Went in this morning with family from out of town. Great food always a good price, chose the patio because it's pretty and there's great weather. I really love this place but the server gave me a total and had me sign. I went in realizing she didn't give us the option for a tip and I wanted to make sure she received some sort of compensation. She was really kind and had great service-- but when she printed off a copy of the receipt she had chosen what she thought she deserved for a tip I suppose. It is not like they advertise tips or a minimum gratuity to be added to the bill. While I would have tipped or similarly or rounded up the tab I just find it really dishonest and another boy who was standing there while I was waiting for a copy of the receipt said I could just give him a hundred bucks for them to all split. I really wanted to correct a possible error of her not receiving what she earned but instead was boldly taken advantage of. read more

Same as another reviewer, there was really no wait at all. Came in at 10:00 on New year's Eve day. Server was very fast and attentive and was running several tables pretty expertly, running back and forth between the kitchen making sure everything was just right. I ordered a parfait which was a good size - sometimes they are huge and I just can't eat it all in one setting. Only thing was it was made with quark I am pretty sure. I wasn't prepared for that, but it was ok I guess. Fruit in it was fresh and the granola was tasty. My husband ordered avocado toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties. The avocado toast had a lemon vinaigrette he had me try and it was delicious. Eggs were fine. Sausage was mediocre. Not very flavorful. Perks: overall great food, free WiFi, 5% cash back via Yelp check in. Our waitress also apologized for the wait on ringing up the card (which was not bad at all) and offered us a coffee or other drink to go. Very thoughtful. I was debating on whether or not to give this place three stars or four, but like to give newer restaurants the benefit of the doubt. The good: this place is super cute and I thought the food was perfectly fine and the prices were reasonable. Their $4.00 mimosa flight is a great deal, and it's a great place to go before game day or just to start off a fun day. My roommates and I loved that. There's also a parking garage right next to it and street parking on Mill, so that makes it easy parking wise. The not so good: We sat at our table outside (it was 103 outside) for 25 minutes before being given water. We almost left because we were so hot and thirsty. Someone who was not our waitress finally came over and just took over from there. Luckily, our new waitress (who I think was actually a hostess) was friendly and got our food to come out somewhat fast. It wasn't super busy either, so I'm just going to attribute this to the restaurant being relatively new. Enjoyed brunch. I had a veggie omelet which was very well prepared. So many times when you get an omelet with egg whites and vegetables it is runny. This one was cooked to perfection! We split an order of the Nutella pancakes and they were light and yummy! Tip: You can make a reservation on Open Table so you don't have to wait for a table when it is busy. I would like to take the time to share my experience as a routinely Sunday morning breakfast go-er to all restaurants across the valley. I have been to morning squeeze several times over the past year and generally the experience is so-so. Decent food, decent customer service, decent wait time. It's generally a place my boyfriend and I like to go if we woke up late, or just need a default. Now today, definitely ended my experience of wanting to come back. After entering the building the hostess (which was very friendly) seated us outside at a table between the bars. Now I understand that it may be hard to see us with a big brick wall next to us, blocking the view of seeing a table for the waiter, but this was a very slow morning. We ended up waiting a solid 10 mins for our drink order just to be taken, and that was after the fact, I had to get up and grab the hostess to ask for a waiter. We ended up ordering 2 waters and a Americano (unfortunately to say, the water was the best thing out of this whole service). When we got the Americano back, I have never seen so many coffee grounds on the side of the cup and I'm sure at the bottom.. (my boyfriend didn't even make it halfway through the drink because of the taste). We then both ordered the eggs my way. When it came out (delivered by someone else of the staff) my boyfriend had received an untoasted English muffin, hash browns with sea salt over them, eggs and sausage, with a cute little orange slice. I had received uncooked scrambled eggs, uncooked hash browns (no sea salt), toast, and bacon, no orange slice. Now, just by judging the plates, mine seemed nothing but an after thought. All we had to put on our toast was butter, and we received a little side of ketchup (leading to the only real flavor on the whole plate). Our waiter never checked on us, so we couldn't ask for any jelly, or anything that we may need.. the only time he came back was when he dropped off the bill. Looks can be deceiving,... a slow Tuesday afternoon in August. Too hot to be outside under the misters,... let's go inside and enjoy the AC !!! The first thing that greets you at the door beyond the welcoming smile and polite demeanor of the hostess, -is a thick stench of raw sewage; -not processed like week old Chinese leftovers, but a potpourri of feces and vomit in a soup of briny urine. The Hostess says with a smile,... "Don't worry,... -you'll get used to it" and, we probably would have if, it didn't take 47 minutes to get our food entrees. By then, not only was the aroma embedded in our nostrils but, I swear,.. I could taste the pungent flavor in the water and my sandwich as well. The entrees we ordered, a Free Bird and The Reuben were of standard kitchen fare. The Free Bird item appeared appetizing until you realized it was dry as plywood and fried into oblivion. The Reuben. Nothing special here. -For a second, I thought, I got 2nd prize or something worse. Both came with Plain-Jane unseasoned fries,... The Free Bird plate was bursting with color and full. This place is okay. I like the outdoor seating and patio area. The service was not very good. Food was average at best and a little on the pricey side for what you get. Was told the wait was 20mins for a group of 4- we ended up waiting a little over 1 hour with no explanation. You can bring your dog on the patio so that's another plus. The food is pretty simple and although there aren't really any solid vegan options, you can definitely make somethings work if you're not an egg person. I thoroughly enjoyed a mimosa flight with 3 different flavors - all delicious, but the orange juice was suspiciously neon yellow colored which was odd-looking but still tasted good! In all, the ambiance is cool and fairly quiet and the space is open with a misted patio and bar. Plus, really nice service overall, however, behind the bar they kept smashing champagne bottles into the trash which was kind of startling and loud multiple times throughout breakfast. I come to Tempe for business quite a bit and have noticed that this town really likes its breakfast places, and I was excited to see a new one that was so close to the downtown area to where I was staying. It seemed a little difficult to find while walking on the street, but once inside, it's setup like a very bright and happy diner. Lots of oranges, yellows, and greens, and plenty of bar seating and bouncy booths. All of the servers seem to all be super athletic and make me feel super inspired to have the right food to start my day off right! I came in at around 7:45 on a weekday and it was probably 25% full. Food was fast - I got the Cross Fit - and the water was plentiful (mostly because the containers are ridiculously enormous and if I didn't work out myself, I probably wouldn't be able to lift it because my hand would be too small to hold it). The portions are quite large. One of my favorite parts was the whole wheat toast - it's from Wildflower bakery and I thought it was absolutely delicious. Great touch! Morning squeeze is officially one of my top 5 favorite breakfast spots in Tempe. I took my girlfriend for brunch here, and she absolutely adored the place! The interior aesthetics were really nice and felt welcoming. The patio is great to hangout, relax and enjoy the weather. Being welcomed with amazing customer service, you'll enjoy your experience. For each of the waitresses are so welcoming and always smiling. Our waitress Mercedes was really kind and attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed and even helped my girlfriend decide on what she wanted. I fully recommend the crepe with Nutella and strawberry's, though I was only able to sneak a bite from my girlfriend. We went to the morning squeeze today to get some breakfast and was told there would be a 10 to 15 min wait. 35 mins later I ask the hostess how much longer it would be to which she replied "I am going to try to seat you right now" when we were finally seated, nobody came to our table for at least 15 mins. Once the hostess finally returned with some waters, She asked if the the server had helped us yet. When we told her no, she apologized and said she would grab her.. we watched the server serve everyone else but us, including people who came in and sat down after us.
