I have been going to Ryan Wayne for over a year now and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to be in a positive and fun environment while receiving the best care for your hair. I did extensive research on top salons in the area and was hooked after reading their website. They have done color correction, various styles of hair extensions, top pieces, gray coverage, hair cut and style, blow outs, etc. No matter who does my hair there, I know I'm always in expert hands and every person has my hair's best interest in mind. The prices paid are in line with the quality of product and service received. This is a place interested in supporting your hair goals for both short and long term. I can say I've always left there feeling fabulous. I love getting my nails done while also getting my hair done. Less appointments and maximizing use of my time is a great thing in my world. I booked an appointment here after moving to the area & some friends had given me a very generous gift card for several hundred dollars. It had been a while, so my hair needed a lot of help, apparently. After sitting in the chair they presented me with an estimate for what I thought was a haircut, style & and color, the cost was so high that my gift card covered less than half the cost! But I thought at these prices, I will walk out of here looking like a movie star. So, ok it's fine once. I showed them a couple of pictures of brunettes with highlights/balayage and explained what I liked and did not like about each. I straighten my hair sometimes so I was very clear I didn't want it to look stripe-y. I trusted they would do a beautiful job and exceed my expectations. Unfortunately, the highlights were excessive. I walked out looking more like a blond with brown undertones than a dark brunette with some sun- kissed lights. They didn't even show me toner hair samples to have options for the color of toner I wanted. They also trimmed my hair, but did not give me the layers and style I had shown them. (I later found out that my estimate did not include a new hairstyle.) To their credit, I was not happy and I was able to come back a few days later to tone down the highlights and get a bit more of a cut style (at least some layers around my face). They did not charge me anything this time. But honestly the extent of the highlights damaged my hair and made it very straw-like and dry for a very long time. I hate to leave a less than glowing review for people because this is their business, however, I think a warning to the unknowing customer is merited here. To sum up.... The Good: The salon peeps are very friendly! It also has a really cute boutique shop. I think that if you are a brunette and want to be a blond this is the place to go! I rarely write reviews. This place is a scam. I wanted to make a consultation appointment and the woman on the phone rushed me through filling out the 'required' forms in order to make the appointment and literally the next morning which was 5 days before my actual consultation appointment, decided the salon wasn't right for me and they would not refund me, only offered a credit to a salon I didn't want to go to. After commenting to someone I know in the salon world about my scheduled consultation, I was told it's common knowledge that this place rips off customers and over charges them and I just decided I didn't want to book with them. I even disputed it over my credit card and they fought back and took my money. SCAMMERS! The right thing to do would have been to give me my money back. Don't fill out the required forms to make an appointment unless you are SURE you want to spend a ton of money with these people. $350 down the drain. I will never walk into this salon ever again. Go somewhere else. No idea why my location says CO, I live in DFW. read more

This is a very late review but about 5 years ago I came here for light highlights. My hair was probably down to my butt and was super thick. I had been getting highlights before this mind you. The stylist painted my head with bleach and I mean PAINTED. My hair was so fried when they were done they had to cut it in a bob. My hair has still not grown back to the way it was and I will FOREVER hold a grudge on this place. PLEASE DONT GO HERE!! I have never written a negative review before, but felt obligated on this occasion.First of all, I was charged well over $5000 for a volume hair piece and its maintenance over a 10 week period, after originally being quoted $1850 and $140 to remove and refresh it every 6 weeks. Frankly, I'm afraid to add up the total cost! Additionally, my appointments with one associate were handed off to junior associates on several occasions. I feel "used" and taken in by their song and dance act. During my last appointment I was shuffled off to someone who painted on hair color and bleach giving me the look of a skunk. Then, realizing their mistake, added highlights in a flourish subsequently charging me $300 for them. They kept the chair turned away from the mirror so that I couldn't see what was going on. I feel like this was done intentionally. I do not recommend this salon unless you have thousands of dollars to spare and don't mind being manipulated. I knew the owner would come for me the way he comes for everyone who is critical, so I changed the rating to the lowest possible. No where in that response did I see any sort of an apology. Maybe be more humble and inquire what could have been done better. It says a lot about this business and the "mean girl" mentality I've seen others comment on. A salon is a place where you should feel relaxed and have people and looks to aspire to. This place doesn't offer that experience. Now, about that down payment. When a client comes in to your salon, they are trusting you with something very valuable to them. Maybe you should reciprocate that trust , or better yet don't make your clients feel so awful when they leave and then you wouldn't have so many cancellations that you had to enact this type of policy that singles out your clients. I think your no call/no show rate speaks volumes. My record for positive feedback for businesses speaks for itself and says a lot about this rating. I'm not finished... I can appreciate high pressure sales. I love a good sales shark. It's inspiring, but you need to have integrity to back that up, and that you are lacking. Scamming people with products like that head piece for every customer whether they need it or not is wrong and you know it. Comment Response: Nathan was not my stylist. I scheduled a 4:45pm appt that I was told was a cancellation. I was not the last client in the salon. Not giving a service range prior to appt makes exceptionally higher prices awkward when first seen at the consultation. If my budget was of issue I wouldn't have stayed. Briana & I did not talk for up to 45mins but more like 15. There was not an appt scheduled for Saturday morning to be looked at. There was only 1 follow up call a week later asking for pictures, which I sent immediately. There were no other calls or emails. Hardly what I would call constant contact. There has never been a conversation regarding working anything out as there were only two conversations after my appt; Saturday and the phone call for pictures...until my review here. As I explained when I spoke to Briana today; I've never blamed anyone for this happening. There is no way to know why...the fact is that it happened. As Briana explained on the phone today; the salon anticipated that I would keep in touch. My bad. I would have anticipated this as customer service on behalf of the salon. My disappointment began days after the appt for the lack of concern or basic customer service. This is accomplishing nothing. The burns happened. The weeks that followed happened the way that they did. Lessons learned all the way around I guess. ---------- I never could have imagined what happened. I've thought a lot about writing this review and finally decided it's honest and that makes it the right thing to do. New customer for RWS and initially was excited. Anticipated a higher cost over what I've been paying but worth it to improve a couple of things I felt lacking. I asked for a ballpark estimate over the phone but was told it would need to be done in person. A thorough consultation happened at my first appt...highlights, color on my roots, conditioning treatment and cut. (Like I said, anticipated higher pricing than what I had been paying.) she returned with my quote and it was $480!! (Not kidding...awkward!). Supposedly maintenance would be $200ish. I'm there...suck it up and get it done...you'll love it). My appt took about 4 hours and I left close to closing. I couldn't contact them later that night when I starting having scalp tenderness. However, the next day when I realized I had multiple chemical burn spots I contacted them. My stylist said to come in the next morning and someone would take a look...she was working a wedding and wouldn't be available. I did go in and someone I hadn't seen before looked. Asked me a couple questions...no, nothing I've done recently has changed and never had this happen before. I was given a tub of calming conditioner and sent on my way. Then about a week later I received a call and was asked for pictures which I sent immediately and no response and there has been no communication since. Haven't heard from my actual stylist yet. I counted almost 15 burn circles that took over two weeks to completely heal!!! Three of which require medication applied daily! Long story short...? I paid $500 for a chemical burned scalp and EXTREMELY poor customer service...not to mention the lack of a basic concern for the condition of my head! No touching base to see how I'm doing, no offer to treat my scalp for me, no offer of a refund....nothing but a tub of calming cream. You will spend thousands.. yes, THOUSANDS on your mediocre services (some "stylists" don't even have their license.. probably something you should make sure your employees don't openly talk about..) just for them to pressure you to spend $300 on a shirt that looks like they got it for $70. Then they will talk poorly about you when you leave because you must be "so broke" because you tell them you can't purchase it right now. Well I've never been to a salon where I walked out paying over $200 more then I was originally told. A highlight (partial) was supposed to be $125. I was charged $85 to blow dry my hair and $60 for a conditioner treatments that costs $25-30 in other high end salons. Besides that they were trying to charge me $1500 for a hair piece and another I believe $500 for a weave piece that makes your hair look fuller. I said no a few times and felt pressured. I was shocked when I got to the register and my partial highlight was $350. I have no problem spending money on my hair but that's ridiculous. So when it was finish I had Dark roots blond hair. it looks as if I've let my hair growing out for months! so NOW it's WAY OVER PROCESSED. I live in Colleyville and I like to spend my money in Colleyville. The stylist allowed hair dye to get in my eye, was very painful. The color and cut was as if I went to Super Cuts. COST 355.00.... I found Ryan Wayne just by searching for salons in the area. Their Google reviews were great and are located only 10 minutes from my me, so I thought I give them a try. This was the first time in 10 years I was going to color my hair. My first experience wasn't great therefore I never did it again until earlier this month.
