I was looking for a low key lunch spot that had outdoor seating. This place did just that. It sits at the end of a dock and is very tiny. You place your order at a counter and then find a seat. A quaint little breakfast cafe located right on the marina. I often walked by this place without even knowing it was there! If you're in a hurry or want a quick, cheap bite then this may not be the spot for you. But if you're enjoying a lazy morning and would like to sip some coffee while staring out at the bay then look no further. I personally come here for the croissant sandwiches, which you can enjoy with with ham, turkey, egg or avocado. They also have some baked goods, though I haven't tried those yet. The drinks are a bit watered down, so I don't usually get one. But if you were so inclined, they have coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and even beer or wine to choose from. The service here is a little slow, but always friendly and I love to support a local business. I love taking walks down the pier with my husband and 8-month old, so why not stop by for a croissant while I'm at it? This is definitely a gem of a spot. The view is gorgeous and I like the way they set up the seating so you have a row of stools facing the water directly. I had a tuna sandwich. It was a hearty, yummy sandwich and I would definitely order it again. I want to come back and try their brunch foods. They do have happy hour specials with a dollar off beer. The beers are already silly cheap costing only about five bucks a pop(coming from San Francisco that's magic) The place is dog-friendly, which is always nice getting to hang out with pups. read more

What a fantastic gem of a place! And what a fantastic gem of an owner and crew. Late this past week, we decided to have an informal little birthday gathering at a local park. We wanted to order a cheese and charcuterie board from a place we had purchased one before. Unfortunately, that business was no longer making them. I reached out to another business that makes them, but they are temporarily on a break. However, they recommended we reach out to Mosley's Cafe. The Mosley's folks didn't hesitate to say yes to us, despite the very short lead time. Even better, what they created knocked it put of the park in terms of visual appeal, generosity, and deliciousness. The boxes were filled to the brim with plentiful cheeses, fresh and dried fruit, chocolates, crackers, salami, fresh grilled sausage, homemade rosemary encrusted pork loin, and homemade banana bread. There was local honey with lavender, homemade marmalade, nuts, and all of it was topped by decorative fresh flowers and herbs. OhMyGawd. All of it was delicious, and the two-year old in the group was just as enthused as the 65-year old. They just earned my support, and I'll be back for far more than a cheese board going forward. My husband and I were so excited when we came back to Mosley's after the new owner, Scott, reopened this little gem of a cafe! The menu has been updated since the reopening and the food is amazingly delicious! I usually get the tuna melt with extra pickles and extra cheese, and it is so yummy! I recently changed my "usual" order and had the grilled ham and cheese and it was one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've had in a long time; it is perfectly grilled on both sides, and the cheese is melted just right! I've also had the white bean hummus with grilled veggies sandwich (it can also be made open faced on toast), and it is pretty tasty, too! While we wait for our order to be prepared, we always start with one of Scott's creatively unique homemade muffins, breads or scones (gluten free scones are available, too), with a French press coffee for my husband and drip coffee for me. We look forward to our weekly visits, enjoying the deliciousness of whatever we order, accompanied by the great, serene view, and the delightful conversations with Scott, John, and Shari! I most definitely recommend Mosley's if you've not been here since Scott reopened it in June, 2020! PS: you have to try the homemade brownies, too! This is a hidden gem. Mosey's is the BEST cafe in all of Alameda. The best!! Their breakfast, lunch and coffee is so GOOD. I've had the pleasure of enjoying many items from their menu and can truly say that I've loved it all. Everything is made to order with high quality ingredients. Aside from delicious food, there is plenty of outdoor seating so you can also get to enjoy a scenic view of the harbor. I would highly recommend getting their Iced french vanilla coffee. I absolutely love Mosley's Café. They have a great view of the Oakland estuary right near the grand Marina. The people here are so friendly and make great food. My latte was exceptional and mom had a croissant with avocado that was absolutely delicious. If you haven't been to Moseley's Café you were definitely missing out. Scott and John run the epitome of a friendly neighborhood cafe which also happens to have amazing food and the best view in Alameda. Come early for Scott's homemade scones because they go fast. The fruit-filled oatmeal is perfect and my husband is in love with the grilled cheese. Weekend brunch with a mimosa or beer is a great way to treat yourself. Been coming here for years and I'm so glad it's back open. I always get a tuna melt with avocado on a croissant. The croissant is buttery and flaky and a perfect complement to the fresh ingredients they use for the melt. I've always had exceptional customer service every time I come here. The kitchen is small so it usually takes a while for my food to be ready but it's worth the wait. It does get a little chilly if you sit right on the bar top next to the water but there's also some tables with seating at the nearby park if you want to sit in the sun. read more

It's tucked away on the shoreline with the nearest parking being a block away, but a great cafe to stop in at if you're walking in the area. Only a couple indoor seats, but several tables outside. The tables are small due to the space limitations, but the wifi worked fine and allowed me to be productive for an hour. They also had a decent looking menu for lunch items, but didn't try anything from there. read more

I paid $12 for a fairly small, no frills tuna melt that came with 1 (seriously, just 1) baby carrot. The tuna was tasty but the sandwich itself was barely toasted. The drip coffee was just okay, nothing special. My friend ordered an $8. slice of quiche, also fairly small, which came with 1 strawberry and 2 cherries. So, nice place to have a latte and a scone but you don't get much in the way of lunch food. read more

You get to "Zen out" looking out at the water (faces Coast Guard Island). This is a small business, woman owned, local run, outdoor cafe, on the water. Not a fancy sit down restaurant. If you want that, then by all means paid more for poor quality food, get frustrated with traffic and parking and go to Jack London Square or Berkeley Marina.
