Upgrades to Garlic and parmesian fries are an up charge as was ranch dressing but the charge does appear on the menu for careful readers. Drinks were good, fairly strong, and priced competitively. I don't think that I would recommend the Calderon for dinner, but for drinks and appetizers it's a fun place to spend some time. Overall we enjoyed the experience and the cost was reasonable. A little disappointed on the up charges for the fries and ranch dressing. The chicken cordon Bleu sliders left something to be desired.

I don't normally stay quiet when someone speaks to me disrespectfully, but I was so caught off guard that I didn't even know what to say. Before that, he had also yelled out to the host that she didn't need to worry because we didn't know the owners and that she could relax. The whole interaction was completely unnecessary and made us feel very uncomfortable. We came in wanting to enjoy the atmosphere and have a good time. Instead, we left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. There is a way to speak to customers, even if you feel they are asking questions you don't like. We did nothing to deserve that kind of attitude. The Blind Rabbit may be a great place, but unfortunately, the way we were treated by this bartender completely ruined the experience for us. The only reason I think I will ever go back to The Bench is because it's the closest bar to me. That's all they really have got going for them in my opinion. The vibe is strange when you walk in.. Very dark like they are trying to save money on electricity or something. If you take a close look at all of the barstools you will notice that not one of them match any other one there. They have creepy neon light signs that haven't been cool since 1993. Their beers are expensive & unfriendly crowd that stares at you the entire time you are there. These "Regulars" are just a bunch of drunk old men that are desperately trying to hook up with the bartenders that are also extremely desperate for attention. read more

Veronica is a very bad bar tender. She be using her phone a lot instead of tending the customers. She also take very long to make drinks, no experience it seem like. I stop in this bar once in a while and has cleaned up since the new owner. It's small and it's a dive bar and the bartenders are friendly. I think the lady who helped us was named Stacy and she was very cool. The only problem with this bar is parking but after the neighboring business close you can use there spot. read more

The parking lot is way too small. I didn't feel safe leaving my vehicle in a dark secluded parking lot behind the business. The bartender was ok. The clientele is infested with thugs, gangsters, cholos, gangbangers and other low lifes. How this dump gets so many positive reviews is beyond me. read more

I will not be "editing" or removing my post just because I was sent a threatening email. If I were to do that, THAT would be embellishing the truth. Nothing I stated was exaggerated. It's my opinion and who is Yelp to tell me otherwise or to try to correct my review? I responded to Yelp via email and told them that if I'm ever sent another threatening email due to a bad review I left, I will be forwarding it to my attorney. Maybe it was the work "fuck" that triggered the email from Yelp, but this was a dive bar review. Far worse goes on there than the "F" word. We are adults. We can handle a curse word. I stand by my review so sue me then.
