I had been to this Morton's location a few times over the past several years, so I was surprised to see that I had yet to write a review of it. The dimly lit, classic steakhouse vibe was apparent from the moment you entered their second-floor lobby. (There was an elevator, if needed.) The host greeted us with a friendly demeanor and allowed us to either wait for our friends in the foyer or get our seats. We decided to have him take us to our table, which had been decorated with a "Happy Birthday" note and star confetti for one of our friends. It was a small detail that went a long way into making us feel welcome. Our server was similarly delightful. We were quickly served a large, round loaf of onion bread that was warm, fluffy, and flavorful. I paired my slice with a Morton's Spicy Margarita made with Herradura Reposado Tequila, Grand Marnier, and lime. It was strong, sweet, and had a decent kick. The bread was so good that we passed on appetizers, though we made sure to save room for dessert. In the meantime, I enjoyed my 8-ounce Filet Mignon, which had a delightful, seasoned crust, though was cooked slightly over my requested medium. I also ordered the Sautéed Spinach and Button Mushrooms side dish, which was a hearty, earthy blend that I really liked as a duo. Then it came time for a sweet ending to the evening, and I jumped at the chance to try their house‑made carrot cake, which was only available for a limited time. The slice arrived, and it was massive, so I encouraged my companions to each take several forkfuls. The large layer cake was topped with a rich cream cheese icing and sprinkled with coconut, walnuts, and freshly whipped cream. The cake was light and fluffy, and the frosting was surprisingly not too sweet; it was phenomenal! I would only hope that they would add it to the menu permanently. Our experience at Morton's was a bit of a mixed bag. The dark, somewhat dirty stairs leading up to the restaurant weren't a great first impression, and the restaurant itself was extremely dark. On this particular night, the overall atmosphere and clientele also didn't quite match the upscale, high-end vibe the restaurant seems to be going for. Service was excellent overall, although there was a pretty significant lag after our appetizers, and I was never asked if I wanted another glass of wine. The food, however, was very good. Everyone's steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, and the salmon was excellent. The standout of the meal was the crispy rice appetizer- it was outstanding. The flavors worked perfectly together, and the bacon on top was amazing. I would order that again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, my biggest issue was with food handling. The kitchen is partially visible through a window, so diners can watch the chefs preparing food. I watched one chef take several drinks from his water cup at his station, handling the top of the cup with his gloved hands, and then continue working without changing his gloves. Later, I saw the same chef handling and scrolling on his phone while wearing the SAME gloves and again continue working without changing them. It was honestly gross to watch, particularly in a restaurant at this price point. The food itself was easily the strongest part of the experience, but between the atmosphere, some service timing issues, and especially what I observed in the kitchen, I can't give our visit more than three stars. read more

Came here for the Happy Hour. There's a good selection of beers/ cocktails and food selection. All of the food is cooked well and at a decent price point. My favorite is the Petite filet mignon slider cooked perfectly to medium rare and the short rib tacos. The fried chicken sandwich is not my favorite since its a bit dry. 12/25/25: Lovely Christmas lunch at Morton's Steakhouse again! Upon entry, you can either take an elevator or walk 3 short flights into the restaurant. The ambience is all dark wood. However, the restaurant was decorated beautifully with understated holiday lights . Our wonderful server just happened to be Brendan again. We were given tap water along with the most yummy onion bread with butter. -Cocktails- Beer and Red Blend (Lion Tamer- Napa Valley) 6oz. $28. The wine was delish. -Starters- Bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops were so succulent. My only complaint was the wrapped bacon was a little raw for my taste. -Entrees- 2- 8 ounce filet mignon's( $59 each) perfectly cooked medium, truffle butter $6 and a super yummy large baked potato with sour cream and butter. : ) The restaurant isn't cheap, but you get you pay for at Morton's. I came to Morton's The Steakhouse for the Veuve Clicquot special -- sliders, fries, and a glass of champagne. TikTok definitely influenced this visit . I went with two friends, ordered happy hour drinks first, then placed the special. Unfortunately, we waited over an hour for the food. What made it more frustrating was watching tables around us who ordered after we did receive their food before us. By the time it finally came, I honestly wasn't even interested anymore. I will say this: the bartender noticed the issue, genuinely apologized, and took $58 off the bill, which I appreciated. That gesture helped, but the long wait really took away from the experience. The food itself wasn't bad, but after waiting that long, I could've lived without the meal. I've been coming here for years, but unfortunately this experience has left me very disappointed, and I don't plan on returning. I came in for smash burgers and a drink. I originally ordered the Lavender Cosmo with gin, but I didn't care for the taste. To the bartender's credit, he was very sweet and accommodating and offered to make me something else if I didn't like it. I then tried a Lemon Drop, but unfortunately they use a lemon liquor that gave the drink a medicinal taste. I ended up going back to the Lavender Cosmo, this time with vodka, and it was delicious. The problem came when I received the bill. I was charged an additional $5.50 for switching the liquor from gin to vodka. I questioned the bartender because the original drink was $17, and there was an additional $3 charge on top of the $19.50 price. He explained that the system automatically charges this way when changing the liquor. I've been coming here for years and have never been charged an additional $5.50 simply for switching from gin to vodka. If there is an upcharge, it should be clearly communicated to the customer before making the drink--not something you discover when the bill arrives. What made the experience worse was hearing the manager, Joe, comment, "Oh, she didn't like this drink too," while the bartender explained what I was questioning. The manager Joe apparently has been around for years, and unfortunately, this interaction reinforced my impression that there is very little effort made to acknowledge or resolve customer concerns. There was no apology, no attempt to explain the charge in a customer-friendly way, and no effort to make an already frustrating situation right. Good restaurants like Houston's understand that customer service is about more than just following what the computer system says. Sometimes it's about listening, showing courtesy, and making the customer feel valued--especially a customer who has been coming in for years. The bartender was genuinely kind and handled the situation professionally, but management completely missed the opportunity to turn a frustrating experience into a positive one. We visited Morton's for happy hour and it was a fabulous time! The Maxwell cocktails were tasty, the bar food menu was great.. the chicken sliders with the giardiniera spread were so good, onion rings crispy and yummy, and we ordered a fantastic seafood tower and the shrimp and lobster cocktail off of the main menu all just excellent! Not pictured were also terrific waygu smash burger sliders and a filet we took home! All in all such a great experience we will definitely be back! Came back to Morton's for a second time 4 years after my first review I think? Had to see if the steak was still consistent lol! Couple things on why I'm updated my review from 5 to 4 stars. First off, the steak was still 10/10, perfect cook, perfect flavor so if you're coming for steak I still recommend! Now as for the sides. Initially on my first visit, I couldn't stop raving about the bread. The first round we got was so incredibly stale. It put me off, however I asked the server for a new one and they brought it out no problem and it was perfect. The lobster Mac and cheese was still delicious as ever. I felt like the potatoes in the au gratin were under cooked. They were still very hard in my opinion? And lastly the creamed spinach. The creamed spinach had this super deep, smoky almost burnt flavor, and I definitely don't remember it being like that the first time we had it. Hard to believe it took a meathead like me decades to finally try a Morton's for a change. Well I finally did and chose this location at Riverside Mall on a crowded Saturday night, no less. The ambiance as you'd expect was dark and retro vibe with a distinctively older crowd. Not sure if that's a thing with this chain but regardless the place was pretty packed. We ordered the strip steak to share for the family and a bunch of sides. Overall the experience was good though the steak portions were actually slightly smaller than I expected, especially for the sharing size level stuff. The service was fine, though it took a bit of effort to find our server during the evening. It was a busy night so I suppose it's because of volume more than anything else. The highlight of the meal for me though was actually the hot chocolate cake dessert. I wolfed that thing down in like 3 minutes lol. Very decadent and delicious. Mortonis were so good served with blue cheese olives. The giant loaf of steaming hot bread served with soft butter was a great way to start off our dinner. I'm a fan of Morton's. I've dined here 3-4 times, mainly for special occasions or holidays, and have always left with a happy belly. It's a steakhouse with an a la carte menu, so expect to splurge $$$. The ambiance is upscale with very dim lighting. Servers actually care about your experience, which is a plus. The steaks aren't the best I've ever had, but they're still pretty damn good. They have many options for every taste and budget. I recently visited on July 7 to try their Fourth of July special, $139 for two people. From a limited menu, we were able to choose: 2 cocktails, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees + 2 butter or sauce enhancements, 2 sides, and 1 dessert. What a steal! By the time we finished our dinner, we were stuffed with all of the deliciousness. More details about the food... The complimentary onion bread is addicting! Be careful though.... It's so easy to get full off of it lol. Cocktails 5/5: We ordered the Yuzu Spritz and Lemon Drop martini. Both were refreshing. I recommend to those who prefer alcoholic cocktails with a fruity or tarty profile. Appetizers 5/5: The French onion soups (half sized) were perfection!!! Sweet and savory. Entrees 4/5: I ordered the 6 oz. filet mignon (medium) with black truffle butter. I was soooo pleased to see the pink color when I cut my steak. It was juicy with pops of flavor in every bite. I really didn't need the black truffle butter as a flavor enhancement because the steak was delicious on its own. Sides 4/5: The mashed potatoes were just okay, a bit on the bland side. The onion rings, on the other hand...WERE INCREDIBLE!!! I never thought I would go crazy for onion rings. They were thick-cut and crispy... the onions were sweet and fresh. Dessert 5/5: OMG.... I came here for my 6 year anniversary and they made sure to give us a very special evening. Morton's is located inside the Riverside Mall in Hackensack. As soon as you walked in you felt immersed in the fine dining experience that they offered. The waiter was extremely respectful, knowledgeable, and attentive which I appreciated fully. I failed to capture images from earlier in the evening because I was too busy dreaming about the main meal. To start we had the new Wagyu Dumplings, they were packed with flavor and had a beautiful semi steam-fried exterior too. Onto our main meals, I had the Prime Cajun Ribeye and it was extremely juicy and filled with the cajun seasoning, it was marinated for 48 hours as well. Our other entree was a Prime Dry Aged Ribeye but I'm not sure how long it aged for. We shared them but honestly couldn't tell which we preferred more, they both were delicious. Our dessert was on the house because of our anniversary dinner and we didn't expect that, so it was a very pleasant surprise. Can't say much about the dessert that others already haven't, it is their signature dessert for a reason, and they showed it to us too. The question is how good is the steak? Well for me it was really delicious, great seasoning, hot, well cooked. Honestly I really loved it. So why three stars? The atmosphere, the waiter and the wait with a reservation. The restaurant was so incredibly loud my husband and I literally couldn't talk across the table, when we tried we were yelling and it was ridiculous. My ears actually hurt when we left. The amount of people, that had reservations , that were waiting was shocking. The entire front area was filled and there were people waiting at the bar as well. If I make a reservation I think it's fair to be seated within 15-20 mins maximum from the time of reservation. Our waiter who had to yell at us to be heard, told us he was working eight straight days. Why? I don't know. He was frantically running around, he was hard to get a hold of. When offered us free desert we were about to order it and then he specified he was buying us 1, one dessert. We were a bit taken aback. It was nice to offer, and we enjoyed our one dessert but it felt a bit odd. Then as we were leaving he said, "next time I'll buy you a round of drinks", we thought, really? How bizarre. Oysters on the 1/2 shell ($25, APP, 4/5) - Decent sized fresh oysters with classic mignonette and cocktail sauce. They gave us this cute little tabasco too except it was dang difficult to open! Great start to get those stomach juices going! Morton's Iceberg Wedge ($15, SALAD, 5/5) - We really enjoyed their wedge though normally we're not a huge fan. Lots of fresh crunch that's nicely paired with pickled onion, right amount of bacon & blue cheese crumbles. Refreshing & great - save for the main dish because it will help cut down the heaviness of the steak! Sangria - Made using Maker's Mark bourbon. Too strong - they took it off the bill as I couldn't really enjoy it. Prime Ribeye 16 oz. ($68, MAIN, 3/5) - Unfortunately, first go-around came too salty. The crust was overpowering with salt and even the inside was too salty that it was inedible. We really hated doing it but had to send it back. The waitress was more than understanding, stating they want us to enjoy the meal, and within 10 min brought out new steak which was done perfectly. The Cognac Sauce Au Poivre I added was all peppercorn... like, actual fully intact balls of peppercorn in every bite. It was a bit too much and they also took it off the bill. A surprising miss. Filet Mignon 12 oz. ($64, MAIN, 4/5) - This was a bit tough, and they also re-did it medium and Morton's steakhouse sauce was pretty decent though a bit on the sweeter side. "The Troy" ($13, SIDES, 5/5) - This medley of sautéed onions & mushrooms were super delicious! While we were waiting for our steak, our server gave us new one since it got cold. A nice gesture. Sticky Toffee Pudding (?, DESSERT, 4/5) - Delicious a la mode! They put a candle on it and took picture of us. Copious amount of caramel to tickle your senses. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal although that miss with the steak did cost us a good 30 min and I felt was really a missed opportunity for such a high-end steakhouse. I'm all about the side dishes when I go to a steakhouse that's why I'm rating Morton's 3.5. The onion bread they start you with is so DELICIOUS! For appetizers the shrimp cocktail was excellent, but the Caesar salad was Terrible! They need to make a better Caesar dressing. For main courses we had filet mignon, a lobster tail, and Chilean sea bass. All were excellent! For side dishes we had the creamed corn, fries, and lobster Mac and cheese. The creamed corn was HORRIBLE! It wasn't creamy at all, and the corn was all chopped up in this awful tasting liquid! The lobster Mac and cheese was bland and had no cheese flavor! The fries were ok, but needed more seasoning. They were too thin for taste. Last year we had a corn casserole that was good, but this year it was replaced by the creamed corn. For dessert we had the carrot cake that's was FANTASTIC! It was the best carrot cake we ever had! The upside apple pie was very good! Last year we had the sticky toffee pudding which was also excellent, but the cheesecake was just ok. Our waitress Dianne was excellent. Honestly my husband and I love steak, we came here because we had a gift card. The waitress was not very kind and the service was generally not good at all. I visited on a Monday night with a few of my girlfriends. We had a reservation for 5 people at 7:15pm to celebrate 2 birthdays. We weren't able to be seated until our entire party was there so we hung out by the bar until everyone arrived. Our waiter, Alejandro, was great. He was very personable and attentive. Upon introducing himself, he asked who's birthday we were celebrating. Our menus said "Happy Birthday from Morton's the Steakhouse". After we ordered everything, they rolled up the menus and tied it nicely with silver ribbon. As we were eating, Alejandro asked to take a picture of us. At the end, we all received a nice card with their logo in front and the inside had "Happy Birthday" handwritten with the photo we had taken in black and white. Super cute details! For appetizer, we ordered the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella and the SRF wagyu meatballs. The prosciutto came with a small salad and a balsamic vinegarette. Alejandro informed us the prosciutto only came with 3 pieces and offered us the option to add more so we added 1 more since 1 person in our party did not want one. The appetizers were amazing!! ordered the cajun ribeye steak which I really enjoyed. We ordered 3 sides for the table: sour cream mashed potatoes, matchstick parmesan and truffle fries, and macaroni and cheese (it's typically lobster mac & cheese but we modified it). This place has been around forever and this was my first time there! We went with another couple after a movie. We sat at a high top near the bar. It was already 9pm so we didn't want to eat too much. I ordered the wedge salad & the sliders. My husband had French Onion soup and petit filet sliders. The salad was delicious and HUGE! I took more than half home. The sliders were juicy and delicious! I also took half home. I wish they came with fries though. The service was good but there were a few hiccups along the way. We don't believe and it is our opinion, we were not served Filet Mignon, but instead Top Sirloin. It did not have the tenderness of Filet Mignon or the same flavor. Well the appetizers (and the bread lol ) were quite good..My mother and I each had the filet mignon...Hers was terribly undercooked and mine was terribly overcooked ..And I mean BAD (I ordered medium rare) ...it was dry, WAY overcooked and just lacked flavor I was pretty shocked that a 75 dollar piece of meat would be served like that...My wife had Salmon and rated it 'competant' ...Yes the staff tried to 'make it right' (again staff was great ) but i was just 'over it' by then ...Yeah hard for me to justify a return to this location being the River Palm in edgewater did a much better job the last few times I was there ..the new LaNoma right here in fort Lee is also dynamite...so yeah, nice place , nice people , food fell way short in our opinion. read more

to start their food is low quality. the steak tasted like meatloaf with no flavor. the appetizers were ok, nothing special. and what made this place a no no recommend is that one of my friends gave me a wedding and birthday envelope gift; I left it on the table by mistake and the staff probably took it. because we called and they said it was not there. we spent 700-800 dollars there and we regret going there. we should have gone back to ruth's steakhouse as we always do every year for valentines day. read more

Overall it was good! The steak was absolutely melting. I had to give 4 out of 5 here because they took us a photo after having celebration but the picture came out black and white. It would have been better if it was color instead but the food was absolutely on the point. A good place to celebrate:) read more

I came to Morton with a few of my friends to celebrate my friend and one of my friends since our birthdays were both in June. We wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner and Morton did not disappoint. The staff specifically our waiter was so detailed oriented. Our menu said "happy birthday" at the top which was very cute. Then they took a picture of us, printed it out and gave it to us at the end. That was a very nice gesture. We started with some bread and appetizers. We had the prosciutto wrapped on mozzarella which had a vinaigrette dressing that was to die for. The wagyu meatballs were also to die for. For my entree i had the filet mignon. Super flavorful and juicy just how i like it. We also had truffle fries. The fries were super skinny which made it fun to it, some Mac and cheese and mash potatoes. Lastly, we ended the night with dessert from our waiter which sang us happy birthday. This is such a nice place for a special occasion. read more

My daughter and I Christmas dinner there and the food and service was excellent - steak was wonderful as were grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. One problem... the music was so loud my daughter and I could hardly hear ourselves or the waiter. I did request the music turned down and waiter said he would ask manager - no change. I would have made other requests, but, to be honest, it was Christmas, crowded and the steak was heavenly so just decided to keep my mouth shut. I'll return, but PLEASE consider the volume of your music in the future. read more

I hate to write a negative review for this restaurant- it is usually very good. But we went there for their $69 Thanksgiving special today. I could not eat the processed meat that was presented as turkey. The green Bean casserole was cold and was essentially green beans swimming in some kind of sauce. It certainly was not baked- terrible dish. It was 'disrespectful' to serve this meal on this special day and at such a price. Shame on you Morton's. read more
