I was asked to try the food at Moreno's. My wife and I went to Moreno's for lunch but we never received the chance to eat. Sat down for 20 minutes with no server, manager or host/hostess to come by and check on us. The bus boy was very nice but he was the only nice person there. We looked for a manager and she said they were very busy today. We decided to leave so the manager charged us for the ice tea the bus boy brought us and did not offer any apology for poor service. This was my first time here. I love their chips and albondiga soup. The sampler appetizer plate and shredded beef tacos are great. I did not care for the salsa for the chips and tamale it was mainly masa but was a good size. Worst service ever ! The owner Linda is very rude and treated us with disrespect. We were requesting to be seated outside and she fired back in a rude tone WE ARE NOT SEATING ANYONE OUTSIDE , but as I walked in there were at least 5 families sitting outside . We will never return here again . As an owner and manager of a restaurant , you would think they would treat customers with respect and not be rude . Took the whole family to Moreno's on a Sunday evening. It seemed pretty busy upon check in because a lot of people were eating outside. We opted for inside seating and were sat right away. It wasn't busy at all inside. This place is pretty big. We have been excited to try this place after finding it when we got our car washed across the street. Things didnt start out so well. It took a really long time for our waitor to come to take our drink order, and it took just as long to get our drinks. Then it took a really long time for him to come back to take our order. It didnt really bother me cause we were enjoying the chips and carrots/jalapenos the Morenos's provides. I would have to say that the bowls with jalapenos and carrots was my favorite part salsa was too tomatoie, but wasn't disgusting. I got a Cadillac margarita which was pretty tasty. We ordered our food and it didnt take too long to get. It looked great. I ordered the carne asada and enchilada plate. Had decent flavor but was very dry. The beans and rice was delicious, and the avocado was awesome. It did seem that every one that ordered any kind of meat said it was dry. My wife got the carnitas and hers was dry, meat in the tacos dry. Meat in the taquitos dry. Maybe it was an off night for this place, not sure if we will give it another shot. Nope. Not very good Mexican food and the margaritas are watered-down and sour. This place gets the business because it has outside dinning and can accommodate large parties, but other than that, the food and drinks are not very good or authentic. I had a tamale that was more masa than meat and the meat was not seasoned. It tasted bland and old. Moreno's has been around over 50 years but I think they must be catering to people who have no idea what good Mexican food should be. Sorry. This place has definitely gone down hill. Went here a few months back. The service was horrible and food was bland. So I figured I'd give it a second chance. And this time they really screwed up. We had call to reserve for a large party. When we all got there, they said they did not have any reservations under our name. After talking the manager(Linda) that we had spoken to the hostess( mention the name), the manager was saying "oh that person would never say/do that we are full" We told her that this was unacceptable. she walked up to our face and raised her voice saying "well I don't have to set you". A friend and I went to Moreno's for lunch(3pm) on Thursday 4-22-2021(to celebrate finally being able to sit at a restaurant since covid closed everything down), the restaurant was not busy while we were there nor was there a wait time for anyone when we were told by the manager that there was a 90 minute table limit and so we left. Our bill was 35.00. I was unaware of any sign that indicated a time limit nor were we informed by the hostess who seated us of the 90 minute table limit policy. I was embarrassed as I saw the manager walk up to our table, state the 90 minute policy and walk away, I found her to be extremely rude: I assume she was the manager(she did not state who she was). Needless to say I will never go back to Moreno's nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. read more

Morenos is not a good restaurant because the food is terrible, staff is okay the owners half Mexican daughter Seems as if she hates her life, who has a chip on her shoulder. I went to a retirement party and Morenos had three meals to select from. I chose the Super Tostada. The tortilla shell was pre made and cold, the beans seemed to be carelessly thrown into shell and were bland The lettuce were minuscule pieces and not fresh just limp. The carnitas were dried out greasy, they seemed to be cooked multiple times as tough as jerky. The sour cream was watered down, it did not sit well on the lettuce it was as if it was poured on, cheese was cheesy not a good one, it was yellow, it would have been better with Mexican white cheese. Then they place some bitter old black olives. I then asked for Chile salsa, the one at the table was watered down and more like tomatoe sauce watered down. Oh and the price for the piece of crap $20.25. Never, never again will I go nor I will never recommend it. The food is tired, the owners daughter hates her life and job. Too much cheese to hide the old food, too much salt. But I guess white people have no clue what is good Mexican food. Just sell the rotten food place! read more

I have lived around the corner from Moreno's for over 30 years and tonight was like the 4th time I have been here. Granted it's a pretty setting but that's about it. First they don't have a happy hour menu! So we ordered a sampler platter which was 15.00 that had quesadillas, flautas, small taquitos and a few nachos with beans. The margaritas were 8.50 and are mediocre. I can't even say any of it was tasty or worth the money. The service was ok. So the tab for 4 people included 1 sampler platter, 4 margaritas and 2 glasses of wine was just under 67.00. So 1 star for this terrible experience. The place could use an overhaul and better menu with tastier food. The best bet here is taco Tuesday when tacos are 2.00 each. They are worth that because they are stuffed with shredded beef or chicken. We always phone order for a pickup and bring it home. They also include chips and salsa in your order. 2.5 stars for taco Tuesday phone orders. read more

We have been customers for many many years we were born and raised in the area and we know this restaurant 's way before they even became the big restaurant that they are now but within the last year their service is horrible. Your waiter will come once and then you can find them and you ask the bus boys for your waiter and it takes for them to get a hold of them and they tell you oh it's because he is busy. Also the lady that is at the cash register which I think is one of the owners is so rude to people the way she talks to you and she gets loud and will "say make a straight line". "Oh my god this is like outrageous". It might be time for her to retire if she cannot handle being overwhelmed with customers and also answering the phone. It is time for her to retire. As far as the other owner Steve, there is no issues with him. He is the nicest guy. Never have I ever seen him through all these years. Ever lose his patience with any customers. My husband has mentioned once or twice to me about how Moreno's has really good food. For me personally, Mexican food is at the bottom of my list because I am allergic to cilantro. This weekend I tried this restaurant for the first time. My husband's company had a holiday luncheon here. Of course I was expecting the worst. The restaurant had a buffet set up for us with tortillas, tamales, steak fajitas, salad, rice, beans and enchiladas. Also, dessert was Mexican bread and flan. I wasn't really impressed with what I chose considering I am trying to eat low carb and there was really no low carb food except the salad (btw the ranch dressing tasted kind of funky.) On the plus side, there was no cilantro in anything....especially not the guac!!! That made me really happy because I could actually eat the guac without having to worry about it! I didn't really eat dessert and I think the flan tasted like it had been in the refrigerator too long. It had a funky refrigerator taste. I don't know if I would come back here. I just had the worse restaurant experience of my life!!! Let's start with the mariachi, there's a giant sign in front of the restaurant that says "Mariachi" There was no Mariachi playing. My wife, mother in law and brother in law got the wrong order , my brother in law got his order wrong 3 times!!!! It took him 40 minutes to get his food. By the time he got his food, our food was cold. Salsa taste like tomato soup, fly's everywhere. Margaritas taste like smoothies!!!! And my bill was $427. Skip this place!!! We have been celebrating family events at Moreno's for about 45 years. We have missed it during this isolation time, but, just recently began ordering and our grandchildren are picking up for us. This afternoon, I called and placed an order with a really friendly guy, to be ready for pickup at 5:30. And, it was! As soon as our granddaughter brought the food to the door, we could smell the delicious Moreno's tacos and burrito -- just mouthwatering! And, everything was wonderful, even chips and salsa -- just like being there! Except for the margaritas. I soooo wanted to like this place. We arranged a happy hour with some work colleagues and we were excited to get out and experience a little bit of "normal". We had a reservation and sat on the patio. The service was horrible - a few of us arrived after drinks had been served to those who arrived first and it took us almost a half hour to get service or even acknowledged. We had to go up and wrangle someone to come to the table. The food was terrible. The Moreno's appetizer platter was overcooked, hard, no flavor. My meal was inedible (steak fajitas) as the meat was completely flavorless - I asked everyone at the table to try a piece. The vegetables and meat were burned. It was so disappointing as I really wanted to like this place. The patio was cool and it could be fun but the service and food was just too bad. I won't go back or if I do, only for a beer, if we can track down someone to serve us. We were a group of 8 people and the bill was only $250 but that's because nobody could get a drink. Got my bill and they charged me $1.75 for sour cream and $1.50 for cheese making the total over $13 without tax and tip. Who charges for that?! And for a shitty carne asada with so many tough fat pieces. Poor quality food, try any other Mexican place and I guarantee it will be better. Moreno's, get your shit together. Every other place is better. Even chipotle doesn't charge for sour cream and your food wasn't even close to their standards. Just feel bad I spent that money. read more
