The salon is a great size - plenty of longtime stylists, plus newer ones who take walk-ins daily. If you prefer a more senior stylist, just call ahead and book an appointment. One thing I love: the place is always hopping. I've never seen it slow. Constant energy and a full house tell me they've earned a loyal following. The whole team is warm and welcoming, especially Missy and Shayna at the front desk. Those two are scheduling wizards. Somehow Sheila juggles two or three clients at once, and it runs smoothly because the front desk nails the timing every time. I usually get haircuts, highlights, and conditioning treatments. They also do beautiful eyebrow work, and almost every visit I see someone getting extensions that look amazing. Prices are very reasonable - not the cheapest, but absolutely fair for the quality. The real reason I keep coming back? The experience. Sheila nails my services perfectly, visit after visit. Went a couple of weeks ago for a very last minute hair cut. I was shocked that they were actually able to get me in so quickly, within 45 minutes of the time I called to inquire. They were busy but had a clean and cozy atmosphere. I was serviced by Kallie who did an amazing job from start to finish. She was so nice. During my wash she told me about a toning treatment to help with my highlights, which I did and it refreshed my hair beautifully. When we got to the haircut part of it she was very meticulous and made sure to get it exactly right. Her service was wonderful. I was so happy with it a went back a couple days later for a blow out before an event I had. Again they were able to squeeze me into Kallie's schedule and the service again was amazing, my hair looked GREAT! I was worried about my curls falling out quickly but thanks to Kallie and products she used they ended up lasting two additional days! I'm not the kind of person who gets their hair cut very often. I'm a bit lazy when it comes to that sort of thing, and when I feel the urge for a change I want to get it done fast. That's why I cut my own bangs recently... thanks YouTube! However, there are some things you shouldn't do by yourself. Like, trying to make your hair white-blonde without absolutely killing it, re-layering your hair, or trying to make your hair look more naturally blonde after you've gone white-blonde without absolutely killing it. That's why I've started to see Lindsay at Cheveux! My sister and girlfriend had already been to her a few times and are both highlighted-hair-gals like myself, so when I saw their golden locks that didn't look too yellow or brassy or rootsy, I figured I'd give Lindsay a shot! And she rocks. First of all, Lindsay is honest about your hair without demolishing your dreams and vision. About six months ago, I wanted to have ultra-white hair like Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, duh. I've been to a stylist who once said, "No, that will look bad." I was all, "What!? First of all, it would look rad. Second of all, even if you thought it wouldn't look great, I'll pay you to give me super-platinum locks!" Lindsay, on the other hand, had a much more professional response to my request. She said something along the lines of, "We can achieve close to what you want without using bleach that will kill your hair. But your hairs are damaged, so maybe we should do a conditioning treatment too." I followed her advice, didn't feel like I was being scammed or told what to do, and I ended up with pretty damn blonde hair. Yay! Cheveux isn't cheap, so know that. If you're doing any kind of color I wouldn't expect to pay anything under $100, and a simple trim is still going to run you around $30. Everyone here that I've talked to is extremely polite and professional, and you're not going to pay as much as you will in most boutique salon. I think you pay a really fair price for great work, and my blonde color here has lasted much longer than when I've gone to other places. My hair is naturally a dirty blonde, but nowhere near as light as I've colored it... I'm probably a bit more comfortable with dark roots than many, but I've gone months and months between coloring without looking trashy. Yay! I definitely recommend this salon for anyone. I've seen women, children, and men of all ages in here, and it's a cozy little spot. They even have a small selection of jewelry, candles, boutique-y gifts, nail polish, and of course hair products for sale upfront. So fun. read more

I should've known better than to let a place without minorities work on my ethnic hair. But I asked, repeatedly, if they had any experience and felt comfortable working with my hair and was assured again and again that they "get all kinds of hair textures in here!" So I was shampooed with a fantastic minty product and the cutting commenced. I asked for layers that would help thin out my thick hair and got choppy angles. But because my hair was still damp, I couldn't tell that there were striations rather than layers. I did notice that she only used a comb and scissors but never brought out the razor comb that feathers my kind of hair into layers. The stylist was nice and the salon was cute, but 3 stars is generous since it cost me $30 for this embarrassment and another $14 to get it fixed elsewhere. read more

The hairstylist I had been going to in Frisco was great, but the drive to see her was getting to be a hassle since my hair has to be colored every 4-6 weeks. She had also started double booking me with other clients so my appointments were taking twice as long as they normally would. When I called her recently to make an appointment because my hair was well past due for a touch up, she said her next availability was in a month. I knew then it was time to find a new salon so I opened Yelp and it led me here. Right away I loved that it was close to home and had such great reviews. It is pricey yes, but only a little more so than what I was already paying in Frisco and the convenience of a shorter drive is worth it to me. They paired me with Cara who was friendly and to the point. I think she only consulted with me for maybe two minutes before knowing exactly what I wanted. She brought me a drink and quickly got to work. The entire staff are nice in fact and they offer lots of other services too like hair removal, facials, mani/pedis, and makeup application (which she told me starts at $25 depending on the person and what you are getting done). I think that's a great deal because any other time I have my makeup done it usually starts around $40-50. My total came to $75 before tip and that was for a root color touch up and a blow dry/style. You do have the option to save money and skip the dry and style if you'd like. I always get it done though because I love having pretty hair for a few days afterwards. Cara matched my color spot on and gave me the most gorgeous style I've ever had. I don't wash my hair everyday because it gets dry if I do, so I can even report that 3 days afterwards my hair still looked fabulous. I think it's safe to say that I've found my new salon. The stylists masterfully colored and cut her hair, and it was wonderful that they were able to accommodate us. Had an appointment at 12:30 on a Saturday with Sharon. Showed up at 12:32 on the dot and was filling out a first timer sheet at the counter when Sharon walked up telling the receptionist I wasn't there but the appointment after me was. I leaned over and told her I was there and ready but was looked at and promptly ignored. She then proceeded to walk up to the woman with the next appointment and take her to get started on her haircut. The man behind the desk then told me that even though the appointment behind me just moved into my slot that I couldn't get another appointment with anyone till 4:30 or 5 (which makes absolutely no sense). Luckily someone else happened to cancel on Amber, another stylist, and she was able to take me 15 minutes later. Amber took her time and did a great job on my hair. I've been here before and so has my mom, but recently our stylist left. So I make an appointment about a week in advance over the phone and ask for an appointment to get a trim and color the bottom of my hair (not roots), they confirmed that I had an appointment to get a color and cut which approximately was supposed to be 2 and a half hours. They never asked exactly what I needed done as far as color, but I wasn't getting highlights, just the bottom of my hair like I've done before so I assumed everything was fine. When I get there, I'm seen by DeDe who is polite and takes me over to my "consultation" in which she says we're doing my roots, which I again, definitely did not want to do and I showed her what I was looking for. She then says that she was only doing my hair for 15 minutes and didn't have time for that, and the "assistants" who were going to color my hair aren't certified. 1. I made an appointment to have a *certified* stylist to cut and color my hair 2. There are uncertified girls using chemicals on hair 3. My stylist was only going to be doing my hair for 15 minutes when I made an appointment for 2 and a half hours I was told to make an appointment for a couple days later, which I cancelled and will be seeing my previous stylist at her new salon. I had a milestone birthday to celebrate. I wanted an over the top fancy updo with flowers. I ordered floral hair picks from Cooper's Florist and took the floral pieces to the salon. A blonde lady who also is the nail tech did my hair and she did a spectacular job. Pics posted. The stylist took the time to talk with me about how I wanted it to look and was excited I had brought pictures from Pinterest to help her get a better idea of what I wanted it to look like. Another stylist even came over to see the pictures and offer some ideas of how to achieve an updo that would stay put for a night on the town. I have very thick hair and my stylist pinned it so that it never moved. Later I counted and she put 45 bobby pins in my updo. I would totally go here again. Having moved to TX this past January, I came to this salon after a previous stylist in FW messed up my hair. I brought photos with me of what I was aiming for and explained to Joe that I was looking to move back towards blonde and to get rid of the very dark hair surrounding my face. Joe ended up using a semi permanent dye which made most of my hair darker than I originally requested, with the exception of my ends which were blonder to begin with. I don't usually leave review posts, especially ones that knock someone's work. I figure maybe... They were just having a bad day. However, while I normally would have just moved onto what will be my 3rd salon in as many months, I was charged $150 (not including tip) for a single color, semi permanent hair dye on chin length hair. The cut I requested was a simple trim. All things considered: 1) my hair isn't even remotely the color I asked for, 2) the amount of time/work that was spent on my hair was under 2 hours, 3) it was a single color application) AND most important 4) while coloring my hair Joe told me he wouldn't put highlights in my hair bc those would be more expensive and this way my hair would cost "...like $60..." So he charged me $150 for a semipermanent, single color application???? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I was definitely taken for a ride here and not in a good way. I won't be returning & will suggest to others they should go spend their hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I don't get my hair cut often because it's long and wavy so I can get away with doing less to it. That being said I tend to go get a haircut 1-1.5 years. I do not have a hairdresser since I go so infrequently so when I call I tell them I have long, thick, wavy hair and they put me with someone who is good with my type of hair. When making the appointment, I asked for their best colorist and someone well acquainted with thinning hair and hair loss. I was scheduled with Shirley, co-owner of the salon along with her husband. Shirley has 30 or so years of experience in "doing it all" with hair. It's my good fortune to have gotten connected with her because she really is a "pro". She took the time to talk with me at length, un-rushed before she ever touched my hair. Through the course of our conversation, I began to feel I'd come to the right place, just where I needed to be. She understood what I was looking for, what was important to me and exactly how to got about it. I felt very reassured! The end result, both the haircut and style and color were fantastic! I couldn't possibly have asked for more. Just over a month later, my color looks as good as it did the day I walked out of the salon, so much shine gorgeous color! Shirley is a real pro!
