The Alpine house is a perfect place to stay while in Jackson Hole. A small property with ample space in the rooms and a beautiful setting. Staying at the Alpine House is similar to staying in a personal log cabin with all the amenities which include a fireplace and balcony in most rooms. The beds were comfortable and clean, the water was hot and the wifi was fast. In addition, the property has a small fitness facility available with a few free weights and ready cooked hot breakfast every morning. A small perk is that there is water, coffee, tea, cider, etc. 24/7 in the lobby. There is also a small workspace with a couch and fireplace for those needing a break from their roommates. The staff are very friendly, helpful and are ready to offer help when needed. Check in and check out are very quick and efficient. They are well trained and have a good knowledge of the area, offering suggestions to eateries and other local attractions. One of the best features to this property is their proximity to the town. Only three short blocks, one can be in the town square by foot in minutes. Staying in Jackson Hole during one of the coldest months (February) can prove challenging while navigating through the snow/ice covered roads and having a proper hot shower. However, The Alpine House shielded us from these issues with the short stroll to town and the consistent hot water flow from the showers. With great service, beautiful rooms, a short walk to town and a reasonable rate, The Alpine House is the best option while visiting Jackson Hole, WY! read more

Disappointed Jackson, WY is undeniably beautiful, and the hotel's location near downtown was convenient. Unfortunately, those positives didn't outweigh the overall sense of disappointment we felt during our stay. We booked this hotel expecting a higher-end experience - even given Jackson's reputation as an expensive destination - based on the website's emphasis on charming grounds, well-appointed rooms, and a chef-prepared breakfast. What we found fell far short of those promises. The room we were given, while clean, felt dingy and dated. There were no microwaves, no mini fridge, and no elevator access to upper floors--an unwelcome surprise for older guests traveling in the summer. The "chef-prepared" breakfast turned out to be a sparse continental offering, with eggs, bacon, and pastries only available for purchase. Not what we expected, especially given the premium price we paid--more than double the room rates being advertised on the hotel's own site during the week of our stay. Add a broken ice machine and the general mismatch between expectation and reality, and we made the decision to check out a day early. This might be a cozier spot during ski season, but for our summer visit, it simply did not live up to the billing. read more

We had the best stay here. The people who work here genuinely care and want to help. Everything was sooooo clean, and stayed clean. Clean is a priority for this charming B&B. The best part of our stay is the breakfast specials which change daily. We were lucky enough to have breakfast sandwiches (homemade English muffins with a soft fried egg, avocados, and red onion) during our stay. We also had bread pudding French toast with blueberry compote and the crispiest thick cut bacon. The frittata with chicken sausage, tomatoes, taters, spinach, shallots, herbs and cheddar were also great. The fresh squeezed OJ is simply awesome. There are also warm homemade sweet treats in the afternoon. You can thank Ellie who is the amazing chef for all of the good eats. We look forward to our return trip here!!! read more

The original place we booked ourselves too overbooked their dates and we were transported here. Anvil house and Alpine house, as I was informed, were sister houses. We lucked out as I believe this place was a step-up. The location is not by the town area where it can get noisy by the weekend. The hubby disagrees with me on this house being special. I'm alright with it. Staff nice and accommodating. Elena very helpful. The servers and cook for the morning breakfast were quite obliging. A++ service. We were in a basement suite, king size bed. The bed was comfortable, pillows a bit overused but bearable. It has a double door opening to some sort of back patio, not really a place to hang out at, and small TV. The room is close to the sauna, which we willingly used. Very decent sauna room, good for 4 people. There's a room with a couple of gym machines and some weights, ice machine and community fridge available. The morning breakfast was very satisfying. Served from 7:30-9am. Coffee and tea as much as you want. There's a paper on each table, you fill in your order of hot meal, eggs, bacon, sausage toasts or whatever fancies you in their special menu. Drop it off by the kitchen counter. Fruits, oatmeal, cereal and granolas readily available too. Oj if requested. The place seems outdated but has its charm. It has a bnb atmosphere. The garden's lovely. It's a country home look. Would we come back here? May have to try the other places for change read more

Super adorable B&B in Jackson, WY. Stayed with our kids (loft space was fantastic!, although not for littles, required ladder climb). Great location, walkable to everything. Free bikes. Breakfast was good (at least the first morning, second morning had some hiccups and language barrier challenges). Room was very clean. Appreciated the sustainable details and yummy shower products. Loved the robes. My only down side is the mattresses were not comfortable (bouncy, springy). And with the queen/full it made for a rough night. read more

The good - the free breakfast is nice. Semi-convenient to downtown. Clean. Quiet at night. That's it. The BAD - for over $500 a night -- no air conditioning, no fridge in room, couldn't open the window for air because there was no screen. Well noted, but egregious cancel or change reservation policy that no reputable hotel would follow. Don't expect compassion or understanding if an emergency requires a change of plans, or even access to anyone who could make a decision. This month I've stayed at a Marriott and a Doubletree so I've experienced professional hotel behavior. Learned that my "special" rate for an event discount was $300 higher than I could have booked the day before. Skip this one. There are many nicer and closer to downtown places to be found. read more

We booked a night at the Alpine House Lodge after a canceled flight out of Jackson. The staff was super welcoming and accommodating to our last minute booking, and the hotel itself is perfect for a stay in Jackson. Comfortable, clean, and charming. The location is close to 191, so it's easy to get to and from the airport, and it's a short walk to the town square and plenty of great restaurants and shopping. The first thing to put into your mind when staying in Jackson is that it's going to be expensive, even at a motel. And unless you're bringing a camper, just accept it, and enjoy. That is something I struggled with but after researching my options, I decided spending a little more for something woodsy would be better. I'm glad I did. My husband and I spent his birthday at The Alpine House. It was over $200 for one night in a King but it was our first vacation and his birthday so I wanted to stay somewhere nice. I liked the 'green' approach they take. I'm not an avid recycler but I like to help when I can and this intrigued me. We arrived to the lodge very very late. Luckily, I called while we were still in Colorado and they said it would be no problem. One of the most amazing things they did and probably the reason why I really liked this place is when I called to let them know we'd arrive late, I had apparently made the reservation for the wrong date. In fact, it showed we had stayed a month earlier! Yikes. And you have to prepay weeks in advance to guarantee a room and there is not refund for cancellations so the room had already been paid for. I was distraught! We were ten hours away in Colorado, making our way there. Fortunately, they weren't all booked up and put us up for the night. I'm so glad I called that would have been a disaster! The employees do not cover the desk after 7 p.m., but they left the door unlocked and this sweet letter to welcome us, to explain a few things, to share the wi-fi password and let us know when breakfast was. There was even a list of ideas of things to do since Yellowstone and Grand Teton were closed (Government shutdown)! They thought of everything! It really felt like we were sneaking in to someone's amazing log home. It was very homey. When we showed up at night, there were homemade cookies waiting on the counter for guests and they also have a stocked bar. They just ask you to write down what you take and they add it to your bill. Very cool! I was very excited to see what would be for breakfast. The menu is a surprise and features one cooked item (like our delicious pancakes!!) and then a spread of gourmet meats, cheese, as well as yogurt and fruits, coffee, juice, granola. It was very delicious! I felt very uppity eating my fancy breakfast in a fancy breakfast room in a lodge surrounded by snowy mountains. This is a great place to stay and we will stay again! It's much cheaper to book it on other sites, like hotels.com, which I found out afterward. The lodge was delightful, so was the food, but I think what spoke leaps and bounds was the amazing customer service. Even as we left, we talked to the woman at the front desk about things we could do in and around the town while her dog lazily slept at our feet. It was a wonderful atmosphere! A little factoid: Both owners represented the United States in the Winter Olympics. Hans was a six year member of the U.S. Ski Team and competed in the Nordic Combined event at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary, Canada. He is an accomplished climber and ski mountaineer, with many first ascents and ski descents in the Tetons. Hans works as a guide for Exum Mountain Guides. Nancy was a six year member of the U.S. Biathlon Team and competed in the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France. read more

Great place to stay - and one I'll be back to! Suggestion: call to before you book or book on their website - (you can find it on many lodging sites). 5 Star: Fabulous customer service via Erica! Sean? was super nice as was his cute rescue dog. Erin whipped up some great pancakes. 4 Star: Our King room (107) had a few foibles. It sounded as if water was running all night, two nights in a row. And, the bathroom door needed to be reset as it didn't close. These are easily correctible. 5 Star: location and price I really appreciated the fresh tea! Such a treat! And the break from Persephone's (bakery) is awesome. Many B&B's would offer generic tea bags and White bread, so this is a huge plus for staying here! read more

We stayed at the cottages which are just a bit further down the street. The cottage we stayed in was a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath with kitchen and living room (which had a pull out bed). It was 30 feet from the water and so picturesque. Definitely recommend this place - service at the Alpine House itself was very friendly, we loved the teas and cookies. Also took the complimentary fixies out for a spin - it's the perfect town for bike riding! The cottage was super and worked well for our party of 5. The ceramic tiled floor in the shared bathroom was heated ... could definitely get used to that! Water pressure was light - it's a drizzle before you convert it to a shower so I imagine it would take a long time to fill the tub. The walls are also pretty thin so if you've got snorers in the group, it's recommended that you bring ear plugs and that you don't talk smack about those in the other room! Only thing to note is that breakfast is NOT included in the cottage (but it is included if you are getting a room in the Alpine House) - this is contrary to what the paper in the cottage says (which says breakfast is included). read more

We were in the lodges down the road from the main hotel. Really nice and cozy. We had a two bedroom cottage with a living room with a sofabed. Well maintained units in good condition. Excellent spot when you are in Jackson Hole. You can walk to the town center. You can borrow bear spray in the lobby for your hiking. Do take it. A real gem right in the heart of Jackson. This 22 room "hotel/B&B" envelopes you in its warm welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. It's modeled after the lodges that the owners visited when in the Alps when they were Olympic skiiers. It's very different from a traditional hotel, more like a B&B only without all the floral decoration and victoriana that you would usually find. What I loved the best (besides the breakfasts) were the little nooks where you could relax with a book - in the small library area, on the front porch or in the "bar" area where tea and coffee are available all day. It's simple in some ways but our room had little touches of luxury - like a plush down comforter, thick towels and the best hotel robes ever, bar none. The rooms are small but thoughtfully and individually decorated. There are no tv's in the rooms and while I wouldn't go so far as to say it's not "family friendly," it's definitely geared towards a more mature crowd. The breakfasts were amazing (and included, although I didn't realize that when I booked the room so I'm not sure if that's a year-round thing). We didn't take advantage of the chef's dinner that is sometimes offered ($75 inc wine + tax and tip) but if it's anything like the breakfasts then I have no hesitation in recommending it. If you are looking for free HBO and a pool, this place is not for you, but if you are looking for a quiet, restful oasis then maybe we'll see you at the Alpine House! read more

I stayed at the Alpine House during a recent stay in Jackson Hole. The location is great. It is a little ways off the main drag so it is quiet but it is still in walking distance to everything. There is plenty of parking and nothing weird like early morning garbage pickups outside your window. The bed, pillows, and various bathroom products were top notch. Breakfast was good.. better than a continental, but not like a home cooked breakfast. I also didn't find the staff very warm or welcoming. Our travel plans were complicated by cancelled flights and while they accommodated our changes they weren't interested in talking with us. In fact, we didn't even get a where are you from or a whats what of JH. Nothing specifically rude, just kind of unfriendly, which you dont normally expect from an inn. read more

We lucked out and got a two-bedroom cabin on short notice toward the tail end of a long road trip with our seven-year-old son. We were in the mood for luxury, rest, and relaxation, and The Alpine House delivered in spades! Our cabin was spacious, spotless, and graciously appointed. The beds and bathrooms were excellent, as were the bath products. We were just a 10-second stroll from a creek with geese to feed, and had our own deck to enjoy. The washer-dryer was very welcome after our week-long trip, and the kitchen was great--I'd love to come back for a longer stay and actually use it. :) The location is wonderful--back away from the main drag, but it was just a short walk to the center of town and some excellent restaurants. read more

A little slice of heaven! I cannot say enough about how wonderful it is. After a long day of skiing on the mountain walking in to my room in the Alpine House is a wonderful oasis for a long soak in the deep tub and then climb in to that yummy bed with soft, soft, soft sheets. It's quiet and allows for a deep restorative sleep. Then in the morning, to take my weary body downstairs for a delicious breakfast before starting all over again. The Alpine House feels like home. It's a relaxing, laid back attitude, staff is wonderful. Breakfast is amazing. It's in town so you can walk everywhere. As a single traveler I do not feel alone here. It's a warm and inviting atmosphere. Another great bonus are the yummy treats left on the bar when you come in from skiing. Make yourself a cup of tea and relax. My husband and I stayed at The Alpine House in July of 2010. This was my first time at a Bed and Breakfast and I wasn't sure what to expect. I had a picture in my head of a communal bathroom with strangers offering to scrub my back. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The Alpine House is a beautifully maintained hotel with plenty of private rooms for you to relax in. One of the nicest amenities of the Alpine House is that there is a mini-spa on the premises. I got an amazing massage from Becky that was worth every reasonably priced penny. The breakfast that was prepared every morning was to die for. Every morning we were greeted with a buffet of fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade pastries, and coffee. On our last day, we were treated to blueberry ricotta pancakes. They were probably the best thing I ate while we were in Jackson. I am still thinking about those amazing flapjacks and trying desperately to duplicate them. If you are interested in staying in a truly beautiful hotel with great amenities, you should definitely give the Alpine House a try. You will not be sorry. read more

Or you can use the complimentary bicycles to get downtown quicker or enjoy the numerous paved bicycle trails. Bright rooms feature Scandinavian-style decor, gas fireplaces, Flat Screen HDTVs, iPod docks and complimentary Wi-Fi. After check-in, we discovered the Property's Viking Bar where you can serve yourself to a craft beer or a glass of wine and record the use "per honor system" for billing upon check-out. Take your wine out to the property's beautiful porch overhang and courtyard with its perennial gardens, lawn and numerous tables and chairs. The Alpine House Lodge is the perfect retreat after a full day of skiing. We enjoyed a 3 night stay and loved the spacious room with a deep tub and cozy fireplace. The morning breakfast prepared by the on staff chef was outstanding. Each morning we enjoyed a great cup of coffee as the chef prepared her daily breakfast special. The staff was knowledgeable of the ski area and made excellent dinner recommendations. The Alpine Lodge was truly first class. Thanks for a great stay and retreat. Wonderfully inviting from the atmosphere to the warm and friendly staff that make you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, breakfast was so delicious every morning, and the library was so relaxing to sit by the fire recalling your days activities. In addition to the library being so inviting being able to walk in to fresh coffee and cookies after a day playing in the snow felt so like being at home. We stayed here while traveling throughout the west. This place is fantastic!!! We had room 101, queen size bed, TV, private bath, and a cozy patio to sit out each night! I had a little trouble locating it but I did eventually find it . The staff were very nice. The location is excellent to walk downtown. The breakfast was amazing- we had Huevos Rancheros one day and a Frittata with Canadian bacon and broccoli with a balsamic vinagrette the next. Fantastic! Kudos to the chef!!! This was a nice place. We rented one of the cabins. The place was clean. I have to guess that loads of folks leave condiments behind and they encourage you to check with the front desk - but they had nothing to spare. Oh, they have their own 'hotel kitchen' as well. So, guess where all of the left behind condiments from the cabins go? I'm not sure. Also, their website lists breakfast for free. We stopped in on the way out of town (after having packed up the whole cabin and cleaning it - and dropping off our unused groceries) and were turned away as the free breakfast was only for hotel guests - not cabin guests. Website can obviously be improved for clarity - and they could be a bit more generous after having all of those groceries for free. There's other places in town to stay. read more

Great place! Reasonable prices, location convenient to downtown Jackson. The staff and management really work hard to make your stay special. We stayed in room 111. The room was smallish but but had nice decorations, a spotless bathroom and a gas fireplace that really warmed the place up. We had robes hanging in the closet, a box of candy on the dresser, and easy access to our car in the back parking lot for loading and unloading. Breakfast was freshly prepared each morning and the menu changed daily. Coffee tea and an "honor bar" with a full range of alcoholic beverages available at all hours with cookies and candies too! There is a sauna, room for storing your skis and cold weather gear, a fireplace nook for relaxing and reading.....If you don't stay here you are missing out on a great experience. read more

My husband and I enjoyed our time at the Alpine House very much. It is within easy walking distance of downtown Jackson and many great shops and restaurants. The room we got was small, but with so many public spaces to use at any time of the day or night, we did not feel cramped. The breakfast was home cooked on the spot by the owner and was fantastic. It feels at home there, and I could easily envision spending more than two nights, which is something I can't usually say about hotels. read more

We had the two bedroom cottage back in June. Everything was perfect. Location, peace and quiet, and comfort. We were able to accomodate ourselves and our parents very comfortably. BBQ'ing up our dinners (multiple nights) on the grill was awesome and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They found my lost bluetooth (after I had already flown out) and mailed it out to me (at my cost). Those cookies they offer for free...are SO good. The rooms are very simple yet nice, pleasant colors, warm and cozy beds, nice bathroom and all areas are extremely clean and well kept. The common indoor areas are modern and comfortable and the yard is cozy and beautiful. The service is personal and too notch. I really don't often do Bed and Breakfasts with the 3 kids in tow (we typically prefer upscale, large, well-appointed hotels) but we happened upon this place and couldn't be happier with our choice. The location is perfect, a short walk to everything in town, a playground for the kids and even a fishing spot as well. Borrowed the bikes and went for a nice ride to check out the surroundings. Breakfast was perfect as well! I would definitely recommend this place wholeheartedly. I would imagine it would also be great for a family reunion or large family vacation. read more

Step out of Jackson and into a top European hotel/B&B. We stayed for seven days, and it was a wonderful experience. All I can say is - good thing Jackson is all about outdoor sports, because the free breakfast is so incredible, you can't stop eating. The staff are very knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. The owners are former Olympians who know how to cater to the weary outdoor sports enthusiasts. The rooms are cozy and comfortable - some have TVs some don't, but all have giant tubs you can get lost in - the perfect remedy for those sore muscles, aided by the bath salts they provide. Of course no stay is complete without fluffy robes - and these are spa-awesome. Come home at the end of the day, and beer and wine are provided on the honour system, with free baked goodies. There's are nooks and cranies all over the inn where you can sink in to read a book, or chat with other guests. It's in a quiet part of town, so walking distance to all the action. This is a hidden gem, and I highly, highly recommend it! read more

Wonderful location, very friendly accommodating staff. The Inn was very nicely decorated and very clean. You should know that there is no elevator so if you have a heavy suitcase you have to carry it up about 20 stairs. There are no bell hops. We had a standard room with a shared balcony which had a view of a parking lot( awful ). The room was very small and could have been cleaned much better. There was a fan which was rather useless so it was very stuffy. There is no frig or coffee pot in the room. For the price I felt there should be.The TV was tiny tiny. Breakfast was yummy set in a lovely dinning area. Although it's a lovely Inn, I don't think we would stay again. read more

My cousin and I stayed at the Alpine House for 6 nights in May. We couldn't have been more pleased with our room. We were upgraded from two twins to two queens. The hanging quilts on the wall, the gas fireplace, and the charming chairs all added to the perfect ambiance for our stay. The hotel staff was helpful, even escorting the Lonely Luggage guy to our room to deliver Cindy's recovered suitcase at 9 pm one night. The added security was appreciated. We enjoyed ice cream one afternoon out in the grassy area in the front yard on their Adirondack chairs. Their breakfasts were delicious each day made even better in their friendly dining room. read more
