Pac-Man arcade game!
Krystal S.

This location is a breath of fresh air compared to the location that use to be open in Leander. First of all, this location is more open and well lit. The decorations are nicer and I really love that they have a Pac-Man arcade game...win! One of my biggest issues with the Leander location was the staff. This location was NOT like that. The server we had was very friendly, positive, helpful, and attentive. We didn't feel like we were a burden simply for showing up. I noticed a regular walk in and our server said "hello" to him by name. It says something to me for a place to have regulars that are known by name. It had been years since we have been to a Mouton's. I suggested it to my husband because I knew it was close to our chiropractor anyway. We got the chicken bacon biscuit each and oh my, my, my, my, my...our mouths were very, very happy with our choice. The egg was cooked to perfection for both of us too. They seem to actually know how to cook an over medium egg. Oh and the bacon isn't flimsy bacon tasting paper either, it is thick cut and delicious! Definitely one of my favorites! Such a treat to have once in a while.

A friend and I went for an early lunch at Mouton's. She'd been there before, but it was my first visit. The strip center restaurant has 2 rooms: a bright one in the bar area in the storefront on the right and a larger, darker space to the left. We chose a booth in the brighter area. The booths there can accommodate maybe 8 people. Our server was the same person who showed us in. She was bubbly and enthusiastic, and did a good job. She seemed to know the menu and was able to make recommendations. We chose a small portion of jambalaya, a full size etoufée, and an order of fries. Everything was perfectly cooked and seemed freshly made. The jambalaya was on the spicy side but very good. This is a place I could easily return to many times, as the menu has lots of tempting options. Nearby parking is pretty limited out front, but there are plenty of spaces in the lot at the far end of the building.

Surprised by some of the recent low star reviews! We stopped in on a Friday evening, not too crowded, service was good, food was too. Fried green tomatoes, a fav, covered in some creole crawfish sauce... delicious! We shared the catfish platter and shrimp poor boy. Tip of the cap to the poor boy, between the two entrees, the shrimp was the star. The fried catfish, while good, was breaded a little too much, fish inside mushy in places. The seasoned fries were great, I'd go back just for a plate of them. Good meal, all served piping hot, good time, solid 4-star experience! Recommend you try Mouton's!

We have been going to Morton's for 14+ years, since they have been open. We followed them from Leander to Cedar Park. Given them our business weekly. As the prices climbed, we still continued our business. Today we will end our dedication to Moutons. We paid $15.99 for a ham and cheese sandwich. It should have been a muffuletta. We paid $15.99 for a Ruben that had nothing but sauerkraut. When we called to question and complain, the person who answered was rude, and annoyed with our complaint / observation and hung up on me without any explanation. It's sad to see such a staple in our community treat their long-time patrons with such disrespect. The new owners have a long way to go. We will never be back.

Mouton's Cedar Park . Thank you so much for providing live music on the weekends. Check their schedule! December evenings are beautiful on the outdoor patio, and the propane heaters make it so cozy. The atmosphere tonight was festive and holiday-friendly, with everyone clearly enjoying themselves. The food was excellent, and the cocktails were perfectly on point with a holiday twist

Had the steak omelette and enjoyed it very much as it had lots of flavor. The server was attentive and checked on our table on a regular basis. There are plenty of space for various large parties and the location is easy to find.

I'm always looking for some good Cajun food, but I'm not sure this hit every mark. Here's the breakdown of our visit: Bar-like atmosphere. Service was very slow. Gator bites were HORRIBLE - almost all batter. What little meat existed was flattened and extremely chewy. The dipping sauce was delicious. Chicken fried steak was great. Catfish jambalaya was full of flavor. Garlic bread was stale and didn't have good flavor. Texas toast was pretty good. Overall we'd be willing to give it another go, but are not clamoring to find our way back.

Shrimp and grits.

Tonight, service was excellent. Food was yummy. But music selection was distracting and annoying.

This place has a real homey feel to it serving plenty options for carnivores and vegetarians. We ordered the shrimp and grits 3/5 and the French toast with a fried egg. 5/5 Shrimp and grits was okay once the hot sauce was added but by itself the grits were bland and shrimp seemed to be boiled which was weird and I didn't enjoy. I opted to bring it home and throw the shrimp in a skillet for a good seer. Wouldn't order again. The French toast was great , perfect texture and flavor, the bread they used worked really well. The table we were at had some jelly on it from the prior customer which was a tad disturbing , unclear if it was missed as it was hard to see with the Wooden table top or if the table just wasn't cleaned at all. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. I would come back if I'm the area.

This was my first experience here, and I had heard good things. First, the service wasn't great. Not many options for anyone avoiding wheat, and almost none for garlic and onion intolerances. I decided to just go for it, and ordered a favorite dish, the crawfish étouffée. It wasn't very good, definitely not worth the stomach ache I got for eating it. The spicing was rather bland, with the bitterness of green pepper dominating everything else.

We had a wonderful experience at Mouton's Bistro and Bar. We ordered the catfish, calamari, chicken fried steak, green beans, and fried taters--everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was warm and enjoyable, making it a great place to sit back and relax. The only downside was the timing of the food. My meal came about 10 minutes after my companion's, and since we came to eat together, that was a little disappointing. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I would definitely come back.

We love Cajun food and there aren't too many Cajun joints around. Once we found Mouton's, it has become our go to place for Cajun food. The beer is nice too.

Yes! The cedar park location is open.

Do you have Happy Hour? and if so can u share the Happy Hour info with me?

Yelp says there's a military discount. Does anyone know how much it is?

10%. Food is overpriced and definitely not Cajun or Creole.

What are your hours of operation? I went today Thursday during lunch time and the restaurant was closed.

Hi there. I’m so sorry! We actually had to close both locations today due to a presumed positive covid case. Hope to be back by Monday.

Is this location still planning to re-open?

Yes, May 4th for curbside for both locations.

I Know both locations are temporarily closed due to covid-19. but I am curious if anyone can tell me the current price - before tax are the Lunch Specials? I am thinking 8.99 but not sure?

The Lunch specials were $7.99 before taxes

The chorizo bowl absolutely stole the show!…read more I ordered the chorizo bowl, Nancy had the Bad Ass Breakfast, and we split an order of blueberry pancakes. I've had the Bad Ass Breakfast before, and it never disappoints. The bacon is phenomenal, easily one of the highlights of that plate. But the chorizo bowl was on another level. There was a lot going on in that dish--chorizo, spinach, onions, pickled jalapeños, pickled onions, an egg, and several other ingredients. On paper, it sounds like a lot of competing flavors, but somehow everything worked perfectly together. What impressed me most was the balance. You had the richness and savory flavor of the chorizo, the tanginess and acidity from the pickled vegetables, the freshness of the spinach, and the egg bringing everything together. Every bite had a little something different, but nothing overpowered anything else. It was one of those dishes where you could tell the ingredients were thoughtfully combined rather than just thrown together. As far as heat goes, I'd give it a 2 out of 5. Enough spice to give it some personality without overwhelming the flavor. The blueberry pancakes were good, but nothing particularly special. Just solid pancakes. Overall, I've enjoyed the Bad Ass Breakfast before, but that chorizo bowl is what will bring me back. It's not often a breakfast dish with that many ingredients manages to be so well-balanced. Whoever put that combination together knew exactly what they were doing!

He did a good job despite being occupied with several tables. Overall it was a very nice, cozy breakfast and brunch location.

While it was a bit of a far drive, it was well worth it to have breakfast at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers with these friends. I had no expectations of what to expect (first time diner), so I was starting from ground zero. First impression...this was a neighborhood café with down home cooking. The restaurant had a small town, country, and laid-back vibe...no pretense, just warm and welcoming. As I got out of my car, I could smell the wafts of something good happening in the kitchen. Our server was friendly and immediately offered us water. She gave us adequate time to place our orders and checked on us pretty frequently. She was attentive while also giving us the right amount of space. Why do this neighborhood café have a 4.8 rating? Hands the food! My friends ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Plate (including three over easy eggs, hash browns, and of course, Texas toast) and two breakfast tacos. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Did I die and go to food heaven? The waffles were firm on the exterior and soft and flavorful inside. So, so good! My friends were pleased their meals also. I'm kicking myself that I've missed out on the last 5 years! So obviously this is my first time in. I walked in, not knowing what to expect. A lady behind the bar made eye contact with me, greeted me & said sit wherever you want. A lot of tables were taken. There were a couple open, But I'm solo, so I sat up at the bar. Another lady came over and started chatting with me like we were old friends, which I love. God Bless Texas! She was telling me everything is good, you're not going to be disappointed. Burgers are fabulous. And so on. Once she said waffles, I was in! She wondered off cleaning and helping other patrons. I looked over the menu, saw chicken and waffles. I was sold! A young man came over and asked if I had a drink in mind. I said yes. Mexican Coke. Would you believe I've never had Mexican Coke before. It's true. This was my first, right here at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers. Memories being made. To be honest, I don't drink soda much at all. I also said I was ready with my food order too. Chicken and waffles. He said good choice, it's a big Texas shaped waffle (love it) with a big piece of fried chicken. He put my order in and gave me my Coke in a bottle. No fountain type drink. Felt like an 80's Coke commercial with a real glass bottle. Feeling fancy. Since I'm solo, I put my ear phones in and listened to my own music. A little Lenny Kravitz, American Women, if you're interested in what I was listening to. My plate came out, and Oh ! My ! Word !!! Chicken & waffle big as my plate. I nearly cried, gasped, unbelievable! Seriously, this was a solid breakfast, and now I'm really bummed I've missed out for 5 years! I joined the clean plate club even though I was completely stuffed. Chicken was tender, juicy, hot and fried perfectly. Light crispy, not greasy. So, so good. The waffle was light & fluffy, but once I smeared the butter on it and soaked it with syrup, I put the chicken back on top of the waffle and cut away at both. Solid breakfast. Completely epic. Enjoyed every bite. Was in my own little world with my music and good food and an amazing Mexican soda. The service, way top notch. I felt like family. The young man that took my order, Alvaro M, totally chill with me, we talked a little about ourselves. And that I never knew this was here even though I drive by on 620 for work. Truly, great service. As a solo diner, it's nice to have human contact. Even though I had my ear phones in 1 ear, so I could still hear and interact. Had the best service, food, interaction. Couldn't have asked for a better first impression. Can't wait to come back. Parking lot is pretty large. So you shouldn't have a problem finding a place. This seems like an off the beat residential neighborhood with a lot of RV parks, and boat launching area. Like I said, hidden gem!
