Very disappointed, not freshly made, nothing is fresh, nothing like it said on fb, the beef is already overcooked and they just reheat and doesn't look good nor taste good. I really come all the way here because of the review from David portnoy. Also, 3.84% processing fee on credit card. Just another reason I don't want to be back.

A Schenectady Erie Blvd. icon even under new ownership. Ordered takeout on a Sunday around 3 pm instead of eating in as in the past pre Covid. Not sure of the cleanliness in eating area, but I was not up close to tables. The one outstanding cook and one waitress were busy handling orders for four tables, a postal worker sitting at the counter, and a couple of takeout orders I was aware of. Kudos to them. The waitress was polite when she greeted me at the register by the entrance. The cook was a well oiled machine of efficiency, multi tasking, and purpose. I watched him work since I was waiting by the doorway. He finished my order and checked me out efficiently. He immediately returned to manning his grills. A king size steak sandwich was ordered with onions, peppers, sauce, and provolone cheese. My husband loved it, especially the tender high quality slices/pieces of steak that were used to make the sandwich. The roll was fresh'. The onion rings were good. I wanted the seafood plate, but they were out of fried clams. I had the fish plate. The four pieces of breaded cod were good not great. It was typical frozen fish. The cocktail sauce was homemade and delicious. The cole slaw was very good, but not sure whether it was made in house. The fries were hot and crispy, tasted excellent and so plentiful, I could only eat half. I should have ordered the queen size steak sandwich. The prices were so reasonable they reminded me of prices available a decade ago. The menu had specials and a variety of offerings. Will return soon for take out.

Great place that makes a cheese steak like they do in Philly, literally every thing is good here I personally always get the kings sampler and a king steak with the sauce and onions and peppers it's really my favorite thing. This is my regular go to place

Ok... the joint is old. Like "Nana and Pop-Pop" old. Tables are clean and the paper/ad filled placemats from the 1970's sort of sums up this place's 1970ish vibe. Foodies...You need to check yourself ... this ain't Panera bread... and that is a good thing. The menu is excellent for a sandwich joint and was cooked to order and presented attentively. It's not a "take a client for a fancy power lunch" kind of place....It's an excellent sandwich shop that flavor wise kicks Subway's ass then takes it's lunch money. My Spicy King sub was excellent. While my cardiologist would be appalled I was very pleased! Get over yourself and sit down to an old school, sit down, clean but slightly tired sandwich shop that hasn't changed since the Nixon administration... you'll be glad you did.

Okay, I found out about this place very late in the game. I guess it has changed owners over the years, closed, reopened, etc. In fact, my Lyft driver, who was a local, told me it was closed - on our way to it (6/18/18). He was wrong. It was open and I am happy about that. I must say that I was surprised at how good the food is! The Open Faced King Size Steak Sandwich is humongous. It is enough for 2 people, so of course I ate the whole thing in 15 minutes - with a large order of Bacon and Cheddar Fries. My take out order was still piping hot (actually steaming), after a 15-20 minute drive. I like this diner and the food is delicious, at bargain prices. Try it! #exercise2eatmore

Solid steak sandwich. Fries and rings were really good you could tell the fryer oil was super fresh. Our waitress was really good too. She was on top of everything and was filling our drinks before they were even empty. I read others saying that the portions were small but I felt that my sandwich was perfect. I ate the whole thing but I was pleasantly full and I'm 6'6" 285 lbs. we'll be back!

Jersey Shore Hotdogs? You mean like the Pauly D Sausage? I heard steroids make hot dogs shrink though.

I hope that Steven Spielberg makes More ETs. The first ET was such a big hit, I don't understand why there were no more. Apparently the owner of More ETs feels the same way. WHAT TO GET: Steak Sandwich WHY: Because I said so I don't get it. This has to be THE most underrated place in the history of Yelp. Usually when Adam Richman (or whoever) has visited a place and said it's great, it usually sucks. Because normally (I think) they have to pay to be on those shows, and if you're paying to be on those shows it's probably because customers won't visit you for the food alone, so you have to "get famous" to sell your products. Not the case with Morette's. Easily one of the most delicious, juiciest sandwiches I've ever eaten. The fact that it's wetter than my ex is a huge bonus because I love wet stuff, but the taste and bread and everything were off the charts good. It was a long wait, but it was worth it. Not the cheapest sandwich in the world, but one of the more delicious American sandwiches, ever. It's a crime, and insane, that it's 2.5 stars when it's a 5-star sandwich. The service was perfectly fine too. I implore everyone to come and try this sandwich and if I'm right, then help get this business rating back where it belongs. The most delicious food item in Schenectady and one of the top 5 in the entire Albany region. Morettes? How about More-ratings. 5 star ones, that is. Total injustice. Yumfest. Try it.

As always, the ambiance is warm and welcoming. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I have some unique food allergies and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs. I got the Chefs Macaroni and Cheese. It was as good a my mother's homemade macaroni and cheese. For dessert I had the tapioca pudding. The presentation in the sundae dish with the whipped cream made it more appealing. It was delicious! If you are in the area, I highly recommend you check them out.

You go to plan "B." The Blue Ribbon Restaurant and Bakery is a "sister" to the bakery next door and is open on Sunday for five hours after the bakery shop closes. We might as well have dinner too while we are at the restaurant. Starting with cups of better than average diner coffee ($2.99/bottomless cup) my wife chose a Reuben with coleslaw and pickle wedge ($14.99) and added fries ($3) while I decided to have the Shredded Short Rib Sandwich ($14.49) which included fries, coleslaw, and a pickle wedge. We both agreed the fries were best while they were nice and hot but otherwise typically average once they cooled. Our respective sandwiches, however, were outstanding. The Reuben was the traditional corned beef on grilled rye with sauerkraut and melted Swiss cheese. It was large enough that half came home for the next meal. My Short Rib sandwich was too full of meat in a fresh and soft bun for me to chance picking it up to eat by hand, so I resorted to using a fork and knife. Regardless, it was really tasty. Now we were ready for the main event. My wife got her slice of Carrot Cake ($7.49) while I selected the Italian Rum Cake ($7.25). We both left totally satisfied and smiling, but on overload. This diner is very clean and staff are efficient.

I have been to Redwood Diner numerous times and I always enjoy it. The service is consistently fantastic, and that really stands out. The owners (Pete and Gloria) are very friendly, as are the waitresses, and you can tell they truly care about the people who come in. On several occasions, both owners and waitresses have stopped by the table to make sure everything was good and to chat for a bit. The conversations are always enjoyable and never feel forced. The waitresses know my order by heart which is impressive. You can tell the waitresses really care. They stop by numerous times to make sure you're all set and always offer to warm up and top off your coffee. The food is always good and the portions are generous, so you definitely leave satisfied. There is a really nice ambiance here. It feels comfortable and welcoming, not rushed or impersonal. They also decorate the windows for holidays, and there is a Christmas tree in the front breezeway that they decorate for different holidays throughout the year, which adds a fun and festive touch. Many times I have ended up chatting with other patrons seated near my table, which says a lot about the atmosphere. There are clearly several regulars, and when a place has a loyal customer base like that, they are doing something right. One of the things I appreciate most is that you can go with others, enjoy your food, and have a nice conversation without feeling pressure to leave quickly. That is getting harder to find these days. This place easily earns 5 stars from me.

As far as diners are concerned, Redwood Diner totally fits the mold. There's a nostalgic vibe to these places that is almost comforting in itself. The food, yup, got you covered there, too. There's the "meat and three" combo, if you count the salad as one of the vegetables. This comes with bread and soup, veg & starch as well as the previously mentioned salad. There's even a liver and onions option on the menu. I've never been a fan so I passed on that one. One of the other staples offered here that I can recommend are the hot dogs. Get them loaded with meat sauce, onions, and mustard. Although the prices have changed, the charm remains.
