The crust was too doughy and the sauce lacked a lot of flavor. I would not go here again.

Super nice staff, tasty pizza and great prices. We got a personal pizza with 3 toppings and garlic cheese stick for under $9.

The pizza wasn't bad, but the wings were super super fatty with a mushy outside. It was overpriced as well. Wouldn't order from here again

Ask the Community - Mountain Mike's Pizza

Hello there is your cheese pizza non-animal rennet ? I'm asking for the Berkeley store off San Pablo…

No. You are more then welcome to provide us your bag of cheese and we ll happily put that on your pizza for you

What kind of oils are used in the dough for the pizza?

Soybean oil

Do they still have the lunch buffet?

Yes. M-F 11-2

Do you offer vegan cheese?

Hi Cheryl. We confirmed with this restaurant and we don't offer a vegan cheese. Most often we just exclude the cheese or dairy, and do the pizza with our traditional red sauce or we offer a pesto sauce too.

Do they have a salad bar?

Yes. At the Berkeley store it is usually open until 9pm.

The line does get pretty long on busy nights after big events like concerts, but it tends to move pretty fast. I've tried their Artichoke, Margherita, and Vodka slices which are all solid choices. Each of their slices are huge and great for the price of ~$8! Personally, I find their pizzas to be a bit on the heavier side with their generous amounts of sauce, but great if you're in the mood for some mouth-watering greasy saucy pizza. They operate on a grab n go service, but there are seats and a few standing tables outside. Overall, definitely a pizza spot worth going to when you're in Berkeley!

I liked how the tomato sauce was just straight tomato and not sweet or anything. At pickup, you get a cheese pull but it is not sloppy. When it cools, cheese doesn't get hard either. But Blondie's still knows how to crank out slices that are very satisfying for a quick bite. I got their classic pepperoni and it still plentifully loaded with beef pepperoni on a slice sizable enough to make you think twice before ordering two of them. I stuck with one. Something about the texture does not say dough prepared daily to my palate. Still, it's quick and delicious. The spicy tomato sauce and four cheese blend offer a nice balance to the doughy crust. Slices start as $6.99 for cheese. Vegetarian and a daily special are also available. Whole pies too -- $14 for a small cheese pie. 12 varieties to choose from and sizes ranging from 10' to the 22" Godzilla pizza. Not to mention wings or breadsticks. Order from a cashier or, when it's busy, a kiosk. For seating, there are only 3 small tables + 3 chairs at the window counter. Lot's of standing room or it's easy food to walk with. If you can't find street parking, the Telegraph-Channing lot is relatively inexpensive at $3/hour. Enter from Channing Way or Durant Ave.

Pizzeria da Laura in Berkeley is a fantastic spot for Italian food right in the heart of downtown,…read morejust steps from the university. The location gives it a lively downtown vibe with lots of energy from the surrounding area and nearby students. The reservation and check-in process was very smooth. The staff were incredibly courteous, welcoming, and helpful throughout the visit. I actually arrived about 30 minutes earlier than my reservation time, and they were kind enough to seat us early, which was a really nice touch. One thing I really like about this place is that they update their dishes a few times a year, so every visit can feel a little different and exciting. The menu has great variety, especially when it comes to pizza styles as you can choose from New York, Sicilian, Detroit, and Grandma-style pizzas, and the pricing is very straightforward for all the sizes they serve. The pizza was perfectly cooked and tasted great. They also allow you to customize your pizza by adding or removing ingredients, which makes it very convenient for everyone to choose based on their liking. And they add toppings with open-heart. The pasta was also excellent. We ordered the Peperoncino pasta, and it tasted amazing. The garlic flavor and breadcrumbs were really the highlight and brought out the authentic character of the spaghetti. Another big plus is that they have plenty of vegetarian options, making it easy for different dietary preferences. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable for what they serve. Food arrived quickly, and the service from the servers and staff was great throughout the visit. The restaurant also has plenty of space and handles reservations well. The atmosphere is lively with lots of people around and students from the nearby university, which adds to the downtown Berkeley energy. A little more upbeat music could add even more charm to the place. Overall, this is a place I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Berkeley. It's the kind of restaurant I'd happily come back to again and again.

The first time I came here many months ago, the pizza was better. After having a different Detroit style (Joyride) a few days later I realized that this one was not as good. My biggest issue is that I feel ripped off by this pizzeria. They charged me $3.99 for a takeout fee. I ordered directly on the website and it routed me to Toast. It wasn't even clear that they had a fee for taking out, they kinda slide it right past you. This is the first time I've ever experienced this level of robbery. Just for that, I wouldn't go back for takeout. The pizza is already $33 and what the hell is this fee even for? And they have the audacity to ask for tip on top of this while checking out. It's just insanity. You shouldn't do this to customers. Edit: I was scrolling reviews and saw the manager's response to someone who also complained about this fee, saying they don't control what Toast charges for takeout. Come on, really? You can control what platform you use. That's a poor excuse.

After finally trying it for myself, I can definitely see what all the hype is about. I kept it simple and ordered pasta with the white Alfredo sauce, and honestly it was one of the better pasta dishes I've had in a while.
