beast through the narrow hallways of my building. It eventually became evident, though, that there was no physical way to get it through to my unit. I thought I was screwed, and would have to have them drop off my expensive couch at Goodwill or something, because there was no way it was getting in my condo and I had nowhere else I could put it. We all just stood in the hallway for a moment, feeling dejected and unsure of what to do next. But then one of them ran back into my condo and then came back out to the hall with a crazy look in his eyes. They brought the couch back down to the street, took it partway up a fire escape, then carefully hoisted the couch on TOP of their giant moving truck-- on TOP, as in on the ROOF-- then slowly, carefully drove the truck around to the area below my balcony, then did some parkour moves up to the top of the truck, lifted the couch over the balcony, removed the porch door from its frame (which was difficult because of paint caked over the hinges) then finally, miraculously, brought the couch inside. I don't imagine there are many other movers who would have gone to such great lengths to get the job done. I'll definitely hire them again if I move again and, god forbid, have to get that couch out of my condo somehow. read more

I used this company's service twice in a month. Both times, the movers showed up on time, well prepared. The second time I used their service, it was a shorter move. They quoted me 5 hours but the moved took 3 hours. The other 2 hours, they worked on building my new furniture from scratch which I appreciated. The condo i was renting was being sold, and I had 30 days to find a new place...it took me over 3 weeks to find a new place. Then had to try to find movers available on the following Saturday! (I called on Monday!) A co-worker HIGHLY reccomended this company. Not only were they available first thing Saturday morning, but they were almost half the price of the other movers (most of whom weren't even available). Omg. Kevin and Eugene were AMAZING! We moved on the 13th of August (which if you remember, was over 90 degrees!)...stairs at the move out place and move in place...they were ROCK STARS! Took just over 4 hours, took our beds apart and put them back together, and even helped my new landlord move a heavy armoire upstairs. I called and scheduled a week ago, had to wait a full week to get someone out here - move is now 3 weeks away. When no one showed at 9 am this morning I called the office. Being pregnant and moving to a new place is a big hassle, these guys made it smooth, easy and notable as much as possible.
