I wish I could leave a no star review , the manager is really rude and I heard her making racist comment towards the other guests . The service was horrible and the alcohol tasted like water . Very basic in a good way dive bar. Had two pool tables and dart machine. The prices are very competitive and the portions seem to be generous. The bar tenders are friendly and tend to be quicker than most bars even when they are busy. I've been there only a handful of times but I can tell they have very regular regulars who are friendly but not overly so. My second time going, and the person working the bar the minute you enter (her name might be Karen) refused to serve us drinks cause she was too busy and overloaded. I head over to the second bar to the far right with another bartender (maybe patty), which is way busier than Karen's with way more people. Was able to take my order with no problem and ease. Got my drinks and enjoyed my night with her as my bartender all night. Would leave a 5 star review but, what a way to start my night by saying "no I'm too busy". WOW. read more

Don't come here if you want to have a good time. They will yell last call way before 1:30, at 1:10 in my experience to be specific. Then they'll kick everyone out at 1:40 and won't let you use the restroom because "their boss is watching them on the cameras". Bartender took away all unfinished drinks at 1:40 because she said "it's past 2AM" and when I told her it was only 1:45, she said "it's past 2AM bar time" ??? Make it make sense. Terrible, watched a bartender (Kirby) profile a guy I knew last night that has always been genuine when he comes in. Clearly he is of age and his id was presented but the tattoos and complexion was a issue because I heard a comment after he left. You guys should be ashamed and fix your mistake , he knew majority of your bar. Came here with friends on a Friday night and it was pretty nice. The bartender was amazing! I don't remember her name but I wish I did! Her service was great and she was funny! I want to go back just for her! The dart game was fun but there was only one which sucked cuz you have to go back and forth sharing it when other people want to use it. There's a few pool tables. Came here Thursday September 7th there was a blonde shorty and a brunette chubbier shorty that told me they didn't want to make a mai tai right now so they wanted me to get another drink. Not a huge issue I get not wanting to work son a Thursday I guess . I was served four drinks and tipped heavily not because the drinks were made great but because I'm a server so I understand. When I went up to drink five, the brunette decided to card me. I thought was no big deal so I showed her my passport and she told me it wasn't a vail ID. I told her I was served multiple times already and that I was going to get more drinks and she told me I had to leave. I was confused but left with my party 7 who were all buying shots btw and we went elsewhere but overall it was a clean spot. Thankful for the popcorn I guess. read more

Bartenders are nice, security is strict on ID's BRING IT not expired either. Pours are generous. Jukebox for playing your jams and a popcorn machine to help yourself. Ambience is great. Crowd is chill. But the bartender tonight is rude, yelling across the bar at customers to hurry and order their drinks saying, "everybody wants a drink, so hurry up and order." My thoughts were, where's the Bar Rescue guy when you need him? Where's the friendly bar vibe? The only reason I'm still here is so I can sit comfortably and share this review. We came to spend the evening, watch the game, have a few drinks each and maybe play some pool and chill. Hhmmph I didn't even finish my first cocktail. Who wants to be yelled at for patronizing the bar ...in a sports bar? Not me. We thought this location may be a new hang out for us, but we'll stick with the other locations. This place has horrible customer service. The drinks are lousy. So why come back? Wow. Really wanted to like it here. UPDATE: Someone from this establishment contacted me via yelp to imply that I made this review in efforts to promote other Bottoms Up establishments. I want to address that here. I have removed my original opening sentence stating that I've been to several other Bottoms Ups, as I didn't know at the time of my initial review that the establishments are not affiliated. Now... 1. With the bars all having the same name, I was unaware that THIS location is not affiliated with several other bars, of the same name. 2. We came here, traveling to another county, because of our fondness of the Bottoms Up establishments in the Long Beach area. We literally wanted to try them all. I'm actually glad to learn that this location is not related to the others. 3. The male bartender was in fact shouting at patrons because he was along behind the bar and a customer came from sitting next to me at the bar, went behind the counter and began to help serve drinks. I have no reason to make this up. I gain nothing from doing so beyond letting people know what my experience was, as Yelp is used for (or so I thought), so they can have a real lay persons opinion of the experience there. 4. The Bottoms Up (again, unaffiliated), that we most enjoy is ALWAYS comfortable packed and lively and an environment that I enjoy. Again this is MY Yelp review. Review = objective observations and my own subjective opinion. That's what Yelp is for. Lol. Posting a review here to gain business for another bar would really be an ineffective way for me to try to gain them business. I'm a nurse. Not a bartender or waitress. I don't work for Bottoms Up. I don't receive anything from them that I don't purchase like any other customer. 5. If my Yelp Reviews are not to your particular liking, I encourage you to either ignore it (it's not hard), or take inventory of the amount of bartenders behind the counter on a packed Tuesday. So that customers like myself, who was really only looking for a fun night at a new place that I THOUGHT was affiliated with some of my favorite hangouts, would be turned off. 6. The funny thing is, the other Bottoms Ups didn't set me up to make this review, quite the contrary. I CAME TO YOUR ESTABLISHMENT BECAUSE OF THE FUN I HAVE AT THE OTHER ESTABLISHMENTS. I patronized you because of them. But was sadly, grossly, and thoroughly disappointed. And the demeanor of the male bar tender that night, was night unlike your private message to me. Just void of joy and happiness and fun spirited basic human kindness and courtesy. So, now I have an even better understanding of the service we received. Must be systemic. Or maybe your unhappiness and failure to own up to whatever was going on that Tuesday we visited, ready to have a great time, is why a review like mine was carefully written. Unhappiness is contagious. I stand on my review that this place is unfriendly and mean spirited. You've now completely solidified that observation for me. 7. I never mentioned the guy outside the bar that asked my husband if he wanted to buy any cocaine. But why not? One more reason not to return to this place. read more

Been coming here for 5 years solid now and I'm a regular. My best friend loves this spot also and she drives from Torrance just to get drinks with me here. The best Dive bar u will come across in OC. Clean fun respectful. They have outdoor addition now and they made it cute with high tables lights and grass floor. I don't know about the other reviews but the bathrooms are always clean and one can not control customers who leave their trash behind or make a mess. People are tipsy let's not forget. My fav bartender here is Yvette. I love when I see her because she's full of energy and her customer service is lit. The way she makes drinks you cannot complain it's on point. The people who come here also are diverse and friendly never seen any fights, violence or discrimination towards anyone. It's safe and I trust the drinks not shady. Great local bar.. we always come here randomly and each time we are served quickly and with the most respect. This is def one of the closest places to us but even if it wasn't we would make the drive to come because it is always the same 3 bartenders each time and all 3 of them are super nice and always quick to serve us. I live across the street and have been coming here for a few years. On Friday they had a bouncer and he respectfully was doing his job. While i was looking for my ID (turns out I left it/dropped it at the Cheesecake Factory) we discussed the military and how my grandfather was a colonel in the Marines in the Korean war and my other grandfather landed in Iwo Jima with john Basilone. Now I understand he is serving his post and with no ID no entry....I am 48 BTW. So we took our money to other places. However me mentioned if I had another ID ....I told him I have my expired one and basically said to bring it. The next night we show up with the expired ID (car was in the shop so could not go get my ID) and he told me no....I need to go to the DMV...UGH duh on a Saturday. My fiance is also an ex Marine and by all means this guys was just rude. Any ABC or Cop would have no issue with an expired ID ....They can run it through the system. FYI order bottled beer, the lines are not clean and don't count on top shelf even when requested. Saw it first hand. read more

I went here a lot, I wold say at once a week, things happens at bars, situations get out of control but I know that things can be handled professionally by the bartenders and staff. Went here Last night (Friday) at 10:45, walked in, said my hellos and waved at those I knew and sat at the end of the bar. Was a great night until around 1am, I know that there was a scuffle between women at the door, I know that the bartenders where talking with each other. But getting to the point. It looks like a girl disagreement going on, 6 girls walked back to the area of the bar I was at and one seemed very upset, I didn't get to involved in that. Later Patty the bartender from the back bar came around to the side the girls where on.. purposely walked between the girls, then walked behind the main bar. Argued and said stuff between the girls and started raising her hands and yelling at them. You might think it was to leave it wasn't.. just was yelling because nobody was saying what she wanted to hear, so she walked back out behind the main bar and around my side of the corner where the girls where and grabbed one of the girls by her hair and shoulder with both of her arms and spun her around to face her violently and then things got out of control.. I jumped in as a good citizen and broke them apart, I held Patty so she could not fight the women and moved her 6 feet away form the women and yelled at the bartender Patty for putting her hands on a guest of the building as it is considered Assault when nobody did anything to provoke her to grab the women, and she was not acting in the fashion to "ASK HER TO LEAVE". Right now ive called like 10 times today and nobody is answering the phone. As a citizen you have the right to defend yourself and someone else if you feel that they are in harms way, and this night, the Security that was their, was worried about something else because he did not seem to understand the situation at the bar so I helped. I have witnesses and I called the police to file a report, waiting for the police to get back with me. Its the Law, that when ANYONE touches you unwillingly and has not asked you to leave and has the right to remove after asking you to leave. If they touch you, then its Assault. read more

My local watering hole. A place where I can go to feel at home with all my Anaheim folk. If you like dive bars that serve stiff drinks at a great price this is your spot. Be warned though..if it's busy and the bartender doesn't know you, you'll probably be waiting a while for a drink. It sucks I know, but everyone must pay their dues.
