Nice location. Fairly recent remodel. It's not very expensive so the rooms fill up fast. I'd stay here again.

I cannot say enough about this motel! I had really high expectations before getting here and I was so impressed. Our hotel room view was crap, but we didn't stay in much, so it wasn't a deal breaker for us. The motel view itself is phenomenal. There is no iron in the room, which would have come in handy. The motel is in the perfect location to get to the town square and the southern part of Jackson, all within walking distance. The Start bus is only a couple of yards away which saved us from getting a rental car. The decor is adorable and the ambiance is so freaking cozy. The office staff was great. When we arrived, he gave us direction for where to go as what to do. His advice was just perfect! read more

The one star is for the design... nice surface treatment! Unfortunately, there is no depth behind the hip facade. It's pathetic when you need the refrigerator motor or the loud heating unit to block the non stop middle of the night noise of banging doors, people chatting outside, dumpster pickup, stomping upstairs neighbors. If you look to a motel in order to get sleep... definitely do not look here. Oh yeah...the lumpy bed and pillows also add to the sleep challenge. read more

This place recently did a renovation. And while I really appreciate the new overhaul, there are a few things that were a little less than pleasing. First, the good things: -nice-sized fridge in room and microwave -Keurig Coffee Machine -Real coffee cups -nice modern but fun design. (we loved the word search :) ) -good TV -comfy beds and good pillows. -GREAT toiletries The not-so-good: -The hotel decided that it was a good idea to have a deck right outside some rooms powerwashed on a Saturday morning at 8am. That was not a great waking. -The room had a view of a wall. They maybe could have had a cool mural painted on there at least! -There is a weird little message in the room talking about how their guests quiet is important to them, but then give no ideas on how to help with it (you can hear EVERYTHING going on in the adjacent rooms). Maybe offer ear plugs?? They should have sound proofed the rooms when they did the renovation. -The lobby is really cute, but not cozy or welcoming. I felt like they did not want anyone to be there after checking in or out. Overall, it was a nice stay, but I would not be going back. Jackson Hole is terribly expensive, but I would definitely shell out $50+ more a night for a nicer place. Sleep is precious!! This place takes that away from their guests. We had a one night stay at this motel. We got the two queen beds with two bunks. The room is indeed modern and spacious with nice decorations. Pillows and comforter are very comfortable. My 8 year old daughter was so excited when she opened the door. The only downside was the noise as the walls are not very sound proof even though it didn't bother us much. It has a mini fridge, personal coffee maker and big sink with plenty counter space. read more

This had to be one of the most unpleasant stays of our lives. The mattresses are worn out and so soft that both our backs hurt every morning. There were no actual chairs or drawers in the room so you are left to sit on the beds and live out of your suitcase. The third night we were there apparently our TV was up too high for the neighbors. It was necessary on turn it up to hear it over the air conditioner. Rather than call our room and ask us to turn it down, the front desk decided to knock on the door at 11 pm. Who is going to answer a knock at that time? We asked who it was and received the response "can you come out here and talk to me?" They never identified themself as the front desk. And the shower was just as much a disaster. The temp would constantly go from comfortable to cold to scalding hot without warning. Our recommendation, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. For what you have to pay you are getting ripped off. read more

I love Mountain Modern. I feel upon entering the parking lot to begin my stay. I do prefer the rooms with the Teton mural over the fisherman mural. This is personal preference. My dog also prefers the Teton mural. The beds are very comfortable, one may even say PERFECT. I also find their pillows to be just lovely. If stealing was wrong, I would take all of the pillows. Instead I have left them for you to enjoy as well. The layout of the room is very conducive to the weary traveler. There is ample storage space to help keep your room organized and feeling spacious. Everyone who works there is so kind. The included breakfast is tasty and available for consumption in the mornings. I recommend the waffle. It has crystallized sugars within the golden crusts. Yum. Coffee, leaves some things to be desired, but there is a kraig available in the room. It has a nice location. Walkable yo downtown. Many nice food options nearby. (Teton Tiger and Everest Momos are 10/10) Best of all, my dog is welcome and loves staying here for a fee. Another delight is that the pool and hot tub are a very nice feature that we can enjoy year round. They keep the pool very warm so even in the midst of winter you can take a nice dip. The rooms are romey with 2 queens and sink / kitchenette with microwave and keurig coffee maker. Modern look and not tired. Only downside in the room is the old style airco unit that is very noisy when it turns on. The location of the hotel is great. Right in center of town with many nice restaurants at walking distance. We enjoyed our stay. We did not have breakfast at the hotel given all the breakfast places in town. read more

We were able to use a great discount with our Mountain Collective pass. This hotel was awesome very spacious, clean and a great hotel for the outdoor folk. They had a great sink and soap to wash any dishes, microwave, fridge and an area to hang ski/snowboard gear. It was close enough to town to walk to and from dinner. Horrible. Stayed in a room on the first floor. Apparently, the floors of the rooms on the second floor are made from unusable plywood salvaged from shuttered Home Depot dumpsters. They would creak, crack and groan with every breath taken by 2nd floor guests. The walls and ceilings were so thin, I could hear the livers, of who I can only guess to be pledges of a college fraternity that is conducting its operations out of room 257 of this janky motel, rejecting the copious amounts of Boonsfarm or other 40oz malt liquor they were filling their gullets with, while they repeatedly YELLED popular Lil' Jon phrases from 2002 like "What?", "Yea", and "Ok"... I called the front desk to complain. I was told by the desk clerk that she was busy and would get around to it when she could. Also, breakfast has been canceled til further notice. The one positive, I know where not to stay in Jackson. read more

I booked the hotel based on beautiful pictures and some nice reviews. However, my experience became an awful one. Let me pin point the "highlights" about the real experience: 1. Don't deceive by the beautiful pictures on the website. When we opened the room, I was happy because the decor looks as nice as the picture shows. Then, I found the trash can wasn't even empty. Inside had some food previous customer threw. We didn't complained about it, I just simply tied it up and changed the trash can. Later it's the time to go to bed, I felt I wasn't sure if they really changed the bed sheets. When I brought my parents to the swimming pool, the water was cloudy blue with a lot of bobbles on the surface. Of course, we didn't use it. 2. They did provide the breakfast. However, when you checked in, they will not tell you automatically. You have to ask them. On the book sites, they'll not mark they provide any breakfast. If you ask, then you'll get it. In the morning, you have to walk to the counter and tell them which one you'd like to have. The sausage biscuit or bacon biscuit. It looks like a cafeteria counter, you need to pay in order to get your food which will turn away people who didn't know about it. The food was salty. 3. The high point is the very bad customer service. If there is no issue, you are lucky! If there is an issue happened, then you'll feel you are in the hell. Let me tell the true experience. My father put his wallet under the pillow the night. The second day we checked out from the motel, he forgot about it. Until afternoon we were in Yellowstone National park, he remembered it. We called the motel and was told to call back the second day morning since housekeepers left already. Then we called the second day. The lady answered us asked what happened, then we were put in hold for a few minutes. Then she told us that housekeeper didn't see any wallet in my room. I told her that we were 100% sure that wallet was under the pillow if the housekeeper was cleaning the bed, should be able to see it unless this person wasn't honest about it. The lady answered us rudely that "housekeeper told what it is. If the housekeeper said not see anything, that means you didn't lose your wallet here, you lost somewhere else. If you lost, then you lost!" Then she just simply hang up on me. Anyway, we didn't expect we would get our money back since it was money. However, it showed me how the staffs were handling any issues. In a word, I learned my lesson. Before when I booked hotels, I love to see the pictures and nice reviews and overlook the bad reviews since I only think that is only some situations. Now after this happened, I really go back to see the reviews. On book.com; TripAdvisor and so and so. I really read them and people complained about customer services, cleanliness and stolen jewelry. Now I know why. Sorry had to write this long, but hope this review could help. I will definitely not recommend this motel to anybody. Motel is nicely decorated, but room had terrible odor (dirty carpet or stinky feet odor). Unable to air out during the day. Pool and spa closed during our stay for some reason, disappointing as that is why we picked this place. Great outdoor area except if your room is right in front of it. Always clean, Always affordable and Always convenient when staying in Jackson. We love coming here a couple times a year to visit and enjoy the outdoor activities the area has to offer. If I could give this zero stars I would. First off house keepers will wake you up at 8am then start vacuuming the room up stairs with paper thin walls so good luck trying to sleep in. I have no clue how this place got decent reviews. We should have listened to the reviews about sleep. You can hear everything through the walls. When we checked in we could immediately hear a loud family with kids running and slamming above us. We requested to have our room changed and they wouldn't. Overall, it was an alright stay. I LOVED the large sink. I'm a big fan of modernized spaces, I love that they took an older motel and transformed it into something modern and comfortable. I am a huge fan of well thought out amenities. I particularly loved the Malin & Goetz shampoo and conditioner and body lotions and handwashes. Loved the overall layout of the room and the "gear racks" which is so much more practical than having a dresser. The coffee maker was filthy. There was a keurig pod in it and it was moldy, and looked as though it had been there a long time. The water wasn't very warm for most of my shower and towards the end of my shower, it was scalding hot, and there was a lot of noises during the night. Lots of running and screaming sounds, the walls are much thinner than I expected. There wasn't much rest. Also, the TV was on wifi and it kept cutting off repeatedly. I was also not made aware of a $40.00 a night deposit for my one dog until I got there. (So, be forewarned.) The dog deposit was much higher than the other deposits I am used to (typically they are $10-25, for all the other places we stayed on our 2 week trip, but maybe it's just me?) It was centrally located and walking distance to the main strip. I like that you can "rent" their Yeti coolers and other gear items for the day. Check in was kind of smooth but again, I was taken by surprise about the 40/night dog fee, but this is Jackson so I guess the surcharges and overcharges are par for the course. OVerall, it was an alright experience, but it was pricey and I expected maybe just a bit more. They also have a pool, but I didn't use it as we are cognizant of the COVID risks and there were lots of families utilizing the pool during our stay. It looked nice though. read more

I was really excited about staying at mountain modern motel. Jackson wy is expensive in the summer months for lodging. They had a hefty per night cost but seemed like it was the norm. I picked this motel cause it seemed updated. The design of the rooms is super cute and like the photos. I was pleasantly surprised and I was impressed with what they did with a motel. The house keeping was super pleasant and prompt with towels. However, that is where it ends. The first night I was kept awake by every noise and I usually I sleep through anything. The rooms are paper thin and I was on the bottom floor. They start house keeping very early so I heard vacuuming above the bunk bed. Literally every noise. Yet, I can get past that... At 5-6 am every morning a waste truck would come by and be loud.. still, ok. However then it would exude this amazingly awful sewage smell wafting through our room that would literally wake us up. It smelt like a rotting dead animal pooping. This was each of our 4 nights with windows closed. My last night was what really put me over the edge. we came in around ten and there was no parking what so ever. After doing 10 loops I got out and started looking at peoples dashes for the parking permit. That's how angry I was. I found 10 cars with no guest parking permits. I stopped looking after I counted 10. I called the front, which took 4 try's for a pick up, to tell them and reached "Tammy". Tammy was argumentative and unhelpful about my problem right from the start. She told me she couldn't make people put them on their car. Told me I could park in the Chinese restaurant parking lot. There were no spots there either. When I told her that she got more argumentative with me that there were instead of trying to actually help me. She could have checked on the illegally parked cars? When I suggested that she said she couldn't do anything. I spent over 1,000 and she couldn't do anything? I travel often. I camp, I 5 star, rv, bed and breakfast and motel it but I've never been so disappointed with the price I've paid to the service and small "issues" I've received. Although super cute and comfortable I wouldn't ever stay here again. Don't get me started on their (frozen) yogurt parfait in the morning.... or Tammy! read more

A bus was parked running outside our room within 15 feet for an hour starting at 615 AM. The location is good for downtown but other than that the place is terrible . We were so disappointed with this place. The front desk gal was so unfriendly. Our room was right by a construction project...apparently they are putting a fire pit right outside our door. The early morning power tools were not appreciated especially after the kids in the room above us kept us up and woke us up early with their jumping, running, and yelling. Had to call to get more towels and leave a message so no towels for hours. Had to go to the front desk for toilet paper and the gal gave me a hard time. SERIOUSLY???? We are a family of 6 and we'd been there for 3 days. Also not near enough parking so we had to street park. The updates on the rooms is a cool thought but unfortunately they placed new decor on top of musty items. The trim in the bathroom was falling off the wall, the tub had mold and the carpets were stained. I had picked this place because it was listed as recently renovated so all that shocked me. Hotel is pricey, but dog friendly and seamed very nice when booking online. That being said, this is one of the noisiest hotels I've EVER stayed in. The heater/ac unit kicked in every 15 minutes and made crazy loud squealing noises. The mini fridge compressor kicked on all night and was just as loud. And the walls in this place are paper thin. There's a fun chalkboard word search in every room and a little fun fact about the featured black and white photo that spans the wall. There's also a cute cafe with yummy food. Being from Victor, there are times when the pass closes and I am unable to get home. My choice for a great place to stay is the Mountain Modern. Not only do they have a perfect "stuck in Jackson" rate, but the staff is the most accommodating and knowledgable about the area. They also offer a free shuttle to and from the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and a free breakfast. They also have a beautiful pool/spa area, perfect for tired bones. Stayed here two nights, really disappointing. Room fell apart before our eyes. Bad flushing toilet, even after reporting it to the office. Shower temperature either burns you or freezes you, floppy knob, no adjusting to it. Spout on soap dispenser literally fell out (couldn't put it back in at all). One box of tissue cleverly set up with tissue propped out, but NO more tissue in the box and no extra in the room. Live cockroach in the bathroom. Lousy microwave. There are no drawers, dressers, enclosed closet to put away your belongings, just your stuff out in the open. Hear everything outside or next to the room. Enough said, try somewhere else! read more

The staff was SUPER helpful. But for over $300 a night, I expected better than the cheap scratchy thin toilet paper, only one small trash can in the room, and only one ice machine. And they should offer k-cups of hot chocolate, not just coffee. The air temperature controls are clunky and unreliable, and the towels are scratchy too. And we could hear EVERY move by our neighbors up top. There's no decent seating in the rooms unless you're young and spry -- the two stools are suitable Only for kids and good luck extricating yourself from the super-low leather sling chair. On the plus side, the beds are comfy and the location is good. Overall, though, not much value here for your dollar. read more
