Their seafood is decent, especially the fried variety, though I've never considered frying to be a particularly high bar. The hush puppies, fries, fried shrimp, and fried catfish are all great. I visited for the first time this year during crawfish season and had high hopes, but left severely disappointed. The crawfish are steamed in a bag, which already limits how much flavor can develop. They then add what appears to be an ice cream scoop of seasoning, with herbs, garlic, onions, and whatever else, dropped into the corner of the bag. When I got my order, it was clear no one had shaken or distributed it. The seasoning sat in one clump on top of about four crawfish while the rest were completely bland, tasting like steamed broccoli with no flavor whatsoever. At $13 a pound, this is pretty unacceptable. I do my own crawfish boils and I'll admit I have high standards, but this felt like the bare minimum effort for a seafood restaurant. When I told our server the crawfish were tasteless and that all the seasoning was piled on one side, she just shrugged and said, "Yeah, I'm sorry." I really liked this place before this visit. not sure if I'll be back for the fried food, but I won't be ordering the crawfish again. read more

I'm not sure if my visit was a one off, but it wasn't that great. I ordered the fried catfish with fries . The catfish was REALLY WELL DONE, bordering on burned. The fries, too. Dry and way overcooked. Not like they were too busy because I was the only patron there. I also asked for lime with my beer and they couldn't even get that right. The limes were all dried out. This place absolutely has the best crawfish this side of town by far. I've been here twice, and both times I have not been disappointed. I usually grab a few lbs, garlic butter medium spicy. Food was really good and I'm a seafood snob from Nawlins so if it was bad I'd say so. We got the seafood platter and the 1/2 catfish & 1/2 shrimp platter. My boyfriend liked the boudin balls I did not. They needed more flavor. And were a little dry. He said his long island ice tea was the best he's had. I had a Pina Colada it was really good. The shrimp are a good size and fried well.  I could taste the sweetness of the shrimp! I wasn't fond of the breading, though. Removing it, however, did show well-cooked, tasty shrimp. However, the catfish was a disappointment. It was a generous serving and glistened with oil. But the texture of and taste to the breading on the thin filet also was not to my liking. My meals came with cole slaw that had a bite to it and seasoned fries that were delicious. Service here is good. My first server was a non seafood eater, but was able to direct me to the shrimp as a good seller. Another server gave me advice that steered me from the catfish poboy to the straight catfish.  I suggest popping in at lunch and trying a lunch special before going for a full meal. Doing this saved me with my catfish taste preference discovery. read more

Not the first time coming here, but it will definitely be the last! Came in for a birthday dinner for my step daughter and she ordered king crab and crawfish when it came to the table it was not hot like it had been sitting on the counter in the kitchen for a little while same with my snow crab and shrimp. I'm a huge fan of spicy food but tonight I asked for medium spice and it was way too spicy. Not too mention it took forever to get service they only had one server on a Friday evening around 5:30. Which is ridiculous considering how much they charge for food! You would think they could hire a few more people. My family and I are sad to say this is the last time coming in for anything. Avoid this place like the plague if you value your wallet and stomach. Horrible experience! read more

One of my favorite Cajun food places around. Being from southeast texas, i have missed Cajun food. This is a great addition to the area. Plenty of seating inside with a bar area. Service is great. Always seated quickly. The staff is always super friendly. Very attentive with making sure things are right and glasses are full. The gumbo is so good with the dark roux. The way it should be ;). I always like getting fried shrimp and hush puppies. Shrimp are good size and batter is tasty. The crab is worth it when they offer it. A bit pricey, but good. My my my! This crab shack restaurant is so delicious!!! I recommend snow crab legs with sausage, shrimp , potatoes plus corn on the cob. Garlic seasoning and spiciest flavor. Also have a wonderful mini margaritas flight just for variety. All the servers are so kind and helpful and genuinely good at their jobs. The overall look of the place is nautical and there's a wrap around bar in the center of the restaurant . Kids menu is also on point . Bathrooms clean. For $50 it wasn't much food and there was no seasoning or flavor ‍ I mean you can look at my pic vs the others posted and see the difference. The crab was the blandest and over cooked, the crawfish had slight flavor to it and the garlic butter tasted like unsalted butter with garlic power (no actual chunks of garlic) Maybe I caught them on a bad day, iono. We also got the hush puppies, they were very good, moist and flavorful but again, tiny! About the circumference of a quarter. Cajun fries were flavorful and perfectly cooked. I came in today and ordered three menu items to include two Poboys (one shrimp and one catfish) and a cup of gumbo. I brought Thing One with me as he was in need of lunch but I honestly feel like regardless of the hour, he is always hungry. Gumbo- I am seriously picky about my gumbo. It seemed like the roux for this gubmo was made with oil, which I don't like. I prefer when I am served roux with a butter or bacon grease base (and yes, I can tell the difference). Butter is usually the common choice for a roux (and is also the more common fat in most French roux), while oil is often preferred in Creole and Cajun cooking. I had a spoonful of the gumbo and left the rest for the flies. This gumbo was not for me but that shouldn't dissuade someone from trying it. 2.5/5 Shrimp Poboy- I ordered the shrimp poboy while Thing One had the catfish. The battered shrimp were okay but not spectacular. I was missing the flavor explosion that one has on the palate when you have fresh gulf shrimp. The shrimp for this Poboy was hidden underneath a thick coating. I would have preferred the traditional method of bathing the shrimp in buttermilk mixed with a dash of hot sauce. 2.5/5 Sorry ya'll, I had to call this how I saw it (or rather how I tasted it). read more

Excellent customer service. I didn't see exactly what I wanted and when I asked my server, he made it happen. He was consistent in checking on my dining companion and I throughout the meal without it being annoying. Shared parking lot with other businesses in the lot, but parking was not difficult to score within walking distance. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. Employees wore masks and were very hospitable. I was a bit surprised at my order of wings. They were not battered and fried as I thought they'd be but they were tasty. The breading on the catfish filet was different than what I'm used to but delicious nonetheless. They have the air conditioning on so if you're gawking at the tv or scrolling on your phone, your items will cool off quickly. I found the portions to be plentiful and filling. My drink didn't taste as though there was much alcohol in it but I enjoyed it. There is seating inside or outside depending on your preference and the weather. Social distancing was being practiced and the employees were responsive to the steady flow of customers who were dining in and getting to go orders. A military discount is offered with appropriate ID. I can recommend this eatery and would return if in the area. read more

Came to Abby's on a Monday night since our usual spot was closed. We ordered oysters for an appetizer and 4 lbs of crawfish. We also made it in time for happy hour and got $3 beers. The oysters were a good size and seemed fresh and crawfish was very flavorful and juicy. I was a little sad that they don't use or offer mushrooms in their crawfish (just a personal preference not a complaint). Their style of crawfish was also a tad too garlicky for me. The waitress was doing a great job basically taking care of the whole dining room herself. Overall a good experience and it will be my backup plan to my usual place. read more

The calamari was some of the worst ever made at any restaurant & should be removed from the menu. Our order of it was undercooked, soggy, & bordered on food poisoning.
