I'm sharing my inspiration photos alongside the actual results I left this salon with, because the difference is unbelievable. I booked a full highlight and arrived at 11:45 for a 12:15 appointment. I sat in the stylist's chair and we spent a solid 20 minutes going over my hair, my expectations, and multiple inspiration photos. I was told the look I wanted was completely achievable. However, the results were uneven, patchy, and visibly over‑processed, with harsh light bands and inconsistent placement clearly visible at the top and sides of my hair. This is not a subtle issue. . . it's a full highlight that looks nothing like what was discussed or shown in my inspiration photos. During the appointment, I voiced concerns about needing more foils, a root smudge or shadow, and some actual color, because I didn't believe using only bleach and toner was appropriate, but I was reassured that everything was on track. When the stylist finished, even she acknowledged the visible striping and said she "needed more time" and "should have done more foils," blaming the front desk for not booking enough time to complete the service properly. That is not the client's responsibility. I requested a refund due to the clear quality issues and the stylist's own admission that the work wasn't done correctly, but the salon refused. I'm now having to pay another professional to correct the uneven, over‑processed areas. It's honestly shocking that a salon would treat clients this way instead of standing behind their work. Save yourself the stress. Stay away from this salon. I'm sharing my experience so others know what happened and what the response was when I asked for a fair resolution. Had to call and cancel because spouse was in hospital. Fine w paying cancellation fee. When I called to make another appointment, the person answering phone saying, "Let me be honest, I have a note that you were a no show." Let me be honest, I called because husband was in hospital. Mouton person said all she could go on. Well, I've been a good customer for several years. After having my honesty questioned, will be going elsewhere. I lost my hair to chemo and after chemo my hair grew out of control ( in my opinion). I went for an initial consult and the stylist gave suggestions on cuts and shaping. Ruthie has been a great stylist and cut and trimmed my hair the way I prefer. read more

The shop owner there is horrible if you break your leg or foot and cancel the appointment they will charge you. Yeah they'll charge you for a canceled appointment when you literally can't get down the stairs and canceled it. I do not recommend this place and I won't be going back there again read more

I've been going here for over 10 years. It's always been wonderful, something changed in the middle with the color but it's back again. My hair always looks stunning, soft and healthy. Sherry is amazing. The prices keep raising which is making it a little hard. It's pricey but sometimes you get what you pay for. Staff are always nice. I get cut, partial color and highlights and it runs about $300. I have super short hair. read more

I have been a customer at Mouton's Salon for over 20 years! Teresa and her husband Bruce, who own and operate the salon, are wonderful people. Their positivity radiates throughout the beautiful salon and is reflected by all the fantastic staff who work there. The salon is welcoming from the minute you drive into the parking lot and see the beautiful landscaping and colorful flowers. The interior of the salon is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. I can't praise the Reception Desk staff enough! They welcome you by name and always have big smiles on their faces. And, should you have a scheduling problem, no worries. Cara is a master at finding hidden slots to accommodate your calendar. Teresa has cut, permed, colored and styled my hair for over 20 years now. She always makes sure we are on the same page about my hair before she does anything to it. She is patient, kind, knowledgeable about all things hair, and a master at what she does. I'm always impressed with the professionalism of every Mouton staff member. The front desk staff is efficient with quickly checking in, making future appointments and accepting payments. I've used 3 of the stylists and have been happy with each one. I'm always asked what I liked or disliked about each haircut in order to make any necessary changes. They are a talented group of stylists. A nice service that they offer is a free bangs trim if you need it in between cuts. read more

Sherri is my favorite!! It was my first Balayage! Asian hair can be tricky being a black hair color and going lighter where you don't want the orangie color. I had years of henna dying at home to cover my whites. Mouton's did a test on my hair to make sure there would be no chemical reaction to coloring, and there weren't any bad side effects! Bekah has great skills. She was strong in her approach and gave me a really good short haircut. I was new to the salon and was very pleased with both my haircut and color. Bekah was professional, courteous and I could tell she had been well trained by the salon. She was focused and knew the right questions to ask me and took the time to listen to what I said. Just wow! First off, I've been doing my own cut and color for over a year. I decided on a random Friday during my lunch break I was going to get a professional cut, sadly I colored my own hair that prior Thursday-I should've also went to Moutons for that!! A sweet receptionist was able to get me in the following Saturday morning at 8am- who knew salons opened that early?? I live a mile away and found this place searching Yelp, and I am SO happy to have found this place! Props to my stylist Amy W. for her radiant energy and skill set. I'm forever sold. Highly recommend this place. Oh and the site itself- extremely large, open concept and very spacious and beautiful. Jessica has left. Couldn't get in with my preferred stylist. Was told that the other stylist was more expensive since she is more experienced. My layers were chopped waaay too short (I look like a mushroom with short layers). My appointment was for balayage but that's not what I got. I asked for dark red chunks in my hair and I got yellow mini streaks. I voiced my concerns during the process but was assured that it was going to look like I wanted. I called later to get it corrected and never got a response back. Proof that experience doesn't necessarily mean talent. Will not be going back. read more

Don't recommend. I have spent so much money on this salon and they couldn't refund $70 for a poorly done hair cut. The stylist and management don't care. They don't want minority clients at this salon. REPLY: I spoke with you this morning very nicely hoping you would value me as a customer and you did not and also said you do not care about a bad google review. You offered the gift card for products, but I told you that I don't use your salon's brands. I have purchased several products in the past from your salon and I never repeat purchase. I told you I have not been satisfied with the coloring either and that when I went back for a toning with random stylist, they asked "where did you get your highlights?" In a concerned tone. I have started going in 2018-2019 and had a great experience. Then went back in 2021 until now when I had another stylist and didn't have a good experience. In 2021 I called after one of my coloring session not happy because my hair was orange and your staff said they couldn't do anything because it was past 7 days. I let it go kept my next appointment for the stylist to fix it, but it was not fixed. So I kindly asked the stylist to darken my highlights and have been going to Tony & Guy to get my hair toned since December 2021 and Tony & Guy are amazing. I have ALWAYS been nice and polite to your staff. I could understand if you did not value me if I were disrespecting and acting out of character. But that never happened. I have been polite and only requested my refund for poorly done haircut. It was not too short. The layers are super choppy. I had a person ask me if I cut my own hair. Thank you for letting me know the percentage of minorities in your salon. In my personal opinion every time I went to an appointment, I did not see other Latinas. Other salons that I go, I'm a minority as well, but they treat me so much better than your salon. How much money do I need to spend to be a valued customer? This has to be my favorite salon in DFW. Each Stylist is very well trained. They also complete yearly continued education classes to stay on point with current hair trends. I have been going to Shea for five years and she never disappoints with my color or haircut. Everyone is extremely friendly and professional.
