After getting back from our camping tour, it was honestly such a relief to not have to cook that night. We used our free pizza code at Mountain Mike's and got the large Everest pizza and it really hit the spot after a week of desert food decisions and heat survival lol. We did a pickup order and they were super nice and friendly, and our pizza was hot and ready when we got there. No waiting, no stress, just immediate post-camping recovery mode. What we really liked was the thin crust it still held up really well even with all the toppings. It wasn't soggy at all, which is kind of impressive with how loaded it was. And the slices being smaller made it feel easy to just keep going back for "one more piece" without overthinking it. This was my first time trying this place, and getting in and out was simple with no issues parking. The inside has that classic pizza chain feel. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable from what I could see while waiting. It seems like the kind of place people come to watch a game or bring the family. Service was quick and smooth. My order was ready when they said it would be, and the staff was friendly and efficient. I've seen people mention it can get busy, but my experience was easy. I ordered a large Pikes Peak, and it definitely lived up to the reputation of being loaded. Tons of meat, very filling, and the crust held up well without getting soggy. I first tried Mountain Mike's Pizza at a recent Yelp event and loved their pizza, so of course I had to come by to try the location closest to my house! It is very easy to order from their app or website. We went with a large Everest which is one of their specialty pizzas; it comes with several veggies and meats (salami, pepperoni, linguica, beef, italian sausage). My husband and I split the large for $30, it was plenty for us with at least 4-6 slices leftover. We also got some of their boneless buffalo wings, a 1/2 lb order was $12. We asked for sides of ranch to go with both orders and that was such a good move, their ranch is delicious and definitely added to the quality of the meal. The food was ready on-time right when I arrived. While we did not dine-in for this meal, the inside of the restaurant appeared clean and spacious. I'll start with this--I'm not even really a pizza guy. I probably eat pizza once or twice a year, and usually it's just out of convenience. But this place might've just changed that. I went to Mountain Mike's Pizza and ordered a garlic Parmesan stuffed crust pizza and built my own kind of Hawaiian-style combo with linguica, ham, pepperoni, artichokes, and mushrooms... and man, that thing was FIRE. Seriously one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. The garlic Parmesan stuffed crust alone is worth it--I could've eaten just that all night. We did have a little mix-up with my online order, but the guy working there was patient, professional, and walked me through everything without any frustration. They got the order redone and had a fresh, piping hot pizza ready in about 15 minutes. That kind of service matters. We were planning to take it to go, but the second we opened the box for a quick picture, the smell said otherwise--we ended up eating it right there. No regrets. The place itself is clean, in a nice parking area, and has a great vibe--TVs going with college games, some games inside, and just an overall chill environment. I didn't even realize they're open until 2 AM, which makes it even better. Big props to this location. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back. read more

We had been meaning to try Mountain Mike's all you can eat pizza and salad bar lunch buffet since they opened this location, and boy did they DISAPPOINT. We showed up just a few minutes after 11:00 to experience the buffet that is advertised to be available from 11 am to 2 pm. There were no pizzas available. There was a fresh and well stock salad bar to get started on. The pizza did not come out until about 11:25 and then it was just 2 pizzas. Eventually there were 4 pizzas available and some cheese bread. This was to little too late as it was nearly 11:45 before the pizza bar was fully stocked and 2 buffet customers had already come and gone by this time. If I was on a lunch break, I would have been even more disappointed. Service: The cashier quickly rang us up and gave us a total. As we were paying, we asked about the Senior Discount which one our neighbors had told us about. Our entire party was qualified for a senior discount. The cashier said "Yes, it is 20% off, but it is too late now." We later notice the same 20% off is available to students and 1st responders, which more than half of our group also would have qualified as 1st responders with ID. After the initial 5 customers had come in and a few orders had been called in, the same cashier spent the next 20 minutes on her phone on social media. I guess that is why she had no time to adjust our check to reflect discounts we qualified for. To add insult to injury, the same cashier asked the next few senior citizens if they were seniors and applied discount for them. Meanwhile she told us that the pizza wouldn't be out for 10 minutes, which actually took 20 minutes. It is a shame that temporary greed by the management or laziness by the employee is what we will have to use when making a decision to come back or not. Service from the kitchen: The kitchen did produce pizzas while the dining room was waiting for the pizza bar to be filled, but those 4 were for a delivery and a full fifteen minutes later the pizzas for the inside the store customers came out. Something else disgusting: We assumed this person works at this store as he was behind the counter serving himself several slices of pizza in a small box. He was using his bare hands and didn't start to use the pizza spatulas until several of us stood up to see him handling the buffet food with his bare hands. As we left, we counted 8 other food restaurant choices of which 6 are in the same parking lot. I personally know that within a block of this place there are 3 other places to get pizza and more than a dozen other choices to dine at with better service. It is not the food that failed, it was all employee driven. read more

I had high hopes for this place. We heard about the lunch salad and pizza buffet. My husband, son and I came to check it out. The store was clean and inviting. We ordered 3 buffet meals. At 77, 57 and 71, we were all obviously seniors. She ran our credit card. When asked what day do they have senior discounts, the cashier said, everyday. But, she had already finished the transaction and couldn't change it. We got our salads and sat down. 3 other people came in. They were also obviously seniors and she asked them if they were seniors. There were large posters all over the front windows of the restaurant, advertising senior, student and first responders discounts. We had arrived the minute they opened at 11 AM. The pizzas didn't come out until about 11:20. They were pretty good. I'm not sure if I could recommend this restaurant. read more

**NOT RECOMMENDED** Today, my family went to Mountain Mike's for their lunch buffet opening at 11:00 AM. They clearly post & advertise their 20% discounts (1st responders, students & seniors).. At age 77, 72 & 57 it would be obvious which category we fall in to. The cashier rung up our order at full price and charged our credit card. When asked about it, she said she would not & could not correct the charge once it's made. The next 3 customers were also clearly seniors. She offered each of the three, the senior discount and processed their order with the 20% discount. The 1st pizza was not placed on the buffet until 11:23 AM !! Living in Reno & being members of Yelp's elite group, we make every effort to dine at restaurants run under local ownership. The two people on shift tonight running the reg were polite enough but as soon as I stepped outside to wait at their tables one of them hopped up and sat on the counter just talking away to his co worker that was on her phone CHOMPING HER GUM!!!! Decent local pizza place in downtown Reno. I ordered through DoorDash so I don't know what the inside of the restaurant is like. I loved the fact that they had many personal pizzas which were perfect for one person and extremely convenient as I was on a business trip and eating solo. The toppings were plentiful and fresh and the thin crust was very nice. The red sauce had a little bit of a kick to it, but was very tasty. I also got the garlic cheese breadsticks, which were very nice. Definitely someplace I would eat again. read more

I had the pleasure of attending a huge Yelp elite event with 75 +/- food and drink vendors. It was great! I was surprised to see Mountain Mike's there, as the event was dominated by small, local restaurants. MM's was giving away slices of pizza, I guess I had the Everett or McKinley, I wish I'd asked. It was SO GOOD! Of alllllllll those vendors at the event, Mountain Mike's was - again, surprisingly - one of the best BY FAR! I haven't been to the Fifth Street location yet, it's very close to my work, and I can't wait to get a whole pizza from there. read more

First time trying Mountain Mikes (sat 2/28) and it won't be the last. Staff was very attentive and spot on with menu advice to cater to each of our group of 3. Had wings, pizza and a dessert pizza and all of them were loaded with toppings edge to edge and so fresh/hot we had to let them cool for a minute. Environment is mellow which was the goal for the night (no bartop table games, random bs promoting 'spin the wheel' gambling etc.) Also very clean, from the entry way to the restroom I used I was actually impressed. read more

I liked this place! Let's start by saying that I have very particular tastes when it comes to pizza having grown up in New York City. I prefer classic East Coast NY/NJ style pizza...thin crispy crust, minimal toppings...you know what I'm talking about... I do enjoy a good "West Coast" style of pizza once in a while and that's what I always find from this company! I've had their pizza before and always enjoyed it, so I decided to partake of their lunch buffet at their newest location. Located in the NW side of town, it's surrounded by other brand new establishments that get a lot of traffic, which leads to the only (albeit minor) negative about the whole experience...the parking lot was packed at lunchtime and I had to park a ways away to get a spot...no big deal... The interior is very nice...you can tell it's practically brand new...it felt comfortable and looked spotless! I was greeted by a very friendly employee at the counter who took my money and handed me 2 plates and a glass. The buffet was set up right next to the order/pay/pick up station and it looked inviting. Beautiful salad bar with LOTS of choices for fixing your salad any way that you like. Great selection of dressings, too. They also have macaroni and potato salad on the salad bar. Everything looked super FRESH and it was all delicious. After my salad, it was pizza time. They had garlic knots and 3 pizzas under the warmers. I grabbed some slices and thoroughly enjoyed them...and when I went back up for more, there was a whole new set of fresh pizzas to choose from! Everything was delicious...big thick crust, multitudes of toppings to choose from, all piping hot and tasty. I ate my fill...and I plan on going back to enjoy it again. read more

A good place for pizza and will be back. We tried this when my son was up from SoCal and I found out that AARP has a once-a-year coupon for their pizza. The counter help was really friendly and answered our questions with a smile. We ended up ordering a couple of pizzas and bread sticks. It came out in a timely manner and had plenty of toppings. We didn't have the salad bar but it looks well-maintained and fresh. We will probably be back to try the buffet lunch. The restaurant itself was clean and looked nice. Starting off with the salad bar, it was well stocked with canned and packaged goods but nothing fresh, if they lost their can opener it would just be lettuce. Next is the pizza, the crust is stiff and hard like it had been over kneaded, sauce was plentiful and seasoned well, cheese was ok and toppings were ok. Unfortunately the poor crust was too much to overcome even if everything else had been perfect. The price called for a much higher quality than what is served. hello! first time here and the parking lot was full on a Friday lunch time. I asked for the best seller pizza and they said the Everest, so i gave that a try and ordered a large 14" which cost $30. it took about 15-20 mins to make, after receiving the pizza and opened the box, it looks more of a medium size pizza. this pizza is more on the salty side, so if you cant eat a ton of sodium, i don't recommend. after taking the first few bites, the quality was mediocre. this pizza has a lot of dough inside, so if you like dough more than thin crust, this is the one. there wasn't a lot of marinara sauce on the pizza, wish they had more that along with cheese. it fell short on those two. they cut the pizza up for you in tiny slices. I probably wont be back because the value and quality of the pizza are not up to par for $30. I think $10 costco large cheese pizza actually tastes better. until the value and quality is better, I may come back and update my review. read more
