There is only 3 reasons I come here; Rena, Andrea, and if I'm looking for a good time. If you want a real ass crowd here is the place to be.

The Bar: Located in Orange, on Chapman Avenue across from the local high school. In a strip mall, with a Del Taco within walking distance which is especially nice when wasted. Approaching the bar, there is a single door into a dark room. The bar itself is oddly shaped, sorta like a boomerang. First thing ya notice walking in, is the liquor, conveniently placed near the door to attract the consumer. The Crowd: Well, this night, it was pretty dead inside. We ran into another bartender from Marty's Cocktails out partying with her friends, so we decided to kick it at that end of the bar. As for the rest of the crowd... there were a couple of old dudes at the bar, and a couple on the pool tables.. that was about it. Service: Prompt, but the bar was empty. Prices: From what I can remember, I believe it was $2.75 a bottle for domestic, and $5.50 a shot for Jameson. Entertainment: 2 pool tables, bar top video game, dart board, a few TV's. Restroom: I almost don't need to write about this disgusting area. Look at the picture below. It smelled worse that in looks, if that's even possible. Bartender: Poison pusher for the night was Teri. From what we've heard, she is legen....wait for it....dary. Would not disagree with that statement. Made for a great time. Closing statement: Besides being on a major street with lots of Cops, not too bad. Had a great time, with great people and certainly plan on making a return trip in the near future.

I can't even give this place one star. I like dive bars, but I might as well been in TJ the bartendress was rude, although I have been known to swear, listening to her and the only other patron, another bartendress, talk was highly disgusting. They burped outloud, I think to impress to me what progressive women they are, to talking about that night's special drink. It just so happened to be the Blowjob. The shill at the bar, some Hispanic chick, made a comment that for an extra five bucks she would go out back to perform the real thing. She may have been kidding around, but by the looks of her I'm not so sure. I'll never step foot in this disgusting place again. There are dive bars and then there are places like this that make you want to slink out the back hoping no one saw you go in our out! I had to give one star didn't want to.

Pool tables, cheap drinks and mellow vibes.

It takes place mostly in their rear patio area and parking lot, but a good number of vendors were also in an adjacent air conditioned event room. They have a very small parking lot, but it was occupied by vendors during this event. Do not park in the parking lots of the adjacent businesses, as we were warned when entering the Tonga Hut that cars get towed regularly. There's plenty of street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Entering from the rear, there is a good sized covered patio with around eight benches. We went inside to check it out and grab a drink. The interior is fairly small with four good sized booths, a lounge area with a large J-shaped couch with several small tables, and around ten seats at the bar. It is dimly lit with some basic tiki décor, and has an old-school feel. They had a fixed cocktail menu for this event which is understandable. We stood in line at the bar for about ten minutes, got our drinks and went out to the patio. The bartender was friendly, and didn't seem flustered by the high volume of patrons. I had the Horned Beast O' The Celtic Sea (Oceanus Hibernicus Irish Malt, Jamacian Rum, House Made Falernum & Orgeat, Peach, Citrus, Dash of Cherry Heering, $13). She had the Leprechaun Grog (Three Rums, Lime, Grapefruit, Honey, Spice, Soda, $14). Both drinks were good, were served in souvenir plastic cups, and were a bargain at $13 to $14. If you ordered a drink containing Oceanus whiskey, the bartender gave you a gold coin and you could exchange it with the Oceanus representative on the patio for a free T-shirt. Durango Tacos was setup near the rear entrance for food. We had four tacos (two carne asada and two veggie), and they were good and reasonably priced. This was the first tiki marketplace we have attended. There were around twenty vendors with a good assortment of art work, tiki mugs, tiki clothing, tiki décor, and other miscellaneous items. I purchased a few nice tiki shirts which were a steal at $20 and $25. The vendors and visitors were all very friendly and in a festive mood. We hung out for about ninety minutes and had a good time. We will return at some point to try their regular cocktail menu and see what it's like on a non-event night.

Tonga hut is my favorite local tiki bar, but it is such a hit or miss when I go!…read more On a weekend, you could easily walk in with no problem or be hit with a one-hour wait. Sometimes they have servers, other times you order at the bar. The last time I went, there was a long line as only one bartender was making drinks, yikes! Despite that, the drinks are solid, reasonably priced, and strong! They have a variety of drinks and nightly specials. Each bartender also has their own "secret menu" specials that only they can make. The decor is very on theme, and they have a fire pit and heaters outside for when it is chilly.

I needed to leave the small confines of luxury apartment living and not only taste the fresh air but taste the last dying beats of a once wonderful city, where the star was not the blocks and blocks of homeless people who have been willfully ignored by the "brave leaders" of current day Gotham City. But, one must always try to lean toward optimism and avoid the bottomless pit of despair. So, on the bright side I was about a hundred feet from Hank's Bar. Familiar and comforting like a kind neighbor from a forgotten time.... the 80's or 90's. This neighbor was not always home when you knocked on their door. But when they were home they welcomed you with open arms, making you feel better and safer. Sometimes they even offered you food. Well Hank's and this "long-ago" neighbor are one and the same. Hank's isn't always open when you need them but when they are the drinks are stiff, the company is fascinating and oddly comforting. And if you're lucky there are hotdogs and popcorn available free of charge. Besides, we're neighbors and sometimes neighbors share. Stay positive and curious my friends....

The drinks are reasonably priced, especially for being right in the middle of Hollywood. Nothing fancy or overdone, just solid pours that get the job done without draining your wallet. The ambiance is where this place really stands out. It has that classic, slightly gritty old-Hollywood feel--dim lighting, neon glow, and a no-frills setup that makes it feel authentic rather than curated. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel like you've stepped into a different era. The crowd is usually chill and mixed--locals, regulars, and people who actually know what the place is instead of just stumbling in from the Walk of Fame. The bartenders are friendly and have that old-school energy, sometimes even sharing bits of history about the bar, which adds to its charm. One of the biggest advantages is the location. It's super convenient, right near the Red Line and easy to access, which makes it perfect for a night out without worrying too much about logistics. The only real downside is the size. It's very small, so it fills up fast, and it can get a bit tight depending on the night. But honestly, that's part of its character--it never tries to be something it's not. Overall, the Frolic Room is a true Hollywood classic: simple, iconic, and always worth stopping by.
