Don't recommend. I have spent so much money on this salon and they couldn't refund $70 for a poorly done hair cut. The stylist and management don't care. They don't want minority clients at this salon. REPLY: I spoke with you this morning very nicely hoping you would value me as a customer and you did not and also said you do not care about a bad google review. You offered the gift card for products, but I told you that I don't use your salon's brands. I have purchased several products in the past from your salon and I never repeat purchase. I told you I have not been satisfied with the coloring either and that when I went back for a toning with random stylist, they asked "where did you get your highlights?" In a concerned tone. I have started going in 2018-2019 and had a great experience. Then went back in 2021 until now when I had another stylist and didn't have a good experience. In 2021 I called after one of my coloring session not happy because my hair was orange and your staff said they couldn't do anything because it was past 7 days. I let it go kept my next appointment for the stylist to fix it, but it was not fixed. So I kindly asked the stylist to darken my highlights and have been going to Tony & Guy to get my hair toned since December 2021 and Tony & Guy are amazing. I have ALWAYS been nice and polite to your staff. I could understand if you did not value me if I were disrespecting and acting out of character. But that never happened. I have been polite and only requested my refund for poorly done haircut. It was not too short. The layers are super choppy. I had a person ask me if I cut my own hair. Thank you for letting me know the percentage of minorities in your salon. In my personal opinion every time I went to an appointment, I did not see other Latinas. Other salons that I go, I'm a minority as well, but they treat me so much better than your salon. How much money do I need to spend to be a valued customer? Super clean, upscale , efficiently ran salon right beside CVS pharmacy off Hall Johnson. I've lived here for 2 yrs and was not aware of the location. It's not well marked and easy to miss. Many people think it's a doctors office. The design of the building would leave one to believe it was a medical office... but ITS NOT! I had an appt with Laura who took great care of me! When I arrived for a hair cut, I was checked in promptly and escorted back to the salon area. It is a shared opened space, but plenty of elbow room between customers and stylists. Laura listened intently and delivered a perfect cut. I plan to return and try other services as well. Wish I had known about this location sooner. read more

This has to be my favorite salon in DFW. Each Stylist is very well trained. They also complete yearly continued education classes to stay on point with current hair trends. I have been going to Shea for five years and she never disappoints with my color or haircut. Everyone is extremely friendly and professional. I have been going to Mouton's for over 20 years, and have always had awesome experiences. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and when I started losing my hair after starting chemo, I had my hair (what I had left) cut really short - they didn't charge me. They have been wonderful, caring and sensitive to what I am going through - both the hairdressers I see and the desk staff. I recently took in a wig and had the bangs trimmed. All the hairdressers that I go to have been wonderful over the years, and currently I go to Laura and Helena. I would highly recommend Mouton's to everyone! read more

I never hesitated to go back to my favorite salon because during Covid-19 they constantly kept in communication with us. They allowed us to buy hair kits to keep our roots from going grey! And they shared their new Covid-19 policies for keeping us safe. So when the time came to open their doors, I knew I would not be afraid to see my stylist. They all wear masks, the stations are 6 feet apart and they use new gloves for each client. They are a first class operation! read more

Prepare to be pampered! I give Mouton's a 5+ star rating! I have been going there five years now. I have consistently received excellent service from both my hairstylist (Shae) as well as the front desk staff. The salon is always bright and inviting, super clean and well-staffed. Stylists are up on the most recent techniques, styles, and salon products to help you look your best. The online appointment system is super easy and you can sign up for a text message reminders for your appointments. With as many clients as Moutons has, the front desk staff always recognizes you when you walk in even though it might be six or seven weeks between appointments. Though this is an upscale salon, the warm environment makes you feel like you are family! I won't go anywhere else! read more

That was the best experience that I have had in a salon in a very long time. I communicated what I wanted and Victoria nailed it. Most stylists I have had experience with won't ask many questions in regards to how I like the cut and perhaps it is my introverted fault for not speaking up, but as we were finishing up with my cut she asked me if I wanted more taken off. That speaks leaps and bounds for me as it gives me an opportunity to actually speak up and for us to work together towards what I envisioned. I have not loved my hair this much in a long time. The highlight of my week is my hair appointment at Mouton's. I've enjoyed going to this salon for 20+ years and wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. Owners/management set the standard, awesome employees are well selected and trained. Ongoing training is part of their philosophy ( it shows) and their products are the best available. Like a previous reviewer, I gave Mouton's numerous tries to be a good place to go for a decent haircut. But each time I leave I'm disappointed. The first few times I went I had a stylist who had the personality of a cardboard box and always had a look on her face like she'd rather be anywhere but there. The last time I went to her she cut my hair uneven. And it was noticeable; one side was a good inch longer than the other side. Last week I gave them another go. I was told my previous stylist was no longer with them and I was really okay with that. They gave me a new girl who had a wonderful personality. We had a ton in common. I asked her to cut my long hair into a V shape in the back and to blend my side bangs into the rest of my layers as they are growing out. She asked me if I was attached to my length and I said yes. She assured me that she would only be taking an inch off in the back. Once she's done drying and styling I realize that I now have a long bob. She assured me she's only be taking an inch off but there's a good 4-5 inches of my hair that's now gone. I got home and cried. I want to cry every morning when I look at myself in the mirror and realize all over again that my long hair is gone. I'm not happy Mouton's. Not happy at all. And I will not be back. read more

Ok... I have given this place several opportunities... more than a normal person would. I had a decent stylist that I went to for a few months then she quit. So I tried another lady...should I say girl. I can't even describe the color I came out with! It was horrible. So... as I called the next day to let someone know I hear she quit too. OK, so they booked me with another who, I will say, did her best to fix my hair and it was eh .... and she quit shortly after that. WHEW! ok... lots of turn over in staff. Then, I went to a new lady and her color seemed pretty good. Then it was time for her to CUT my hair. First time I asked for long layers and the layers were all wrong and some very short at the crown and I could swear one side of my head was longer than the other!....So I addressed this with her....and we let it grow out. Went in to her again a few weeks ago and asked again for long layers...I didn't get layers this trip at all... I got basically a long bob that was also cut crooked! I felt the unevenness (sometimes wondering if it was in my head even tho one side when pulled in front of the face WAS longer than the other) until I finally broke down and called a new stylist and had it fixed last night. What was his first comment the new stylist said when looking at my hair? "it looks as if you have a lot of unevenness on your cut" NO KIDDING. I just can't go back to Mouton's. read more

I read so many good reviews for this place so I figure I give it a try. Both my sister and I went and we had 2 different stylists and both walked out not happy. I told them in advance that what I wanted is not your norm & that I needed someone really creative. I even show my stylist a picture of what I wanted. The color was great but wasn't what I wanted. The bangs definitely not what I wanted. So I paid 230 for something that I could have got done @ style America. Now my sister, she wanted the Bob hair style with the front long and the back short. The girl refused to cut it that way. Her hair ended up looking like Dora the Explorer. My sister also wanted the front to have a light brown pane but instead, the girl does dark brown highlights with very little color. My sister ended up paying 170. read more

Kaylee and Carissa are great with all types of hair, they are amazing at what they do and have great suggestions. A hidden gem in the DFW burbs :) After moving to Texas from the Midwest, I had THE hardest time finding a stylist that could do foils the way I expected. (something about Texas...they just cant figure it out.) That was not the case with Becca at Moutons! She was great, super friendly, has had lots of training, and is happy to walk you through what her plan is. When I saw her I was doing full highlights, one of which was bleach, and it never pulled yellow (an issue I had at other DFW salons) I love that they use Wella, and they have a technique where they use a board to place the foils so it's right down to your scalp (again, an issue i had at other DFW salons), and the salon is so clean and bright! Becca mentioned that the owner is really great about keeping their stylists up to date with new training--everyone is very experienced! If I still lived in Dallas I would advocate for her more, so hopefully this review helps other girls in my shoes get back their gorgeous blond hair! Definitely worth the drive from DT/Uptown Dallas. read more

I take my whole family here and have always been pleased with the service and cleanliness. As someone who has definitely cried over a haircut before, i am extremely picky about where i go. In 7 years of haircuts, there has only been one I didn't like, and my stylist was more than happy to fix it.
