I ordered online, been trying to get food from a local restaurant every week to support small business in this tough time in 2020. I ordered the Mofongos de Longaniza, and it did not disappoint. First off for the price they give you a ton of food, easily two meals for me. The sausage is bomb, crispy, a little spice amazing!!! This is a decent Dominican restaurant that recently opened in Garfield. I was excited to try it. I first started off trying their chicken but ended up tossing it after a couple bites because it just wasn't good. Very rubbery and didn't taste fresh. Also I would recommend ordering the pink sauce on the side it's really good. I also recommend the chicharrón de pollo sin hueso (boneless chicken chunks). Just moved to the area and of course had to try the local Dominican spot being Dominican myself. Ordered via UberEats; food was prepared quickly which allowed for early delivery, always a plus. I'm low carb so can't attest to the rice and beans but from what I did get, I wasn't disappointed.. I ordered the chicharron, pulled pork and salad. Chicharron was crispy on top with well seasoned meat attached. Came with lots of lime and was amazing both when I got it and the next day when I heated it up in the air fryer. Pulled pork had amazing flavor and would be perfect with some rice. Salad was basic coming with only Cabbage, corn and tomatoes but fared okay with the pork. I love tasting new cuisines, and I have never eaten from an authentic Dominican restaurant. First, the hospitality and customer service was excellent. I was welcomed and greeted very warmly. I asked for recommendations because I am a vegetarian, and the majority of the menu consisted of meat and seafood. I ordered the cheese empanadas, Sandwich de Queso with avocado, flan, and tres leches. The cheese empanadas were heavily stuffed with cheddar cheese and deep-fried. However, the empanadas were not oily, and the dough was super crispy. The sandwich with cheese, avocado, and a special garlic sauce were superb. The sauce was made in-house and perfectly accompanied the sandwich. The outside was toasted well and crunchy. Lastly, the two desserts: flan and tres leches, were simply delicious. The flan, caramel pudding or custard, was milky and sweet. Also, it was drenched in sugar syrup and made it extra soft. The tres leches are my favorite Hispanic dessert. It is a spongy cake soaked in three different types of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream. The cake was buttery, soft, light, and covered in the milk mixture. I would visit the restaurant again and highly recommend trying it yourself. read more

Uber Eats order, mad late. The pernil was soggy and unseasoned. I threw some adobo on and ate some. The arroz con gandules was iight. I could have gone with 1.5-2 stars if not for the empanadas, which were flat out disrespectful with mostly air inside. The chicken ones had dry unseasoned white meat. The beef ones had dry non-stewed beef, not as bad as the chicken. Should have canceled the order once I was notified they were out of oxtail. To be fair, majority of spots I try just don't know how or don't put the effort to season and cook this food properly. read more
