I came with some friends for happy hour! We had their guava & jalapeño margaritas - they were great. We also enjoyed some of their tapas - empanadas, wings, coconut shrimp, yuka fries. My friend got their vaca frita. Food & service were great - definitely would come back for their happy hour. They renovated the place & it's pretty cute! Definitely a great spot to catch up with family & friends over some cuban food & drinks.

This is our go-to weekly happy hour spot for a cute mother-daughter date! The happy hour is only available at the bar, FYI. The service is always friendly and attentive. we've never had a bad experience. Sometimes things can be a little slow, but sitting at the bar definitely speeds up the process. Today we ordered the tapas sampler, and it was delicious. a perfect sharing plate with a little bit of everything. My favorite part was definitely the yucca fries (I'm a fry fiend!). For my main, I had the bistec palomilla with yellow rice and maduros. The portion was perfect, everything was flavorful, and of course, it came topped with fries! I also asked for their dipping sauce on the side for a little extra flavor -- highly recommend it.

For Hubby's birthday, he requested some Cuban food. I had a GrubHub coupon, and I had Casual Habana bookmarked, so that's how we decided on this one. We had: -Masitos de Cerdo (fried pork chunks) with dirty rice and sweet plantains - both the pork and the rice were dry. The sweet plantains were not bad, and I normally don't even like these -Chicharron - I preferred this over the pork chunks. Probably because they were fattier. It also came with a nice pickled beet salad -Cuban sandwich - pork was dry. Seems to be a common theme here. The plantain chips were a nice touch though. I also wish it came with some kind of spicy sauce because that would have helped the dryness -Caldo Gallego (white bean, chorizo, morcilla, and kale soup) - this was more like a stew than a soup. The flavors were good Maybe we just didn't order the right items but I don't think I'd order again.

If you're craving authentic Spanish cuisine, this cute little spot is a must-visit. The ambiance is cozy and the drink menu is full of fun tasty cocktails. The Paella was my favorite, so much flavor, perfectly cooked rice and packed with seafood. The Chips and Guac are simple but perfectly executed. And don't skip the Plantains--sweet and addictive! If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out both this location and their New Milford spot.

really great food. just wish they had pictures on the menu so i could see what the dishes look like. the dish i got was good just wasn't what i was expecting. my friends dish looked better than mine and made me wish i ordered hers. also not sure why they put the sides (rice and sweet plantains) on a different dish, would of been better if everything was on one plate.

Service was excellent. From the moment I walked in with my cousin we were acknowledged and seated. The waiter was patient and attentive but not overbearing. He gave us suggestions and was such a delight ! Food was simply delicious and amazing. The food here is cooked with love! Food was well seasoned and although the portions at first looked a bit small it was definitely filling. Ambiance is for anyone who is looking to go out on a date or to just hang out, the space is a bit small but it gives you enough distance from others

Very well decorated cafe. Good vibes. For the most part I think it's worth visiting. I enjoyed the tapas. Out of the three I ordered I recommend the bacon wrapped dates. That was something unique I never had it was salty and sweet. As for entrees, it took such a long time for all the entrees to come out. Therefore the mains were all warm but not hot. Not truly enjoyable when your food is more cold than expected. I personally had the Mahi Mahi and while this fish isn't my go to, they've cooked it well. This one is worth ordering; It had a nice flavor with mango purée bits. Out of all the sides the black rice and beans are the best to pair it with. The other I would recommend is the churassco. My friend had the salmon but found fish bones in it and the pernil we ordered was dry but the flavor was on point. Overall it was a mix on the food. However, the service was top notched. Very friendly and attentive.

The food was so so delicious. We ordered the shredded pork and the baby back ribs. The ribs were seasoned to perfection and so well cooked. I highly recommend. The shredded pork is a bit salty for my taste. The environment is casual, and has a bar. Waiters are nice. I'd definitely go back just for the ribs though.

    Very good restaurant.

Does this business still cater? It'll be with covid restrictions of course, since the event will be at our backyard.

Is the restaurant still BYOB? If not, how much is the corkage?

We've been hitting them up for happy hour so I doubt they let you BYO; full bar!

We started with a Bloody Mary and one of my favorites, Coconut Mojito. Rumba's Bartenders always create amazing libations and these two followed suit. The entrees were: Picadillo Jinetero (Cuban-style ground beef hash, served "a caballo" (on horseback) with two fried eggs and ripe plantains. It is a savory-sweet dish made with seasoned ground beef, sofrito, tomatoes, olives, capers, raisins, and Moro Rice). I enjoyed this dish, VERY MUCH. The ground beef was perfectly seasoned, I prefer the delectable dry Moro Rice, and those sweet plantains are divine. The other selection was the Tostones Montaditos (Fried green pressed plantains topped with Churrasco-Skirt Steak). Even though this is an appetizer, it is large enough to be a meal. Try it. I appreciated the attentive and cordial service from our Server, Eduardo. I placed a to-go order and not only was it securely packed, but Rumba also included another free appetizer coupon to the bag.

I've visited multiple locations over the past few years and I've never been disappointed! They don't miss! No matter which spot I go to, the quality of the food, the warm service, and the lively ambiance are consistently amazing. We visited the Rochelle Park location on a Saturday night. It's right on Rt17 with a large parking lot, but it was packed when we arrived. There was a line of cars backed into the highway waiting for valet service. It's complimentary, so tip as you please. I honestly don't like to valet my car...... especially when I could easily park it myself right there LOL. But we didn't have a choice. *shrug* As always, Rumba's vibrant atmosphere didn't disappoint. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk in! The upbeat Latin music will have you swaying, I promise ;) The interior beautifully captures the culture and history of Cuba with colorful artwork, tropical plants, rattan pendant lamps, and large murals of Havana. It has a touch of elegance without feeling too upscale, so this restaurant is perfect for casual dining and special occasions like celebrations or date nights. We didn't have reservations and had to wait around 15 minutes for a table for two. No biggie - we sipped at the bar until our table was ready! The menu offers traditional Cuban dishes like ropa vieja, vaca frita, and bistec de palomilla along with a variety of tapas, mofongos, sandwiches, and sides. I ordered: *Taino Cocktail [El Jimador Reposado Cristalino, Ancho Reyes Verde, Tamarindo Pure, Agave Syrup, Fresh Lime Juice] ($14.95) - Oooo this was a sweet & spicy mix with a strong tequila finish! It's like a spicy margarita with a tropical twist. *Caribbean Punch Cocktail [Tanduay White Rum, Tanduay Gold Rum, Plantation Overproof Rum, Lime Juice, Guava, Orange, Pineapple Juice, Grenadine] ($13.95) - This drink was screaming my name! It's fruity, refreshing, and makes you feel like you're on an island. I just wish it had a liiiiiiitle more rum for a stronger punch, and that the glass wasn't filled with so much ice. *Ropa Vieja [shredded beef stewed in a sauce made with tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, garlic, cumin, olives, and sherry wine] ($15.95) - Cuba's national dish! The tomato-based sauce was perfectly seasoned and the beef was sooo tender... melt-in-your-mouth type of tender! My tummy was happy, but I wish the portion size was bigger! I paired it with a side order of tostones (fried plantains) and arroz blanco (white rice) with frijoles negros (black beans). The fluffy rice soaked up the rich sauces of the black beans & ropa vieja, so every bite was savory heaven~ The tostones were sliced, deep fried, and smashed to perfection. Crispy tostones + garlic mojo sauce = a perfect pairing. I could eat these all day! The only thing that's really missing here is...Can you guess? A DANCE FLOOR. Once they make room for that, y'all know where to find me. I'll be at the bar for drinks first and then dancing later! Need to satisfy your Cuban cravings? Look no further. Put some rumba in your step and head over here!

The Latin American themed background music enhances the atmosphere making me believe I was actually in Cuba. There are no physical menus available. Scan the QR code at each table to view a full menu directly from your device. I actually think this is an excellent idea because there were illustrations for every entrée and side. Manager Joe introduced himself and offered a free virgin piña colada sample. (This location is BYOB.) It was on the thicker side and very creamy. The mocktail is on the pricier side, but it is served in a full size pineapple; I'm definitely planning to order it for a future visit. The angus beef picaña was an excellent portion. The serving size was overwhelming, which is definitely a good problem. I was able to make two leftover meals out of it. The steak was served piping hot and the meat was unbelievably juicy. It included a mango pico de galo and creamy garlic sauce. Although I didn't care for the taste of the pico de galo, the garlic sauce satisfied my taste buds on all counts. It included two sides of my choice. There was a variety of choices and the only problem I had was choosing because I wanted to try them all. I decided to explore the yuca frita and arroz moro. They were the backbone to this plate. While I was dining, a photographer was approaching tables. I don't recommend this service, unless you are dressed to impress for a large gathering or memorable event. Cuban Pete's is on the pricier side, but the food quality is excellent and the portions are enormous. The parking lot was packed so I expected there to be a wait but was pleasantly surprised when our party of 5 (plus a baby!) was seated right away. The place is lively and a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. There's a stage/dance floor in the middle so I can imagine it can turn kind of clubby later in the night. Interestingly, the menus are all tablets and while really cool at first, it got annoying when a couple of our menus started to glitch. High tech but also leaves more room for failure. The service was friendly though and decently quick. We ordered a few appetizers and they came out in a reasonable amount of time. We got a sampler, croquettas, and a tamal. Everything tasted great so I had high hopes for our entrees. I went with the Mother's Day Special Relleno (stuffed) Salmon. It was a little overcooked but still really tasty. I believe it was stuffed with some crab meat and cheese. I also really liked the sauce that covered it. My dad got oxtail and it was seasoned very well but the oxtail pieces were cooked inconsistently. Some were soft and came off the bone very easily while others were tough to the point I had to use my hands to gnaw the meat off the bone. Everyone else's dishes were pretty good too. All in all La Havana 59 seems like a solid Cuban spot. I'd come back.
