Started with an inexperienced waitress. A bad cork on a 200 dollar bottle of wine and sat in a room during Covid with a party of six and 5 respectively while the main room was empty. After I made management aware this was not going well, the service picked up, but I think this chain outpost of Morton's needs to do better. read more

Excellent Food and Fawning Service with a flawed Reservation System We decided to have an upscale steak dinner so left home on Prospect Avenue and headed to Morton's at 6pm on a Sunday. We arrived around 6:30 and were asked about reservations (the restaurant had to be 75% empty at that moment based on my observation). Not having a reservation we were told that we could be seated at 8:45 pm or dine at or near the bar...(wtf?!). I asked to think about it while using their restroom. Went on Yelp to make a reservation (which takes you directly to the Morton's website) for 7pm and the app declined saying the only thing available was for 6:45 (bingo, or so I thought). Went back to the maitre d's reception area, asked for a manager and asked if they had our reservation. "Nope". Was asked for a confirmation - which I showed and was admonished "we no longer use that service for reservations, next time use open table, I'll do you a favor this time and accommodate you." Never mind that the reservation was made on THEIR website (eyes rolling). Otherwise the food was excellent, wine list outstanding, service professional but nearly obsequious. Dinner for 2 with appetizers, wine, desert, tax and a tip = $300.00 Can't wait for Ruth's Chris to open in the Bergen Town Center (although parking will be a nightmare there...) Morty could use some competition and a crash course in customer service/etiquette. read more

This restaurant is the most overrated and overpriced establishment I've ever been to. The shrimp cocktail is 25 dollars and they give you 3 medium sized shrimp which were chewy. On the Power Hour menu, we had the lamb chops which were small and they give you only 2. The Wagyu filet was just okay, nothing special. Also, for the first time in my life, I had the lobster mac and cheese which was so spicy it wasn't even edible. To make things worse, they have the nerve to charge 8.50/7.50 for a bottle of domestic beer. The only positives were; the music was good and the bar service was also good. I advise to avoid this total ripoff place! read more

My boyfriend and I dined in for dinner on New Year's Eve. The hostess section was a bit chaotic upon entering. Many people were standing in the hostess section waiting to pick up takeout orders or be seated. After giving our reservation name we were seated immediately. Our server Diane was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She was so sweet and made our night so special. Definitely would ask for her next time I come! read more

My first time at Morton's was an out of body celestial experience. I've always heard great things, and my expectations were set fairly high given what I knew about their prestige along with their pricing but wow my expectations were blown out of the water. I'd argue that they have the best apps and sides of any steakhouse I've ever been too, which is quite a few might I add. The bacon wrapped scallops is hands down the single best appetizer I've ever consumed in my entire life. I could probably put up a decent fight against Joey Chestnut if there were ever a Morton's scallop-off. Their fries and creamed spinach also infringe upon g.o.a.t. status and my steak was absolutely delectable as well. If I had to just nitpick one thing that would otherwise prevent me from moving in and rent out a space in the supply closet is that the ambiance was a bit droll. Very dark and dingy, almost like you're in a frat basement; and once you walk out of the exit and into the mall you're immediately blinded by the light because you've just been staring into a dark abyss for the duration of your meal. But other than that, the food was absolutely incredible practically life changing and if I ever win the powerball this is where im hosting my celebration. read more

I went here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. This was my first time coming and I was beyond surprised with everything. Amber was our waitress and was so nice and caring! She made my first time and my boyfriends birthday special. She remembered our names, gave us extra truffle butter sauce, icrream, and a WHOLE NEW fresh loaf of bread to take home. The service was fast and everything tastes unbelievably amazing. We got a pinapple drink and a hibiscus drink and both were great! The hibiscus was a bit strong but still good. For appys we got the bacon and mushrooms both amazing. For entree we had Cajun ribeye and bone in ribeye with truffle butter sauce and both steaks were sooooooo yummy. For dessert we got the signature sundae and bread pudding. Both of them were so delicious. Morton's made my boyfriends birthday by having a custom happy birthday on the top of our menus, taking a picture and writing happy birthday, and lighting a candle for him. I would 100% go back again but also sign up for their rewards card! It's so worth it! Thank you Amber for such a wonderful experience! read more

I came here with my Aunt, Uncle and brother during the holiday season. My Uncle claims their Porterhouse is amazing. It's a wet aged bone with the filet mignon one side and NY strip on the other. Not going to lie I was a bit skeptical. My brother dove in and took his first bite and immediately claimed it was the best steak he ever had. I went in for my first bite and it was delicious. Times like these I wonder if I could ever live a vegan life.. le sigh. Steak was amazing. Service was perfect. Ambiance was low lit with beautiful chandeliers and lighting. If I were to come back I would order the Porterhouse again hands down. Drenched in Au Jus sauce it was delectable. read more

The place calls for a formal wear and is nicely lit. I like their choices of Steak, Sides and Desserts. We were informed of all the best options to pick, A+ to the nice fine lady having to memorize of all of those items. Nice place to spend time with family and friends. I don't think you'll go wrong with whatever you choose to order, not too nice for your wallet though. read more

This is my third time coming to this Morton steakhouse location. The first two time were amazing. I decided to take my wife here for a date. We ordered two bone in ribeyes with truffle fries, creamed spinach, and sautéd mushrooms. It tasted really good going down but within 10 minutes of leaving, we both had stomach pains. We had to cancel our dessert plans and couples massage. We went straight home and my wife couldn't get off the couch from the pain and I ended the night on toilet. read more

THIS PLACE IS 5 STAR!!! The food was great the meat was juicy, tender, it was mouth watering when they brought the steak towards you. The desert was one of the best creme brûlées I have ever had. read more

We went tonight for my husband's birthday dinner. What a special night. They had a menu printed with Happy Birthday with his name on the menu. A picture and dessert. Our meal was absolutely delicious. This is our second time visiting this location. Our waiter was wonderful, manager and all the staff. I had the 8 oz filet, my husband had the 22 oz bone in rib eye, onion soup to start, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Food was cooked and served perfectly. This is our favorite place! read more

Celebrated my husband's birthday tonight. Took advantage of the Valentine's special; NY strip steak for two, twin lobster tails, choice of 3 salads, choice of several sides for which you got 2 and dessert. The servings were ample and we were able to bring some home. The service was impeccable. Our server, Julio, was knowledgeable and friendly. Joe,the manager, stopped by our table to congratulate my husband and shared some personal stories. We had an incredible experience and would recommend everyone to enjoy a spectacular meal. Wonderful classy place with amazing service and even better food. Whenever you walk in the atmosphere is comforting and warm to get you right in the mood for your meal. Everyone who works there makes you feel like family and it will definitely be a place you want to come back to. The steak and burgers (HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BURGERS) are really juicy and flavorful with any side you choose. The double pork chop is probably the biggest and most tender you will ever have. And when you sit down you are always greeted with a big, warm loaf of onion bread and whipped butter. Anything you get here is going to be a win and it amazing for any special occasions! read more

We have spend many celebrations at Morton's. Unfortunately the confusion at the restaurant is clear. The elevator upstairs smelt like vomit and the carpet both have in the elevator and throughout the restaurant was disgusting. The restrooms were atrocious. Paper everywhere and smelt like urine. Stopped by Morton's for a drink and some bites before a movie at the AMC. Unfortunately, we got to Morton's 15 minutes after they stopped the happy hour. So this place like most steakhouses is on the expensive side of things. Which is never really a problem for me personally, but the people might like to know. To pair with my martini, I ordered the bite sized wedge salads which were topped with egg, bacon bits and blue cheese. I love a good wedge, and this was a fun play on the wedge salad. Loved it. I also got the Filet mignon trio, but instead of the normal sauce au poivre, béarnaise and blue cheese butter, I got all three topped with the blue cheese butter. Meat cooked perfectly, and yes small, but delicious. Both dishes were great, and enjoyed every bite. Morton's a great steak spot for sure. read more

I have been going to Morton's all over the country, NY and NJ locations most recently, and it was always for a special occasion...birthday, etc. You expect the best food and service, and we did get the excellent food, but the Hackensack, NJ should take a tip from the customer service end of running a restaurant. Saturday night, reservations made for a birthday and they had a 60 person private party going on in the other room. The kitchen and servers were split between regular customers and this private event. First off, if you have a 60 person private event - you know they're coming ahead of time. I realize you're making $1000s on this private party, but everyone is paying a premium for your location and dining there. Please, arrange to have extra kitchen staff and extra servers for this event, otherwise what happens is that all of the customers suffer with slow serving times, waiting for their drinks, appetizers coming late, and just overall a long wait time if one required additional items or changes. We were just disappointed that management didn't plan for this properly and didn't offer to make it better in any way either. I have been a Landry's select customer for over 10 years. read more

This was our 1st time trying Morton's and we were very underwhelmed. The service was good, the atmosphere was ok but the food was HORRIBLE. We ordered the Cajun ribeyes and they had absolutely no seasoning at all and to make matters worse they burnt them. We could tell the quality of the steaks was bad because they were mostly fat. Our creamed spinach was bland and our baked potatoes were very over cooked. We were expecting the food to be top notch especially at this price point. We were very disappointed. They definitely need to hire better cooks at this location! read more

Morton's was always a go to for me. Morton's in Hackensack has brought me back! My last experience at Morton's was in DC and the restaurant was closed it was so bad. Last night put's that back atop my list! The staff is exemplary. They even went out of their way to recognize my anniversary with my wife which I hadn't noted on our reservation. Part of me wants to scream data privacy but a much bigger part loved the smile on my wife's face. The food was fantastic, our wait staff was perfect and I am happy to consider Morton's my top of list go to, displacing Capital Grille after a good 8 year run! Keep it up! read more

We came here for my brother in laws birthday last night. Our waitress was very nice and attentive as well as the rest of the staff. Unfortunately we were not impressed with our steaks. They had no flavor whatsoever. My husband took some of his brothers truffle butter to try and help but it was still bland. Also my husbands medium rare steak was almost rare. The middle was completely cold. For a 65$ steak, the quality is completely lacking. We also ordered coffee and dessert and the coffee came out 10 minutes before the dessert. Coffee was also cold. I feel like we totally wasted our money. Definitely not worth the price compared to other steakhouses. read more

Staff is very attentive, ambiance was very nice- so much time and attention to detail was paid making sure the restaurant was extremely comfortable & soothing, decor was beautiful, noise level was not too high. Over all great experience and I will be back! Food wise- I'm a pescatarian so I had the scallops and they were so good! From the presentation to the taste- amazing!! We came here to celebrate my father's birthday and the experience fell kind of flat with some hit or miss dishes. I guess they no longer put the personalized menus wishing him a happy birthday in the menu, and instead he was handed a rolls of four menus. They took a framed photo of us which was super nice! The truffle fries were delicious. As was the creme brule. My sea bass, which a good portion and cooked perfectly, lacked any kind of flavor. Miso marinated was far from what I tasted. The bok choy they added was also dried out. All the steaks were cooked perfectly, which I know is not an easy feat. The filet mignon was tender, but my husband was completely disappointed with his bone in rib eye, especially given the last amazing experience we had. He cited the burner not being high enough to have the fat melt into the steak itself, causing the steak to also be rubbery and flavorless. In fairness, It's not something we addressed with our server, because how do you say that this steak is cooked terribly? For these prices, we were expecting quality perfection. read more

Meh! Not a fan. First we had to listen to at least five minutes of menu options dictated by a waitress. Why not put out a special menu instead? It was annoying. I had sea bass that was pretty bland. I have eaten at the Palm in NYC and had the same dish and not only did it taste better but it was twice the size for the same price Side of fries and spinach/mushroom combo were decent. I felt like our private conversations were constantly being interrupted by a waitress scraping crumbs off the table, or several people asking us if everything was okay. Atmosphere is nice but with an empty restaurant we also wound up right next to a noisy group. I don't mind paying those prices if the food was worthy. read more

Morton's... Some Morton's locations are better than others. I've eaten at countless Morton's restaurants while on business trips entertaining customers. The Mortons at Riverside Mall is MY local Mortons, and it's where I go when I want a perfectly cooked filet mignon with a service staff that really (yes really) cares. I have eaten at this location at least 100 times for both personal and business dinners. I only order steak at steakhouses, not in any other type of restaurant. I cook an outstanding steak at home and my rule is: 'If I can cook it better, why eat out?' Morton's delivers. My filet mignon cut has always been of outstanding quality and cooked perfectly (and if by chance it is not what you were expecting they will be quick to remedy the situation with a new steak). I have never heard a complaint about food from anyone in my dinner party when eating here. Once I was having dinner here with my mother when she noticed her spoon was dirty (just a few water spots nothing crazy). My mother is not one to complain about anything but she mentioned it to me, so I made mention of it to the maître d. I figured he would replace the spoon and maybe give me a discount at the end of the meal. Fast-forward to the end of the meal - I will not mention on yelp exactly what he did to compensate, but trust me it was WAY above my expectations. Outstanding service with a staff that cares, like I said. A reviewer below me used the word "fine" to describe the food, the service, and the atmosphere. 'Fine' is not a word that should be used to describe this place. Pay them a visit and let your taste buds be the judge. I count myself blessed to have this Morton's location so local to my home. Sure, It is not Peter Luger's, but I also do not need to drive to Brooklyn to eat dinner. Apples to oranges. There are other options in the area, but Morton's is my favorite. read more

Morton's The Steakhouse - The sliders are very tasty if you are at the bar looking for bar food - Steakhouses Near Me - Hackensack, New Jersey

This place wasn't my first choice for a birthday dinner for my brother and me. In fact, my brother and I had written this place off. However, with nearby Houston's raising their prices since my last visit many years ago and the fact my mom had a 10% discount for Landry's restaurants, Morton's was suddenly on the radar again. I'm REALLY glad we ultimately decided to go here. We opted for the booth (I have no idea who prefers a chair over a booth). The hostess brought us over and PULLED THE WHOLE FRICKIN' TABLE OUT in order for us to get in the booth easier. The egg and onion bread is delicious on its own, but add a red wine-bacon reduction and whipped butter, you all of a sudden have a top 3 complimentary bread offering. For dinner, I went with the 24 oz porterhouse medium rare - my go-to steak. Great color inside and out. Perfectly pink running all the way to the edge. Great flavor. Maybe a bit too much butter for my taste. We also went for the Lyonnaise potatoes and the sauteed Brussels sprouts, because bacon. The potatoes were nice and crispy with a lot of sauteed onions. I usually don't like crispy potatoes with my steak (I usually get mashed or baked potatoes), but the onion really complemented the steak very well. Brussels sprouts were softened just enough, but I would have liked more caramelization and darker green colors. Nonetheless, we devoured them. The dessert was amazing. The make the lava cake to order. You have to let them know in advance. Texture was perfect. Inside was a delicious chocolate molten. Outside was a slightly crispy cake. Again. Amazing. Ice cream was also excellent and provided a good counterpoint. Besides from the hostess pulling the entire table out, the staff was really nice and had pretty good timing. I would have liked for them to clean the table of bread crumbs a little earlier (they only did so when taking the bread plates away). We also had to flag down the waitress to take our picture even though she said she was going to take our picture with their camera. The dessert had come out and the candles started dripping wax. The biggest surprise and the icing on the cake were the customized cards they had made with the photo they took with their camera. It was a really nice touch. The thought and the execution were terrific. Whoever wrote the card did an exceptional job. They even comped both desserts. This really swayed me into my 5 star decision. read more

Steaks are mediocre and definitely not prime. Their best dish is the horseradish mashed potatoes. Dollar slider day consists of small pieces of meat on a potato bun you could buy at shop rite. Bar menu is a little better; really enjoyed the short rib tacos. Tuna tacos were gross and the fish tasted old. This mall has better dining options and this spot is always at the bottom of my list. Morton's The Steakhouse - Steakhouses Near Me - Hackensack, New Jersey

I am often described as a frugal girl. I like to seek out deals and not overspend. That being said: Morton's is a rather expensive steakhouse. So this is not a place I would usually find myself. However, I received two $50 gift certificates to Morton's over the course of a couple years, and a snafu at the local movie theater led me to a consolatory dinner with my friend. We arrived at 7:30pm on a Thursday. The restaurant was empty, only a few tables were filled. We were led to our booth and the hostess pulled the table out so we could snuggle in the back of the booth. The waitress came over and welcomed me by name (I had made a last minute reservation, not knowing how busy the restaurant would be, so I think that's how they knew my name). She asked if we were celebrating anything and I said no, just had a few gift cards to use. She explained the menu and highlighted her favorite parts. She was a little hard to understand at times, as she had a pretty thick accent, but she pointed to whatever she was speaking about so even though I couldn't understand some of the praise, I knew it was positive. I opted not to drink this meal and instead focused on the food. We did opt for the fancy bottled still water instead of tap ($9.75 and it's only one bottle, not bottomless like most 'charge you for water' places I've been to before.) The bread and butter you get is heavenly and enormous. It's a large loaf with onion crunchies on top and the butter is whipped and salty and light. Although I tried not to fill up on bread because of the meal I was planning on having, I wound up housing half the loaf, anyway. The side dishes are large enough to share, as the menu boasts. My friend and I opted to split the sour cream mashed potatoes ($13). They were good, a smaller portion than I was expecting, to be honest. My friend got the 12oz filet mignon ($53) and I got the 8oz ($48), both in medium. When the steaks came out, my friend asked for steak sauce and they had two options: A1 or Heinz 57. He went for the A1. I didn't want any sauce, but the waitress brought over a sauce most people like with their filet, for me to try. She described it as "butter and egg sauce." I put a little on my plate and tried it with my steak, but it also had horseradish or something spicy and I really just wanted to taste the meat. I thanked her but didn't use the sauce. The steaks were PERFECT. So good, so juicy, so tasty. They were cooked perfectly. When I order a 50 dollar steak, I want it to be perfect. I am pleased to say it was. I must admit, I was a little afraid when the meal came out that there wouldn't be enough food. I was hungry and everything looked small. At the end, however, I was so full and sated and it was perfect. The only things keeping this from a 5 star is the price, the server's thick accent that I couldn't really understand (she was a great server, but if you're going to go over the menu in detail, it's hard to have a server with an accent), and the non-bottomless bottle of still water. This is definitely a date restaurant, anniversary spot. So much so that they ask you if you're celebrating anything when you arrive. Be prepared to empty your wallet, unless you have gift cards like I did. :) read more

My partner and I like Steak Houses and this Morton's delivers. The food is always good but the service is always great. The manager Joe has cultivated a staff that excels. I like to start with the Shrimp Alexander and sometimes the chopped salad, then the petite filet with the garlic mash, the cauliflower mash or the asparagus. My only dislike is that they put nutmeg in their creamed spinach, but that's a personal preference. I rarely get dessert because I'm so full because the food is good. It's also nice to eat in the bar if you're alone or a small party. Morton's has great happy hour specials in the bar too. They're available ALL day Sunday. So go. Enjoy wonderful food and excellent service. Definitely one of the better chain restaurants around. read more

The Story: This is the 2nd time I've visited this establishment - my brother made reservations for my birthday Friday night and when we showed up they had custom printed menu's with my name on it! They also took a photo of me and my brother and mounted on a Morton's postcard. Food: We ordered the chilled platter of seafood - everything was fresh, the crabcake (so far the BEST crabcake I've had), the porter house - which melted in my mouth, bone in ribeye - so fatty (in a good way). I actually regretted not getting the souffle =( Price: This place is expensive. But definitely worth it. Decor: The room is kinda dimmed and I'm kinda blind so I couldn't see very well. I think their booths are kinda annoying as I have to either move the table out or slide out (very hard when I'm wearing a nice dress) but we were sat by the kitchen which is always a nice view to have while dining. Service: Our server is excellent. The problem I have with expensive places is usually the waiter doesn't take us seriously (assuming we won't order a lot, tips bad, etc) No complains there. The staff made my birthday dinner very special. Parking & Finding the Place: This place is located in the River Side Square Mall - they have valet parking but there is more than enough parking spots in this mall to park the call yourself. read more
