With this motel, you pay for the location. We came in late august and paid about $370 a night. Pros: dog friendly (with grass nearby), cheap pet fee ($25/stay), clean, daily house keeping, friendly people, within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops in Jackson. Cons: shabby decorations (we had a poster from 2000 in our room), blinds kept falling down which made it hard to access the balcony, insufficient outlets for modern electronics (2 outlets for the whole room), limited hot water in the bathroom (I had to take a cold shower), our tub didn't drain well, no breakfast provided, no elevator serving our side of the building, the hotel lobby is only open 7 am -10 pm (which meant that I couldn't get coffee before we left for the day, even though they provide it in the lobby), one paid washer and dryer which made the process longer. I enjoyed the downtown area, but this hotel wasn't worth the price. read more

Like most of the Jackson properties, the cost far outweighs what you get. Our experience included not working television with a confusing setup, a light switch that didn't affect the lights but disabled the plugs for the microwave and refrigerator. A tipped over garbage can outside the door that I straighten but no one ever cleaned. I'd like to give higher, but combine the above with almost $300 for the night, I just cannot. read more

We had a very comfortable stay and had a kitchenette to cook some of our meals and prepare sandwiches before our adventures. It is right in the center of town and very convenient to most restaurants and shops. Parking was a little sparse but they had a second property that we were able to park at. We stayed there for a long weekend trip to go snowmobiling and absolutely loved the Ranch Inn. The people at check in were great and the room was quite large. The location is perfect. We are sad to hear that they may be tearing it down as we would love to stay there again when we return. It was clean and had everything we needed. We were able to walk to the town and explore at our leisure without having to worry about driving and parking. If it had been warmer, would have really enjoyed the balcony too. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! They do NOT honor cancellation policy! We had a medical emergency and their website said we could cancel within 72 hours of arrival. We called 96 hours in advance to cancel and they said we will lose our money if we dont show up. We explained that we have their email stating we have 72 hours and we are calling well in advance. They said we can only speak to manager. After 2 days, 6 calls and an email NO manager would take our call or return our call. Then today they charged our credit card AGAIN for over $300. We had to contact our credit card company to dispute these charges and are having to fight for our money back because they do NOT honor their policies!! DONT take a chance! Stayed for 5 days in late June. Only 2 outlets in room. Bathtub had 2 large areas of Porcelain missing. Towels paper thin. Soap provided wouldn't lather at all. Only amenities were coffee and tea. This is worth about $80 a night at the most. We paid triple and it was awful. It was very close to the square but that was it. I would never recommend to anyone. read more

My husband and I loved our stay here! We came for a 4 day trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park and although it was a bit of a drive to Yellowstone, we enjoyed every minute of it. We've stayed everywhere from the Fairmont in Maui to a motel 6 in Boise and this was one of my favorite hotels we've ever stayed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and plenty of extra pillows and blankets were already provided in-room. I have to sleep with some kind of white noise and there's a heating/cooling unit in room that has a fan option as well. It was perfect and drowned out any outside noise without being too loud or crackly etc. Additionally, the heater literally warmed up the room in two minutes or less. I can imagine this would be super helpful in the cold winter months! Front desk staff was courteous and friendly, and we weren't left needing anything for our whole stay. Ice machine was easily accessible. The room was clean, and there were no visible signs of wear and tear anywhere. The only drawback was the lack of microwave/mini fridge (which we knew when booking the room) and that the water pressure in the shower was lacking. The water got nice and hot though! Had an excellent time, and we will definitely be back! read more

My friend booked on priceline.com and that may have been where the problem started but certainly not ended. Our first room (and second) as other reviewer's have stated were very outdated from the room furnishings to the bathroom - all of it, sink, shower, toilet. Probably original, very outdated. The room had a strange smell. The bathroom was dirty, hair around the periphery of the floor and in the shower. Three old soaps were sitting in the soap tray within the shower. We complained the next morning and we were given another room. This room was on another side of the Inn. This one was cleaner, but still hair on the periphery of the floor in the bathroom. There was only one toilet paper roll. None in the cabinet under the sink. No extra rolls. People stay there I imagine for location: it's so close to the square where all the restaurants are. Plus it's a stop for a free shuttle that takes you up to Jackson Hole mountain resort. But aside from that it's not worth it bc it sorely outdated and not clean. Nice central location, free wifi, free parking. A s of Sep 2017 they offer nice basic updated rooms with comfortable beds, nice sheets, bed covers, nice towels and so on. Those rooms are in their "towers" .... They also have older lower priced rooms which they call their "Luxury rooms". We booked both (for different dates) and thought we were getting a deluxe, better than their "towers" room when reserved a "luxury" room. We thought we had "scored" a really low price in getting a "luxury" room. Not so ... their basic older rooms they call "luxury" and their better rooms are called "tower rooms." Bottom line this isn't a lousy place, just know what kind of room that you are willing to pay for and don't expect luxury in their "luxury" rooms. read more

Comfortable, Clean, and Convenient The specialist from Jackson Hole Central Reservations suggested the Ranch Inn for my five night ski trip. She said that staying in the village is nice, but Jackson is the place to be in the evenings. It is hard to get closer to town square than the Ranch Inn. The SMART bus stop is less than a block away. Just $3 one way to Teaton Village. We were placed in a tower room which had a balcony with a view towards the Snow King Slopes. This spacious room had two queen beds, refrigerator, microwave, flat screen tv, cable, and small seating area. It had two vanities which make getting ready faster in the AM when staying with family and friends. Note they have smaller room types available. The beds are comfortable and the pillows are adequate. No fancy duvets here, just traditional hotel bedspreads. Daily maid service did a great job. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. A fairly simple breakfast was provided daily. Hot and cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins, toast, juice, coffee, and tea. I wish they put out some ice water. This hotel is in excellent repair. Book with confidence. read more

Some pictures on other sites had me concerned about how things were gonna be, but everything was booking up, I needed something I could afford and I refuse to stay in a Motel 6. I booked #207 and I was pleasantly surprised with how nice and clean everything was! It had a full kitchenette (sink, stove, oven, microwave, mini-fridge) with kitchen basics (pots/pans, prep tools and serving-ware), a spacious entry way, a tv space/fireplace with a comfy couch, a huge patio, a firm bed with lots of pillows, a large bathroom with a tub and a separate vanity. Our toddler was able to play freely while my husband showered and I did my hair/makeup in my own space. There was lots of space, storage areas, extras and natural lighting. If we go back, I'll stay here again and in Room #207 because I know it's not haunted (LOL). Such a great place for a great price! Annual trip to Jackson Hole- Have stayed here 4 times. Nice, clean close to everything. Each year we have made reservations for 3 rooms for friends riding LOTOJA race- 200 mile bike race. Each year reservation has been for 2 nights, Some leave next day, some stay for extra night. Reservations were made one year ago. Our first person tried to check in at 5pm. Counter agent-Juan insisted 2 night charge, stating it is company policy. I explained, by phone, that we had done this yearly for 4 years without problem. When we arrived at 8:30 after a very long hard day with confirmation numbers in hand, our rooms had been rented to others because first person had refused to pay ahead for 2 nights! Tired and sweaty after 12-13 hrs on the bike, no other hotels available, we were forced to drive back to Utah. Web site and confirmation letter say nothing about 2 night minimum. read more

I was super impressed with this motel! At the last minute my husband and I decided we wanted to get a hotel in Jackson. I started searching and found this place had vacancy and it was for a steal of a deal! The hotel was a little outdated, but it was so clean and spacious! We absolutely loved our short stay here and we will definitely use this place in the future! The proximity to all the best downtown restaurants and bars is absolutely prime! About the same pros and cons of the other reviewer. We stayed here before my sister's wedding and the best thing about it was the location. However, as a woman, I have to say the lighting around the sink is awful for putting on make-up. I was in the honeymoon suite as well as a regular room and the vanity lights in the regular room were so hot I couldn't stand in front of them for long. The honeymoon suite did have a nice, wrap-around balcony and a fireplace, but the shower was in the jacuzzi tub which was quite dangerous to get in and out of. I never took advantage of the breakfast with Jedediah's House of Sourdough so close, so I can't comment on that. The price was right so I'd stay again to avoid the high costs with a great location. You shouldn't be spending much time in your room anyway. read more

Hey, I looked at all of the travel (air, hotel, rental car) websites & had pretty much concluded we were going to stay in Idaho rather than pay $200 a night. I'm not much for paying those kinds of prices unless I'm going to enjoy the venue and we were planning on visiting the city - not using the room except for the night. So we were having so much fun exploring Jackson, I could tell my wife wanted to stay the night. I looked up local places on either Yelp or 4Square and found a number of recommendations. The 1st two were out of reasonably priced rooms and then I called the Ranch Inn. Turns out they're less than a block off the city center. What a great location and at a very reasonable price ($115). We checked in and the staff got us checked in right away & they were so nice to help us with directions around town and other advice & service. Ok, their free breakfast could use some improvement, no doubt, but hey, it's free and they had fruit and cereals and that kind of stuff. Would I have liked a waffle? Sure, but hey. read more

I am writing this review solely based on customer service. I had been hoping to stay an extra night in Jackson at the end of my hiking trip through Yellowstone. I sent an online request for a reservation the night before we set out on our hike. Knowing that I would have very limited access to email, I placed an automatic reply on my email. I did this the day before leaving on my trip because I was worried I would forget to do so if I waited. I didn't think this was a problem. It was for the Ranch Inn, apparently. After responding to my online request almost immediately to tell me they were booked, they received my vacation reply. Instead of making the assumption that I placed it on my email early, they sent me back a sarcastic email at 3 am!! Of course, their second note to me was left unsigned, so it painted the whole Inn with the brush of a jerk. I found the second note to me uncalled for and really unprofessional. I responded explaining that I placed the auto reply on my email early and that I had done so so that people wouldn't worry if they didn't get a response right away. Of course, no one from the Inn bothered to reply to my explanation. Needless to say, I have a very poor view of the Ranch Inn's customer service and will not seek to stay there during subsequent trips to Jackson. If snarky is their customer service motto, save your money and stay at a place that cares about hoe it interacts with people. read more

I booked the Ranch Inn online for 2 nights, knowing I might not make the first night...but since the price was so low, I was okay paying to make sure we had a place, just in case. We drive to Jackson Hole and the drive took a bit longer than I expected, oh, and there's a time change. So we arrived at 6 AM. The clerk initially seemed a bit annoyed that I hadn't called to let them know we'd be late, but I said it'd be no problem to pay for the missed night, I am not sure she heard me. Luckily her mood shifted quickly and we got checked in quickly to a large and comfortable room...by 6:10. I've been staying in a lot of hotels lately and if there's one thing I am starting to be able to judge, it's when a place is the real McCoy. The Ranch Inn is! It doesn't have the newest furnishings or latest colors or fabrics, but it's got everything you need and the attention to detail is such you know that they care how guests enjoy their stay. There was a slightly normal than usual refrigerator, a much larger TV (than I have seen at much more expensive hotels), an easy to operate heater to warm the room up quickly. The sheets were nice and clean, very comfortable. The towels were gleaming bright white but they don't really need to be if they're clean, right? The breakfast if definitely continental...I missed that detail along the way. It was still okay, just a bit carb heavy. The location is fantastic and free parking (yes, I know this is a motel) is outstanding. This place is very easy to find (just a block off the square) and provides very easy access to roads into and out of town. We loved being able to walk out our door, down a short alley then make a turn and the square was just half a block away. Car access was just as easy, so quick to come and go. read more

This Motel needs a better photographer. The place I wanted to stay had no vacancies left. Let's just say that place is photogenic, but not so lovely from the curb. Ranch Inn while not lovely in online pics, is clean, friendly and lovely on site. We paid less to stay at this superior lodge. The furniture is a little tired, but the beds and linens seems new and fresh, the rooms are spacious, so clean, comfy and quiet, the location is hard to beat, and the staff is kind and welcoming. Finding myself in the middle of the Fall season in Jackson Hole, I saw there were plenty of motels and hotels around with the "vacancy" sign lit up. The only place in town that I could find that actually had a "no vacancy" sign light up like a Christmas tree was the Ranch Inn - and there is a very special reason - it's cheap. This small but very comfortable and friendly motel could offer the very best value in Jackson Hole. I stayed at this motel for a couple of nights at $60 a night, and it was a very comfortable experience for a great price. (Note: for those who don't know, Jackson Hole is a pricey little town - with the Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole charging up to $600/night). The rooms were clean and modern, and even provided free wi-fi. My daily rate even included a free continental breakfast, which unfortunately, I did not have a chance to take advantage of, as I was in Jackson Hole to photograph the fall colors in Grand Teton National Park, and that required me being out in the park way before the crack of dawn. Jackson Hole's best value inn also includes a fabulous location with its daily rate - it is one block south of Jackson Hole's Town Square, and the very center of Jackson Hole - easy walking distance to shops, bars, and restaurants. The main road into Grand Teton National Park basically passes right by the motel. When the roads to the northern part of Yellowstone were closed because of road construction and the fire burning in the park, I opted at the last minute to stay extra days in Jackson Hole. The Ranch Inn was booked up solid for about the next week (I guess people know about the "best value" part), and as a result I had to make the big move to the Antler Inn across the street. All in all, a great place to stay, and I'd stay there again when looking for reasonably priced accommodations in Jackson Hole proper. But my favorite hotel accommodation experience in the area so far still remains Jackson Lake Lodge inside Grand Teton National Park (see separate review). read more

Ranch Inn? More like the perfect solar Apo-eclipse refuge. I was on the journey from Salt Lake City to watch the infamous solar eclipse which meant preparing for fully booked hotels secondary to over priced hotel rooms (one hotel was even $1400!), limited porta potty options, and songs to sing to while waiting in traffic. I arrived with confidence that I would be able to save money by spending a few nights in the Toyota RAV4 on oddly shaped memory foams, but I was too scared to admit I was wrong. Throughout the night I was discourage to see the lack of vacancy throughout town until I saw Ranch Inn on the peripheral of my eye. I immediately called because I was in disbelief that there was a room available during the solar eclipse weekend. Karen picked up the phone and she was the voice that saved us from the unknown abyss. She told us there was a cancellation that night and we were fortunate to find the cheapest price in town. If it wasn't for Karen, I would have questioned if it was worth spending $500 for two nights. Karen made us feel welcome the moment we walked in the front office at 11:30pm. She was vibrant, humorous, welcoming and informative which I believe is resume worthy for a time near midnight. Karen even called us when we got to our room to make sure we were settled. The room was quiet and clean so no complaints there. Additionally the location was perfectly central to everything we wanted to see! I definitely recommend this place for wonderful customer service and budget friendly accommodation. We will definitely come back to The Ranch Inn to visit Karen, but in the mean time I recommend to stop by to say hi to Karen if you need a smile on your face (starting at 1030pm when her shift starts)! I booked my family's vacation for YellowStone and Tetons 4 months ago including booking 4 nights at the Ranch Inn starting Friday 8/7. When I arrived at 6pm to check-in I was told that my reservation started on Thursday and since I was a "no-show" they charged my card and gave away our room. They were booked full since Sturgis had just let out and could care less that my wife and I and four kids were without a place to stay. When I said they had made a mistake of the reservation the manager said he had never made a mistake and remembers specifically taking my reservation...4 months ago by phone?!? They could absolutly care less that they had sold our room out from under us becuase of high demand at a much higher price and left us out on the streets. If it was not for the Chamber of Commerce and the Painted Buffalo we would have remaind on the street that night. read more

I stayed at the Ranch Inn on my way through Jackson in the middle of September. The motel is very much as advertised- centrally located, clean, and affordable. (If you are looking for something fancy, the Ranch Inn is probably not for you.) We winded up here as it was all that was available the weekend that LOTOJA rolled into town. We were not disappointed. Clean large room with a balcony. Location is great as it is right there in the center of town. The staff was super nice and responsive. We asked for a roll away bed and it was there in 5 minutes, extra blankets - immediate.
