I've eaten at Mother's Cafe many many times and they have excellent food and excellent service however, I was super disappointed when I stopped by today and had to watch the food prep/expo/clown clearly make it a point to deliver everyone's food order with NO mask on. I commented to him, "really, no mask?", his comment "I like to breathe". If he didn't want to wear a mask then why not just stay in the back and have the front of the house server (who was wearing a mask) deliver the food? I mean C'mon man you are serving food in a pandemic! Are you gonna not wear pants tomorrow because you want your farts to breathe? I hope Mother's will take action on this because I want to come back but won't if I have to watch homie the mouth breather delivering everyone's food.

Our experience this week at this newly opened Eastside Mother's Juice Cafe was disappointing. We were expecting more in food quality and service focus from the Mother's folks. This is not their first rodeo of food service given the Westside Bend (Galveston St.) Mother's Juice Cafe has been in business for years.. The BOTTOM LINE question is will we go back to this Eastside Mother's Cafe? The answer is "No". Our experience would likely be a two star review and not three but for the fact Mother's is a local biz and one of the employees was outstanding. So, a 2.5 on a scale of five gets rounded up to three But for us, for the price paid (roughly $8 each for sandwich and salad) there is, in our experience, much better prepared food of equally good quality with much more pleasant ambiance at East Village down the road about a mile. http://www.yelp.com/biz/east-village-the-bend It is only fair to the business that a critical review be backed up with the experience that led to the conclusion. As follows. Let's start with the GOOD THINGS because there are some. 1) SPECIAL MENTION EMPLOYEE: Five GOLD stars for whomever was the young guy wiping off tables, keeping things cleaned up behind the counter, updating the daily specials board and wishing customers "have a good day" on their way out. If I owned a biz, this is the kind of initiative I'd look for in an employee. And it is initiative that might be modeled by the other staff. (See number one on the Disappointing Things below.) 2) MENU is creative with a plethora of healthy food options and starting with quality ingredients.. 3) AMBIANCE: If the space Mother's inherited from the defunct mom n pop sandwich shop (TuckMo) that was first in this place is not stellar for ambiance, at least it doesn't have sardine can seating - a very good thing to have space to walk about and increasingly rare in Bend. 4) ACCESSIBILITY:: Located in the Borden Corner center (across from Longboard Louie's) the cafe is level in from parking through the door and throughout and also has accessible loo(s) for him and her. Now the DISAPPOINTING THINGS. 1) CORDIAL BUT NOT HELPFUL COUNTER STAFF: Counter folk were cordial enough when orders were placed, if not particularly welcoming to new customers who walked in and looked around trying to figure out the lay of the land. You know:, "Welcome to Mother's Café. Our menus are here. Let us know what questions we can answer. We'll take your order at the counter.". At least two customers walked in looking confused and walked out while we were there for lack of this assistance while the counter staff chatted with each other. 2) FOOD NOT GREAT FOR KITCHEN EXECUTION: We ordered two things that sounded promising: a black bean falafel sandwich with green tomato tzatziki that was to come in a pita and a strawberry spinach salad with caramelized onion dressing, pepitas and feta. The flavors of all the ingredients in the BB falafel sando were good BUT the execution was amazingly amateur for a biz with Mother's experience. As example, instead of being arranged inside the pocket of the pita, the falafel sandwich ingredients came slapped together - almost literally it seems - between two separate whole pita breads making it awkward to eat and with too much bread in the mix. The spinach in the salad had seen better days and although the flavors were good for the dressing, a big glop of cold caramelized onions at the bottom of the salad bowl was not. 3) SLOW SERVICE: In spite of the fact there were few customers at about high noon on a weekday, food was very slow to come out of the kitchen. 4) AMBIANCE: The sound system was turned up high volume to a local radio station playing pounding music with poor quality, scratchy, transmission. Sound matters to ambiance...something more mellow, with the quality of the transmission fixed at the right volume would help here. In particular given the ultra high ceilings and hard surfaces make sound bounce around. . 5) ALREADY LIMITED SEATING TAKEN UP BY MOTHER'S OFFICE EQUIPMENT: Although great to not have sardine can layout, there is only seating for about 24 at about six different tables. And two of those tables were taken up by what seemed to be the Mother's office equipment of laptop, photo copiers and so on. Adds to an overall sense of disarray in the place that is not particularly welcoming We love supporting locally owned businesses and go out of our way to do that. But they need to meet their customers half way by providing a reason for the support. There are many good lunchtime, casual options in Bend. The Mother's folks have too much food service experience to deliver this lackluster customer experience.

First time at Mother's and had a good experience. Ordered two smoothies, Roma Beauty and Tropical Fuji both with a shot of 25 mg of CBD. The smoothies have a great fruity taste and no added sugar, unlike other juice cafes. The staff was pleasant and welcoming, the service was quick and the wait was minimal at 12:30 PM. The bathrooms could have used a little attention. The paper towels were opposite the sink so there was a trail of water dribbles on the floor. Overall, it as good. Will have to make it back to try the food offerings as they looked and smelled delicious.

I ordered a vegetable scramble and potatoes, I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed. First of all the appearance of the food was not very appetizing, unfortunately the flavors were lacking a bit too and it seemed rather greasy. I try to write very positive reviews, however, I have to be honest, this was a disappointment and all for $11! The servers were somewhat courteous but nothing exceptional or out of the ordinary. I'm not sure if I'll return... Update on my review: Jessica just called me and was extremely apologetic and said they credited back my $11 and have a free drink waiting for me anytime! WOW! That is exceptional customer service and I will most definitely give them a second chance! I am also giving 4 stars because of Jessica!

Love how the food is so fresh! I love eating healthy and that makes me feel so good! I've enjoyed their berry salad with grilled chicken.

WTF Mothers.. seriously RAW BACON in my salad?! Even if I cook it the lettuce is now infested with bacteria. I'm so low on funds and have no car right now. I really needed a healthy strong breakfast for my day ahead. I am beyond grossed out. This is the 3rd time I've ordered them in the past 6 weeks and every time something either is forgotten, comes wrong, they're out of ingredients, etc , and that's the stuff I can handle. RAW BACON IS UNACCEPTABLE. I am so so grossed out. Maybe they get away with this BS bc it's the only juice delivery. So sad Bend and mother's so SAD

Last minute change of heart- I ordered the Gobbler, a roast turkey sandwich on a croissant with a flavor profile reminiscent of Thanksgiving. The sweetness of the fig jam played well with the poached pear, savory turkey and peppery arugula. Dessert will have to wait until our next visit. The pastry counter at the front of the restaurant displays cinnamon roles, scones, muffins and impressive cakes. There's even a marionberry and white chocolate bread pudding that would make a wonderful brunch choice.

That's really the only factor I can point to that's remotely negative but also not complaining it's an observation. I see after being there why this works for the restaurant. You order at the counter, get a number, and then sit. Since it was our first time, we wanted to look over the menu, but we ended up just going with the specials -- and honestly, they were incredible. We had a unique and delicious Portuguese sausage biscuits‑and‑gravy dish with bacon on the side, and the other plate was an eggs benedict on an amazingly light, airy muffin with tomato, perfectly poached eggs, and a Portuguese sausage link, plus potatoes. Our plates were spotless by the end. The house iced tea was also a standout -- infused with fruit and specialty tea, but without actual fruit pieces in the cup. It tasted elevated and refreshing. I also ordered a cinnamon‑cardamom coffee, which was divine. Next time -- because there will be a next time -- we're thinking of sharing the special of the day and getting a spread of fresh pastries. Highly recommend.

It's a walk in sit down spot - you place your order at the counter and they give you a number - decent size for busy food times - so usually plenty of seating. Over the phone ordering was a snap and the dude was super polite and helpful - not rushed. My wife got the traditional breakfast - she loved the local links and flaky biscuit - I think it was peach marmalade - not sure, but it was LEGIT. I got the pozole roja (I think that's the menu name) and - yo, it was the best pozole I've had. The ingredients were plenty, the chicken was tender and flavorful, they put the radishes, cilantro and cabbage on the side for you to add so it's not soggy. Sourdough was so good to dip - mouth is watering writing this. Service th morning we were headed out at 7amish was great also - wife got coffee cake (warmed in their brick oven) and I got two citrus muffins and a sourdough cinnamon roll for later - all were scrumptious and delightful. I would got a half dozen muffins if I knew they were that good before. People were kind and the service is quick. We ate there these two time on $52 dollars - both to-go orders. We will absolutely be back - every time we are near bend, I'll be stopping for pozole for sure! Well done, Jacksons Corner, well done!

Set in an old home, this establishment has become one of Bend's favorite restaurants. The menus have range with breakfast by far being my favorite. However, their pizzas are spectacular and I've never had a pastry yet that I didn't really enjoy. They serve coffee from a local roaster called Lone Pine. The staff is always extremely friendly and I have frequently positive interactions with them when I stop by. Prices are reasonable, and the food is very high-quality while also being consistently fresh. Parking can be a challenge at times, but it's always worth the effort. Not to mention a chance for a nice stroll around downtown Bend after my meal... just the perfect end to complement a perfect day here in this lovely place. Thank you Jackson's corner for being a staple in this community and consistently making every meal here a little bit more joyful.

We decided to try this place (and yes have been to McKay Cottage) because of the local hype around it. Got there around 0815 on Memorial Day - no wait- got seated at a booth right inside the door. We were given water right away, and coffee to follow. The gal took our order; California omelet for me with white toast, and Biscuits and Gravy for the DH. I'd say we waited around 20 minutes for our food; not bad. Huge plates! I had a sneak bite of his meal, and it was not bad although the biscuits (which were huge) seemed pretty doughy. Pretty much no flavor in the gravy so loaded up on the pepper and it was better. I've noticed in Bend the gravy is always served on top of mutant bread lumps known as biscuits instead of on the side. My omelet, the potatoes were very good- for the 1/4 of it I could eat. Lots of stuff jammed in there for sure! White toast and whatever jam they served was not good. Coffee was not good; weak.
