Stopped in here for a quick drink on a Friday night a few weeks ago ago. Bartender was a friendly guy, it was pretty dead but I really enjoyed it. I love the service here all the dudes are great. (I haven't yet been served by a female yet hence why I say dudes!) my boyfriend and I love coming here for a few drinks. I wanted a new vodka drink as I'm a fruity gal and usually drink vodka cranberry's, vodka red bulls or dirty Shirley's. Just your classic 21 year old gal. Quickly I felt apart of the community and noticed the bar loved to give back by holding fundraiser for its community members and anyone in need. I feel like this little bar is trying to be a lot cooler than it actually is. My friends and I stopped in here for a drink before heading rollerskating this past Friday night. For it being about 9pm on a Friday we didn't have a problem grabbing a seat at the bar. The bartender was nice enough, but actually got snotty with me when I asked if they had PBR. Sorry, you're kind of a dive bar, I had wishful thinking. No need to get bitchy sir and start comparing it to Natty Ice. Then when my friend asked him to make her something fruity he immediately asked, "Oh like a Long Island... or maybe an Adios?" Thanks for the compliment that we LOOK 21, but I assure you we're not. I ended up getting a double vodka soda and she got a Long Beach because those seemed like safe bets. My drink ended up being pretty strong surprisingly enough. But with the $8 price tag and the environment, I don't think it was worth it, and I really don't see myself coming back here again. My friends were feeling nostalgic so we decided to hit up Holiday Skate Rink and valiantly try to not kill ourselves rollerskating. I'm not much of a fan of skating or sports or really anything where I have to break a sweat without the hopes of an orgasm at the end of it so suffice to say I wasn't too excited until OH HELL YES there is a bar in the same parking lot!!!! Well the skating lasted all of thirty minutes and then the party moved to the bar. And let me just say I may not be much of a skater but I'm the Kristy Yamaguchi of drinking. The bartender was super cool and friendly, the beers were ice cold and the bathrooms (My drunk ass used both Guys and Girls by the end of the evening) were freakin awesome. Randomly popped up on the yelp homepage with really good ratings which left me really, really confused? As far as dive bars go, um NOTHING special, kitschy or remotely interesting. The pool table was uneven, needed new felt, my crown royal, and grey goose cocktails were no less expensive than anywhere else. The "regular" patrons gave us dirty stare down looks, eeek washed up alcoholics, in fact it was a rather depressing bar. I mean let's not romanticize this, it's not some Tobey Keith picture perfect American by any means, no way jose Even worse the only "decent" song lol I could find on the juke box was Lynyrd Skynyrd 'Free Bird' and if I hadn't paid for that there would be NO MUSIC Also it's catty corner to a HUGE Christian Bookstore, weird stuff, that basically explains the vapid shittiness of the stripmall it is in. I guess go to the circle for more ambiance and culture, this place is for straight up alkies and desperate college students. read more

This is a great little bar I stumbled upon while trying to find a cheap local place to wet my whistle. It is a bit of dive/sports bar so I wouldn't recommend first dates here...(unless she is awesome), but it is great for boozing on a budget. They have TVs with sports, a 75 cent pool table and many specials...but best of all is an every day 3 dollar 24oz Pabst. Drink cheap! Also (although I have never seen it) there is a sign saying they got Wii! Really!?! How does that work? I wanna do drunken Wii tennis with strangers...who wouldn't? Hell, I'd even bring mine just so that damn thing can get a little action...hopefully me too. Not too much bad to speak of...no designated smoking area...just out front and out back. It is a little small as mentioned and the crowds seem to be a bit older...but hell, if it saves me a cab ride and i can get a buzz going under 15 bucks...I'm in! read more

This is an early evening after work stop for myself and my coworkers. 32oz beers for around $5.00. Pickled Eggs for a buck. I love me some pickled eggs. The bathroom is wallpapered with outdated magazine photos of shirtless men. All in all I'm not easily frightened by the colorful crowd that attends and I enjoy a quiet place to knock back a cold beer and recap the days events with a friend. Sunday afternoon had to get out of the house to chill and maybe catch a game. Decided to make the 20 min drive and check-out some never before visited bars. First stop, "Jimmy Bones." It's in a shopping center but luckily had a billboard advertisement to let drivers know its in the shopping center. Walked in and thought, "Oh boy, definitely a locals spot." Sat at the bar and noticed a nice array of ethnicity. Several white/hispanic/black. Everyone was wearing diff NFL jerseys but it was a chill vibe. I sat at the bar and the bartender with the handlebar stach was super cool. allowed me to taste a newer beer before ordering. He joked and treated my like arg even tho he knew I was a boot. I was surrounded by locals but they were super cool. All over the age of 30. the beer was $9.25 for a 32 oz (I think) which was a good price. People were coming in with food from outside and offering to share with strangers. Started talking to "David" and a few other locals and really had a great time. I had to go to some bar named, Blondies, so I left after 45 mins. btw, Blondies is no Bueno) I went back to Jimmys and enjoyed another hour. Really a great bar. there isn't music but that could be because the games were on. It also would have been cool to have a kitchen there but there are so many food places around it really doesn't matter. I'll be back when I have a designated driver for sure. read more

I went here for a friends bday who is a regular here at Jimmy Bones, so I probably didn't experience the bar for what it really was, which probably would've been shitty otherwise. I agree with the other people on here saying that the drinks are strong, but they are quite expensive. I ordered a $9 jager bomb. The bartender was cool, but the lady who "owns" or "manages" the place was a complete b!tch to me and my friends. Honestly, I know I wont come back here. Stumbled upon this place on the way to the Holiday Skate place for a bday party. It is a typical neighborhood bar, but friendlier than most. For a 1st timer I was made to feel very welcome. Bartenders smiling, patrons smiling and chatty. Oh, maybe cuz of the triple pours! Damn!! Plenty of TV's, couple video games, you get the picture. It is hidden in one of OC's bazillion strip malls, behind the Rite Aid practically under the 55 fwy @ chapman. This is the first time I've ever been here and let me tell you this is the friendliest bar I ha e ever walked into!!! All the customers in here honestly make you feel welcomed and the bartender, Jake, seriously one of the nicest bartenders I've met in a while. He had no problem answering any questions I had. They have a small menu but they have take out menus behind the bar so you can actually eat what you want and not have to leave the bar! They also have a good truck that comes by!!! Best idea ever!!! The drinks are stiff, so thats a plus. However, I was hoping they'd be a little less expensive given the divey atmosphere. The bartender was experienced and knew how to handle the whole crowd all by his lonesome. I spotted an antique register; the kind you'd find in a western saloon. Call me weird, but I thought that was really cool. My only gripe is that its super narrow, and being that it was pretty packed when I went, there was really nowhere to stand without being in the way of people walking in and out. This is probably one of those joints where you have to be a local to really love it. read more

This place is great. It's one of my favorite dive bars. The drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are attentive and efficient. The pickled eggs are delicious. We live around the block so it's only a 5 minute walk. The bar is conveniently located near a 24 hour walk in taco place. It's perfect for those late night munchies. read more

I have been to this place a few times over the past year with great service. However, I came in last night and the service was just awful!!!! The normal bartender was not there and this other guy with the beard and belly sucked. Did not even acknowledge us and was looking at his phone the entire time at the bar.
