Sopa de Bolas has great taste! My only complaint is the meat has way too much fatty and make soup very oily. I have a trick, maybe cook could trim fat off meat pieces, before cooking soup, or put parts of soup in freezer and take off frozen fat part off the top of frozen soup. Ecuadorian here ‍ Cons: messed up my order a bit. Wish I got to taste the empanada de carne Pros: The bolon mixto, the morrocho, the empanadas de pollo and the ones de queso were bomb. La sopa de gallina and el sancocho de carne all tasted exactly how I remembered them being growing up. The quality of food is amazing and worth every dollar. Not a huge fan of Ecuadorian food but they have some decent dishes. Here they have all the authentic Ecuadorian dishes. Their lunch specials are a good price for the amount they serve. I think that's the best thing about the place. Lunch special is 8$ for a big portion. Everything else is super expensive, Ecuadorian food really isn't supposed to be that expensive or they don't really make anything super crazy unique that gives it a reason to be like 12+ a dish. I mean their mozzarella sticks here are almost 10$ for 6 of them, not even real American spots are that pricey!! I mean is this houlihans is that pricey for 6 sticks. I chose the typical Bandera Ecuatoriana, which includes all of Ecuadors best, "Guatita" which is tripe coated with a delicious, creamy mani sauce accompanied with little bits of potatoes, "Ceviche" which is like a shrimp cocktail but drenched with acidic juices like lime mixed with onions, cilantro and tomatoes, "Seco de Pollo" which is considered chicken stew and a side of white rice and Avocado. Best dinner I've had in a while indeed! My partner and sister ordered the Arroz con Camarones mixto and the Plato de Hornado mixto. Everyone loved what they ordered and let's just say no one left unhappy. We all ordered the Flan dessert but felt like that was the only con this spot had. Delicious! The chicken stew came on a platter and had rice and avocado. The grilled steak came with rice, fried eggs on top, beans (served separately) and this salad that was fantastic. My family is Ecuadorian, very Ecuadorian. They love authentic food that taste like home but sometimes have a hard time finding it. They crave a specific flavor and Sari's has it. We have had MANY dishes from here and they have all been excellently made. From the Corvina, my moms favorite to the Encebollado, everything is tasty. They give great portions, which is expected from an Ecuadorian restaurant lol if you're thinking about it, just do it. It's authentic, homemade. First off, I ordered the empanada de verde- which wasn't bad, needed some salt or something but that I didn't mind. It was freshly fried so I didn't mind. The wait is what killed me- like seriously that long to fry 1 empanada and the place isn't even busy. For my main entree I ordered the ceviche de camarones- I guess I was expecting a bigger plate for something so pricey. I have received better quality at lower prices elsewhere. It needed heat and seasoning! It was basically ceviche soup if that. I did like the texture of the shrimp though, and the fact that it came with tostones which were delicious. The shrimp were tender and cooked well, but overall I wouldn't order it again. I basically used an ample amount of salt and hot sauce that were provided on the table because it needed the help. My son calls me up saying he was sick and wanted soup. On a whim, I called here and asked if they had sancocho and they did. It took 30 minutes to travel 3 towns over and then another 30 minutes to being it back home to my boy. But it was worth it when he laid back and said "ahh that was good" I ordered one for my husband too - his first time and he demolished it. I ordered the fried tilapia. It came with plantains, beans , rice and salad with the red onions and dressing gave the dish that extra snap. Huge portions and can't wait to finish up the leftovers tomorrow.
