We enjoy this place for when we want a nice breakfast outside where our kids can be kids without judgement. We recently went on a Saturday morning as a group of 4 adults and 2 kids around 9:30am and the wait ended up being around 30min to order and then about 20 minutes for the food. we ordered breakfast tacos, montecristo, standard breakfast, and my specific order was the Japanese sweet potato with brisket and wow I felt that mine was the best meal in terms of uniqueness, flavor, and very filling. Also, the orange juice is some of the best I've had around! What I also enjoy about this spot is that before/after you enjoy a nice meal at one of their picnic tables you are free to walk about and enjoy their nice property with some yard games, grassy areas, the chicken coops, and even a little store for some cute goodies to take home.

Family time at the farm

We went to The Farm at South Mountain just for Morning Glory Cafe. We arrived before 11am and had to park at the parking lot across the street. It's convenient. Just be cautious when you cross with your children because there is a crosswalk without a traffic light. The walk towards Morning Glory Cafe was quite lovely since we were able to walk though the Farmers Market and most of the garden. I waited in line for about half an hour and maybe another 10 min for our food. My family easily found a place to sit under the shade. We ordered the Enchiladas with no cheese and scramled eggs on the side, and the Belgian Waffle. Unfortunately, the enchiladas came out cold. I still did enjoy the taste of the whole dish. Based on taste alone, I would recommend both the dishes I ordered. I usually order my coffee with just milk, but, they got me on the pumpkin spice flavor. To my surprise, I enjoyed it better than my normal coffee preference.

"Chilaquiles "

Would not recommend for breakfast. The coffee options are minimal and only to be flavored with sugar packets. We ordered the chilaquiles and they were basically the store bought chips you get for the table and an egg on top. As soon as we got it, I knew I had ordered the wrong thing. Not sure if there are better items on the menu but the other item my date ordered was also mid. The best thing about it was probably the orange juice.

Smoked Salmon Omelet

Such a cute spot in South Phoenix. This place is a casual outdoor farm-to-table brunch place located at The Farm at South Mountain. You order at the counter and seat yourself at a picnic table. I ordered the smoked salmon omelet, but next time I'll be getting the brisket because I tasted some and it was delish. The line was kinda long on the weekend but you can definitely spend a while here just eating and exploring parts of the farm like the gift shop and chicken coops. Good for groups when the weather is nice.

Breakfast Burrito

Located at the foothills of south mountain this is your go to place for a farm to table experience. Morning glory is located inside the farm and this place is exclusively for breakfast. The farm is huge and such a fun place for family and friends. There is ample parking space as well! We went around noon and ordered farm burrito, French toast, waffle and freshly squeezed orange juice. The juice was very refreshing and was fantastic. The food is great as well, loved the burrito and the fresh toast, great flavors, warm and perfect. Waffle wasn't the best felt it was over done. The pricing is a little expensive specially a glass of juice is $7, but can't complain on the taste. The service is quick and organized Everything was great and loved the whole vibe.

This is a the breakfast only spot that's in The Farm, a 10 acre event venue in South Mountain that hosts weddings as well as other events. The Farm also includes some Chickens and turkeys to look at as well as some veggies growing. Anyway, back to the Morning Glory Cafe, it's a popular breakfast spot as it's both Family Friendly as well as dog friendly. Seating is all outdoors picnic table style, but they also have large umbrellas you can activate for some shade. Food-wise, you line up and order/pay first while they make it, the they call your number to pick it up when it's ready. Food is decent, they have many choices. My favorites are chicken enchiladas as well as a salmon omelette. They focus on farm-to-table or at least their image, is of that, so don't be expecting some usual breakfast fare. Fresh squeezed OJ also featured but for a hefty $7 a cup. Also Coffee is drip coffee, there is no espresso machine. Overall, it's a great place if you go once every one or two months as a good change of pace from normal restaurants. I wouldn't go here more than that as some of the outdoor dining novelty may wear off.

My all time favorite brunch restaurant. I go every year during the winter to take advantage of the great Arizona weather. The Japanese sweet potato is usually my go-to order. The smoked salmon is also tasty.

Delicious fresh squeezed orange juice

Came here for breakfast to celebrate my niece's birthday a few weeks ago. What a beautiful setting. Having a meal surrounded by trees, flowers, and so much greenery was very nice. Service was not the best, it was a Saturday, but it took us at least 25 minutes just to get our drinks. Then about another 25 just to get our food. The food was already semi cold. I ordered the chilaquiles, which were honestly pretty bland and had no spice. I will say, I had the best fresh squeezed orange juice I've ever had in my life! It's 7 dollars for a pretty small cup, but I will say that was worth it taste wise. I will be coming back to give it another shot because I did love the ambiance. Hopefully it was just an off day.

We got Black Coffee and Orange Juice with Chilaquiles. The service was excellent and the Ambiance at The Farm fantastic !!

Chicken enchiladas, Japanese sweet potato, blue corn waffle, orange juice, Press coffee

I think people come here for the location :) The orange juice is amazing and the loaded Japanese sweet potato is unique but everything else is kind of lackluster. We did yoga then headed over for brunch afterwards. The line was non-existent when yoga started and I was watching hoards of people walking over I started having FOMO during class!! When we finished class, the line was probably 15-20 people long. After we finished eating, there must have been 50+ people in line!! It is a destination and cute farm. Love that there are so many outdoor tables.

The cutest cafe in the cutest location! We were in town for work and found this breakfast place on Yelp so we decided to pay a visit before exploring the area. It's located on a beautiful spacious farm with another eatery and small local shops. Service was friendly and pretty fast considering all food is made to order. I ordered the salmon omelette and only needed just a tad of salt and pepper, but still enjoyable. Definitely recommend to those looking for a picturesque breakfast/brunch place on a good weather day!

Breakfast of the year 2024. It truly can't get more farm-to-table then the Morning Glory Cafe. Ingredients are sourced by the farm on the property. Outdoor seating is plentiful and perfect for a weekend brunch. I ordered the cauliflower hash. Oh my. It was incredibly fresh and delicious. Everyone in my group loved their 'meal. And bonus that they serve press coffee.

5 refreshing drinks after a hike
Paul D.

We visited after a hike. Refreshing drinks among other things hit the spot. The place is little on the tiny side for us but otherwise a good experience. The wait server allowed us to snap a pic of our large drink order request. I would visit again.

Ask the Community - Morning Glory Cafe

Can I walk around the farm after eating? Is there live music?

The farm is open and large. Eat outside at the picnic areas and even hold your wedding. They have chickens, turkeys, and ducks. Flowers and crops. Enjoy.

Do they allow dogs on the patio?

Yes! I brought my leashed dog and they even offered my dog a water bowl :)

Is seating Only outside? If yes are there heaters?

Hi James, Morning Glory Cafe is outside seating only. There are heaters when the weather becomes cooler.

The oysters are a must, the steak is cooked perfectly, and everything is plated so thoughtfully it really feels like a full experience, not just a meal. The dinner staff has also always been attentive, friendly, and on point. That said, I recently came in for brunch and had a very different experience. I'm a huge pancake person, so I was excited to try the strawberry pancakes, but they were honestly disappointing. They were soggy, lacked any fluff, and had more of a cornbread texture than a pancake. The strawberry topping also wasn't very appetizing--it seemed like it was meant to be more of a sauce, but it didn't quite work. I completely understand that higher-end restaurants like to get creative with their dishes, but I think some basics like pancakes should still be done really well. I'll definitely be back for dinner, but I'd probably skip brunch next time.

Inside is truly unique blend of African safari, Aussie chefs complete with hats wood grilling tomahawks and tons of meat right in the middle of the restaurant. Remembered drink preferences, even an unusual order i made which he delivered perfectly after serving 2 others who joined me. Everyone behind the bar kept my water topped up and the bar free of soiled napkins and empty glasses. Prices were extremely reasonable. Few drafts on tap and am extensive bar and cocktail selection. Definitely going to return back to enjoy the food, smelled wonderful.

The restaurant and outdoor entertainment complex is huge and has a really fun, energetic vibe. According to the bartender, they have ping-pong, pickleball, and a big upstairs outdoor patio with amazing views of Tempe and the surrounding area. There's also a large parking lot, lots of outdoor seating, and even a dog park area, which makes it really easy to spend time here. The bartenders and wait staff were very friendly. Azbel was a great server. I had the bistro steak and fries and the Szechuan lettuce wraps, and both were really good. Portions were generous. During late-night happy hour my total was about $55 for a main entrée, an appetizer, a cocktail, and tip, which felt like a great deal. I was pleasantly surprised that happy hour runs every day Monday through Sunday from 3-6 PM and again from 8 PM to close. I also checked out the event venue on site, and it looks like it would be a great place for a company party, corporate event, or group gathering. I'll definitely be returning in the near future.

The Service was "electric" for us as we were celebrating a birthday at the table during lunch. It was too Hot for us to do pickleball, but they do have a fully shaded area that had people playing outside ~105 degrees. As for the food, we had the Fish & Chips with a Mahi Mahi Slaw & Fries, the Ahi Poke Tacos which come in Wonton shells. Hot Honey and Sausage Pizza was great. The Barbacoa Nachos had all the right ingredients & the Double Smash Burger had only some "fancy sauce" on the plate. The Tempura Green Bean, can't remember who ordered, but were good with the chipotle ranch sauce. With me, I'm all about the cocktails, so I treated myself to both the Froze Margarita & the Chi Chi. They call them spiked slushes, I call them "heaven sent" during the Arizona Summer. All of the food was a hit for the table and my family understood why I suggested EP for lunch! I said our Server was "electric" and that's because they made our experience very enjoyable. It was appreciated and I will return again for lunch and pickleball (in the evenings) during the hot summer!

The food was decently priced but expect to atleast spend $200-$250 for two people minimum. The menu was small which was not bad cause the food was incredible. There were only two scallops and 3 shrimp on there and it was black squid ink pasta which I have had elsewhere before and it didn't color my lips and teeth like it did with this so if this was a first date, I'd say no to that dish haha but it was delicious. We got a bottle of moscato to share which was a great choice and then we got dessert for free which we did not expect but definitely appreciated as it was delightful. My girlfriend loved the views, but if I'm being honest, I was a bit underwhelmed. I'm from San Diego and I've seen far better. A view overlooking the freeway just isn't all that impressive to me personally. Still, I've passed this place on the freeway so many times and always wondered about it, so it felt special to finally check it off the list. We arrived about 10 minutes late, and I'll say the host that greeted us was a bit rude. We waited a few minutes before he took us back to our table. I will say there's an odd smell when you first walked in and I'm grateful that we sat outside. Once we sat down though, our waitress was attentive the entire night. We started with the charcuterie board, which honestly felt a little basic to me. The smoked Gouda was fine, but I would've preferred something sharper like an aged Gouda, and a more thoughtfully curated spread overall. The meats were okay, nothing that really stood out. On the drinks side, I tried two. The berry limeade was absolutely delicious, highly recommend that one! The traditional margarita though? Not it. Way too sweet for my taste. I don't think most Americans really know what a true margarita is supposed to be. I was hoping for something less sweet and more authentic. It is what it is, I drank it anyway (more because of the price than anything). But the entrées? Spot on. My girlfriend got the Miso Glazed Sea Bass served over potato purée with asparagus and a citrus beurre blanc. She said it was delicious. I had the Seasonal Ravioli with grana padano, white truffle oil, and added wild mushrooms on top. Incredible flavor, did not disappoint. I will say though, the ravioli plating wasn't all that appetizing. The sauce color came off bland and boring, and a little garnish like some micro greens on top could've gone a long way to elevate it. For a place like this (and the price), I expect the plating to be just as on point as the flavor. I'd say the same for the table setting, lighting and cleanliness of the table, I'd really rate that C level. Our waitress surprised us with complimentary champagne for the birthday, which was such a sweet touch. No clue what it was, but it was so good she ordered a second glass. They also brought us a small dessert that said Happy 40th Birthday for my girlfriend, which was really thoughtful. And the sunset? That part was genuinely beautiful. We got some great photos. All in all, a decent experience overall. It's pricey, and not somewhere I'd rush back to, but for a special occasion every now and then? Worth it to my GF and that's all that matters at the end of the day because it was her birthday celebration.
