OMG my sister and I had the BEST time at The Continental Room for Emo Prom!!! They have fun themed nights going on all the time with live music, djs, all the things - def check out their calendar. There are multiple rooms, for this event there was different music in each and a photo booth. It was around Halloween and the crowd totally got in the spirit. Spooky Emo is a vibe. When I went with my coworker it was dead but as we kept walking around Downtown Fullerton the line got noticeably long. Personally, I didn't find anything special about this place. I have never been to a bar this bad. 1st, they were not set up when they were open and so I walked in and it was empty, no one at the bar, eventually we sat down and I was dancing having a good time, then I got a margarita, I am 99% sure they put yellow Gatorade in their margs, it was not good. Then I got a white claw, this part is my mistake I guess but I didn't know , but I went to step outside for a moment to get some fresh air and security came outside and aggressively SNATCHED my white claw and threw it away, I was stunned. He ended up feeling bad because I cried because I'm sensitive lol and gave me a new white claw but that whole thing was just uncalled for and crazy - a simple "hey you can't have that outside either throw it away or come back in" would have done fine. THEN, and yall; I was a little lit but not drunk drunk, I was talking to the bar tender we were chopping it up and having a good talk then this girl who I said I hi to thought I was hitting on her and I told her I was married to a man and then I asked her "did you think I was hitting on you" she dismissed me but then apparently she told the bar tender that I did something because I was ASKED TO LEAVE - I have never in my life written a review for anywhere and I also have never EVER been escorted out of a bar at all let alone for no valid reason. Beware going here! They have a homophobic security guard. We got kicked out by him last Friday for my transgender friend using the female restroom. He was very unnecessarily angry and aggressive. After changing owners in December 2023, it has now become a full-time, latin nightclub that just happens to have a bar in it. Now, walking in feels like you're imposing on the bouncers' personal space, like they'd rather be anywhere else, and maybe you should be too or at least that how they made me feel. Kudos to their bartenders they're definitely knowledgeable. Inside, it's a club scene that you'd swear is curated by a magic 8-ball, with themes changing every night, as if they're throwing every trend at the wall, hoping something sticks. Look, I get it change is inevitable. But the soul of the place? That seems to have slipped away. I'll give it another shot in the summer, see if it's found itself by then. Saw Sitting On Stacy and Mustard Service. Really cool that they get all sorts of acts in here. Had a really great time! Oh and with parking across the street it was hassle free.
