We visited on Monday, Feb. 23rd as a seizure alert service dog team. The female bartender with black hair initially told us we could not bring in a service animal. After we explained that he is a trained seizure alert dog, we were eventually allowed inside. It's important to note my service animal is 6 pounds and silent. Despite the bar being nearly empty with only two other patrons, and us seated nowhere near them, we were directed to sit by the door. The bartender then insisted the dog could not sit near his handler and must remain on the floor, even after we explained that proximity is necessary for seizure alert tasks, especially with high bar stools. She responded "on the floor is next to her." Under ADA guidelines, businesses are allowed to ask only two questions: whether the dog is a service animal required because of a disability, and what work or task the dog has been trained to perform. They cannot isolate guests "by the door" because of a service animal, treat them differently from other customers, require the dog to sit on the floor if the trained task requires proximity, or create additional restrictions that ***don't apply to others.*** The entire interaction was unwelcoming and unnecessary. We chose to leave. Sharing this so other service dog teams are aware. read more

The vibe of the spot is very chill, music is going, but it wasn't too loud! The drinks were lovely and well priced!!! I had originally wanted to try the Slutty mermaid drink, but I had to reroute because of my coconut allergy. I wish I remembered the name of the drink she served me, but it was a tequila base with a chamoy + tajin rim. Came here 7/15, with a few friends that were from out of town. The bartender Valerie, or as she says just call me Val. Was so helpful. She recommended places for my friends, who were from out of state. I didn't even know about the beach cove she recommended. Awesome!!! She recommend the chicharrons, which was amazing! So fresh. I absolutely adore this place! The food and drinks are incredible (try the chicken wrap and the fries), the bartenders are so sweet and fantastic at their jobs, and you can never go wrong with Friday night karaoke! This place has an incredible community and is my go-to bar in OC! Visited Blvd Cocktails for the first time last night. My wife and I had a great time. The music was just right. The atmosphere was friendly and chill. They have weekly raffles. We bought $10 worth of tickets and won $50 at their 11:30 raffle drawing. Our bartender Alisa was awesome. She was welcoming, friendly, and made some great suggestions for our drinks. I meet a new friend every time, which I love because I'm a people person. And no matter your team, the crowd is always fun and respectful. Now, let's get into the amazing bartenders. No matter the situation, you can count on them to have patience and meet the needs of the bar's patrons. This past Sunday, due to unforeseen circumstances, they were down to one bartender. When I say Ms. Stephanie did her thing and worked that line, I don't feel as if we were effected. Me and my fiancé moved to the area about a year ago from Wisconsin and have been on the hunt for a Packers bar. We finally had a free night and got a chance to visit. I wish I could leave 0 stars. This place is so unprofessional .it's my birthday and the white bouncer with the beard took away our table after the game. We were paying for drinks all game. Like 4 hours paying for drinks. We had a 500 dollar taband the security and the bar tender with tattoos wanted to take the table and I said no and they kicked me out on my birthday with 500 dollars of drinks. I hate this place. Love both spots - Anaheim & Paramount. Over the years I've had Flea, Dee, and Manda serve it up for us! I'm all here for the neighborhood bar - awesome staff, great music, awesome company, and most importantly - great drinks! Gen Z Pricilla is the worst. JK. I've never had a bad time here. Food is amazing. Vibe is great. Especially when they have a DJ. Steph, Val, Dee, Tiff, Eli. Everyone I've met here is pretty cool. This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!

We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening and we were bummed that it was packed full inside. We decided to go have a drink upstairs, and then come back down later to see if it was any less busy. There must have been one big group who left because 30 minutes later, it was completely empty inside. There are a few wood tables outside of the entrance and several two seat tables along the outside of the side of the train, but for a first visit we definitely wanted to be inside. When you come inside at BXCR, there are two long green couches along each side that wrap around to the entrance to maximize available space. There are two steamer trunks on each side that serve as tables. We were surprised that all of the tables had a Yahtzee game on them, and we had a blast playing that while we enjoyed our drinks. If you happen to roll a Yahtzee, they give you a candle as a prize. There is good background music playing that fits the environment. There is some good décor with overhead baggage racks and international clocks on one wall, and gauges on the wall next to the bar. There are some small rectangular windows along the top of both sides, and some curtained windows on the right side which do let a little light in. When the main entrance door is opened before its dark outside, it does let quite a bit of light in and kills the ambience temporarily. I would recommend coming closer to or after sunset to not let any outside sunlight interfere with your experience. The drinks are made at the bar in the rear where there are several seats and a little standing room. It wasn't on the current menu, but I saw on a previous menu they had an Amaretto Sour so I started with that, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and frothy from an egg white and had Angostura bitters on top. My girlfriend started with the Calm Cruise which was great. It's basically a Pina Colada, but with an additional honeydew flavor in the background. For number two, I tried the C-League cocktail. The smokiness of Mezcal has grown on me lately if it is not the primary flavor, and in this drink it is at a nice level somewhere in the middle. The cucumber and cilantro are definitely present, along with a little heat from the ancho verde and a little sweetness from the Luxardo maraschino. This is a excellent easy-drinking tequila cocktail. Her number two was the Aviation which she enjoyed. Vince was our main bartender along with Sarah. They were very friendly and fun to chit-chat with while they were mixing up our drinks. This is definitely a cool place to check out, and we will definitely return.
